Whoever McCain picks for VP will have an easy time doing better for the Republican ticket than Biden. Obama was up 3 to 4 in the polls before Biden. Now the polls show a tie. And it is probably tied because Obama is getting a tiny bump from convention. Without that McCain would be up by 2 or 3. Biden has cost Obama at least 4 points in the polls. Good move Obama! Biden will eat up the Republicans, yah right. Bring it on. There aren't any Republicans scared of Obama/Biden. Just another Gore/Liberman or Kerry/Edwards. They went down too. Been there done that.

It has to be Romney because you don't have the stones to go Pro-Choice. As soon as that happens, Moveon.org will come back with the same type of ads with Romney laughing at you and you calling him a PIG.

Also, Romney's mormonism won't play well in the south and while McCain will still win the south, if the numbers can come out in GA, it may be in play.

Pawlenty is a walking mullet. Nobody knows him. They will be like, "WHO?"

Truthfully, I wished McCain would pick ole Rudy G...

Maybe we can get the crew from CHEATERS to confront you on both of your affairs.

Dear CNN Moderator, even though you may not share my views please post my comments as they follow the CNN Comment Policy and I post the truth. Sometimes truth hurts, such is life, but it's your responsibility to provide an unadulterated reporting of the news with journalistic integrity.

I believe that either two things are going on in the McCain campaign. Either he's scrambling to pick a VP in response to Obama's choice. We've seen his following Obama's leadership throughout this campaign, we've seen his dependance on Obama. Or, perhaps McCain's advisors have slected a VP for him, but still haven't told him who he or she will be. In this case it's quite understandable that all of the advisors at the meeting know who it'll be, but McCain doesn't, a day before he's suppose to reveal who that person is.

Either way... the fact remains that while McCain may have been a good soldier, he's no leader.

I don't know what it is about Romney, but I can't stand him! He seems like the kind of man who treats his household help poorly, is rude to store clerks and new waiters. I don't get that same vibe about McCain.

"Up To the last minute, McSame still can not make the most important decision; of who his VP will be. So how can we trust him to be there for American, to make a swift decision if he is to be president.?"

Oh, please! This is such nonsense. Obama supporters have nothing better to do than bash, bash, bash. This is no different than all the stupid and conflicting reports the media put out on Obama's choice. It went on and on until CNN finally announced it was Biden.

I agree with sophiedog, McCain's puppeteers have already picked his VP, they just haven't told the candidate yet. McCain has not made any decisions for himself in months. When he was answering questions on his own he was spewing too many gaffes, so his handlers have reigned him in. I am really looking forward to the debates between McCain/Obama and Biden and whoever he is going to eat for lunch. The hoopla for the Republican VP is going to be a big letdown if any of the frontrunners are picked.

I love how his campaign tried to outright lie to steal the spotlight. They are liars, and they want us to reward them by nominating another president for 3 years in a row now, Bill Clinton was right. And so was Hillary, no way no how!

Really CNN, you can't get a headline right. Then you say in a headline on Obama's speach tonight "Obama expected to address change in speech". Really that man who is for chainging the change that is changing change may talk about change when starting his campaign on change? That's a change. I hope he doesn't change his mind and force CNN to change it's headline.

I'm so proud of President Clinton and Hillary -- even more I'm proud of those of you who have acknowledged how important the Clinton's are to our party and country. Bill was a fantastic president -- and Bill was right, Obama will be a great leader as well. Thank you!!

The Clintons reminded me being an American is the most important thing. Emotions were high all around and things were said that most of us really didn't mean. We are a family; we will fight, we will disagree, and in the end, we'll do what's right for our country.

The Republicans do owe us an apology...

The so-called leak that McCain had decided who his running mate would be was clearly orchestrated b.s. by McCain staffers to distract from Biden's speech last night. I was very disappointed in CNN for biting on this "leak". Besides, who cares if he decided or didn't decide if no one knows what the decision was? That's not news. That's just manipulation of a gullible media for political purposes. I thought CNN was smarter than that.

"As a Republican - I think McCain is a good guy - no real issues with him….he's not the waffling demon he was made out to be while watching the Democrats bash him - however - I am still supporting Obama for President…as much as I hate siding with Clintons….Obama is what the country needs now…"

And its the same case with me!

I am a democrat-leaning independent, but will be voting for John McCain. I think he has the integrity that this country's political atmosphere currently needs. I just wish his supporters were smart enough to realize that and act accordingly. If McCain doesn't feel the need to make crude attacks on his opponent to win this election, why do his supporters? Focus on the issues; there is more than enough right there that points to the fact that McCain should be the next president. This message is particularly targeted to you Christopher Lester.

Who Cares. This is a man (McCain) who cheated on his first wife, Carol, numerous times. When Carol was partially crippled in a car accident, John McCain filed for divorce. In fact, he registered for a marriage license in Arizona in order to marry Cindy before his divorce with Carol was even final.

This is the man who says he always puts his country first? Sounds to me like he puts himself first.

Interesting to see how the McCain campaign played CNN last night on this "Breaking News" in an effort disrupt their live coverage of the Democratic convention. John King even had two Blackberries going at the same time.

It will also be interesting to see how many of these stunts CNN will allow McCain to try to pull.

CNN, next time, double check your sources when they come from the McCain's camp!

McCain doesn't know who his VP is because he left the name in one of his houses, but he can't remember which one.
