To anyone whom claims Obama is sexist and McCain is not, think again. Senator McCain is the sexist if anyone. He thinks he can pull a quick one on the American people and Hillary supporters in particular by merely picking a female for the VP slot. That if anything is sexist and disrectful to women, particularly Hillary supporters.
Palin has NOTHING in common with Hillary other than gender. Economy, healthcare, environment, Iraq - polar (not intentional) opposites.
McCain is the sexist so don't try pulling that. Real Hillary supporters are more intellegent than that. They were not only supporting Hillary but supporting her ideas and values - non of which that Palin has.

Take back America!
OBAMA/BIDEN - Democrats - AMERICANS

You are clearly the best.

All those that trashed you and insulted you, will rue the day that they chose to gut the best HOPE for America.

Sen. Boxer is corrrect, we Hillary supporters will not vote for John McCain because he selected Palin as his running mate. We will vote for him because he is the only candidate with enough experience, political accomplishments, honesty, and personal strength to lead our nation. Don't try to make Palin your scapegoat. She brings freshness, determination, and the novel philosophy that those who govern do so for the common good of all.

How quickly people forget. Palin, so incredibly unexperienced, only 2 years as a Governor. How about Obama, only 2 years as a senator. Why bother worrying about a possibly unqualified VP when we are on the precipice of an amazingly unqualified president in Obama?

First, if Obama wins, Hillary will probably take on a position of much more importance than VP - Secretary of State, or Attorney General. Would she survive the vetting to be a Supreme Court justice? questionable.

And, secondly, along those lines - the most lasting legacy of a president is the supreme court justice(s) he or she brings to the senate for approval. Ginsberg and Stevens are likely to leave the court during the next 8 years. They keep our court from being ultra-right wing conservative. Who do you want nominating justices in their place? That is an incredibly important reason to vote Democrat in this election. This will determine the decisions that affect your children, and their children.

No qualifications, is opposite to Hillary on the issues, and she has a young son with special needs that will require an immense amount of effort and care in his upbringing - I know, I am the dad of a similar child. Palin is running from her own child. I understand it - but it is the worst thing for her, him and the country. I am saddened by McCain's lame attempt to woo women. John, women are smarter than we are and this will not fly.

Insults! Insults!@ INSULTS. Hillary's experience and concerns for women’s can not in no way be compared to Palin. No only is this country RACIST but SEXIST as well. McCain’s choice was a PURE SLAP in the FACE to all the other REPUBLICAN WOMEN HE COULD HAVE CHOSEN! ALSO.... Wolf and Cafferty! Stop comparing Palin to Obama and HILLARY! The requirements for Vice President are very different than PRESIDENT. Why not compare Palin to Biden. McCain has had serious health issues; his age is a clear factor. I DO NOT WANT SOMEONE TO ANSWER THE CALL of Vice President if something should happen to McCain. Has she ever left the country...? WHAT AN IDIOT!

palin's problem is NOT her inexperience,

But her judgement of parading her bikini-clad body in public.

for what?

because she got nothing else to show.

to say that "mcshameless and GOP guys like rove don't get it" is

the understatement of the decade.

Wow, Barbara Boxer shows her mean colors. You can just bet that all the Democrat ladies are boiling mad that McCain made such a great choice -- while Obama picked the consumate "Washington insider" that he rails against. What change does Obama really represent? A guy who can't talk about his executive experience -- because he has none. Zero. Zip. Biden has never even run a corner store. Now the GOP has two candidates who will rip the Dems apart -- a war hero who stayed in captivity because of his men -- and a woman who has executive experience while all the while raising five children.

Working mothers, Palin for VP!!

Palin should stop comparing herself to Hillary for other than gender, she does not possess one iota of similarity to Hillary in anything else. The difference between Hillary and Palin is like day and night and anyone who thinks that Palin can and should replace Hillary is just as muddled as McSame.

I don't see why you keep referring to Barack's experience. Hilary has only served in the Senate, what, one term more than Barack, and only got elected on Name recognition of her Husband being President Being First Lady doesn't even come close to actual Presidential experience.
All those secret meetings, addressing congress, and everything else that her Husband, former President Bill Clinton endured, she wasn't there. So don't count being first lady as actual experience. Which brings me to my point, Hillary Clinton doesn't have any experience either.

I don't understand how any woman could be disappointed in the Palin pick. Palin has more experience than Obama. She has actually governed a state as opposed to ALL of the men on the two tickets. Palin has worked with Russia. Palin has owned a business. Obama has spent 3 years Washington running for President....how does this constitute experience?

I think that it is a great VP pick. Now, history will be made no matter who gets in office. You either have the first black President, or the first female Vice President in history. I also think that Palin has more experience in running things than Obama has, if we really want to get into a discussion of who has more experience. She is currently the Govenor of Alaska, which she also made history there too, by being the first female Gov. Also she was a mayor before that. Obama has not lead in anything.

