Bill Clinton gave a strong endorsement of Barack Obama Wednesday night.

DENVER, Colorado (CNN) – For one night, it was like the Democratic Party had entered a parallel dimension, where John Kerry was an electrifying speaker and Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were members of a mutual admiration society.

Watch: Fact-checking Bill Clinton

The former president came through for Obama the way his wife had on Tuesday. But oddly, Clinton was upstaged by a near-dynamic John Kerry, joining Al Gore in the club of unsuccessful Democratic presidential candidates who seem to hit their stride after their defeat.

Watch: Bill Clinton wows the crowd at the Democratic National Convention

After two nights of consecutive Clinton speeches, Joe Biden had his work cut out for him to claim the spotlight.

Many observers predicted the blunt Delaware senator would fill the attack dog role on the Democratic ticket, but his initial address as the vice presidential nominee was more bark than bite. He steered clear of the harshest language, and never uttered the name of Dick Cheney, the man he is running to replace.

Bill did a great job. Now, people it is up to all of us to make sure Obama/Biden gets elected; so go out and get the vote for US.

People we are going to get our country back. The good times are a coming.

IC   August 28th, 2008 10:44 am ET

Biden highlighted Obama's superior judgement on foreign policy issues vis a vis McCain, giving specific examples. Biden explained why Obama is ready to be commander in chief.

Too bad for term limits–this guy was the best president we ever had and he blows Obama out of the water.I think he's back in good favor after last night :)

Bill made a good speech, but I still won't vote for Obama. I'll be voting Republican for the first time in my life.

Yes, it was the master's night! Both Clintons stole the spotlight. Does this not tell you people that Obama is not ready? , Why should Obama have to depend on the Clintons to "cement" his nomination? Is that the mark of a leader? I think the Clintons went above and beyond the call of duty. If anything, it showed the sharp contrast between Hillary , a true leader, and Obama, a novice who still tries to impress with grandiose sets and hoopla. Hillary does not need a "setting". Nor does McCain. If Obama people think the millions spent on "Greek God Pillars" impress middle Americans, they are wrong.

BINGO!!!!.....but of course obama is sooooo in touch with America we must all want a Greek Temple....

Political Junky   August 28th, 2008 10:38 am ET

I am soooo proud of the Clintons. I have always been supporters but the last couple of nights showed that they are truly honorable. I hope to see them in key roles of Obama's administration.

Great job! I am proud to be an American!

As an Obama Supporter.............. I thank you Bill Clinton for your moment last night. He has made me proud. We are now one.

jack@yahoo.comm   August 28th, 2008 10:37 am ET

The Clintons showed that they have spent their lives working for us. All you have to do is look at how a person raises their children and you can see that they are great parents. I do not think that you can ask anything more from them . The best times of my life were in the 90's. People had jobs, times were good. I can only hope that my daughter will soon enjoy better times once the Democrats take back the White House. And I am really counting on Senator Obama to serve the people as well as the Clintons have devoted their lives to us.

AhWillis   August 28th, 2008 10:36 am ET

Look folks, the selection of the next president of the United States is really simple for me. With gas, food, college for kids savings(Ha Ha)
that's a joke, Oh by the way..the thought of even having a " Savings account" is a joke.

I am going to go to the voting poll as my parents have, believe in the impossible as my fore fathers, place my vote without fear, and select Barack Obama/Joseph Biden as the next leaders for our nation.

I will be casting this vote not as a Democrat, not as a Republican, but as an hard working american woman. As it is written on our fleating dollor "In God we trust".

Helen, NY   August 28th, 2008 10:36 am ET

Bill Clinton can say whatever he likes. Yesterday he was praising Hillary, today is praising Barack and tomorrow he will praise John McCain. He likes to twist it and turn it as he likes. He should know that Barack has no experience whatsoever. He cannot be our president. Vote John McCain.

if you don't vote then you have for fit your voice for the next 4 years...the reason why we are the greatest Nation in the world is because each of us have the right to say no more, no more lies, no more incompetence no more Bush...i ask only 1 question of you, have you read the platform and have you really listen to what Obama has been talking about for the 19 months he has been running? there is no such thing as no war without question, but I believe that a President Obama will use it ONLY as a last option. he will provide tax CUTS for 95% of us, create better jobs leading to a stronger economy, he will not accept women making .77 to the $1.00 a man doing the same job makes, he will create an independent ethics committee in Washington holding the people WE elect accountable, get our troops out of Iraq, create a greener America, fight for our vets, health care and our kids future....that sounds like a lot, but so did going to the moon, fighting Hitler and rebuilding Europe, but hey WE are America every obstacle that has been set before us has been over come...from slavery to having the first Black President. from women's liberation to Hillary Clinton. from 9/11 to this very second...we are America, this election is both our Revolution and our Renaissance...help us take our Country back...vote Obama/Biden and see how beautiful we can be...again

If the country is evenly divided 50% Rep 50% Dem and the Dems support 100% of our country and the Reps support the top 5%

That means 45% of our country are voting against their own self interests. But why? Racism? Ignorance? Fear?

