ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) – President Bush is giving a wonderful speech for 2004, when the central issue was terrorism. But so far he hasn’t addressed the central issue of this election: the economy. You’re probably not going to hear much about that. One of the ironies about the war is, Americans think the war is going better - but it’s receding as an issue.

An interesting reference from Bush: the angry left. You used to hear a lot about angry white men back in the 90s, and about how they were at the center of politics. Now you’ll hear Republicans try to paint their opponents as angry.

Bush should have Giuliani translate for him: 9/11.

Thats all they think and talk about.... those terrorists and how we need Bush and McCain to keep us safe.

d**m right we are angry. If you aren't you have been asleep these past 8 years.

We don't hear about hungry Americans with no jobs and no way to care for families in this country either.

You'd be angry too if you saw your health insurance double, paid gas prices over $4 a gallon, worried about paying your mortgage. What do we have that our government has done for us in the past 8 years to be happy about?

It's the economy stupid. Are they really that out of touch?

"Now you’ll hear Republicans try to paint their opponents as angry."

All you have to do is read the posts on this site to know that this statement is true.

He have a short speech.

That was about all I could take..so hats off to Bush for not wasting the airtime.

Republicans are probably breathing a sigh of relief too.

Bush and McCain don't get the economic issues, because they don't have them. How can John McCain be the president, and doesn't realize that alot of people are suffering.

uh oh, he's whining!
