Carly Fiorina is an unqualified hack that did little more than exploit H1-B visas and then get fired for incompetence.

Oh wait, she's the perfect Republican.

Looks like Palin will resign sooner than we thought - the Enquirer has a huge story on her this week and several more to come.
They say she had an affair with her husbands business partner.
Check it out.

hmm.. ok I get it. The Reublicans are saying these powerful women are going to help make their case for "change". Let me see.. change for whos pockets?.. the shareholders? I thought John McCain and this convention was about putting country first.. but whos country is it? I dont want to hear about the nuclear power issue, we all know it takes at least 4 yrs to add one plant to the 104 that already exit. What about solar, wind, and natural gas?.. How exactly is a John McCain administration specifically going to create, rather than export jobs? And drilling offshore is NOT going to reduce the price we pay at the pump.. it WILL put more money in the pockets of BIG OIL as they trade it on the world market. And Mit Romney touts about family values.. well we can debate what he values because during the primaries he said one thing; and now at the convention he is saying another. A flip-flopper if I ever heard one. A woman shouuld be paid the same but he wont say it because he knows John McCain has voted against equal pay, increases in the minimum wage, and voted for a war that produced NO WMD's..but it did produce over 4,000 American dead! And these men and women come back to their country after being wounded and get the Potomac-two-step in their care! One veteran I know told me that he can't find work, can't get the health care he needs. and John McCain and his Republican diatoms want me to vote for him.. hmmm.. I tell him to SHOW me something more than his words.. I, like many independents want to hear SPECIFICALLY what he will do and how his economic plan WILL restore America as an economic power rather than the punching bag it's become. Remember, that saying during the GHB's administration.."it IS the Economy STUPID!"?

At least speak in complete sentences and not in all caps, McCain supporters!

And try to make sense, ok?

I believe John McCain has missed the point. Because Sarah Palin has a uterus does not make her qualified. As a middle aged independent white woman I am insulted that John McCain would pick a woman who fights against every issue we have fought so hard for. By electing this ticket we are certainly not moving into the future. The hypocrisy is almost unbelievable. Take your Bible and your family, Sarah, go back to Alaska and this time sit down and read it ,don't use it for your own agenda.

I didn't hear much from Ms Fiorina, about 'HOW' all the neato things she was predicting, for 2013, were going to be made to happen. Emply rhetoric.

The stuff they've all been claiming Barack Obama is 'guilty' of offering.

Mitt Romney just echoed, verbatim, words Ms Whitman spoke, about 'equality of opportunity', and then went on to describe it, in the incredibly narrow way that the Wreligious Wrong do: two married parents, well-behaved kids who go to good schools and fear God.

Well, that might be a point, except it doesn't INCLUDE most Americans. They're talking to the rich, white, straight, anti-union, pro-military, business entrepreneurs. Too bad MOST people aren't starting businesses! MOST people are lucky if they have 36 hours without benefits at the local Wal-Mart.

FORTY PERCENT of women and children in the USA live below the poverty-line.

I wonder what colour the sky is, on the rich folks' planet. This is proof they are not in touch with reality...

I'm quite surprised that through all the ***Palin /Mc Cain***bashing over her vetting process, or lack thereof, that some brilliant journalist or news station hasn't realized that although many have accused Mc Cain of picking Sarah hastily as a running mate because Obama didn,t pick Hilary Clinton has to be totally ridiculous. Don't you think for a minute that months ago when the GOP vetting process began the Republican Party had to consider that there was a reasonable possibility that Hilary would have been the presidental nominee. Therefore Palin would probably still have been Mc Cain's choice. Unfortunately, the media is out of control and is becoming more like A TRASHY tabloid. WAKE UP AMERICA, AND USE YOUR OWN COMMON SENSE FOR A * REAL CHANGE*.

