Is there really a story here? Whay does some quote from Tucker Bounds in 2000 have to do with a storm today? What does a Tropical Storm have to do with Republican politics? This is nonscense.

Reminds of when McCain celebrated his 69th birthday with Bush as Katrina hit.

That hurricane that destroyed the Ninth Ward. That place that John McCain has visited twice.

The unpredictable nature of tropical storms has the GOP in a bind: If they postpone the convention the storm might fizzle and they will look like a bunch of alarmist hillbillies. If they don't and Gustav causes widespread damages it will detract media attention and invite comparisons with the hands-off approach of the Bush administration during the Katrina disaster.

There's a storm coming, and not just a hurricane. While I do not wish anyone any harm, it would be sweet irony to see the GOP have to pack up or delay it's convention after the way they blew the Katrina debacle, and turned their back on so many people who lost everything.
