Al Gore spoke to the crowd Thursday.

DENVER (CNN) – Al Gore walked in, and the feet-stomping, flag-waving crowd went crazy. Now an Oscar and Nobel Prize winner, he is garnering the kind of excitement he struggled to get during his presidential bid in 2000. A source says Gore has offered to campaign for Obama, and that he will.

Al Gore should have been president. He, like Obama, has a social conscience and would have put the common good first and foremost. His speech tonight was a call to action. Americans must elect Obama as the next president.

Sue   August 28th, 2008 11:54 pm ET

I thought his speech was great! I think he knows what he's talking about and I hope President Obama will get him into the Cabinet in a position where Gore can actually get something done about this environmental crisis.

sandy   August 28th, 2008 11:51 pm ET

He was great! Yes, we missed the boat having him as a president, was a great VP. We can not miss this year. Go Oboma!

Independant/Iowa   August 28th, 2008 11:45 pm ET

Geting a nobel prize for his short vidio is something that puts the Nobel Prize in the dumpster. This prize had many many better qualified person that were dumped for a has been polititian/

Where was Tipper Gore? They did not show her like the other wives.

anonymous republican   August 28th, 2008 11:39 pm ET

Al Gore gave a great speach. He is telling the truth about this global warming bit. Hopefully he and Barack Obama can get to work on these issues soon.

JFK   August 28th, 2008 11:28 pm ET

While he should have been President, he is an amazing man! Gore has proven his devotion to helping our country and the world.

GeeMac   August 28th, 2008 11:13 pm ET

GORE was great! he said what needed to be said…..instead of criticizing him all Americans and people around the world need to heed the message…..great job!

Marie/Michigan   August 28th, 2008 10:48 pm ET

NOW DO YOU THINK HE WOULD BE TREATED ANY OTHER WAY.

FOR HE IS PROMISED , TO BE THERE AN HOLD THE QUARM FOR THE MUSLIM , IN THE MOVIE WHEN THEY SWEAR HIM IN . IT WILL BE ON DVD , FOR THIS IS HOLLYWOOD AT PRIME TIME . WITH THE MEDIA IN THERE FINEST HOUR..

PAID FOR BY PRO - IRAN , THAT HAVE SUPPORTED BIDEN FOR MANY YEARS.

A VOTE FOR THE FLIP FLOPS , IS A VOTE FOR IRAN.

NClaw441   August 28th, 2008 9:56 pm ET

Biden supported the war in Iraq. Obama chose him as VP. Has Obama flip-flopped, or is he just hedging his bets?

Obama does not have the first clue about national security. I hope he does not get the chance to learn on the job. We will be vulnerable.

heidi   August 28th, 2008 9:43 pm ET

Shame on you CNN for doing your little talk up with all of your people while the "American Voices" segment was on, that is what "we the people" want to hear NOT your comments on the McCain Ads…..

Denise   August 28th, 2008 9:42 pm ET

Good job, Al!

Obama/Biden   August 28th, 2008 9:36 pm ET

McCain like Bush will bring more threat to our country. Obama/Biden ticket is very strong on national security and Biden as well as Obama is well respected around the world. Obama has better judgment on every single issues that we need on a president than mccain. That is why we must vote Democratic this November to prevent a second 9/11 and have someone who is ready for what ever decission to defend our national security in case of any plot.
Do not listen to the republican scare tactics and believe anything they have to say. The republican is the party we as voters should stay away from this November. They have done enough to our country and the economy and we cannot afford for more years of economic disasters and begging China to lend us money.

Patricia   August 28th, 2008 9:36 pm ET

The Democratic Party is united…… surprise, Republicans…. you have been trying to tell us what to believe, what to think, and how to feel. Too bad. We win, you lose.

And of course, McCain will do anything to get the attention away from Obama. Too late, you can't…. unless the media let you. And nothing surprises me any more.

Right now he is getting wild praise from the media…. another attention getter that CNN will milk for all it is worth. I think McCain has gotten more free advertisement during the Democratic Convention than they ever could pay for. Obscene….. I will watch the Republican Convention to see if it is Tit for Tat.

Anyone who gets up and speaks proudly in support of Obama is a rock star. Even if they can't play and instrument or sing in tune.

Joe   August 28th, 2008 9:11 pm ET

ALL men and women of good faith must rise up for a change enough is enough. Gop and all blood suckers must go!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a challenge to Humanity!, no doubt.
ALL the lies, ALL the spining, all the blood spill, ALL THE KILLING MUST COMES TO AN END., ALL the war mongers must be stop and put to their place.

No going back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!now or never

Michelle Cabral   August 28th, 2008 9:10 pm ET

Al Gore demonstrated once again what an honorable and visionary statesman he is. His speech was nothing less than spectacular, if a tad hurried. Still, his message conveyed wisdom, as well as an urgency for voters to urgently vote for change that will be for the welfare of our nation and for our own personal well being.
Bravo.

jerry   August 28th, 2008 9:09 pm ET

How many dumb people can get in one building?

ER Hopkins   August 28th, 2008 9:09 pm ET

I noticed that Mr. Gore slipped his film in to his speech and also his views of global warming. I thought this convention was about supporting the candidate. Lincoln was not the only President from IL. Has Mr. Gore forgotten about President Reagan?? He might have been a republican but let us look back on his approval ratings.

JT from TN   August 28th, 2008 9:07 pm ET

Absolutely Al G ore would of been and should've been the decending president. He is a pioneer on climate change.

Peter of Oregon   August 28th, 2008 9:07 pm ET

He's a good man. Still doesn't connect with the American, but he's genuine and I know he's sincere about what he professes. Compare that to Bush and McCain.

Zafar Brooks   August 28th, 2008 9:06 pm ET

Al Gore is a great American Hero. What an America we could have had right now if the election wasn't stolen from him. Thank you Al for what you have done for America and our Planet.

No Hillary = No Obama   August 28th, 2008 9:05 pm ET

All these MALE peacocks - As far as I'm concerned Obama was given preferential treatment and does not deserve his inflated nomination. No vote here for Mr. Wannabe. It's a write-in for Hillary in November.

Linda31   August 28th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

We missed the ball once with Gore, we can't to it again. We just can't.

Brad   August 28th, 2008 9:03 pm ET

Who blew Gore up like a balloon ? He looks like Biteman Zeetman !!!!
