Why can't Senator Biden say Sarah Palin is good looking? That's a true statement! If you are a man who is straight and you don't think she is good looking, there is something wrong with your vision or your brain.

Stop all the silly attacks on a good public servant. If you think a statement like this is offensive, you are either too stupid to understand the beauty scale or you are just a GOP attack machine.

If this is the game that GOP is interested in playing, why don't you denounce all that stupid things that Bush has said or done for this country. We are hurting badly here in Ohio. Why doesn't GOP do something?

NO MORE GOP 08

Biden is s senator that has made a career out of sitting in committee meetings in the senate, towing the party line, and attacking the other party. Obama is the of he same mold--just a new kid on the block .The fact is, Palin has more executive experience than either of them combined! It also appears she has a life experience (hunting, fishing, raising kids, reforming the world around her) that does circles around either of these bureaucrats. They need to get a life!

These guys are joking around about her looks and at least from this article don't appear to attack her on anything with actual merit. They had better be careful they don't further offend the women in their party with cruddy comments like these.
I know there are some out there saying "equal pay for equal work is an issue with substance," but seriously, do you actually believe this woman believes what they're saying she does regarding women's rights in the workplace? If anyone is going to believe women should get paid less it will be some of the three men running for office.

We love you Joe! Don't worry Palin will be jiffy-pop vetted and McCain is already getting grief for his poor judjement on his first real decision. He is a maverick alright, one that has been roped & tied and branded with the letter P, P for Palin by the Rush Rove Neo-con gang! What a sad way to end your carrer Juan McPlain. You should have switched parties when you cried to Reid about the treatment the lat time.

Thank God there is finally someone on any ticket who has some Executive government leadership experience. Governor Palin has more Executive experience than Obama, Biden, HR Clinton and McCain combined.

There is a reason why America rarely elects Senators to the highest office, it comes down to a lack of real experience. I'm sure Barry, Joe and John did great jobs running their Senate office staffs. That doesn't quite measure up to running a State and acting as the Commander of the militia in that State. John McCain recognized he needed the help.

I'm quite comfortable with a woman who can shoot straight and clings to her gun, occupying the Blair House and has not sold her soul to the DC elite. She scares the hell out of the Beltway Bandits.

When Palin gave her speech, I thought it was immature for her to say how she is still with the same man she met in high school vs saying I am proud to have been married to Todd for x number of years.

I also thought she was going to mention Shirley Chisholm in her speech. I wonder why she failed to mention her name.

Guess I have to keep posting this until all you dittoheads get the difference. Even if you think that a Harvard law degree in constitutional law is equal to a B.S in journalism from Idaho as "experience" Obama was ELECTED NOT SELECTED by one angry old desperate man willing to risk the future of 300 million Americans by throwing them under the Straight Talk Express(I am suprised I stil type those 3 words without giggling). That is what most thinking people are concerned about is McCrypt 's obvious mental decay with this "judgment" selection. When people are ELECTED then the people have a say in the SELECTION. It may be foreign concept to Republicans but it is called Democracy, you can Google it for the definition.

So, hold onto the tobbacky can as this may rock your world, but some folks do NOT think Rush is smart and just because he thinks she is a "babe" may qualify her as VP material in that single functioning brain cell that dittoheads seem to have in common, but about 200 million of us will actually make a decision by ourselves.

I know you felt the earth wobble on it's axis by me speaking such heresy but there is a whole world outside of talk radio!

It is truly unfortunate that you Democrats have such nasty comments.
And the comments of Pdixon I will address by saying when you choose abortion it is not your body but that of a child, so you are wrong, it is not your choice. And you know what, if you are pro abortion we don't need your vote. You know where you can take your nasty comments and your pro abortion views.

I rest my case! The republican bloggers were still unable to answer the question of appropriate vetting of this woman to the American people. John claims to have love for this country! That is his campaign slogan, "Country First." He did not think about this country when he made this reckless decision. He is now going to "introduce" her to the American people, 60+days before the election! Wow! This is not acceptable! This is like, entrusting your new next door neighbor who just move into your neighborhood yesterday, to babysit your children while you go out. You can twist this decision how ever way you choose, but you know, it is reckless!

BTW, some of the comments seem to suggest that somehow Palin invited Biden's comments by being a beautyqueen runner up. How interesting??!!

People keep talking about executive experience.......excately what do you call Obama manageing the best political machine ever? He has never ran out of money, there is no drama and it spreads across the United States.

It's a good thing this innocent statement was so overblown because it has made it perfectly clear why McCain picked her.

When did calling a woman good looking become sexist.
you mean a woman cannot be intelligent and good looking.
the later would be the sexist outlook.

Rudy, you know that Biden is just as 'self-controlled' as McCain. Actually he's more self-controlled. He never left his wife for other women. He never selectively chose beauty queens to be by his side. And if he expressed his temper, i.e. on Bush' comments during a visit to the Knesset, it was appropriate. I said the same thing about dubya. McCain would be out of control if given the chance. He and Palin are Pro Life "and" Pro Dumb War ..... don't forget.... based on lies.

