As an American (not a Republican or a Democrat), I believe real change is cleaning up Washington! Sarah Pelin is the first caudate to make me believe that is possible. Selling the state jet on Ebay? Say no more! She's got my vote!

All these obamabotic haters just can't accept that McCain is dead even with Mr. Done Nothing in the polls. What they don't understand is that most Americans, and especially the ones who actually vote, can't identify with the celebrity filled, idol worshiping, glitzy, hollywood production that was supposed to be the Dems Convention.

The lemmings that follow their idols every breath, don't realize that all his promises he made in his glitzy speech are absolutely unattainable in the near future. Anybody with any brains realizes that no matter what he says, the money and the math just don't add up.

Of yeah, and then there's the lies in his speech. He said that McCain is against equal pay for equal work which couldn't be further from the truth. McCain simply voted against an extension of the period that people have to sue over this matter. They already have 6 months. I guess lawyers, of which Bama is one, would be for this because it would give them more oppotunitys to pad their pockets.

Obama should know what lawyers can do as that's how he got into the Illinois legislature. By sending a team of lawyers to disqualify the signatures on the election petitions of all the other people running against him until no one was left. Now that's what I call a stand up guy. I'd follow him over the cliff anytime.

Key evangelical leaders rallied to Sarah Palin's support Monday amid news that her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, was having a child.

Evangelical is being use in this election, to mean "WHITE PEOPLE"!

I heard a McCain spokeswoman refer to Sarah Palin as .....

"the most qualified and capable candidate McCain could have selected"

HUH? In the words of John McEnroe .... "YOU CAN NOT BE SERIOUS!"

Condi Rice, Mitt Romney, Elizabeth Dole, Tom Ridge, Christine Whitman, Mike Huckabee, Tim Pawlenty, Rob Portman all would have been SMARTER choices.

Then I heard this same person ATTEMPT to connect Obama to Palin's problem with her unwed daughter. The responsibility for that lays (pun intended) with Bristol and probably her absentee mother.

With a newborn and a grandchild, plus a less than 10 year old child, Ms. Palin's plate is full. Governor may be a 9-to-5 job but is the Vice Presidency?

There is no reason to believe McCain will not become president. In the end get real.. this country is not ready for a black president (or African American if you need some other political correctness)

No matter how enamored the liberal, irrelevant press wants to spin it the right will prevail because it is right. Seems sad so many bloggers need to get it off their chest now rather than after the election when they can start the grumbling all over again post election.

McCain... in your heart you know he's RIGHT!

Who cares about any of your lame conventions. One party blames the other for the direction the country is headed but you are both to blame!

In case you haven't noticed, you share the courts, the Dems are in control of congress and the GOP has the Executive Branch (even when the GOP controlled congress, the Dems still had an effective minority). What has happened in the last 20 years??? Sex scandles galor, wars, downturned economies, lies (both sides, not just Bush!), inflated cost of living, rising unemployment, etc.

Acording to the polls, you all do not support congress or Bush. VOTE THEM ALL OUT THEN! It is finally time for all of you robots who go to the poll to vote ONLY along party lines to wake up! There are more then 2 choices!

Is the media going to vet Sarah Palin at all?? I just can't wait to hear more about how well that abstinence education works. I can't wait to hear why we should drill for more oil, especially in ANWR, so we can add an additional 3% to our supply and reduce the price at the pump by pennies. I can't wait to hear about how climate change remains debatable, and since it does not appear to be man-made, how we should not do anything about it. I can't wait to hear about how evolution is just a theory - oh, kind of like , say, gravity. Forgive me for reading the science. I can't wait to hear about how being next to Russia confers foreign policy experience; maybe if she stands next to McCain long enough, she'll have POW experience also. My favorite is her prior membership in the Alaska Independence Party - maybe she can be VP of Alaska when it succeeds in seceding. That'll give her time to figure out what it is, exactly, that a Vice President does all day long. Country First?? Not my country. If we're going Libertarian, give me Ron Paul - I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. At least he has more going on in his brain than two neurons connected by a spirochete. HILLARY 2012

I'm glad the storm was not as devistating as it could have been, and that the Convention will now go on. How ironic... the weather disrupted their convention, when they were praying for the weather to disrupt Obama's...

How ironic, McCain's judgemennt picking Palin, when the Republican's chastised Obama judgement for picking Biden.

The Rove vs Biden issue continues on this same vein. Does McCain truly appreciate Rove's help? Does he not think that now that he is using Rove's tactics to sway voters, Rove is now feeling empowered? Is ths not looking more and more like a continuation of the Bush years? There is no more Maverick. McCain has become one of them.

I think all the Democrats have to do is sit back and wait. McCain's latest judgment (VP pick) is the best thing that has happened to the Democratic Party!