People criticized Hillary's convention speech for not recanting her position during the primary that Barack was not experienced enough for the job.
I dont know how her 'taking it back' helps Obama. Dont see such a strategy convincing the doubting Toms that such an accolade is sincere.

It was more appropriate for Bill to talk along those lines.

Still mad at the DEMS for turning against them so. They didn't deserve it. NO WAY. NO HOW!
BO has a ways to go to make up for it.

I listen to President Clinton wonderful speech last night, but I own my vote and I will vote for who I think is the best candidate for America. The problem is there is not one. GM why is it Hillary and Bill Clinton place to win the election for Obama. He needs to go to the Applachian regions himself. Can't he do anything on his own. Bill has his foundation work and Hill has her Senate work. Its not their fault he likes to take vacations in the middle of a campaign. Really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a comment and question for Sen. McCain. You are a war hero, not for being shot down or even being a POW – Those where not up to you but for not turning your back on your fellow POWs and leaving early when you could.

Now my question – The John McCain that came out of that POW camp, would he appricate you usesing his pain and time as a POW every time you need somthing to fall back on. Would that man vote for you.

Where is that man – maybe I would vote for him

Willam from Texas   August 28th, 2008 10:29 am ET

What can I say, the Clintons are dynamic people. Bill was probably the best president we ever had, and Hillary will make the next best president when her time comes. They both will truly go down in history as dynamic politicians.

California Voter   August 28th, 2008 10:29 am ET

It was a fantastic speech, and he did what he had to do to show his support for the ticket.

Bill was great   August 28th, 2008 10:29 am ET

CNN,

Bill did a great job! Obama didn't thank him enough. Obama is just ignoring Clinton's a lot. He is doing a greates mistake. He didn't even call Hillary to let her know that she is not his running mate. What a hight of arrogance he has ignoring Clintons.

Undecided - Cannot vote for Obama if Obama and Obama supporters stop their arrogance!! If they don't respect Clinton's then we won't vote for Obama. They have lot of complex needless to say!

The Clintons did a superb job to get their campaign debt paid off!

sk   August 28th, 2008 10:24 am ET

Now that both Clintons gracefuly endorsed Barack Obama, lets see how far is he going to sink himself. Since Barack Obama wants to be the president, he, and only he, can convince this country that he is ready to lead. I have my doubts.

Ron Larson   August 28th, 2008 10:24 am ET

Once again, you Dumbocarats will buy anything this meglamaniac spews, both he and his "wife", are the reason your party is in the condition interanlly it's in. The Clinton's have no desire to see Obama as the next President of the US, no matter how vigurously the say it. After this week, you will probably see very little of them, and that's per the Obama's camp marching orders to them. Furhtermore, you will see vey, very little jump in Obama's poll numbers, people have heard and been told by the party and the media what great speakers, what great speeches these folks give, and most uf us just turnm them off now. What is this party going to do, if McCain pick Lieberan as hsi VP, you folks will be in freefall angst when one of you r own goes out there and dismantles the tow most unqualified lieral luntaic shills this nation has seen since the failure of Mondale/Ferrraro.

Jan, Knoxville, TN   August 28th, 2008 10:23 am ET

Bill, thanks for coming through for OBAMA! It was a great speech reminiscent of the wonderful 1990's when you were President.

I hope you will campaign a lot for OBAMA as this is the most critical election in decades!

John in Ohio   August 28th, 2008 10:23 am ET

Bill knocked it out of the park.

The Republicans will keep pretending it was forced. CNN will keep pretending the Democrats are divided.

It won't work. We are unified, we are strong, and no matter who McCain picks as VP we either get votes or McCain loses votes. The gap is widening, and the gap will continue to widen after the mess that the RNC convention will be, and the gap will continue to widen after the debates.

