Palin asked for over $200 million in earmarks for 660K pop Alaska. What on earth would you need all that money for? She supported B2N and now doesn't, so she raised funds for the project and now dumped it? Where did the money go for B2N? Sorry, we don't need any more thieves in the Whitehouse.

My biggest concern with the Republican Party as an Independent, is that they would nominate Senator McCain for our President. He is showing signs of Alzheimer's - repeating himself frequently in short unscripted speeches, having problems remembering the name of his running mate and where she is from (had to have it on an index card), erratic emotions with agitation and outbursts, and poor judgment in not vetting his VP selection, not to mention lying about it - saying the FBI did a background check when they never even do that for anyone on a short list. He is no longer a maverick but more of the same - the US versus The world Neo-con mentality that will only get us into more wars and no support from other countries with his confrontational mentality. He is living the 70's over again. In his mind, it is still a battle against Communism. I feel sorry for him and think he needs help.

First of all....I am for Obama.

What I can't understand is why the Demos do not counter the Repubs when they say that Palin has more executive experience than Obama.

With this "Executive Experience" as a key criteria, only Governors would be eligible for the Presidency. And when you look at who is now president and remember that he was a governor, that really gives you some insight that being a governor is not necessarily the best training ground for president.

Brian: "Don't be fooled again USA. For eight years, the GOP has pulled the wool over your eyes. Every citizen deserves a basic medical plan, not just the few who can afford it."

NO THEY DO NOT!! Socialized medicine is the LAST thing this country needs. What we need to do is stop the invasion of Socialist ideas into our politics. It simply does not belong in this country.

If your job doesn't provide healthcare, get a better job, if you can't get a better job, get an education. Basically...do what EVERYONE else does to succeed!! It's not that difficult. Unfortunately, for the lazy out there it will take some effort. Suck it up...everyone else does!!

If you can't make it in a capitalist society, by all means find a Socialist country to call home. But, DO NOT change America into a Socialist country!!

Who cares about Ohio, or Florida for that matter. It would be nice for Obama to pick them up, but like he said before, its not a losing situation if he doesnt. All he needs to do is keep the states Kerry won in 2004 which wont be hard, plus pick up either New Mexico/Colorado or Virginia and he wins

My Husband and I were watching the convention last night just like we did the Dem. convention. We live in America -right ! So we were wondering where the Hispanics , Asian Americans, ect, ect, ect , were.
Maybe it was just poor panning on the camramans part .

Wall Street Journal columnist and former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan and former John McCain adviser, Time columnist, and MSNBC contributor Mike Murphy were caught on tape disparaging John McCain's selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate.

"It's over," Noonan said.

When Chuck Todd asked her if this was the most qualified woman the Republicans could nominate, Noonan responded, "The most qualified? No. I think they went for this political bullsh!t about narratives. Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and that's not what they're good at, they blow it."

Polls only call into land lines. Most young people of voting age have only cell phones and will overwhelmingly vote Obama. +10% to Obama.

The Ron Paul message is growing in volume and will take a lot of Republican votes away from McCain. -3% from McCain.

Given the US mortality rate and the age of many McCain voters, another 1% of McCain's votes will have have shuffled off this mortal coil before November. -1% from McCain.

if the media factored any of this in they would lose readership/viewership ... it's in their interest to make the race seem closer than it is.

McCain has run the dirtiest smuttiest TV campaign ads I have ever seen!!! Barack Obama has tried to rise above it all but has been forced to start getting dirtier with his TV ads as well now for effectiveness. Very sad it has come to that!
I wish he would use the FACT THAT MCCAIN HAD SEXUAL AFFAIRS FOR 5 1/2 YEARS IN HIS FIRST MARRIAGE BEFORE DIVORCING AND MARRYING CINDY.!!!!
Yet he stands on his high moral and ethical horse as a "conservative Christian" along with pushing his VP pick's moral conservative family values as well, trying desperately to sway the Evangelical vote!!!!

"Polls are meaningless" --> Yes, true.

But just wait til the actual vote. All the young Obama voters with no landline phone (only cellphone) don't show up in any polls. They're the "hidden margin" for Obama.

McCain skews to older voters that all have landline phones. Ha!

Exactly, wait til Governor Barracuda starts to negatively impact the polls thus allowing Senator Obama to increase his national lead. What was McCain thinking? Wait, he wasn't. We all know that if this was Obama's 17 year old daughter who was pregnant - not even his daughter, his third cousins daughter - all of you Republicans would be having a field day with the news and somehow claim that this would impair his judgment and he absolutely could NOT be our Commander in Chief. What's the saying...getting a taste of your own medicine?

YES WE CAN!

That is crazy. How come everytime I see Obama on TV, all his statements are prepared? I almost never see him doing question and answer sessions. All he does is walk on some stage with his sleeves rolled up at some podium cracking jokes. All he is is a stand up comedian. How could anyone even consider voting for him is beyond me?
I live in Ohio and our election process is still crooked . Forget the stories about the polls - the media needs to do a service to all Americans and examine closely the election process and any problems that exist BEFORE November - and start in Ohio.

Otherwise - more of the McSame - long lines to vote in heavily Democratic precincts due to purposeful understaffing; disqualified absentee ballots because they folded it incorrectly; machines that lose their memory - again in heavily Democratic precincts.

I mean are you really serious in wanting to give up 4 more years to the Republicans. We are in a desperate situation. Please think about it. George Bush has destroyed this country. He has not protected us from anything. People losing there homes, jobs, and hope.

our voices will be heard and it will be loud and clear. People will say EIGHT IS ENOUGH. We need jobs and someone with intellect to run the country which McCain and Palin obviously lack. I am a woman who is not falling for the pandering of the republicans. The republicans do not believe in equal pay for women but now they are the party of women's rights. Please. at least davis from the mccain camp was honest that the election for republicans are not about issues. they don't know what the issues are because they believe the last 8 years was good. out of touch much.

If McCain hadn't picked a running mate that could be re-hashed again and again by the American people and the media, Obama was probably going to win. But the race is now an actual race and I think most people will be watching with more interest than before. I've seen lots of elections and many different presidents over the years and my vote is still undecided. Polls don't win elections. When was the last time the poll won the election? People win elections and in the case of the Presidency (a team wins and a team loses). Hold on to your hat it really should be interesting between now and election time.

Question!!!!!!

If we aren't suppose to be talking about Governor Palin's unwed preggers daughter...why are the republicans making a big deal out of McCain meeting her?

Hey Republicans - hands of the unmarried preggers teen! Shame on you for putting her in the way of the press!!!!!!!!

To JOE KILOZ, why are you saying this? What do you know. I am so frightened of this person who is from the radical right and wants to turn our democracy into a theocracy. And so many people will not pay attention to what is happening at all.

Why do some of the Republicans call people who support Obama zombies. Maybe we just listened to Obama and liked what he had to say. They are the one's that's trying to convince themselves and the country that they are behind McCain and his idiotic pick. So who are the zombies?