As a women who think Hiliary would have been a great VP of President, its an insult to woman that McCain and his people would think that "any" women would do...as long as its a woman on the ticket. Sure, there will be SOME who simply vote for the ticket because a woman is on it. But the majority of women are smarter than that.

No one...Republican or Democrat can believe this women can run a country if anything happens to McCain. This has gotten out of hand. Its not about the "people"...its about the country!!!

As a women who think Hiliary would have been a great VP of President, its an insult to woman that McCain and his people would think that "any" women would do...as long as its a woman on the ticket. Sure, there will be SOME who simply vote for the ticket because a woman is on it. But the majority of women are smarter than that.

Norma Beattle,

Why do you think the McCain camp- broke the news about Palin during a hurricane? To divert attention away from them. Talk about political pandering, they use a hurricane to muffle the press then people like you are critical for the media reporting it? Thats exactly what McCain wanted. Wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're wrong, Outraged. If I had a dime for every Obama cultist who claimed Hillary was not qualified on these very blogs, I'd be a millionaire.

Hillary Clinton never looked better as a Democratic nominee for VP, right Barack?

The DNC opened the door by failing to pick her; now everyone is bleating and squealing because McCain walked through it. I cannot imagine that anyone is surprised - it's a no-brainer.

But you all hate Hillary; you don't want her anywhere near you, she's so awful - remember?? Absolutely not the right choice for VP! I can only imagine what she's thinking right now. Probably looking at her debt and remembering that Obama and his friends have done nothing for her - nada. But I bet they want her out there now....hmm...

And when McCain is left to pick, look what he does. He picks a fool. He must be giggling. Now all you nasty Obama cultists are scared stiff!

No one deserves to lose to McCain/Palin more than you guys.

And there are a LOT of right-wingers in this country who now cannot wait to cast a vote for Palin. They are thrilled, they are energized, and they are on the move!

Although I am supporting Obama, I will defintely watch the convention. I'm glad they are resuming it. You always have to keep an open mind and remember that every American wants the same for this country. To get out economy back on track, to be respected among world leaders once again, etc....It's the way we get the results that are different.

Keep an open mind! :-)

Wow, they've got a Fred Thompson speech as a highlight. Ever seen that guy talk? It's like watching dust gather.

What I want to know is, how is the GOP going to handle having a VP candidate who wanted her state to secede from the Union. That's a major problem... I mean, wasn't a war fought over that kind of thing once?

I know another name borne by the Pharisees of the new testament-its called CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN FUNDAMENTALIST!

while i'm not suprsed that a 17 yr old teen is pregnant in a country that glorifies SEX like the USA (how do i know? I watch E! on cable, temptation island which is quite old, and MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEEN on MTV base). I am very appalled and disturbed that the pharisees of my time ignore FORNICATION as the SIN that produced Bristol Palin's pregnancy but rather celebrate her keeping of the baby - truly she should because she had CONSENTUAL FORNICATION not rape - as high christian value. This only proves that the DEVIL'S OWN will always be protected.

Had this happened to BIDEN OR OBAMA their political epitaph would have been composed already . Now we have a celebration!

USA HAS ALWAYS BEEN A SHAME TO THE MORALLY UPRIGHT WORLD AND THE "SO CALLED" GUARDIANS OF WHAT IS LEFT OF A GOD LOVING USA HAVE SHOWN US IT'LD RATHER ABIDE/ADHERE TO SIN THAN SEE A DECENT CHRISTIAN BLACK FAITHFUL MAN BE POTUS

Your christianity insults my CATHOLICISM AND FREE WILL THOUGHT! Am ASHAMED for U double judgement PHARISEES

I think all party politics should cease, and everyone should head down to the Gulf Coast. They haven't recovered from Katrina - 3 years later, and there are still many people living in trailers (we're not talking double wide mobile homes), cars, tents, and 4X4 tool sheds. They may be physically safe, but they're going to come back to a mess - again. Flooding, more mold, more loss of personal belongings.

I just got back from there a week ago. It's so disheartening to see the slow progress.

I seldom watch CNN or any of the many Liberal outlets, but
I love to see just how far you can twist everything about this
Rep convention. WOW, you are all unbelievable.
BIG QUESTION-
WHY IS IT OBAMA IS PREPARED TO TAKE OVER AS
PRESIDENT, WITH LITTLE EXPERIENCE IN ANY
POLITICS & SARAH PALEN ISN'T EQUIPPED FOR
VP WITH MANY ON THE JOB HOURS AND A RECORD OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS?
By the way, our economy is in shambles, BUT, who has been
in charge of the Congress???????????