Clinton's speech was very good, one of the best public speakers around. I find it funny that everyone thinks it should be the Clinton's job to unite the party. Obama is the nominee, it is his job. If he cannot unite his party then he will lose. Simple as that.

Bill Clinton in an impeached idiot who lied to this entire country. Yet, you people support him. Just shows you the intelligence level of the average Democrat.

Bill Clinton gave an inspiring speech last night and I believe he meant what he said.

Steve   August 28th, 2008 10:18 am ET

He was magnificent. And most of all very sincere in his support of Obama. He will always be remembered as one of, if not the best Democratic president ever. Hillery might have been about to match his ability to be president. But I truly believe Obama just might based on his abilities and looking at how far and successful he has become and his gift of words.

The pen is still mightier than the sword...

Thank you, Bill and Hillary. We were very proud of how you came through for our country, even though we could see how bittersweet of a moment this is in your eyes. You did the right thing, and you couldn't have done it better. Thank you.

K   August 28th, 2008 10:17 am ET

The Clintons made this convention so far. Otherwise, it was a snoozer.

John, TX   August 28th, 2008 10:16 am ET

Bill's brilliance sparkles at the convention. As a Hillary supporter, we are almost persuaded. There is no doubt that the Democrat has good domestic programs that the Republican should learn. However, on the foreign affairs, in challenging times like this, having Democrats who are willing to talk with a fanatical regime devoid of rationality that is hellbent on the destruction of another country and is feverishly working on its nukes, makes us nervous. In a post 9/11 era when global Islamist terrorisms, external threats and challenges are mounting, we would need a strong government which the Republican represents.

Rick   August 28th, 2008 10:16 am ET

Way to unite the Democrats behind an empty suit. The Clintons know just what they are doing. Now that the Democratic Convention is all but over, what was their theme? And how are they going to do it? The Clintons are going to laugh all the way to the White House in 2012. Sorry to say Democrats but race blinded you from common sense.

Jerry in Boston   August 28th, 2008 10:15 am ET

It's really remarkable how easily people are manipulated by the mainstream media. A few months ago, CNN was feeding the absurd narative that Bill Clinton was a self-serving, divisive racist and most of Obama's supporters were lapping it up in righteous indignation.

Now, apparently, he's God's gift to the Obama campaign and you're all buying into that storyline.

They can't BOTH be true.

It would be nice if people could think for themselves for a change.

Tony   August 28th, 2008 10:14 am ET

Clinton and Kerry outshone the VP. That Clinton's speech is worth $ $50,000.

However, if there is any chance for me to vote for Obama, he better have a fomal apology for the dirty smear campaign tactics his supporters used and are still using to this day. If he does not aplogize, he will lose the election because gender was turned into an issue by Obama and his supporters. For me, that was when Obama and his supporters crossed the line of civility. Mauri   August 28th, 2008 10:13 am ET

Aside from Obama's speech Thursday night, the major action to look forward to is how the polls react afterwards. It's been absolutely amazing that Biden's entry into the race not only did not get a bounce, but in some cases, he and Obama actually lost a few points. Now, two major events will warrant watching, and that's Obama's speech and McCain's VP announcement. What a country!!!

Brad   August 28th, 2008 10:13 am ET

Jim, you are 100% correct. I am a young adult and I know of absolutely no one under 25 who is voting for McCain. Not one single person. Nobody is fooled about McCain; it is very easy to see right through the platform of the Republican Party. Young Republicans are a dying breed, mostly because what has traditionally been considered the "conservative" platform does not speak dynamically to younger people. Even if McCain wins this election, the Republican Party is trending downward as we go along. Sadly, the Bush administration is largely responsible for this.

Bill Clinton and Joe Biden were the best speeches so far, and I had goosebumps the whole way through. A fairly lackluster Convention was renewed before our eyes last night.

Sylvia   August 28th, 2008 10:13 am ET

Joe Biden is a man of character and integrity. A family man of good moral values. Obama is a man of good judgement, a family man of good moral values as well. Their strength is their family and children. It was awesome to see children on stage with the candidates. It was a family affair. Now can McCain match up to these two individuals with a strong family and moral values. Not even close knowing that his wife is a home wrecker.

Any leader will say our children is our future, but if a leader does not have the quality of a strong family values, how can we reshape our country. It start from our home, our back yard. Our family is our pillar.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden has that character and I know that they will reshape our country than what it is now. I will vote for them. No doubt.

