Chants of "zero" are filling the Xcel Center as Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle asks how much executive experience Barack Obama has.

Markeis from Omaha, NE   September 3rd, 2008 10:20 pm ET

Who is Linda Lingle? My point exactly.

ex-Hillary for Obama   September 3rd, 2008 10:20 pm ET

Are you sure they weren't talking about Palin?

We need Obama Biden!   September 3rd, 2008 10:20 pm ET

If executive experience is the critirium, then don't John McCain and Barack Obama have the same amount of experience since neither of them have any executive experience in government?

Lee   September 3rd, 2008 10:20 pm ET

How much executive experience does Sen. McCain have?

Griff   September 3rd, 2008 10:19 pm ET

I am not Barack OBama... But I would never leave Toto's to go through This hipocracy that is happening in Kenya ! Barack Obama is an egotistic idiot with no direction...

VALERIE   September 3rd, 2008 10:18 pm ET

CAN THEY PLEASE TELL ME HOW MUCH EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE MCWAR HAS? I'LL SAY ZERO. MCSENILE HAS NEVER LED ANYTHING EITHER, WHY CAN WE TRUST HIM BASED ON HIS EXPERIENCE IN THE SENATE AND NOT TRUST OBAMA BASED ON OBAMA'S EXPERIENCE IN THE SENATE? THEIR HYPOCRISY STINKS!!!!!!!!!!!

OBAMA/BIDEN 08

Brent Hall   September 3rd, 2008 10:18 pm ET

They are all–each and every last one–a group of God-forsaken, condesending, sight-challenged–I take that back: concern-challenged, group of politicians I have ever heard. Sure Obama let McCain, but he sounded like a reasonable human being doing it.

Rudy, for example, sounds like he's trying to insite(sp?) a riot.

McCain can only take us further into the abyss...no question. With Obama, at least there's the possibility of improvement.

Poor. poor Repubs....when you lack leadership, all you can do is pitifully cut & attack the opposition.

To them I shall not bid God's speed, fo they, too, shall receive of his judgement.

God help US if they win.

jaguar   September 3rd, 2008 10:18 pm ET

How much executive experience did GW have before becoming President? And what about Dick Cheney? How much so-called executive experience does John McCain himself have. This job requires Judgement. You can have all the experience you want. If you don't have the judgement to make the right decisions, what does the experience matter?

Really?   September 3rd, 2008 10:18 pm ET

To be fair, McCain has zero executive experience as well. Using this argument, are Republicans really trying to convince us that Palin is the most qualified of all the candidates running for executive office? It defies logic and is really pathetic.

Tony in Oregon   September 3rd, 2008 10:17 pm ET

I think it is curious that Republicans keep saying that Senator Obama has no executive experience, but some how they think McCain does. He has never been a governor only an legislator. Does being in Congress over a certain number of years mean one automatically can say they have executive experience.

Americans will not be fooled this time around. We are looking for a candidate who can lead, inspire and has good judgment. Senator McCain has shown us by his first act of selecting Palin as his running mate he lacks any of these traits. On the other hand, Senator Obama possess all of these traits and will serve us much better than we have been served over the previous 8 years.

Donna   September 3rd, 2008 10:17 pm ET

That's actually the number of minorites at the RNC convention....

Danielle MN   September 3rd, 2008 10:17 pm ET

McCain has no executive experience.
Maybe Palin should be at the top of the ticket.
HAHAHAHAHAHHA

Brent   September 3rd, 2008 10:16 pm ET

When is someone at CNN going to point out that GWB was governor of the huge state of Texas for 5 years. How did all that "executive experience" work out for him?

voter   September 3rd, 2008 10:16 pm ET

neither does McCain. He hasn't shown up to the senate to vote on any bill since april. He also has no execuetive experience. McCain's experience led us to Iraq and the economy down the tubes. He has not judgement. that is important. The obama bashing by the gop has to stop. tell us what you are going to do with the country.

Unhappy With Direction   September 3rd, 2008 10:16 pm ET

So.... when you can't make the bar.. you put in a whole new bar by which you measure everything? Executive experience, okay..sure.. and how much does McCain have? ZERO.

Steve   September 3rd, 2008 10:15 pm ET

Been watching the biggest bunch of IDIOT and LIARS ever on TV and cannot wait to see the Republican lose this election.

ZERO as in zero minorities in attendance...

