Baracks Mother WAS MARRIED....this woman can't handle her own family yet they think she can run this country and handle REALLY important decisions! AND BARACK IS NOT A MUSLIM...somehow we must listen to the real facts in this election & STOP SPREADING FALSE INFORMATION we read online. Lets be honest here..she was chosen because she is a woman & McCain is hoping to get disgruntled Hillary voters. Are they so shallow that they would vote for ANY WOMAN even if she is not qualified...if so we are in more trouble than we can all imagine!! O'Bama listens to all sides and has great ideas for all Americans (yes including Republicans). Lets hope the news people go after the facts with the same energy as investigating Rev. Wright.

She supported Ted Stevens before she was against him. She supported the bridge to no where before she was against it.

In the Governor's office in less than 2 years and she is already under an ethics probe. She claims that being a mother of 5, a PTA member, the only unindicted Republican able to capture the office of Governor qualifies her for the office of VP of the United States of America. She is for teaching CREATIONISM in schools. SHE IS AGAINST ABORTION EVEN IN CIRCUMSTANCES LIKE INCEST, RAPE, AND HEALTH OF THE MOTHER. Now his team decides to "vet" her. Like George Bush, he will have us in another war based on false intelligence because he is not cautious. He is political.

I'll say it – John McCain will put this Country at risk in order to win an election. McCain does not have the judgement or temperament to be the President of the United States.

With five children- three of whom are in crisis ( a four month old down syndrome child, a pregnant teenager and a son about to go to war), how can any parent- father or mother- take on a high pressure job 5,000 miles away from home?

This is not a person that I admire or respect in any way and has greatly diminished my opinion of John McCain.

I hope that the "family values" party looks long and hard at their choice.

AMERICA now is the time to think if ever there was a time to think. With the many problems that face our country from health care, to the war in Iraq that is draining all of our resources to a troubled economy....who would be the most likely team to apply high level thinking to solve these problems? A man who has served in our national senate, was a poor student and admits to knowing very little about economy or technology and a running mate who graduated with a degree in communications (which by the way took 6 years to get and three colleges) or a team of two U.S. Senators, both lawyers and graduates of top colleges and universities. Please! Stop being rediculous and THINK. This is not a PTA election or a Student Senate election it is an election for President of the UNITED STATES. It is all about our safety at home as well as abroad. This is serious business and if people can't use common sense here and see what has to be done, put aside those petty party feelings, then we are in really big trouble. STOP AND THINK! Stop and think about something really going wrong in the world or at home and who is really going to be able to work it out.

I am what they term a republican 'values voter' from PA who strongly identifies with Mrs. Palin. However, when I heard the news of her legal issues, daughter's 'blessing' and her husband's DUI – I can no longer support this choice. McCain must have known and is only using them as divisive issues to draw attention away from real concerns – rather than attempting to deal with the difficult times that our country faces (particularly here in central PA).

I don't believe we can take 4 more years of lies, deception and moral improprieties. In fact, I am ASHAMED that I thought he might be good for the country... I will be voting for Obama come fall.

From what I've read, the ex brother-in-law had a history of questionable conduct, including using a taser on his child. There is also some evidence that there were disagreements between Palin and Monegan about how the department was run for around 18 months. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

I am shocked at CNN, especially Campbell Brown, Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blitzer. If this would have been senator obama, they would have had this going on until election day. This issue about her being under investigation is very disturbing to me, because if she is elected, she would be a heartbeat away from being the president, if something happens to McCain. You talk about Obama not having experience, but Obama has been vetted for 19 months, but this lady scares me, because, noone really knows her. Campbell Brown and Anderson Cooper had a discussion about reverend wright everyday. This makes me question these commentators. I feel if you cannot be equally fair on your reporting, you need not be a part of these major news broadcast. I can say i really miss TIM RUSSERT, this guy was the best at what he did, and you could tell, he was not a part of CNN. Mr. Russert was a fair man. I pray for senator obama, and i hope he becomes our president, and because of the treatment he has received from alot of the news media, it makes me more motivated to get out and register more people to vote,and to also make sure they are at the polling place early november 4th.