Bill, MA.   August 28th, 2008 10:13 am ET

I hope we Democrats can now join together, and win this election. Hillary, and Bill Clinton gave very positive uplifting speeches. The last thing this country needs is another republican president. The number of hate filled Negative Nellies here seems to be dwindling. We Obama supporters, and Clinton supporters have work to do. We don't have the time to listen to those who support the republican ticket. Vote Obama/Biden.

It's always Bill's night wherever he may be. He is just the greatest President since Roosevelt. There is certainly no way the two that's running for office now could ever fill his shoes. THE DNC JERKED THE RUG OUT FROM UNDER THE ONLY ONE WHO COULD COME CLOSE TO FILLING HIS SHOES, HILLARY CLINTON. AND FOR THAT I'M A DEMOCRAT OF 51-YEARS WHO WILL NOT VOTE DEMOCRAT FOR ANYONE UNTIL THE SHIP IS MOPPED OF THE KENNEDYS, DEANS, PELOSI, KERRYS, BYRDS, OBAMA, AND THE LIKE.

Michael in Houston   August 28th, 2008 10:10 am ET

First off Great Job President Clinton. It took alot of intestinal fortitude to get up there and say what you said. Now got the props out of the way, PEOPLE......THESE R-PAD's (REPUBLICAN POSING AS DEMOCRATS) TRYING CALL THEMSELVES puma's ARE SCARED! See that is how I know that they have no confidence in thier party or thier candadite. Example: When we speak about McCain, we also say Obama will or won't do this. When they speak about Obama the bash him, but never really say what thier candadite will or won't do. See the difference folks. So all they can do is come up with a trademarked name (surprised they have not been sued yet) and try to cause dissention in the other party. They have nothing to run on. They have no agenda. Well they do but they cannot say more of the same, that will be the doom of any chance for McCain to win. So they have to resort to fear mongering, smear tactics, false accusations, mischarcterizations. If just one of the Repubs will actually say what they are gonna do versus speak about what the oppenet may or may not do, I would be impressed. And they say Obama is an empty suit, The Republicans as a party are empty, empty of ideas, empty of direction, empty of intelligence, just empty. And that's why they lost the Senate and the House and in November they will lose the White House.

I tuned into C-SPAN last night to watch the speeches. It was great to hear the speakers without interruption by talking heads. Also, there was a great video tribute about our veterans on there. It really brought home how much these people give to serve their country and how saying thank you feels so inadequate. It makes you want to do even more to show how much we appreciate what they do for our country.

Nancy   August 28th, 2008 10:02 am ET

Hey "TRUTH". That's the spirit. NOT!!!! It's so called Democrats like you and your family that we will be glad to get rid of. Obama supporters are faithful, honest, smart, american, and above all non racist. The majority of the people will put Obama in the White House and the McCain can build another house next to Bush.

I've been a harsh critic of Bill lately, and probably will be in the future, but I can't fault him for that speech at all. I thought he'd do a lackluster job, just begrudgingly fulfilling an obligation to the party, but he proved me wrong. Usually I hate being wrong, but this time, I couldn't be happier. Thanks, Bill.

Saad from NJ   August 28th, 2008 9:59 am ET

It truly was. I said it all along. He is a legend. Yes he acted a little out of his legendary character on more than a few occasions on the campaign trail, perhaps because he badly wanted his wife to win but that does not take away from the fact that he is one of the most charismatic personalities and perhaps the most ardent speakers of our time. He has proved that consistently over time. People who disagree with the above are just jealous of him, maybe not consciously but perhaps in their subconscious.

Nick   August 28th, 2008 9:59 am ET

Wow, what a turn around in these blogs. I am glad the Clintons are finally getting the repect they deserve from Obama supporters. I guess now that you took the time to listen to the Clintons, you can see why 18 million of us voted for Hillary.

proud army and navy mom   August 28th, 2008 9:59 am ET

Veterans are also skeptical of McCain's plans because as a senator, he has repeatedly voted against fully funding veterans' health care. In 2005 and 2006, McCain voted against expanding mental health care and readjustment counseling for service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. He also voted against efforts to expand inpatient and outpatient treatment for injured veterans, and against proposals to lower the copayments and enrollment fees that veterans must pay to obtain prescription drugs.

Here is the another reason not to vote for John Mccain:

The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America gave McCain a D+ when they scored his voting record, whereas Obama got a B+. In addition McCain has voted with the interests of Disabled American Veterans only 20 percent of the time.

