careful how you bark, Biden's has the worst bite, he hasn't even drew his sword, when he does America be prepared they are going to paint those attacks as sexist, how dare he verbally attack a woman, well politics is the only arena where attacks on either sex is acceptable, These two are going to get torn apart

""I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."" - that's SOOO sexist against a guy!

JK - so what's the difference between that and calling Obama sexist by pointing out that he's managed a team of 2500 and $30m monthly and her around 50 and $12m annually... and left in 20m debt?

Palin and McCain both have resorted to trying to tear down for they do not have a plan to reduce the deficit, solve social security, bring our troops home instead of keeping them in Iraq for a hundred years.

Neither has any forsight to solve the problems of education, clean air and water, decrease global warming, or have a viable plan to get a fair price for the oil leases. In fact they are for giving the oil companies a 4 billion dollar tax cut while the oil companies profits are biggest in history and still rising.

McCain does not have a plan to fix the failed health system in this country.

McCain and Palin believe if they concentrate on tearing down Obama and Biden they will rise above them, but they will find that does not work, we want to knwo what their plans for the country are, we know what Obama's plan is let McCain tell us his. He has already said he knows nothing about the economy. He is running on wars and it necessary for him to win, Bush and Cheney will start a war with Iran or with the breakaway provinces of Georgia.

Don't belittle a man for choosing to make 15 k a year (with a Columbia degree) to help a depressed area: 1) open a job center; 2) fight city hall over asbestos contamination in public housing; 3) give people who had lost their jobs some dignity back. Oh yeah, he followed that up by getting over 100,000 new voters in Chicago in 1992. By comparison, Palin paid over 40k a year to lobbyists to get pork spending (yep, that very thing she's against) for Wasilla.

Also, her "business" experience is in seasonal fishing and sportscasting. Obama was a civil rights attorney and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago, helping to mold a generation of bright attorneys. That is, he was exposed to problems and injustices that effect all Americans, not just the population of a tiny corner of Alaska.

If she is trying to parley her experience as mayor as a position of responsibility she is a bold face liar. Her duties amounted to presiding over city council meetings, leading the annual holiday parades, ribbon cutting at the new convenience store and rubber stamping whatever staff and the city manager put in front of her nose. Her job was solely a figurehead position usually filled by someone who thinks they are important. What a doofus.

Yes indeed, no matter what, truth prevails. This whole debacle is why republicans did not want to choose John McCain as the presidential nominee in the first place. Soon everyone will catch up to the real facts of why Sarah Palin has been thrust into the VP nominee spot. For all the talk about Obama being an empty suit with no plans, McCain is sure going all out to steal these "non-plans".
Everyone ask yourselves...what was Barack Obama doing in Alaska at the beginning of August? What was Alaska, Gov Palin included thinking about Sen Obama in July? Look it up. Hurry up before the truth gets burried in propaganda...

Thanks for censoring me, CNN, why don't you put it through this time?

So will this be considered "racist" just like Obama's comments on Palin drew "sexist" cries from the G(reed)OP?

Interesting line of attack - the McCain camp was trying to preserve "victim" status for her, and she will cede that as she comes out swinging. Perhaps that's for the better.

It's similar message or narrative inconsistency to the "experience/freshness" shift.

It also is subtly telling about the ad hoc leadership style of the candidate and his organization - that IS the one thing that has been utterly consistent here.

Palin is the most ridiculous choice I could imagine. I question the family values of someone who has a special needs baby and all the other children and chooses career first. Yes, her husband can care for the children, but I think that most people that have raised a Down's syndrome child will tell you that they need a loving environment, not raised by sitters and secret service. Her daughter's condition does not affect me, but the baby does. Then there is the fact that no matter how good her speech is, she is still not experienced in the international affairs. Do you think 20000 people would gather in Germany to hear her speak? Only if they needed a laugh.

Some people are attracted to this type of marketing because a women could become President.
In my view, Mrs. Palin's family issues (pregnant daughter, and newborn) is sure to have a psychological impact on the Governor and her immediate family.

McCain, 72, hopefully will retire now.

I really feel for her. She was only picked because she is a woman and they think they will get those that voted for Hillary. Guess what! My friends and I were for Hillary and not we are fore Obama. Oh yes there is about 25 of us so take that off of the PUMA list. We are tired of being included in such madness.