Jim Hall   September 3rd, 2008 10:15 pm ET

WHEN I LIVED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII GOVERNOR GUIATANO WAS GOVERNOR. HE WAS A DEMOCRAT AND DID MANY THINGS FOR HAWAII. LINDA LINGLE WAS THE FIRST REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR OF HAWAII AND HAS DONE NOTHING FOR THE STATE. ALL SHE DID WAS FLY AROUND THE WORLD. SHE IS ABOUT AS USELESS AS USELESS CAN BE. ASK ANY PERSON IN HAWAII AND THEY WILL TELL YOU THE SAME THING. OBAMA 2008

Wil B   September 3rd, 2008 10:14 pm ET

GIve me a break.

HEr executive expreince rest on her party conrtolling the state. IT less than two years and itsnot like she has done much to beneift the rest of the country. She is a flipflopper herself. Its shear hypocrisy. Let's yeall 9/11 or terrorism enough that people will ignore the last 8 years. IF they are so proud why dont they run on Bush's record.. on yeah.. he doesnt have a stellar one.

Texas Trail Kitty   September 3rd, 2008 10:14 pm ET

Yeah, Sarah and Barack are in the same boat apparently. But the hypocritical Republicans are glossing over "Miss Beauty Queen and Journalism Major's" glaring lack of real experience. It seems to me that a constitutional scholar/lawyer should trump an ex-beauty queen/journalism major. Obama is a heck of a lot smarter than Bush and Bush had 'experience'. How did that work out for America? Oh yeah, it didn't.

Alex   September 3rd, 2008 10:14 pm ET

My dad used to call me zero when I was in HS and didn't do good in SATs. Did pretty good in HS thought. I got into college, graduated, right after college, got a job that pays 2x more than a typical right after college job and now I am married. Zero? Say again...

David   September 3rd, 2008 10:14 pm ET

Wouldn't that also apply to Abraham Lincoln?

Oh, too far in the past, right? Well how about John McCain then?

Robert in Seattle   September 3rd, 2008 10:13 pm ET

Zero! Zero! Zero! Zero! Zero! Zero! Zero! Zero!

The chances that the Republicans will get another 4 years in the white house!

Obama – Biden 08

TommyFH   September 3rd, 2008 10:13 pm ET

The GOP have said that Palin has more executive experience than the entire Democratic ticket, right? Well, if that's the case, she also has more executive experience than McCain. He has zero executive experience as well. Sure, plenty of legislative experience, but zero executive.

dd   September 3rd, 2008 10:13 pm ET

can any body define a US Senator are they leaders or not ?

Anonymous   September 3rd, 2008 10:12 pm ET

It's also the years of executive experience McCain has. It's also how many independant voters they are winning over.

GOP for OBAMA   September 3rd, 2008 10:11 pm ET

Do we know how many mayors of towns there are with populations over 8,000? It doesn't make ANY of them qualified to be V.P.

Notice how the GOP uses "executive"...... BUT.... Obama Has run a campaign with a large staff and MUCH more $$$$$$$$ than Sarah.

Obama – '08
Even the GOP is surprised by the pick!

Storn White   September 3rd, 2008 10:11 pm ET

And how much executive experience does McCain have?

Jon   September 3rd, 2008 10:11 pm ET

Umm.. This may be a dumb question... But how much executive experience does McCain have? He's been a Senator, not an executive.

Moreover, Obama has clearly run a better campaign with a cohesive message. McCain has flailed about looking for talking points and trying to steal Obama's positions.

D in Phoenix   September 3rd, 2008 10:11 pm ET

Are you sure they weren't counting John McCain's executive experience?

Come on, CNN, anyone make this argument should be asked if Palin should be on top of the ticket because she has more executive experience than all of the other three candidates combined.

Sandy   September 3rd, 2008 10:11 pm ET

WHAT! THE REPUBLICANS KNOWS ZERO, OVER HALF OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY KNOWS NOTHING NOTHING ABOUT OBAMA...WHY? BECAUSE THEY ARE REPUBLICANS, THEY ONLY KNOW WHAT THEY WANT TO KNOW...ZERO

Cynthia in Raleigh   September 3rd, 2008 10:10 pm ET

Umm, I'm confused. How much executive experience does McCain have? See, even the Repubs are confused! Even they think McCain was the president for the past 8 years!!

Obama 08

texas DEM   September 3rd, 2008 10:09 pm ET

I agree!!!!

