Anonymous August 28th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Maybe it's an ad telling the truth and coherently laying out his policy positions and why he believes he'll make a better president than Barak Obama.

It would certainly be unprecedented for him.
-------------

I hope you aren't holding your breath on that one!

I live in a battleground state and appreciate the warning not to watch the Convention on national TV so I can skip McCain's ad - one of a half dozen that only talk about negatives and are as un-dynamic as they come. It is much more fun to watch the ads for free on cable news, listening to the talking heads discuss them over and over again - Ugh! Thank goodness for CSPAN and PBS.

If there's a "real" Obama that you people don't know - wouldn't you want to know - don't you care if he changes position on everything you voted for him for? Most of you voted for him because he said "no war" from the very beginning - but now he wants to continue on in Pakastan or maybe even Russia. There's so many flip flops and so many ties to bad, bad people and none of you seem to care. What does Obama have to do to get you people to see who he really is? Murder? would you then keep sticking up for him? god wake up.

You have Pop Culture Politics coming out of your camp like crazy and you are fussing about the timing of an add....please!

I use to have respect for McCain. I am disappointed, I was undecided. McCain has stoop to a new Karl Rove low. I am now voting for Obama.
He really is a Bush 3rd term.

My hunch is that McCain is about to pick Mutt Flip Flop Romney. He is the sleaziest of them all. I think the McCain people will succumb to Romney's dirty style.

Ask Romney's former Lt. Gov Kerry "Muffy" Healy what happened to her against Deval Patrick. She got trounced because she adopted Romney's Dirty tactics.

I SAY BRING IT ON JOHN!!!!!

"Exciting and unprecedented?"

The only thing that I can think of is that someone in the Republican Party might actually SPEAK THE TRUTH for the first time in 20 years....

John, can you say "popularity envy?" What else will you do to upstage the guy after you said you "rejoice" in his VP pick? Drop some daisy cutters in Denver?

I hope there's a new ad every day from the DNC during the Neocon Hate Fest next week...

Poor poor McCain, most of his ads distort Obama's policies, such as the ad in which McCain mentions that Obama will raise taxes- anyone notice that Obama would raise the taxes on those who can afford to pay more? McCain surely seems to try to distort everything in a desperate attempt to win the presidency.

Notice that all of the rants are from scared Democrats. Either way Hillary Clinton wins, if Barack wins, he'll go down in flames and we'll see Hillary 2012. If McCain wins, he'll go down in flames and we'll see HIllary 2012.

Either way you cut it, whoever is President is just warming the seat for Hillary in 4 years. So deal with it.

I am excited to see President McCain's new advertisement!

I have been severely disappointed by the Democratic National Convention. The dishonest and immoral speakers have not once mentioned how they intend to lead our nation back to GOD. My prayer is that President McCain, with his loyalty to the pro-life position and his opposition to sodomite marriages, will be instrumental in guiding our nation back to basic principles of decency.

It will probably be another of McCains dirty adds trying to upstage
Obama. From a corageous war hero, McCain has certainly sunk
to the level of petty mean old man. What a shame. He has become
so low down and dirty it is embarasing to have him as a fellow American never mind a Persidential contender. .

Oh Well, Next McCain will accuse the NFL of scheduling the opening of the football season on Thursday September 4th at 7:00 PM as purposely drawing attention away from the Republican Convention.

Oh, thank God, something good to watch that night in liu of the convention!!!

I cant wait to see it! i cant wait to see what the chicago annenburg challenge reveals and I cant wait to hear obama tell us who he really is. when everyone else in this country has to define him then obviously he doesnt want us to know what he is really all about. hes thinking,
"lets get everyone registered, lets talk about change and hope and maybe no one will care what i truly think about this country and its people"

As long as i have to hear him defined by radio talk show hosts then i have no choice but to beleive that hes not the man for the job.

You people are obviously new to the political process in this country, these people are campaigning for the Presidency, it is his job to get his point across and detract from his competitor, it would be like an attorney being negligent in defense of his client if McCain did not respond during the Democratic convention and they will do the same next week, stop trying to overpower the process, if you all were paying attention to the process before this year when you drank the kool-aid you would have a grasp of how these things work. A mind a truly a terrible thing to waste. Goodness Gracious.

This is just another example of dirty politics as usual. Can anyone answer this question:

These supporters of Sen McCain are the same people that supported Pres. Bush right? So, where is the change and the maverick?

Nothing, no dirty tricks, lies, jealousy or any other un-Amercian spirit will keep us from ridding ourselves of the Repulicans. Hey, here's another question:
Will McCain have the intestinal fortitude to select the VP he really wants, or does Limbaugh have to approve his choice?

I think McCain could probrbly sit back and never do another commercial and still win. I really thought with the Clintons as Powerful
as they are could get people to rally around Obama, but it's not working. Obama is just not the people's choice. Maybe next time around..He does not have the experience to lead this country, not even with Biden as VP,

The reason McCain has to do negative ads is because
the media has failed to do its job. SOMEBODY has to get the truth out about Obama.

I bet CNN doesn't have the guts to post this comment.

awesome post... do NOT dispair... most of the co-ordinate hate you read is from paid republicans to spread smears, lies, half-truths, and innuendo. They have no record to run on. It is all they have. yes, there are die hard Republicans. But when you read the venomous SWILL these people write, just consider the source.

The good news is people like you and I and millions more are NOT falling for it THIS time.

More spineless whining from the Obamabots, I see... "McCain keeps attacking, waaah!" Deal with it. Maybe if Obama didn't have so many chips in his armor of "change", there would be less to attack, and maybe he'd have more support than screaming university pseudo-intellectuals and and self-hating Americans who wish they lived in Canada.

And I'm sure CNN will over-cover it and analize it to death, like they do with every other morsel of drama - aka "news"

With people like McCain and the rest ot the GOP, I still cannot even understand why this race is close. Have we not learned from the last 8 years of Bush.

I think the competitiveness of this race is due to at least either or both of the following.

1) Much of America is still "Prejudice" against Barack in some way I don't want to play the race card-but if the shoe fits.

Or

2) Americans are just plain idiots, to continue to repeat the same mistakes that we made by electing Bush.

How Presidential McCain. He is getting so desperate that nothing is beneath him.

He continues to turn me off with his childish behavior. And to think i voted for him in the primaries in 2000.

YES WE CAN

McCain has a new ad out attacking Obama's kids and refers to them as brats in an interview. Get the whole story at the Huffington Post web site. You won't see it here.
