I am sure McCain is so disappointed that King George will not be at the convention. Because we all know how important that it was for Bush to be there! I would just love to hear a new speech about his strategery in Iraq or about how "more and more of our imports come from overseas, or my how there are rumors on the INTERNETS about the Republican party or "Pubs". The history books will tell of how Bush was one of the worst Presidents in (as he would say) AMURICUN history.

Bush and Chaney have been asked not to attend the republican convention to avoid the horrible photos of McCain standing with Bush on the podium...Why isnt anyone talking about this? This is the story, not the Palins pregnant daughter!!!

The delegates at the Republican convention may still support George Bush but the majority of the American electorate does not. Bush appearing at the convention with John McCane would, in no way, enhances his chances of an election victory in November. John McCane was, at one time, a good and decent man who I held in high regard but, since entering this campaign, he is just another far-right politican whose embraces the policies of the Republican Party that are no longer relevant in our country. I see McCane as the past and Obama as the future.

I figure the real reason Bush & Cheney bowed out of speaking at the convention was that they were afraid they would get booed right off the podium. I think the majority of Republicans are as fed up and sick of both of them as the rest of the country is. They just saw the hurricane as an "excuse" to not go to the convention.

I think George would do himself a lot of good if he were to say--- My administration wasn't there when the American people needed them most during Katrina. I will do everything in my power to make sure what happened in Katrina, doesn't happen again..... He'd get a few points in my book. Right now everything surrounding Gustav appears politically driven. Finally I think it would have said lots if the RNC didn't let Bush speak--- unless Bush is going to separate himself from McCain--- I don't see how this helps me support McCain. Bush just wasn't the greatest president .

President Bush, perhaps an apology is in order? I voted for you twice, and am very sorry with what I got in return. Gosh America wake up!....the greatest democracy in the world and we might elect another 4 years of the last 8.

I think as American we have a solemn and important duty to put our prejudices and predispositions aside and elect the BEST President....not someone who agrees with OUR positions on cultural and religious beliefs.

I am a Catholic but do i want a "Pope and chief" or a President. It is so obvious that Obama-Biden is our best candidate for President/Vice-President