CLINTON 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raj, TX   September 3rd, 2008 10:09 pm ET

You should not even dream about comparing Ms Palin with Mr Obama. She is no where even close ! She was a mayor…., really?? hahahahaha..
Being conservative does not mean being blind. Open your eyes and look for yourself what you have done.

Is Ms Giuliani a conservative..., he don't even have a good family record.

Agree, McCain is a good person.., but he is a republican. Indeed, he has done a lot for the country, millions have done so and we salute all those. But is he the right candidate for this job... NO, DEFINITELY NOT !!

Matt   September 3rd, 2008 10:09 pm ET

AGAIN, what RELEVANT experience does McCain have ???

If he hasn't accomplished anything in the Senate, then why is this counted as experience.

And his POW experience was something he did not choose, but something he survived.

Why is there NO talk about what McCain will do as President ? Instead we are told to vote FOR McCain simply because Obama is "bad".

And the belittlement of Obama's community service work insults the thousand of Americans who devote their lives to helping others with little money and little recognition.

Lifelong Repug 4 Obama   September 3rd, 2008 10:09 pm ET

I'm a little confused.... I'm reading McCain's bio and I don't see where he got executive experience. Where did he serve as a mayor or governor?

Sue in MI   September 3rd, 2008 10:09 pm ET

Yadda yadda yadda....same as McCain.

Ward   September 3rd, 2008 10:08 pm ET

Yes. That's how much foreign policy experience Gov. Palin has.

NY4O   September 3rd, 2008 10:08 pm ET

John McCain has the same amount of Executive experience that Obama has so maybe Palin be running for President cause John McCain has only run up the tab costing Americans million in Destroyed army aircraft and equipment and Billions in the Keating 5 debacle...
So much for Country First.I think not.. Rich Friends First, U low lifes get no consideration..

McCain Sexist   September 3rd, 2008 10:08 pm ET

What executive experience doe McCain have? I guess the republican should have nominated Palin instead since she has such great experience. How did the last GOP president with "executive experience" end up? Just look at your GOP poster boy Bush. Mr Executive Experience. Bush also had really high approval ratings as governor with a bipartisan approach in Texas.

McCaint/Palin = Bush

No Bush 3rd term.

Lone Star Wolf   September 3rd, 2008 10:07 pm ET

You got that right. IF I WAS OBAMA AND HIS SUPPORTERS I WOULD NOT ATTACK PALIN ON HAVING NO EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE. EVEN IF SHE JUST HAS SOME SHE FAR EXCEEDS THE AMOUNT OBAMA HAS. AND TO THINK YOU PEOPLE THAT SUPPORT HIM HAVE YOU ASKED YOURSELF ANY QUESTIONS ESPECIALLY ONE IMPORTANT ONE? JUST WHAT DO YOU THINK OBAMA CAN DO FOR THIS COUNTRY? HOW IS HE GOING TO DO IT? AT WHAT COST? YOU AFRICAN AMERICANS THINK HE IS YOUR GREAT HOPE, BUT FOR WHAT? WHAT IS HE GOING TO DO FOR YOU? GIVE IT UP YOU HAVE BET ON A BROKEN DOWN NAG WHO DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO COME OUT OF THE CHUTE. OBAMA IS ONLY INTERESTING IN FATTING HIS POCKET BOOK. THIS HE WILL NOT EVEN SUCCEED AT DOING THAT.

Remember, remember   September 3rd, 2008 10:07 pm ET

the truth in November

Mitt Romney's speech was absolutley divisive and disgusting

Huckabee is actually the best Republican speaker I've heard since Reagan (both decent men)

Verdict......the republicans are obviously in a mess.....so few seem to get it

those who do arent even in the race ........perhaps wisely so

Obama/Biden

or Ron Paul

but I wouldnt touch McCain/Palin with a ten foot pole

No Way, No How, No George McCain!   September 3rd, 2008 10:07 pm ET

I thought they were chanting George McShame's chances of being President.

How much "executive experience does McShame have?

I am kind of lost: When its McShame vs Obama experience matters BUT when it comes to Palin less experience is good?

AOA   September 3rd, 2008 10:06 pm ET

Has anyone asked them how much executive experience McCain has? This is not a particularly bright group....

bflo11   September 3rd, 2008 10:06 pm ET

This is laughable. How much "executive experience" does McCain have? Zero. Come on, people.

Ken, San Diego, CA   September 3rd, 2008 10:05 pm ET

The Republicans need to be very careful here.

