Pawlenty and Romney had better toe the party line and defend McCain's poor judgment in picking Gov. Palin!

There's a decent chance Palin soon may be forced to resign due to the mounting crisis over her lack of qualifications. In that case, McCain might likely pick Pawlenty or Romney to save his campaign.

Would they think it was a "private matter" if it was Biden, Clinton or Obama's daughter? The Republican party would attack so quickly and relentless on the "family value" issue that it would make your head spend.

There is a reason why this is becoming less of an issue and not the firestorm it would be if the tables were turned.

We are talking about a potential leader to the free world.
Palin has baggage period. We know next to nothing about her and the MCcain camp is spinning instead of campaigning.
Did MCcain feel that someone under investigation for abuse of power ( troopergate ) was a good choice ? Does MCcain indorse having children at sixteen ? What makes Palin qualified to be the leader of the free world. It's seems like another oil ticket , the GOP wants oil in Alaska. Pick an unqualified Governor to get it ? Come on . Even the ignorant republicans are not that stupid.

Obama is steering away from the pregnant daughter because making it an issue trivializes it.

I'm not surprised that 3 top Republicans support McCain's ill advised and poorly planned choice for VP. Are they going to act like sore losers and say, "Yes, she's horribly underqualified and he should have chose me". Its called party politics, and its is a reminder that because of the last 8 years of miserable leadership that the Republican's are desperate to create a legacy out of a latrine. He could have selected any number of better qualified and experienced women or men as VP. I could care less whether it is a man or woman, old or young. If they are the best person for the job, then so be it. McCain's statement to everyone is that a 2 year governor is the best person for the job, and the proper replacement for him should anything befall him. I think not. Let her deal with her family buisness in her own way with her loved ones. Her national and political naiveté with a major political office is sufficient enough to dismiss this candidate outright. Even if Palin wasn't the hot issue, Obama clearly has the vision, drive, and experience (even if not as extensive as the other candidates) to lead this country and provide a brighter and better day for all Americans. Governer Palin has much more experience then Obama, she's is on the ticket as VP and he is running for the Presidency. She was in elected office for years prior to becoming Mayor in Alaska and then elected as Govenor of Alaska. She is well versed with the Oil Industry. Obama's comparison that his campaign equates to this experience is downright rediculous! This is truly grasping at straws. I have been a Democrat for many years and I am 44 years old now. If Obama thinks that Democrats are actually DummyCrats he is wrong! He is he trying to fool, his comparison was absolutely Juvenile. This Democrat will be casting her vote for the McCain/Palin ticket. All Obama has on his side is foreign policy experience and only at a senate level at that.

Folks, there are major newspapers all over the country – including Anchorage, Alaska – running very informative pieces about Palin. You need to vet her for yourselves. Check places like Anchorage, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York….

You'll be amazed at what you aren't hearing on TV or radio. Her own home state newspaper has excellent info – including a front page article today about how she wasn't vetted by the McCain camp.

She voted for the pork belly project for the bridge to nowhere and now she reverses her opinion since she is running for VP. She also has the investigation going on for ethics which is the reason why we SHOULD NOT TRUST HER as our VP. Not to mention her 17 year old daughter is pregnant out of wedlock. What kind of example is this for young americans? I guess young woman will think if our vice president's daughter got preganant out of wedlock at 17, then why can't I? This is not the example a VP should be showing. I am a republican who is very much against her nomination. She is not the best qualified republican woman for this job.

I watched an interview with her yesterday and all answers were about Alaska and Oil. Questions about national issues always revereted back to Alaska and oil. Where is her experience in national issues, foreign policy (being near Canada or Russian does not count).

I'll start by saying that I'm a supporter of the Obama/Biden ticket and am looking forward to the upcoming debates. I hope that qualifications means more than gender, parenting skills, and a pretty face. If I were an active Republican woman I would be furious You can't tell me that there aren't intelligent, qualified women in the Republican party; if the party wishes to go with a woman VP that's fine but at least choose someone who a thinking person could say hmmmm, possibly. Ms. Palin is a just a little left of Attila the Hun to compare her to Hillary Clinton is obscene. To think that ANY Hillary supporter would consider throwing there vote to the Republicans because of this VP is an insult to a remarkable intelligent woman. I agree that the children of politicians, and other PUBLIC people should be off limits. But the truth be told, Gov. Palin is the one who decided to thrust her daughter into the public microscope.

As a mother of two, I can not imagine placing my daughter into this fray. I cannot think of a job I would want bad enough to put her through what Bristol Palin is facing.