"If McCain would work to properly fund VA care, there would be no issue about a VA card," said Larry Scott, who edits the Web site VAWatchdog.org. "McCain, by wanting to give vets private care, is walking away from the VA and ignoring the problem. He is admitting that he will not properly fund the VA to the level where it can care for all qualified vets. "

I must say I was more than impressed with Bill's speech last night, possibly more so than Hillary's. He seemed to be back to his old self...confident, focused and humorous. Too bad he wasn't always that way during the primaries.....

Bill Clinton's speech was masterful and gripping, proving once again that once you can fake sincerity and don't allow the facts to get in the way of a good propoganda piece, anything is possible.

I have not yet seen anything to persuade me that Senator Obama is not a good, honest man of vision and integrity. But his performance at the Saddleback Church Civil Forum just confirmed that he is completely wrong on every one of the issues from increasing taxes to not defeating evil to when human rights are bestowed upon a baby. Gives a good speech, but does not have the leadership and judgment that I want in my president.

CNN = Jerry Springer of news   August 28th, 2008 9:53 am ET

I must admit, I was quite worried about this convention and the possible drama from the Clintons, but they both were amazing!! Monday Michelle Obama gets the chance to show America what she is really all about. On Tuesday, Hillary gives the most genuine speech I have seen and threw in some great lines agaist McCain/Bush. Yesterday afternoon the dramatic (yet staged) delegate vote count where Hillary is able to send Obama over the top. Then, Bill really gets the crowd going with praise for Obama I did not think he could utter, much less make believable. Kerry and Biden's speeches attacking McCain...All is building a crescendo for tomorrow night's acceptance speech.

Bill and Hillary – you might have just renewed my belief the Democratic Party is really a family with common goals for the common good. Thank you for your service and let's get on with getting Obama elected President!!

Matthew   August 28th, 2008 9:53 am ET

Hillary and Bill did what they had to do and they did it better than I could have imagined. When Obama loses now, it's all on him. No excuses and no blaming the Clintons.

Rob Johnson   August 28th, 2008 9:52 am ET

Good job Bill! You made me remember why I voted for you. I was glad to see him go above and beyond the call of duty, basically saying that Obama is as prepared to be President as he was in 1992, and he is ready for the office. Coming from one of 2 living Demorcrats who know what they are talking about on this issue, that is huge.

Did this heal all the wounds? Maybe not. I'm sure some of Hillary's supporters may still vote for McCain. Many of them are more anti-Obama than they are pro-Clinton, and nothing will change that.

However, anybody who doesn't think last night was a VERY good night for the Democrats and Obama is fooling themselves. Not in my wildest dreams did I imagine this convention would go so well.

To quote Bush, BRING IT ON!

fabulous speech; bill as well as hillary, which i am a supporter of; and after all is said and done – this democrat will vote – republican – but bill, let us not forget that when you ran for president, you had 12 years as a governor, and your wife was first lady, your resume was extensive, which obama, well what does he have – oprah – be honest!

Till yesterday, the Clintons, Joe Biden and every body else were saying that Obama was not ready to be the Commander-in-Chief, he lacked experience, and those sort of things; and look today, everybody is singing psalms of Obama, he’s the most qualified, the most wise (next to King Solomon of course) , the most experienced and such.

What has changed? Did Obama undergo a crash course in all these, or is it the way it works in politics?

You know the sham he tried selling to us with his experience that every economist in the country said was a bad plan and Barack agreed.

The difference between Obama and Bill? Bill Clinton was a former Gov. who had managed a state economy. Bill Clinton was, and is charismatic. Bill Clinton can think on his feet, without a prepared speech, I never heard Bill hum haw his way through any of the debates. I will wait and see how Obama does in the debates with McCain. I like Joe Biden, I don't like Obama. Today we will hear nothing except MLK and his dream, and how MLK paved the way for Obama to be where he is today. I am sick of this RACE..

Politics is so amazing. The Clintons deliver.....but everything is not what it appeared....they delivered for Obama to save the "Clinton Brand." Practical and symbolic, they support Obama and at the same time "redeem" themselves in the eyes of the Democratic Party. The Clintons were very crafty and masterful in channeling a "positive resentment for Obama," at the same time repairing some of the kitchen sink that was tossed during the primaries......a win for the Clinton, and a falsehood for Obama.......but beware, two speeches doesn't necessarily qualify the Clinton's redempetion. You can always touch the spots of the leopards, but you can never move them.