Secondly, despite her 'executive experience', her resume' lists a B.S. in journalism with minor in political science. Both Biden and Obama have J.D.'s.

Biden makes a self-depricating comment and 1) it becomes a CNN headline; and 2) fodder for fools waiting to jump on any non-issue to avoid discussing what really matters.

Any objective person will know that Joe Biden is being self-deprecating. I hope America is not that stupid to think otherwise.

Also, I am so tired about hearing that Palin is more experienced than Obama, and Obama is #1 on the ticket.....

First, it is not true. Palin has more executive office experience. But Obama has more overall political experience than Palin.

Secondly, Obama was *elected by millions of American voters* to be #1 on top of the ticket. He wasn't chosen by a singular person. Palin was *chosen by John McCain in his first executive decision* to be his running mate.

Compare apples to apples here people --- compare Palin and Biden, or Obama and McCain. But please, don't undermine my intelligence by comparing Palin to Obama and making misleading statements about experience!

...and p.s. JCH Philly Democrat, Tim Kaine has more overall experience than Palin by a long shot. Jeez, bring some facts here people.

Biden best be careful what he says about her...People will perceive him as anti-female if he's not...They attacked Hillary and didn't get attacked a whole lot, but this woman is much more feminine than Hillary, who is perceived as a rather hard core politician

Oh, please. It's not sexist to say a woman is good looking. Lots of people in the press say Obama is good looking and that's not sexist (AND publish pictures of him in a bathing suit...they could never get away with doing that with a female political candidate!) He didn't call her a degrading name or anything close. it's just the same as when he says Barack is better looking than him. I'm a feminist myself, but really, women do nothing for our cause by getting worked up over trivialities like this.

It's FAR MORE SEXIST for McCain to think that he can oppose women voters by putting an unqualified woman up for VP and think that she holds a CANDLE to a woman like Hillary. Believing women candidates are interchangeable.... that's REAL sexism. The dangerous kind.

Jeez -- how are these publicans going to react when Biden starts commenting about her RECORD??? Calling someone who chose to be a beauty pagent contestant good looking is sexist?
Biden's behavior cannot be controlled and as an American seeking the Vice President of the USA he is a disgrace not only to women but the men who have deep respect for women -- and Obama stands by and smiles. It is obvious that Biden and Obama are concerned of Palin's entrance into this race. It highlights the lack of experience of Obama when the Vice President candidate of the other party has more experience as a chief executive than the Presidential nominee of the Democratic party -- and this lack of executive experience is so obvious. Obama's time in the U.S. Senate has been spent mostly campaigning -- at taxpayers expense. He has no executive experience and no international experience. In fact Palin has more executive experience than all the three candidates put together. So Obama and Biden be careful, you have already raise an issue that will eventually be your undoing, especially when the American voters realize that your rhetoric has no substance. Yes, it is the popcorn theory -- much noise but little substance.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN Republicans & Democrats.
Republicans can pretend to be happy about Palin even though they don't know him. Republicans have succeded in actually brain watching people with fear. Macain with experience has been wrong with judgement especially in areas where he is supposed to be good-Foreign policy. Yet-------
And if Republicans are coming up with executive experience. What they are actually saying is that Palin has more experience than Macain who has only senate experience as Obama. Ignorance is a desease.
Republicans are good in putting fear in people.
Democrats lifts people up with positive encouragement.
And for those who thinks that there is no money to do what Obama is proposing, Republicants have always said no money for health care but we can afford to pay 10b monthly in Iran. Where is common sense. I wil rather take a chance on Obama than same 8 yrs of experience of abuse of power.
Independent for Obama.

This debate is hilarious. It would be one thing if Joe Biden was a greasy, ugly sleaze ball and said what he said -- but he is extremely good looking himself, and surely knows that -- so it's obvious he was just horsing around harmlessly. Palin IS good looking, so is Biden, so is Obama. Even McCain isn't painful to look at. So at least we don't have any victims of the ugly stick running around upsetting our electoral process with their gnarliness. What a relief that is. Biden's record on women's rights is equal to the best of them and puts most to shame. Give me a break. As a heart-broken Hillary supporter, I admit that I was looking for a reason to go to the other side, and abruptly stopped all thoughts of it when Biden was announced as the V.P. candidate. My sticking point was experience, and Biden brings it in spades. Can't vote against Joe Biden. Putting him on the ticket is the smartest thing Obama could have done. Hillary voters are not going to vote for McCain-Palin just because Palin is a woman. To us, unlike with the sexists who hate her, it's not about gender. And we love Joe Biden. Love him.

