Not that the Repuglicans care anyway. John Mccain's event organizer got on CNN yesterday and said the convention would go on no matter what even after the reporter questioned whether it would be insensitive.

The God's are angry at my party. How can MCCain choose someone for a runningmate who is not qualified to be President of the most powerful nation on earth. Perhaps Gustav will subside November 5, 2008, then they will have their National Convention.

The best thing for the Republicans might be to postpone the convention. The media coverage will be constant hurricane news and images of Republicans celebrating at the convention. That would just remind people how badly the current Republican adminstration messed up during Katrina. They should show that politics are not the priority right now.

Gustav will be a category 5 storm that will come ashore on the gulf coast and bring a storm surge of up to 25 feet will bring damage far inland from the ocean (depending on the tide). It will be a more important news story than the festive GOP convention. It will bring very-expensive-long-term damage and has already killed people.

The Republican Convention must be postponed. It would be bad to celebrate in the face of disaster and suffering of thousands.

((Really appreciate it if you post this, CNN. Thanks!))

Better do something about it quickly. By the way, John, I´ve just watched a video where Sarah Palin herself says in an interview that she doesn´t even know what the V.P.´s role is and she asks for someone to explain her that. And that´s the person you chose as V.P. to be a step closer to the POTUS if needed? God help us all!

McCain should just cancel the convention all together because he's wasting his time. I am highly upset that McCain would offer the Vice-Presidency to someone he's only met one time. He has experience in making crazy, illogical decisions. He does not have this country's best interest at heart...it's so obvious in so many ways.

I read Dobson was asking people to pray for rain the night Barack Obama gave his acceptance speech Thursday night. It turned out to be a most spectacularly beautiful clear evening. Now the Republicans are facing the nightmare scenario that a devastating hurricane may revisit the New Orleans-Gulf Coast area on the third anniversary of Hurricane Katrina during the Republican festivities. Nero fiddled, Republican administration "sat on their hands while a city drowned." God does work in mysterious ways.....oh, yeah, another cliche, the chickens have come home to roost. God save New Orleans.

They need to postpone the convention to get Palin ready.

I have to say, I don't think Palin was a bad pick, it was a hypocritcal one. He said his criteria was the person MOST ready to be commander-in-chief. He attacks Obama continuously on his lack of foreign policy experience. This is the largest HYPOCRISY of the campaign.

As for Palin, maybe she'd make a great president, maybe not. I don't know. This choice tells me more about McCain's lack of judgement that it tells me about Palin herself. I gotta give him credit though. He's got a pair the side of two Jupiters.

This choice will begin a worthwhile debate about what skills a president must have, what the job actually entails and how the choice of a vice-presdent should be made. I think that is a healthy debate that will enlighten America. Without this choice, we wouldn't have had that debate.

Yea the mccain rep is right. You don't want to be partying while New Orleans citizens drown again. They all know too well that the failed flooding rescue seen around the globe happened while Mccain was with Bush at his birthday party.

No shame but we remember. It was all caught on video for the sake of history.

This amazing the republicans prayed for rain in bibcal proportions to rain out the democratic convention....but look what God did instead. Furthermore, you people know you can't hold anything as interesting as the democratic convention...so you'll just cancel and use it as a public service event because you KNOW you won't have half the audience the democratic convention had.

Sorry for those in the way of the Hurricane but here is the news:

Sarah Palin is a wonderful, terrific, outstanding pick; her biography is inspiring; she's a Washington outsider with a commitment to the conservative principles that will make our nation stronger; she is a “pleasant surprise” because of her pro-life record and she is a reminder to women, that if they are not welcome on the Democrat’s ticket, they have a place with Republicans; and she has repeatedly initiated bi-partisanism on her state's workload. She is a lifetime member of the NRA and can shoot a gun.

Senator John McCain has made a great pick in Governor Sarah Palin. She has demonstrated tremendous leadership as the chief executive of her state…and she is really easy on the eyes.

McCain wasn't concerned about celebrating a festive occasion three years ago when Katrina swept through New Orleans and destroyed the lives of tens of thousands of people. He and President Bush were celebrating McCain's birthday, eating cake, and having a jolly good time. Why the sudden concern? Those Republicans who were praying for a downpour during Senator Obama's speech may have caused this for their own party. It's called the law of reciprocity, or in layman's terms...you reap what you sow.

And Dobson and all of his cronies prayed for rain on Obama's convention speech at Invesco. And instead, the RNC gets rain in the southlands. While I hope no one gets hurt in hurricane Gustav, sounds like Karma is showing itself.

First I would like to say I really do love every person because the Bible tells me so! But as the bible says God will bless those who will bless you and afflict those for their bad acts! If by any Chances Hurricane Gustav happen to have any effects on the Republicans Convention then all I can say is may God Bless them all! The Democrats had a good time at their Convention and I hope the Republicans do also, but I am still praying for the people of Hurricane Katrina. I just hope if something bad happens President Bush would just fly around in his air plain looking down at the people as if it is their fault a Hurricane has come. And John McCain needs not to try to use a tragic situation to collect funds for his campaign that would even be too low for any Republican. May God Bless American!

While people believe that God controls destiny, I would like to point out the irony of the fact that another HUGE hurricane bears down on the Gulf coast of the United States which was a defining moment for me to see that the Republican Administration in power at the time of Katrina reacted so poorly. So now even if they react as they should it is too late. GOD is reminding the world on the eve of the Republican convention that they are not the favorite as they believe they are. Religious right take notice. Conservatives take notice. You have failed in your responsibility the world over. While trying to steal the thunder from the Democratic convention and Mr. Obama's speech on Thursday night with a surprise pick of a no experience, no name person from a far reraching place, the choice back fired by being overshadowed by natural forces. God is trying to tell you something Republicans. Take note! It is time for a change.

Remember what the bible says - Those who take the sword perish by the sword. War is not the answer nor is it always by military force but by love which in this case means diplomacy.

What an insult to women Mr. McCain.

Wouldn't that be something. Dr. James Dobson was calling on those on the 'right' to pray for rain to wash out the Democratic Convention. Wouldn't it be ironic if the Republican Convention was 'washed out' instead. In the secular world, the new word is Karma. The bible on the other hand says we reap what we sow. It just goes to show that you must not wish ill for others, even when you have fundamental disagreements. That was such an un-Christian thing to say, but then I have come to expect anything of the so-called extremist 'religious right' Republican machinery. You make other Christians look bad. That being said, I personally wish everyone in the path of the hurricane God's protection, please keep safe. May the Lord protect and deliver you all from harm and danger. I pray also that lives and properties will be spared. God bless you all....To the Republicans and their convention: I wish you well. It's only fair for you to have a chance to do your thing.