The fact is that John McCain, then, never has had any executive experience either. Oh yah, and neither does Joe Biden.

Does anyone honestly, really think, then, that Sarah Palin (of the final four) is the most qualified person left to be president, because of her executive experience!

1.5 years of a governorship in Alaska (population 600,000) and a few years mayorship of Wisilla (population 9000) is not the experience needed to be president, is it? Oh yes, let's not forget her Bachelloriate degree in Journalism from the University of Idaho.

joseph azo   September 3rd, 2008 10:05 pm ET

why doesn't some one ask Palin how much the Republicans' stand on abstinance for youngsters helped her teenage daughter? Answer: ZERO!! That poor schmo they dragged to the convention...made him shave and get a haircut...hate to see how fast he cuts and runs when his almost mother-in-law loses the her bid for the vice-presidency.

dialuz   September 3rd, 2008 10:04 pm ET

Wow – desparate, disparaging attacks aimed to brainwash the public. Unfortunately, the Republicans are good at that. I am convinced that anyone able to really look thoughfully at the issues in a logical way would be hard-pressed to ever vote their platforms into office! Even if someone has selfish motivation as the reason for voting Republican, can you not see that in the long-term you will pay the price???
Obama-Biden '08!!!

Rob R   September 3rd, 2008 10:04 pm ET

What they really mean is how much chance John McCain has to win the election – ZERO.

Obama/Biden

Chuck   September 3rd, 2008 10:04 pm ET

Executive – zero. Playing community organizer – plenty. Sounds like a recipe to be President of the USA? Not so much. BHO, you'll have plenty of time to get more experience if the speakers tonight keep up the great work. Republicans are right on target tonight. I don't hear fear tactics tonight, I hear the truth and know the Dems are not right for our America.

The Oracle   September 3rd, 2008 10:04 pm ET

Let's see....

Palin: Council Person and Mayor of Itty-Bitty, Alaska. Governor of Alaska 20 months. A vast array of "executive" experience.

Obama: a Senator. Never a Mayor or Governor like Palin, so he must lack "executive" experience.

Biden: a Senator. Never a Mayor or Governor like Palin, so he must lack "executive" experience.

McCain: a Senator. Never a Mayor or a Governor like Palin, so he must lack "executive" experience.

So, by the Republican definition of "executive" experience, is Palin now the most qualified of any of the candidates????

Obama/Biden 2008

John   September 3rd, 2008 10:04 pm ET

Ironically, that's all the executive experience McCain has as well.

Rachielle   September 3rd, 2008 10:04 pm ET

Funny, because those same people chanting ZERO cannot tell us ONE thing, ONE executive decision she made as governer of Alaska (HI TUCKER BOUNDS).

CM   September 3rd, 2008 10:04 pm ET

Hey Linda...notice your state turns blue. Not wise to criticize a son of your soil when he has that much support.

McCain08   September 3rd, 2008 10:04 pm ET

And the next question is . . .How Much Executive Experience does John McCain have?

lb   September 3rd, 2008 10:04 pm ET

it's really disgusting how negative the republicans are. the democrats never got this personal, prefacing very semi-negative comment about mccain by saying he's their friend and a good guy.

it's an insult to this country that mccain chose palin to be his runningmate. does he not care what happens to this country?

Austin, capitol of the republic of TX   September 3rd, 2008 10:03 pm ET

I thought they were chanting about the executive experience of John McCain. Or maybe it was the chance of the Republicans hoodwinking us again.

Crystal Shaw   September 3rd, 2008 10:03 pm ET

Zero, thats funny...

That's about as much control that Palin has over her Unwed, Underage, Pregnant Daughter,

By the way there are several pictures of her 17 year old with alcohol, is the drinking age 16 in Alaska also?

hillary 4 prez   September 3rd, 2008 10:03 pm ET

PTA president Palin is a ZERO!!!!

truth-in-media   September 3rd, 2008 10:03 pm ET

Yes, and here's Romney:
"You know, for decades now, the Washington sun has been rising in the east. ... If America really wants to change, it's time to look for the sun in the west."

Good luck with that one. What's next? "For years now, the Washington Earth has been round. If America really wants to change, we need it to be flat again!"

Poor man - paid 46 million for a speaking slot and goes unintentionally hilarious in the first minute...