So I guess she is the most qualified republican to join the ticket. Doesn't say much for Pawlenty, Romney, Huckabee, Portman, Ridge, Liberman or any of the other GOP supposed all-star line up.

Question is - is this really the best choice to serve as Vice President of America, or it is the best choice to serve to win an election?

How can anyone believe this person could serve as president? She was a city council person and mayor of what would normally be considered a small suburb for the majority of career. This is a terrifying pick.

Regarding the Palin pick - Having lived in Juneau, Alaska for 37 yrs, I quickly became aware that Sarah Palin, while having some noteworthy accomplishments as Governor, also was very quick to sell out Juneau in the "Move the Capital" (to Anchorage) issue without regard to the detriment of Juneau's economy, including job losses, housing values and small business. . . . She does not even LIVE in Juneau - the Capital city of Alaska! I certainly would not trust her when it comes to special interests.

I'm glad she is my Senator, and thought that Hillary and Bill made the democratic covention finally get off the ground floor. Hillary, is by far 5 times better than Obama, and 10 times the Rep.'s.

I will not bash either Obama or McCain because the slightest insult and now I'm just like Obama and McCain bloggers.

So sad that Palin was picked ONLY because she was a woman. Would she have even been considered otherwise? No, that's why it was such a surprise to the rest of the GOP. If any female voters who were going to vote for Clinton now vote for Palin, well shame on them. That's voting based soley on ovaries - not issues. Those two women couldn't be more diametrically opposed, politically.

I'm sure not many black republicans (all ten of them) are going to vote for Obama just because of his race.

Strategically, to win the presidency, this is an interesting move. But is this all about the race to win the presidency, or is it about who the candidates are and what the issues are?

While Hillary attacked Obama for his "Inexperience" and was cold on his historical candidacy, her statement showed that she only cares about Palin's gender-conscious nomination, and made light of Palin's stances that are all opposite of Hillary's. A McCain-Palin government will be against all she had fought for. That also showed how sexism and racism are rated with Clinton: gender is more important because women constitute half of the electorate. It seems Hillary reverts to her old Republican leaning, not wanting to fight strongly for Democrats.

Out of this group I don't really care who is elected the next President and who is not. I just think our country is in a moral toilet and going down hill fast, economically. As an Independent neither side is doing a whole lot of persuading - you either got an Old man/No experience governor or a No experience Senator/Old man who can't stop his mouth.

I am absolutely appalled, disgusted, and offended at John McCain's blatant attempt to pimp the female voters of Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton herself, if she actually cares about those female voters and not just her own ambitions, should be equally as disgusted. I am quite fond of Bill and Hillary Clinton. However, her response to this VP pick shows that the candidate with the judgement and integrity needed to lead our country in a more positive direction is obviously Barack Obama.

Why did she have to come out and congratulate her of all days, today. It must be that Hillary Clinton sent her brother to speak with the McCain staff and guess who may be behind this. Clinton's brother that's who. I am very disappointed in her because they used her voters emotions today. Yes they are after her group but anyone with brains knows not to vote for this man. How can the republicans bash Obama for months then turn around and say this is fine with them. Anyone notice the difference between last night and this morning. Well let me tell you what I noticed. Last night we had a stadium full to the maximum of americans "the melting pot". This morning all I saw were whites. Why is that? I hope this doesn't spin to a race issue again because it won't be good for the democrates.

Palin for VP???? HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! This is awesome. Maybe McCain should appoint my kid brother for Sec. of Treasury. After all, he did save 15 percent on his car insurance by switching to Geico.

Hockey Mom, not soccer mom. Go John and Sarah. Ha, ha, ha Obamabot. It really was about not getting Hillary in office after all, wasn't it? Rather settle for an empty suit bi racial man than an experienced woman? Yeah, well, two months to go, I guess we'll see.

I am outraged and offended that McCain has chosed to exploit a woman for political gain..once again showing his COMPLETE disregard and disrespect for women's causes. Given her lack of experience, young age and NO FOREIGN POLICY CREDENTIALS, he can no longer accuse OBAMA of such...giving Palinis a heartbeat away from the Presidency if elected. Thus, it is clear, the ONLY reason he choose her is to somehow dupe woman and Hillary supporters into thinking Palin can continue where Hillary left off.

How disgusting!! Palin is the QUENN of EXTREME RIGHT WING IDEOLOGY..on the extreme right on women's issues like equal pay, choice, guns, evolution, oil drilling (a huge friend to oil companies and advocate of drilling in ANWR), school prayer, and embraced Bush's economic policies/disasters.

MCCCAIN, THIS UTTERLY APPALLING TO WOMEN AND DISRESPECTFUL TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE..TO USE A WOMAN WHO WOULD BE OTHERWISE UNQUALIFIED AND IS UNKNOWN FOR YOUR POLITICAL GAIN.

So, in 4 years, McCain..when you are too old or sick or forced out by the radical right so their girl can take over, whose interests will you be serving?

If women or former Hillary supporters are fooled for one second into voting for McCain-Palin, you will get what you deserve and leave our country worse off than ever before. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