Ever wonder why a man is never questioned about his ability to be a father and be President or in this case Vice President? Sarah Palin has lighted a fire in the GOP who were less then excited about this election. Obama chose to ignore half, count them half, of the democratic party. If you heard Michelle state she would have to think about voting for Hillary if she were the nominee, you would know why Hillary was not even vetted for VP. If I must chose between an inexperienced President or an inexperienced Vice President, I chose the latter. I think Obama has turned off this, Reagan Democrat

I am interested in knowing where he got the smarts, not the heart, to be President.

Why isn't Palin's earmarking 27 million for her tiny town of 6700 when she was mayor, the top CNN story. MORE ABUSE OF POWER.

Now I'm getting religious with the thought of McCain/Pain winning. God help us all!!!!!

All along the campaign trail, the Republican camp found every conceivable method of stealing Sen. Obama's thunder, well here we have Mother Nature reciprocating (big time) WITHOUT Sen. Obama's input. There is a GOD!

I wish the people of the South a speedy recovery!

Turned on TV this AM at the Conv (however no one there now) and they are talking about Palin's daughter being pregnant....
What the heck is wrong w/Media and Pundits? It's none of their business and a 17 yr old is so tender hearted I'd like to go nose to nose with the ratings money lovers. They would throw their mother under the boss for $5.
I was for Hillary, but am getting darn tired of the LIberal love of destruction.

Great! We finally have a short break from the biased media cramming the word "Obama" into every sentence aired on TV--or do we? Do the right thing. We don't really need to live in a communist state yet. robo

I remember when John McCain cruelly trashed Chelsea Clinton when she was a child in the White House. He told reporters that she was "ugly" "because Janet Reno is her father." Of course, McCain would like us now to accord Palin's daughter the respect he wouldn't give Chelsea.

Top Ten Things Barrack Obama can ask Sarah Palin when he meets her the first
time.

10- How do you load a gun?

9 - Is hunting scary?

8 - How do you get the bait on that hook thingy?

7 - What's it like having a spouse that isn't angry all the time.

6 - You were Mayor, then Governor, what's a budget?

5 - I've never delegated. Do you have a canned speech for that?

4 - What does "meeting a payroll" mean?

3 - Why do you have so many kids; haven't you ever heard of an abortion?

2 - What's it like actually being an executive?

1 - Yeah, but do the Germans like you?

The GOP has been, and always will be the party of, by and for the rich. It doesn't give a tinkers darn about some homeless vagabond drowning in hurricane waters. It doesn't care one whit for the bible thumping dirt farmer in Mississippi. It could care less about the Hispanic businessman in Orange County. Unless you are rich, you are voiceless. The GOP has mastered the tactic of using social conservatism and religion held in one hand to blind what they are doing with the other. And most of the people registered Republican don't know or don't care as long as they talk the conservative Christian talk.

At least we are all familiar with who Rove and Biden are !!!! It is selfish and reckless for McCain to give the country 60 days to decide on a Vice President. pick that No one knows anything about . It's been 18 months of Obama on television and on 25 debates and most people still claim to not know Obama. It is not fair to pick an unknown to be Vice president with absolutly no foriegn policy what so ever . So if you want to vote for McCain you also have to be willing to vote for someone with NO Foriegn policy experience at ALL . If the phone rings at 3 am She won't even know who's calling . She doesn't know any foriegn leaders or the history of our conflicts with them Even if you didn't like Hillary Clinton, No one could say she was not Qualified .

"Who is John McCain?" I can hardly WAIT for THAT piece to be aired. Will there be harps? Will tissues to issued to all participants? John McCain is an angry, spoiled rich man who has not one whit of an idea of what it is like to be a struggling American these days. He has NO idea what a paltry 2.3% social security raise doomed many Americans to last year. He has NO idea what Bush politics have done to weaken the financial stability (ie: one hair's breadth from disaster) of decent hard-working Americans. He has NO idea what the 30 billion dollar a MONTH war is doing to strip, deplete, ruin and break the US budget (insert laugh at word "budget") He has NO idea what the millions of Katrina were forced to endure - humiliation being just one small part- he has NO idea what fear lives in the hearts and souls of so many Americans without health insurance. He has NO idea how pissed off every American is over the BILLION of PROFITS garnered by the oil companies EACH quarter- while so many of us are wondering whether to pay the electric bill this month, or the car insurance. I am personally, sick to death, of Republican pandering to big interest groups whose only goal is to crank up the greed factor. Oh, yeah, "who is John McCain?" He is the man that wants to keep business as usual in this country. He is the man to be very afraid of.

I think it's completely laughable that the GOP was faced with a galaxy of "experienced" veep candidates, but because they were un-vettable due to their potential corruption, McCain had to go out to the sticks to pick up Palin...who ended up being a social conservative's nightmare. So what do you do at a convention where the leader of the party - Prez Bush - has the lowest approval ratings even in his own party? Politicize a natural disaster in hopes of being cast in a humanitarian light...even though this was the party that essentially killed hundreds with bungling incompetence last go around with Katrina.