@Clinton's supporter, I think voting for a vice president instead of a president is a bad decision, but to each their own. Personally, the level of experience means little to me because JFK, one of our greatest presidents, followed a very similar path as Barack. I think what should be looked at are the answers to the issues, and McCain's trickle down, l'aissez faire economic policy will not work. It failed in the past, and it will fail again.

Privacy – forget about it. Your daughter's baby daddy WILL BE NAMED; and his background will be revealed. If the National Inquirer doesn't get you, the Drudge Report will; and CNN and other mainstream media will run it. (Think John Edwards.) P.S. – If this guy is 26 now and has been dating your daughter for three years, what are you doing allowing your 14 year old girl to go out with a grown man?

Marriage at 17: If you are forcing your daughter to the altar to protect your family values image for the campaign, you have just made Lynn Spears the mother of the year.

Point to John McCain: If you have foisted this soap opera on the American public, knowing this nonsense was going on (including Troopergate), this shows how bad YOUR judgment is.

gary, you are amazing. The difference between Obama and Palin in terms of experience may be negible, but Obama has been vetted for going on 20 months now (some say too much coverage). Sen. McCain picked someone that many non-conservatives don't know much about. And he did it with only 60 days before the election. The media is going to jump through hoops to check into her background because that is what the country wants them to do.

Of course if you think about it she aslo has more executive experience than John McCain as well. We might as well make her President.

I am an Obama supporter but even I can see that Palin needs to step down. She is a huge distraction and so very under qualified. I believe after researching her alleged abuse of power that she will be found guilty. The evidence against her is very powerful.
I have to question McCain's judgment in selecting this new comer. She is not ready for prime time and her children need her with them.

This goes to the core of Judgement. I believe it also brings to the fore issues around reproductive rights. What are the conservatives saying. When it happens to them the rules are different. They are always talking about god and how the bible should be followed, how the entire country should be governed by their religious belief and standards, yet its ok to bend the rules. Which is it does she believe in choice or not, is this what she wants for americas daughters? If her daughter had chosen she wanted to abort what would she have done? Are they saying its ok to 17 and pregnant. Are they saying children getting married is ok. Is sex before marriage wrong, or is it wrong only for other american. This woman has to answer to her stance on these issues.

McCain needs to answer questions about his judgement, how could he subject this nation to this kind of soap opera. Now we are being distracted from real issues because we have to investigate the Palins. He had five months to chose a running mate and this was the best he could come up with. Forget about the pregnancy, he chose someone who is under investigation, and he does not know the outcome. I know they say she is not guilty but how do they know the investigation is not complete. This man is incompetant, and should not be trusted in the white house.

If any of this story is true, there so no way the republicans should nominate her as VP. John McCain makes the selection but does she not need to be confirmed by the delegates at RNC??

I am a democrat, regardless this wouldn't sway me, but what scares me isshe could be a heartbeat away from the presidency (and look at who's heart we are taking about) . Even though I fell having Palin on the ticket helps Obama, i would prefer someone else, just in case

I just love how the demo's are trying everything to dig up any dirt on her they can when the one they just appointed as their candidate said her personal life is off limits. mrs morality/congeniality cannot even handle her family affairs. abuse of power for trying to get her ex-brother-in-law fired. allegations of abuse and over the top behavior are for the courts to decide.
husband arrested for dui.
17 year old unwed 5 month pregant daughter. she "intends" to marry the father? that being the case, she should have done so as soon as she found out.
intentionally hiding her daughter's pregnancy by having her hold her own 4 month old baby wrapped in a huge blanket?
embraced the bridge to nowhere until it became unpopular?
believes in aerial hunting of caribou and grizzly bears for sport?
doesn't believe polar bears will bear the brunt of her support for oil drilling in wildlife sancaturies in alaska?
mrs. congeniality is in for even bigger surprises when the press really starts to dig into her past.
she should have done the right thing by declining mccain's choice due to personal reasons. some people love power more than their families, and this lady is no exception.

The Bush white house and the Republicans as a whole have never been held responsible for anything they have ever done wrong in their lives. If she did anything wrong in this case she should be held liable for it. The American people should also demand that she be held liable for it too.