Mickey the fish you're dead on! They will find a republican posing as a puma, or a so called Democrat from West Virginia, they will find what ever is left of that hateful selfish group that could care less about the issues and try to make it as though there is still a divide.

Listen good republicans, if there is any sense of divide left, me and all the college students will break the tie, there will be a new voting block come November, and it will be huge, it will be your very children! The college vote, the younger vote will break the tie and break it BIG, and we will take back our future because we arn't blinded by hate like the older generation, we fight for our future healthcare and wage's, we fight for the issues. So you Puma's and republicans can cry all you want because the college kids, your very children know better!

It is interesting how some people look for the smallest thing and then claim someone is a hypocrite or wasn't sincere. I am and always have been an Obama supporter but I have to say, the Clintons have done their job unifying the party. I also understand Hillary's supporters are disappointed. They worked hard for her and its hard to see something like that end. What I don't understand are the Hillary supporters who say they will go against her wishes and vote for McCain. Did you not hear what that gracious woman said? She does not want McCain in office. She is pleading with you to vote for Obama. If you truly were a Hillary supporter, you should do what she asks. If you still want to vote for McCain after having all the facts, you did not truly support her because McCain has opposite views that she does. Wake up or we will have four more years of the same.

As far as Michelle's reaction to people. If people weren't so intent on saying she doesn't like this or that, she's an angry woman, watch her all the time, even when Barack is speaking. That is just the way she looks. Its not a sneer, its not anger, its just her face, a beautiful one at that I might add.

Pres. Clinton was fantastic, but why put him on before John Kerry what a slap in the face since Kerry was the biggest flip/flopper and did nothing for the Dem. party nomination in 2004. Pres. Clinton should have been on right before Biden to introduce him since Kerry was a loser and did not win the Presidency vs. Bill Clinton. The Clinton's as good as they are cannot carry the election for Obama

And yes I did see Michelle's face when Clinton was getting the standing ovation, her smile was as face as good be. If Bill haden't

It was a shameful display of hypocrisy. Both Clintons know that Obama does no have what it takes and that really he is a lightweight who has accomplished nothing in his political career. I have always been a Clinton supporter but am disappointed that they once again have decided to lie to the Party faithful in trying to convince folks that Obama is worthy. I am a lifelong Democrat who will not support Obama. He is an egomaniac who has his own best interest at heart rather than the best interests of the nation. I don’t think that he is necessarily the better of two evils. I think either candidate is going to be a disaster. The only difference is that McCain would have the Democratic congress putting the brakes on. This congress will be a rubber stamp for anything that Obama wants. That is a scary thought.

I cannot wait to cast my vote for this brilliant peacemaker who has shown sound judgement, a caring for ordinary americans and a foresight that we have not seen in a long while. Mickey the Fish   August 28th, 2008 8:59 am ET

I'll be surprised if the media doesn't continue to try to pick away at the Clintons and their "divisiveness." They'll find a PUMA somewhere, still clinging, and claim that the party is still divided, because they want a story. The Clintons will campaign for Obama, but Bill will develop a tick or something, and the media will claim he has reservations. Just watch

Earl   August 28th, 2008 8:58 am ET

I find it funny these people who call themselves PUMAs. If you really care about your country, and are not a self-centered person, you would stick with the Democrat. If you want 4 more years of Bush, and think the country is in great shape, go ahead and vote for McCain. People who refuse to vote Democratic simply because Hillary is not the monimnee need to do a reality check. Hillary said it herself – if you voted for her in the primary she thanks you, but now is the time to elect someone who at least has 90% in common in with her platform, not someone who has 5%.

Bill Clinton's speech was excellent! The Republicans said he was too young when he ran and the economics of the US was never better than when he was the President. I hope America can put aside its racism and elect the right person for the job.

Mike, TX   August 28th, 2008 8:58 am ET

Good speech, but his tone of voice reminded me of the "I did not have sexual relations..." moment of his presidency.

He is still a good liar though, calling Obama "ready" last night. Bill must believe that America is strong enough to withstand the disaster of an Obama adminstration long enough for Hillary to take it back in 2012.

Janey/Michigan   August 28th, 2008 8:58 am ET

Carol, Michigan   August 28th, 2008 8:56 am ET

Another excellent night and a fantastic speech and endorsement from Bill.