Dems Unite   September 3rd, 2008 10:02 pm ET

Is that how much intelligence is in that room? Is that how much thinking those people do on their own? Is that how much faith they have in Mrs. Palin? lol. Whatev.

Obama/Biden all the way to the White House!

Teddy Bancroft   September 3rd, 2008 10:02 pm ET

Funny, John McCain has zero executive experience too. Maybe this Sarah Palin person should be at the top of the ticket...

Jason, Los Angeles   September 3rd, 2008 10:02 pm ET

How much does McCain have?

Dana   September 3rd, 2008 10:02 pm ET

And how much Executive experience does McCain have?

Zero....Zero....Zero

ricardo williams   September 3rd, 2008 10:02 pm ET

It's sad the Republicans have nothing to offer and talk of war and patriotism. They talk of change and they are the party that needs to change move over and let the Democrats turn things around. Nothing of substance from the republicans.

What?   September 3rd, 2008 10:01 pm ET

I guess they didn't ask about Palin experience................

Elizabeth   September 3rd, 2008 10:01 pm ET

Boring!

Except that he has run arguably the most sprawling and disciplined political campaign in modern history. I have been pretty impressed with his efficacy as a manager so far.

fa   September 3rd, 2008 10:00 pm ET

Obama vs Palin is a distortion by the GOP to undermine Barack's leadership capacity in a subliminal way.

Obama is matched in candidacy for president with McCain.

Biden is matched in candidacy for vice-president with Palin.

DO NOT PROMOTE THIS DISTORTION.

Jatovi, NC   September 3rd, 2008 10:00 pm ET

I wonder what they'll chant for Palin, un-qualified?

Gracie   September 3rd, 2008 10:00 pm ET

Puh-leeze........

Is this the toddler section or the circus of clown section? I can't seem to tell the difference anymore.

Everyone at the RNC is a comedian. I'm glad they think it's funny, because I find the FACT that Sen. Obama wining over two keys states VERY JOYFUL!! What we would call "A joyful, joyful noise".

Like my momma would say... "go ahead, laugh NOW, because the TEARS will surely follow"....

michele   September 3rd, 2008 9:59 pm ET

what nerve she have obama have more than mcsame vice pick. what can she bring to the ticket well let me guess earsmark and scandal.

Replay the Democratic convention so that we can watch something of interest and also get a look at how America looks when Americans come together.

Atlian   September 3rd, 2008 9:59 pm ET

And how much executive experience does McCain have?

Matt   September 3rd, 2008 9:59 pm ET

Looks like Hawaii may be waking up.

So is Sarah Palin running For????????   September 3rd, 2008 9:59 pm ET

If you use this logic

SARAH has MORE Experience than MCCAIN!!!!!!!!!

Why do we keep comparing Sarah to OBAMA.

Obama is running for President and so is McCain...

Is McCain Dropping out?????

Breck   September 3rd, 2008 9:59 pm ET

McCain doesn't have any executive experience either. Obama has done a far better job of managing his campaign. The last President with executive experience we elected was George W Bush.

Adrienne   September 3rd, 2008 9:59 pm ET

That's their IQ. Yhaaarrrrr!

hick   September 3rd, 2008 9:58 pm ET

what do you call his campaign? is he not the executive in charge? i'd say he has awesome executive experience. what a bunch of dill weeds.

Greg FL.   September 3rd, 2008 9:58 pm ET

Mitt Romney, spoke of a huge deficit since the 80's and called it liberals. He spoke about Big Brother and called it the Liberals. Is he that out of touch. The deficit is compliments of a Republican President and a Republican War. The evesdropping on US Citizens was compliments of a Republican President. Romney like the GOp is out of touch.

sharon   September 3rd, 2008 9:58 pm ET

the question should be ..."how much Executive experience does John McCain have"? Answer 0

sneaky pete   September 3rd, 2008 9:58 pm ET

NEITHER DOES MCCAIN- hes been a senator for 30 years!! that is the dumbest argument ever, that she has more "executive experience" GW B was Governor of one of the 3 largest states and look how well he has done. My home town has a larger population than her entire state!!!

An actual thinker   September 3rd, 2008 9:57 pm ET

And McCain has how much, exactly?

Oh yeah! Zero. So your point is?

Jan Patrick   September 3rd, 2008 9:57 pm ET

How much "executive" experience does McCain have??
ZERO!!!

Tim   September 3rd, 2008 9:57 pm ET

Zero is the amount of morals McCain and Palin have. Both are cheaters!!!
