Experience my foot!
What u selfish republicans have done in the past 10-20 years is what Obama has steadily achieved in the last 4yrs.
Remember, it takes the wisest to learn faster.
No matter how u look at it, Obama/Biden can make a good America
No more war!

When one of our most intelligent and ardent Republican voices says that Sarah P. should be baby sat 24/7 by Henry K. (to be brought up to a modicum of speed on any critical issue facing our nation), then I must sit up and take notice.
Surely, we're not so lock step in our desire to 'win' that we will over look what may be a plain and fundimentally bad choice By Mr. McC.
Could this be true?
Are we even able to hazard the thought? I never suspected that I'd even have to consider this . Still.... it gives one pause.

Insane McCain's dosage of Aricept should be increased. He is obviously delusional. Ms. Palin told us absolutely NOTHING! For McCain to think that bringing in a fashionable " Hockey Mom " with a pregnant 17yr. old ( she can't even effectively govern a teenager) ) and ta special needs child is going to pull the heartstrings of intelligent hardworking women across the country so hard that it swings the ' Hillary vote' , is not only offensive and condescending, it is downright ludacrous! I work within the special needs community every day and with women of substance and integrity, none of whom would dump their challenged baby off to go out and hunt Moose and Democrats. As for comparisons between Hillary and Sarah Palin; gender aside, there is none. " I knew Hillary Clinton; Hillary Clinton was a friend of mine. Govenor, you're no Hillary Clinton. "

This tells it all, even the republicans recognized that McCain goofed in his choice of VP. All they can do is to hope that he wins because they are republicans instead of putting the good of America above partisan politics. They best they can do is hope because Americans are saying enough of leaving our destiny in the hands of mediocres who lack the right judgment to lead this great nation. Ben should follow his heart and throw his weight behind the Obama/Bidden team. He does not have confidence in the McCain/Palin team, but lacks the courage to support a better team. Wake up Ben!

People should learn to spell simple words like "liar" before accusing others of being stupid. A basic command of punctuation would be nice, too. How about keeping the discourse both civil and intelligent?

Compliments to Stein for speaking his mind. Shame on you who pretend that this is something unique based on party affiliation. Generalization is a sign of weak-minded, politically-motivated blindness. Let's keep to the issues and stop making this personal.

On Friday, Barack Obama will name Mike Tyson as his choice for Attorney General, citing Mike's extensive criminal justice experience. Republican critics claimed the appointment was just a political ploy designed to divert attention away from Sara Palin's historic speech.
Silly isn't it? Now don't you think Ben Stein would be smart enough to put country ahead of party.

Ben Stein,

the theme we heard repeatedly was vote for the issues not the party.

You can't have it both ways.

You are a closet Obama/Biden voter.

CNN, follow him to the booth!

Ben Stein is right. As a group of voters, we tend to reward liars and smooth talkers. The same is true of our corporate elite. Only a few liars and smooth talkers are intelligent. Most of us voters are fools to continually fall for this. Both parties spout out red herring issues or construct straw men to attack. Politicians in both parties claim to be 'regular every day god-fearing people' - what a joke! This is our fault as voters. That means YOU!

Ben - you are not alone. Soon everyone else will be floored too. What has this country come to when we're looking for a hockey-mom leader who's sacrificing her kids to her political ambition. Her current scandals will also drag down McCain. Her broken promises will follow her forever.

Ben is a sellout. He gets paid big bucks by pharmaceutical companies and their ilk to give speeches which are a series of standup comedy acts, telling jokes and working the product into his routines. He is funny but part of the big machine - you know where his money goes...to the McBushies!

Ben Stein clearly would have been a better pick than Palin. In terms of intelligence and acumen on the economy at least. He might actually have had more crossover appeal as well.
Mr. Stein, can you really honestly say you will still support this ticket? The actuarial odds on her becoming president if he is elected are at least 1 in 3.
The experience mantra is getting old and tiresome. Obama has proved his force of intellect and ability to engage effectively on the world stage. The world is practically begging us to elect him to get back on a functional international course. President Clinton was successful in his terms and the same half-baked arguments about his "experience" were made ad nauseum in 1992.
The republicans needed to reach out to independents and democrats to win. That's the bottom line. They have failed to do so with this polarizing pick. The polls reflect it, McCain can't win on the hard core evangelical right wing alone, even if they turn out 100%.

Ben,

Sarah would be only a heartbeat away from the presidency. Do you honestly think she has the experience to run the country? And, please don't tell me McCain could teach her. He could keel over at any time just from his age!

Stein tells the truth in the open like usual. And Peggy Noonan tells the truth by accident into an open convention mic that she thought was off.
Either way. The truth is that Palin was a clear choice of political pandering and poor judgement by McBush.

Ben, what we want is smart honest politicians. How do you think we got where we are now, gravity? Sometimes you don't have to be a brain surgeon to get something done, you just have to have your heart in the right place. If John McCain needs some lady from Alaska to do his talking for him then we need all the Obama-Bidens we can find. At least they can speak for themselves.

For people who said that Palin had more vote in her election as governer than Biden did as president, I want them to know that Biden was not on the barlot caucus past Iowa. You cannot take vote from one state and generalize the situation. I guess the same situation apply for that person when it come to his failed presidency bid as well. Biden is a long time experience senator with far more vote in all his reelection than that person who stated that comment and Palin combine. Biden is ready for the job when Palin is going to be an intern for the job.

Well, let's see, Obama, Biden and Stein are all lawyers. Obama and Biden though are both successful U.S. Senators and Stein = A Speech Writer? Now who here is not smart enough? Palin has a B.S. in journalism and 20 months as governor of Alaska and you are comfortable with her level of experience? It sounds like you are jealous Ben Stein. Go back to acting and writing your little speeches and leave the next president and vice president alone.

Go back to acting and writing your little speeches and leave the next president and vice president alone.

Ben Stein is one of the only Republicans left who refuses to talk from the play book. (See the recent live mic incident for proof of the disconnect between true opinion and spin.) I may disagree with him about what our country needs, but that integrity makes his good opinion worth earning.

And mech, try a spelling and grammar check before you fire off a post in which you call someone stupid.

Obama has a lifetime of experience overcoming challenges these guys will never understand, and worse they foolishly underestimate. Debate the details of it all you want, but it's summed up for all to see in his acceptance speech. I don't know, but the guy had enough experience to draw in 80,000 people clamoring for a better tomorrow. One more experience these guys will never know and never understand.

I want fiscal responsibility. I want business growth at home. I want investment in our country, not foreign deserts. I should be a Republican, they sacrificed these values on the cross a long time ago, proving to be worse than the scary bedtime stories they tell about Democrats.