I hope she is ready to play hardball with Obama and Biden, then. There are also those candidates who can manage their kids, and those whose kids are obviously managing themselves.

Now I am just waiting for the New Yorker to feature a cartoon of Palin with her Miss Alaska Runner-Up Sash on holding an abstinence-only brochure with her pregnant daughter on the cover, and her drunk husband hurling in the corner.

It isn't the media that is against her it is the AMerican voting public. His woman is in over her head. She cannot manage her family. There is no way the smart American voting public is going to allow McCain to be such a maverick and get us into a mess. No lose cannons for the "regular guys" voting public.
She doesn't represent most of America-she has limited appeal to a small section of the voting public. THis is too risky a gamble for America.

Ok you heard it here first:

Sarah Palin tonight will show how bad of a speaker she is.
It will be a very poor delivery and you will be annoyed by her high pitched voice. The only persons she will convince are those already convinced of her qualifications.

However i predict she will do much much better when unscripted (when she delivers with her heart but not when she will use the sound bite phrases).

Anyway as most know (including Republicans) this election is pretty much over (if Obama keeps voter's turn out up).

Here's what's going to happen. She is going to give a speach tonight that will be well received. She will come across strong, confident and somehow will convince some people that her history makes her ready for the position. The media will then feel guilty and will over-hype the speach in order to not sound like all they do is question her.

Hopefully the media will remember though that all of the questions that have been asked the last few days still have not been answered. McCain's staff still believes that she will "be ready for the position by the time of the election". They still said that she was chosen becuase this election "is not about the issues". They have kept her locked up the last few days doing nothing but prepare for tonight. She still has not answered 1 question about herself since being picked. Her next step will be to go to "boot camp" after her son leaves for Iraq in order to prepare her for the election, campaigning and Joe Biden. Hopefully the media will not cave in to McCain and will continue asking questions until we get all of the information that we deserve as voters.

Well, I give her an 'A' for effort, however, it will not matter. As a life-long republican and a vietnam vet, I will not give my hard earned vote to McCain. I really feel for the boys in Iraq, they have sacrificed ENOUGH. They want to come home and they know the truth. McCain cannot and will not provide for them and us (vets). He has proven that time and unfortunately time again. I can guarantee you that we will be in a war with Iran before long. I have an 11 year old grandson, my last one!, and I be darn if he will be sent to fight a war or wars with one side basing it on religion and the other basing it on economic dependency. NO ONE WILL EVER WIN. I may be old, but I do know that peace, or the attempt of it, can never be wrong.

I used to live in Alaska when Sarah Palin was promoting his career by whisle blowing well known people of her party. To me it was sort of political coup, for sure enough a year later she was elected governor.

I don't mind whisle blowers execpt when they are doing that for personal /selfish aims. To me Sarah Palin should be ashamed of the way she treated the people who helped her be where she is today.

I also believe John McCain is all about winning, he thinks Sarah Palin will bring millions of Hilary's female voters to him. He doesn't know Sarah Palin, he doesn't care about her.

McCain /Palin ticket is doomed to fail.

What pitiful, tired, and worn strategy from the Republicans. Instead of focusing on the extreme issues this country is facing, they need to defame their opponents. Hopefully, it's become painful and transparent enough for another people to say, "enough."

Oh Candy, give it a rest. You've earned you Republican Operative paycheck, now go change.

Sarah's going to read the speech that was written for her by the Bush Lackeys. What do you suppose she will say, anything like an apology for the last eight years of trashing the country? Trashing the Constitution? Trashing the Bill of Rights?

I read some of the speech on the Huffington Post website. It is a decent speech. It should be it was written by the GOP best speech writers. She will deliver it well, she does have a BA in journalism and was a sportscaster. Tomorrow the press will say she was great but it won't change the facts that the community organizer she is refering to has a JD from Harvard Law with a specialty in constitutional law. He actually understands what our constitutional rights are. No she has a BA from U of Idaho. I am sure a good school but lets get real here folks

They have had her in hiding the last couple of days because they said they didn't want her to have to face the media onslaught because the media are 'out for blood'. If she thinks the media is tough, how on earth would she begin to cope with the dangers that face our country everyday?

Second, lets discuss how you are under investigation for abuse of power, took earmarks and left your town with $20 million debt. Third, McCain works for change such as voting aganist katrina funding, gi bill and equal pay for women. yeah that is change I can believe in. NOT