Wake up America!!!
Please learn the difference between taking a pot-shot at oneself than a sexist remark.
McCain calculated that many women would side with Sarah Palin just because she is a woman. I think admiration is in order, but do you want to vote for a woman who could become our next president with so little NATIONAL experience?
She is residing over a state that has less people than the city of Jacksonville, Florida. 1 1/2 years executive experience means little to me over such a small state and no NATIONAL political experience.
Obama has eight years of Chicago legislative experience and four years of national political experience, not to mention that he sees and understand Washington and picked an experienced running mate who can take over seamlessly just in case.
This VP has no foreign policy experience, no national domestic policy experience and has blown up her thin resume.
Abraham Lincoln had the same amount of experience as Barack before taking office, but his judgment was eerily similar.
As far as plans, in many ways McCain is too vague and he supported the war in Iraq and lacked the necessary vision Obama has.
Obama has been running an excellent campaign and tried to be civil. His campaign, many consider one of the best ever run. That goes to jugdment and decision making.
While McCain has shown bipartisan tendencies in the past, his straight talk, maverick ways that endeared him to so many is absent.
His campaign has represented much of what he really is not, until that pick of Palin, which seemed like desperation and pandering.
I understand it has high risk, high reward, but is too dangerous to put our country in such hands if necessary.

Being an outsider from Canada, although my mother is American, I follow the news closely. I love my country of Canada as much and as furiously as do Americans love theirs. My Grandparents were strong Democrats, and being of Irish descent loved JFK and RFK, but following the Blog’s and the messages that are placed for everyone, all I seem to read is the hate the people show towards either candidate and supporters. The worst seem to be from those that support Obama/ Biden. Maybe it is the fear that there is a chance that a once in a lifetime opportunity for an African American to hold the most powerful office in the world could slip away. All the name calling and put-downs only serve to awaken those Republicans who may not have taken the time to vote last time and to get out this election.
I think everyone would be better off if you forget that someone is black or white, was rich or poor, male or female, young or old, but rather they are “Americans” who care for the country, and believe they can help make it better. Listen to the solutions to questions put forth, not the spiels and jargon which most politicians hand out. It is easy to say "I have a plan" but what you need to hear is what is the plan is in detail. I think Biden as usual was way of line with is comments on Palin, I found then to border on sexist and he should apologize immediately. These are the things that can go to hurt Obama's chance.
Stop the hate mongering and name calling, instead of putting down the opponent try just praising yours. Be the bigger person as they say.

A Canadian prospective but as your hearts do declare, “God bless America” and good luck.

Sincerely
Joe H

First of all, I will be voting for Obama/Biden without a doubt. Secondly, the choice of Palin, a former beauty queen is hardly a surprise given McCain's history. Third, it is my belief that Hurrican Gustav is the answer to Dr. James Dobson's prayers for "unspeakable rain" intended for Obama's speech. Now sadly it comes to New Orleans instead of St. Paul for the RNC opening.

McCain, with his pick of Palin, has turned this campaign into a joke. I can't imagine Palin didn't see all this criticism coming. Thus, she offered herself up as a GOP sacrifice, a woman willing to be used and abused. Republicans can't possibly believe she is capable of running this country. My goodness. Mayor of a town of fewer than 10,000 people? I live in a town of 20,000 or so. Could our Mayor be President? It's absurd. And the notion that her time in public office has somehow lent itself to making her a more experienced candidate than Obama is even more absurd.

Whether the motivation for choosing Palin was simply foolish or calculated AND foolish, it trivializes the importance of the issues our country faces.

Senator Biden, you are a heck of a lot better looking then Palin and a lot more experienced in world affairs, government, and people policy.
You have good looks and brains. Best to you and Senator Obama.

Any woman who enters herself into a beauty contest isn't in a position to complain about someone calling them pretty, unless she wants to be called a hypocrite.

She's a female version of George W Bush, just not a complete idiot. She however is one of these crazy religious nut cases who see Jesus on a potato chip or a moth wing.

She's pretty all right, pretty scary!

Sarah doesn't pretend to be qualified on foriegn affairs at this point in time. From what I've heard about her she is a quick study. McCain is the foreign affairs expert. What she adds to the ticket is the change in Washington, Obama keeps preaching about. He talks of change and then selects one of the longest serving Senators in the Senate. I like Biden, preferred Hillary though. Obama chose Biden to bolster his lack of experience. He chose Biden and ignored half of the democrats, not good judgement if you ask me. Sarah impresses me as a person who will be dedicated and she doesn't need a teleprompter when she speaks. Oh, and she is attractive and smart.

There's really no story here, is there CNN? As newsprint journalist I see the ugly writing on the wall again, CNN, like other media, has to stir the pot again to "make" news. And lest we forget, Palin once did compete in beauty contest. Now, talk about sexist.

Such stupid people in this country. Can democrats not see it is THEIR party who allowed our country to be attacked in the first place beginning with Carter's wimpiness!! Palin has more guts than any previous Democrat politican!!