Now since the Republicans need the Democrats divided to win, let the ripping apart on Bills speech, Michelles reaction, body posture, etc, etc begin.

4, 3, 2, 1......

Michele   August 28th, 2008 8:55 am ET

WOW one minute people hate Bill Clinton and his family the next he was great he had a great presidency and so on and so forth why could we not see that from day one and just know that his wife was running for President and they were playing politics just like Obama and his family and just like Biden and his family but the Clintons were worse let everyone tell it......Hypocracy

Zyedeco   August 28th, 2008 8:55 am ET

Bill thanks for your support. If any one can unite this party you can. I had some reservations about you after a tuff primary seaon. Please continue to help get the White House Back in the hands of the democractic party.

Doug R.   August 28th, 2008 8:55 am ET

The Republicans are scared to death of November 08. They have already abandoned the very worst President and V.P. in U.S. history. A change is coming folks. Go ahead, McCain, pick Mittens Romney or Joe LIEberman. Losers. Dems will get 10 Senate seats and 35 to 40 House seats AND the White House.
McCain is a fraud.

Bill From Florida   August 28th, 2008 8:54 am ET

I was not really impressed with Kerry's speech, he just dosen't
have the spark Bill Clinton has. The speeches from the canidates that lost when they were running for office dosen't knock your socks off
like the speeches from the Clinton's. Both Hillary and Bill speeches
will go down in history, while Kerry is probably already forgotten.
KUDO TO THE CLINTONS,JOB WELL DONE.

Billy   August 28th, 2008 8:53 am ET

Bill proved he is still a heavy hitter.

Good speech, now let's elect a person who will move this country in the right direction, Barack Obama!

RC   August 28th, 2008 8:51 am ET

Great speach. Loved it.

Linda from Prescott AZ   August 28th, 2008 8:51 am ET

It was a fabulous evening for the Democratic Party. I am proud of all the participants.
Now let's roll up those sleeves and get our nominee and his running mate elected.
There will be a democrat in the white house come January 20, 2009

James From Chicago   August 28th, 2008 8:48 am ET

Listening to Bill Clinton's speech I got goose bumps. If he were runnung for President , no doubt he would win hands down He was the best President this country has ever had. I like Biden ,but His
speech did not move me like Hillary and Bill. They knocked it out of the
ball park. McCain is going to win this election and there goes our chance for a democrat to take office, people are just not going to vote
for Obama. Did you seee Michelle Obama's face when Bill Clinton
got a 3 minute standing ovation from the crowd. Her face said it all.

Jim   August 28th, 2008 8:48 am ET

Bill Clinton did an amazing job! I am an Obama supporter but I have enourmous respect for him, and it was slipping by before because I got cought up in the emmotions but Bill Clinton brought me back to reality, reminded me what we as democrats are fighting for. He is the man! His presidency was so great, the 90's were amazing, and I can't wait to bring that back. Democrats fixed the republican mess in 92, now it's time to do it again. All these republicans are good at is creating one giant mess and bringing our country back 20+ years!

PlJones   August 28th, 2008 8:48 am ET

Clinton, was excellent, he did what needed to be done, and I give him 2 thumbs up..

Thanks Bill Clinton, for throwing your support Behind Barack Obama, & Joe Biden our Next President & Vice President.....

God Bless Everyone & God Bless America and Abroad....

davidoff   August 28th, 2008 8:47 am ET

I think that Bill's speech was way way way better than his wife's, unifying, and praised all the best of the Democrats candidate, Barack Obama. Thanks, president Clinton.

Sandy   August 28th, 2008 8:45 am ET

So, the Clintons come through big time for the party; quite a contrast to the way Teddy lost to Carter. Hmmm, interesting to see a couple who know how to lose with grace and dignity and also interesting to see the pundits kissing up to them after villifying them for the last several months. I guess they need them now as surrogates. What a bunch of hypocrites!

Republicans Hate America   August 28th, 2008 8:44 am ET

fear not PUMAs are really just a bunch of desperate republicans that all they can do is cling on to this reverse psychology in hopes to psyc out the democrats to thinking this be the case and without them McCain will win. All you morons are doing is ensuring our turn out for Obama.

Sue   August 28th, 2008 8:44 am ET

Bill did a grat job with his speech. I felt his message. I cannot wait until the trolls start attacking him and the Obama's with their hate laden fearful little post. The democrats are back! As an Independent voter, I am PROUD to stand with the Democrats this November! Obama/Biden 08!
