What kind of example is this to set for our teens. We have been trying to control teen pregnancy. Now we are telling our teens it's okay as long as you get married the father and struggle the rest of your ife. Or for some teens they may say My Mom is wealthy to take of my future problem she's Vice President.

Are teenagers not suppose to be in school? Of couse some will say what's wrong with this pregnancy. But shouldn't a person aspiring to live in white house give some good examples?

Hum... the truth comes out huh. It does explain the new baby. It doesn't explain why it took 4 days to come out. Given time, we would of found out. I can't figure out how a woman with a downs baby and pregnant 17 year old can find the time to be a mom in all the attention that is required to be VP of our country. Priorities are important to me as a mom, grand mom.

How can she lead the nation, when she can't control and watch over her family. I believe that you should wait until marriage before having sex. That is no longer the norm so you should at least wait until marriage before having a baby. Babies having babies.

This confirms that the Palins are an average American family dealing with average American issues. God Bless them for standing by their daughter. God Bless their daughter for deciding to give birth to this child. I would say this is a great American family. My prayers are with them.

I must be totally ignorant because I fail to see how this qualifies as a valid news story. Granted, I realize there is a sleaze factor the media may be trying to exploit, but this is a private matter and has absolutely nothing to do with this candidates qualifications to run as a VP. In fact this type of story, will only divert attention from her inexperience and emphasize her position on one issue (abortion rights) which has absolutely nothing to do with how this person will run this country. I simply don't understand how CNN could run this story as "breaking news" It is totally irresponsible and only perpetuates the problem with american politics today.

It's too bad such inflammatory accusations (regarding Gov Palin's infant son actually belonging to the daughter) have to spill over and affect innocent young adults. It's laudable she is allowing this baby to live. It's clearer now than ever the Palins are an average American family with the same challenges all have. Certainly this speaks to initial point Sarah Palin is one of us.

Now that's family values! Get pregnant , then get married....and then divorced after high school....then do it all again.....................nothing like the 9 months of darkness in AK.

Bristol's pregnancy is evidence of how out of control Sarah Palin's family's life has become, because she is so focused on her own needs and career ambitions, that she has neglected her children, forcing Bristol to look elsewhere for the love and attention that she so desperately needs. The fact that John McCain knew of the pregnancy and still offered the Vice Presidency to Mrs. Palin is outrageous. Both McCain and Mrs. Palin have ignored this child's cry for help in the name of politial ambition. The inevitable media storm will do nothing to improve the emotional and mental health of this damaged family.

Perhaps Sarah should rethink her commitment to her family and pay more attention and spend more time with her own children. Obviously her daughter had too much free time and not enough adult supervision. This is the type of family values that the Republicans are proud of? Teens will be teens, but with a watchful eye parents can help them avoid pitfalls such as teen pregnancy, drugs and alcohol.
I will pray for this child and hope her mother realizes that this is a cry for her attention.

This is what happens when you refuse to teach teenagers about contraception. A condom costs 75 cents, a baby costs many hundreds of thousands of dollars before he or she turns 18. Gov. Palin doesn't believe in contraception. It's really a shame her own daughter has to be a victim of her mother's stone-age ideology.

Even if she does marry the father, she has still committed adultery and is under 18 because she got pregnant BEFORE marriage and will probably have the child before marriage unless they pull off a quick 4-month wedding! Way to go "conservative" Republicans!

I don't really care that her daughter's pregnant. This happens. What bothers me is that it will turn into a talking point for the media and the political parties. This is a non-issue.

But Palin's stance on abortion worries me, as does her stance on drilling in Alaska, and off-shore drilling, and her immense lack of experience, and so on and so on.

I would have taken McCain a lot more seriously eight years ago.

And Palin believe and wanted to teach abstinence only in school! She obviously failed as a mother, how can we trust her as a leader?
