Sick of hearing McCain talk about being a POW. My husband was not a POW but did two tours of duty in Viet Nam and so did plenty of other guys. I give him credit but he is always bringing up the subject of being a POW. Give it a rest. I would never vote for him.

I agree with your positive comments about Pawlenty, Michael. He also has the image of a man of the people, having grown up in a blue-collar neighborhood and making something of himself. He's bright and articulate and holds strong to the party line. The evangelicals will prefer him over Romney. However, the Minnesota schools have suffered due to lower funding, the bridges haven't received proper maintenance (remember the 2007 bridge collapse?), unemployment rates are higher than the national average, and Minnesota's running a deficit even though it is a higher-tax state. Pawlenty doesn't bring much to the table in terms of domestic issues and certainly not foreign policy. And would he be ready to lead the country in McCain's place? Pawlenty has spent a lot of time talking about Obama's inexperience...It would be interesting to see how the campaign tactics changed if he was chosen as McCain's VP.

I too am from Minnesota, and while Pawlenty is not my first choice (Romney), neither was McCain (again, Romney). I think Pawlenty would do a fine job, and while not ultra-conservative, he can hold the line on taxes, and he's got the youth-factor going for him.

Obama has better judgment on every single issues that we need on a president than mccain. I am also from Minnesota – Tim Pawlenty has been the worst Gov. we have EVER had. (Keep in mind we had jesse Ventura as well.) The things he has done to education should be a crime. We have lost programs and people have lost houses. He probably WILL be the VP chosen and all I can say is – YOU CAN HAVE HIM – we don't want him anymore! Thank God the Republicans will lose anyway. Keep him out of Minnesota!

I'm also from Minnesota. Pawlenty has been terrible for our state. I never thought I'd prefer Jesse Ventura over anyone, but I've been proved wrong. He's been in complete agreement with everything Bush has done. I guess sucking up can get you all the way to the VP spot.

I'm from Minnesota Where Pawlenty's low taxes, have made for a bridge to fall down and people to die, umemployment is high, education ;;is down, roads are poor, people are financially hurting, We used to be one of the best states, we are quickly falling under Pawentys' rule. Five repupublicans voted to override Pawenty on a fuel tax for roads. These republicans where stripped of their commitee positions and not endoresed by the party .

Well I'm from Illinois and I can say the country will soon change their minds about Obama if they're foolish enough to elect him President. In the four years he's been our Senator he's done NOTHING except run for President. And he only became our Senator by default. The Republican candidate was booted after an investigation uncovered a sex scandal. After several weeks with no candidate they brought in Al Keyes from New Jersey, rented him a Chicago apartment and announced he was their pick to run again Obama. No contest. Obama won his State legislature seat in the same way, not a contested election.
