(CNN) - The Associated Press mistakenly reported earlier Thursday McCain did a radio interview with KDKA radio in Pittsburgh where he told that station that he had not yet decided on a running mate.

CNN has confirmed that interview was taped on Wednesday. The Associated Press has now run a correction.

So what you are saying is that you have to be almost dead before you get some kind of medical coverage in the "EMERGENGY ROOM" of the closest hospital? In the real world, not in McCain's world, prevention of the action is better than the action. This really applies for everything in life. In politics as in medicine. in war as in peace, in stupidity as in wisdom. I will leave it as that. I know a lot of people will get my point including republicans that I'm sure would wish that ideas like this one would never have come out to the public.

Reasonable Observer   August 28th, 2008 4:29 pm ET

Some of these comments are funny!! The mistake was made by the PRESS, not McCain. Regardless of that the ageist comments routinely posted by Obama supported are telling.

"I am voting for a cool, young dude, not that old, wrinkly, senile,(add your favorite derogatory ageist term here) McCain," said the Obama supporter.

McCain will pick a woman and I believe it will be Kay Bailey Hutchinson. Elizabeth Dole is too old like McCain, but then Kay Bailey Hutchinson is do spring chicken.
McCain needs someone who can remind him what he is saying is not right for he is in the early stages of dementia.
You do not believe me, then listen to how many times he gets people and things and countries mixed up. If he is not repeating something he has already said he has trouble.
We need some one who can think quickly and make a decision now instead of having to go to his advisors and let them write down what he needs to do.

McCain is still short of his 10,000 audience goal for his VP announcement. No wonder it kills the GOP to see 85,000 plus in Oregon; 200,000 in Berlin; possibly 76,000 plus in denver; the spectacular gothic style stage in Mile-high stadium. Did you see the high tech setting at the Pepsi center?

Is Sherry in Atlanta the only commenter here who actually read the article? The AP's incorrectly reported that the interview occurred a day later than it actually did, suggesting that McCain had contradicted himself about whether he had selected his running mate. The error was the AP's, not McCain's. And CNN is just reporting their correction. Sheesh!

Vicky   August 28th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

Lots of hostility in the posts...not to mention all the misspellings, etc. It is hard to take such misspelled rhetoric seriously.

If you want to influence other readers to give weight to why you support either Obama or McCain, you really need to quote facts and write in a legible manner.

If I were undecided on a candidate at this point, none of your posts would actually convince me one way or another. Try harder.

Obama/Biden   August 28th, 2008 2:19 pm ET

McCain like Bush will bring more threat to our country. Obama/Biden ticket is very strong on national security and Biden as well as Obama is well respected around the world. Obama has better judgment on every single issues that we need on a president than mccain. That is why we must vote Democratic this November to prevent a second 9/11 and have someone who is ready for what ever decission to defend our national security in case of any plot.
Do not listen to the republican scare tactics and believe anything they have to say. The republican is the party we as voters should stay away from this November. They have done enough to our country and the economy and we cannot afford for more years of economic disasters and begging China to lend us money.

Emma, San Jose, CA   August 28th, 2008 2:17 pm ET

Did you know? McCain was hostile in a TIME interview – became hot under the collar when asked to explain current vs. former positions on issues. Did you also know? McCain is preparing an ad to show in battleground states, criticizing Obama's children and asking, "Are they ready to lead?" We need to stop this childish, unethical, untruthful movement!

I will surprised if you post this ad.

Rudy NYC   August 28th, 2008 2:15 pm ET

I think the forgotten story of how McCain called for combat troops on Day 1 on of the Georgia crisis is more important than this. The Russians probably dug in deeper and further because of it. Even Bush was not loose enough to call for military action on Day 1.

The Georgian President, Saa....li, called for McCain to send in the troops he promised, and John McCain went silent on the subject. He backed of to merely condemning the Russians, which McCain had criticized Obama for doing.

That was a real international crisis. The "experienced" war veteran saw a combat situation. The "inexperienced" statesman said the same thing the rest of the world said

NO WAY NO HOW NO MCCAIN.

kim hussein smith   August 28th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

this "story" is about as interesting as john mccain!

Tucker Bounds   August 28th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

Jon McCain hasn't decided on a running mate yet?

Well, for five and a half years, John McCain could not run, nor have a mate, nor was he allowed to make a decision... IN A POW CAMP!

SURGE!

McCain / TBA (after Matlock) '08

Jeronimo!   August 28th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

Too much deceit and misdirection... now the GOP's gone and confused the old man.

karen-phoenix   August 28th, 2008 1:40 pm ET

I'm a recovering republican–The Man is tooooo old!!! He lives in the 20th century and has wound up taking on ALL of the Bush/Carl Rove attitudes. We, intelegent republicans will NO LONGER stand for this!!! This is my country–NOT Carl Roves or corporate America! Go away old man!!! And I'm in my 60's.

Mike   August 28th, 2008 1:40 pm ET

I love you dorks that talk about the houses comment. I actually love Romney's response when he was asked the same thing "I have 1 less than John Kerry". If you idiots don't think all politicians have a lot of money, houses, cars, stocks, etc, you're completely lost.

alex   August 28th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

I voted republican all my life and I am 62 years old but I love my grand children that's why I want them to eat three meals a day and that's why I want to vote OBAMA
I have enough from the grocery high prices

John in Ohio   August 28th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

Senior moment.

Shari, NY   August 28th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

Doesn't matter, people who can think for themselves have already made up their minds who they are voting for. As II said before, next week's weather news will partially obliterate the convention. Mark my words!

Anna. Miami, Fl.   August 28th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

This makes just about as much sense as John McCain's campaign.

mel from Ohio   August 28th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

Cancelled for lack of interest?!

Tim   August 28th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

Please, please let it be Romney!!!! I can't wait. There are videos upon videos of him and McSenile going at each other!!! Also, he made his money by investment deals in which lots of people lost jobs. Not to mention the tapes of Huckabee slamming him as a mistake for VP!!! But hey, if he is the best the Repubs can do, what choice do they have?

KC   August 28th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

Yea right.

Enlightened Voter   August 28th, 2008 1:35 pm ET

who cares? And people quit with the no experience thing, they (the repuglicans) said the same thing about Clinton....GWB had experience, enough said on that....Obama has 8 yrs as Illinois Senator and 4 as US Senator. Someone on another blog said he only had 1 yr as senator period which is a LIE! Get your facts straight morons before you try and tear Obama down. BTW john mcsurge has never run a city, state or anything so what experience does he have to run this country other than being a POW, honestly?

RCLGuard   August 28th, 2008 1:35 pm ET

The original pick probably declined and now they have to pick someone else.

I would love it if that came out. How funny.

GOBAMA 2008 2012!!!

Kelby from Houston, TX   August 28th, 2008 1:35 pm ET

Bridgette-PA   August 28th, 2008 1:35 pm ET

??????????????????

Sally   August 28th, 2008 1:34 pm ET

Dear CNN: It's just freaking amazing how your ticker has been a constant barrage of McCain non-news today. Do you think we can't see through you? I think the winds of change are fully upon us in this great country. I think, finally THIS time, you in the 24 hour news cycle business will not be able to push your "corporate agenda" and elect the neo-cons to a third consecutive disastrous term!

Wake up America!

Obama/Biden 08 – our only hope.

susie   August 28th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

How is Obama going to help us out, when he doesn't even help his own brother who lives in a hut?

Spencer from VA   August 28th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

No one cares Old man McSame

Obama/Biden 08.

kit 'n kaboodle   August 28th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Tim   August 28th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Paul   August 28th, 2008 1:30 pm ET