Are you kidding me....Nobody paid attention to the women who spoke and who would, while they are accomplished their speeches were..........blah................. As I watch this RNC it appears to me that many of the woman in the audience appear to be well off, if they are trying to appeal to "common folk", I don't think they are going to do it at this rate. They represent more of the same. So far this convention has me more convinced that they are totally out of touch with those who are struggling to provide for their families. The decisions that have been made for our nation, being led by a "republican" President Bush resulted in a large deficit, high gas prices, lack of jobs, troops over worked, its so sad. I will listen to Palin's speech, but it will not change who I KNOW is best suited to lead our country in this day and time and that is OBAMA/BIDEN 08

No, it is not suprising. Colin Powell and Condi Rice do not indicate a significant outreach to American women and minorities. Republican views are still largely too intolerant and closed-minded for most women and minorities to feel like their issues would be considered or their needs addressed by this party. I dare say that most of the minorities that are attracted to the republican party are either ultra religious or very wealthy. For the rest of us, the democratic views are the closest match available to our views, and the party that has a clearer grasp of the issues facing urban environments where most minorities live. Female bodies or ethnic skin tones in presidential administrations don't do much good if they are not allowed to bring in their unique perspectives and to address some of the specific needs and issues that women and minorities face.

Good evening again,

i wonder how do people around the world hear those words and look at all the faces. They see a clear difference! In one party you see many differences while in the other you see there is no difference.

Major reform is needed in mentality and language used. We are producing our own insecurities at home between ourselves when using one words to mimmick or be nasty about our opponent. There are better way to communicate ideas and elimiate prejudices!

I think the Republican party needs to diversify their party by reaching out, and I am glad to see they are doing that with women, although they really don't reach out to the black community. I am a "liberal" and a strong supporter of Obama, however I find a lot of the blog comments and media frenzy troubling. I don't want McCain/Pallin to win, but my fellow liberals on the blogs, she's not an evil unfit person. She may be a highly qualified VP candidate and possibly an important person in American politics in the future. Lets give her a chance before we jump all over her. Also, just because she has five kids doesn't mean she can't be an effective public official. All that being said, there are probably some significant debates that can and will be had with Pallin, but for goodness sakes, let the women speak. This really has bordered on sexism, although I think it is mostly unconscious.

One more point, when Obama said cool out on covering the Pallin family by stating his mother had him when she was 18, I was really impressed with him.

Are these two individuals the best they have tonight to rally John's McCain's base? Why would they want those tax cuts which will affect the wealthy? I actually worked for Hewlett Packard some time ago. I did'nt make that much as a Country Coordinator in Paramus, New Jersey. Hey Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman, Got Milk? Got Meat?
Got Money? I have very little of each and am in poor health. Sell it somewhere else cause I ain't buying. I can not afford to.

This is a big joke. From the day of the VP announcement, I said the McCain campaign is going to play the sexism card when anyone scrutinize Palin. Hillary Clinton started it and McCain wants to capitalize on it. They are scraping the bottom of Clinton's campaign barrel. It's amazing that Obama has been under scrutiny this entire campaign and when it's being rightfully applied to Palin (excluding the tabloid journalism of about her daughter and her disabled infant) the gender card is played. What's funny is that when the anti-Obama crowd criticized Obama, they launched the attack with the follow-up remark that "anyone that criticizes Obama is accused of being racist." Nevertheless, the attack was launched against him. The republicans (and Clinton) have committed nothing but distractions this entire campaign.

It's hilarious that the Republicans think it's a great idea to have 3 people with net worth of over 100 million dollars in a row to show how "in touch" they are with suffering Americans.

Meg Whitman - 2.6 Billion
Carly Fiorina - 100 Million
Mitt Romney - 300 Million

Good evening Mr. Gergen,

I think it is a symptoms of offering the same old medicine and not offering some medecine that actually unites both sides. I am surprise that in 2008 the faces are not much diverse and listening to Mr. Romney it is clear that the republican party idea is to divide in order to conquer! This party really needs some clean up!

This is not really a surprise. There are 11 Democratic women Senators compared to 5 Republicans. There are 5 Democratic women Governors compared to 3 Republicans. It is safe to say that there are more women in high level positions in the Democratic party.

Is Palin the best women they could find? Majority of her experience is as a major of a small town and during her tenure the city went from being debt free to 22million in the hole, that's a city of 8000 people? That's the majority of her so called experience, she has been governer for only 20 months. How could anyone in their right mind compare that to Obama who is not was a state senator for 7 years and Illinos (12 million+ population) and that after spending 12 years teaching "constitutional" law. She at one point belonged to a Alaska Independence Party who’s primary goal was secession from the rest of US, she belongs to a radical church that believes that Jews deserve to be victims for terrorism. How could anyone want to put such a nut job a heart beat away from the presidency just because she is a women, WAKE UP.

Guess what, Hillary is not running in 2012, She is putting her resources into staying in New York. The democratic party will adhere to the issues we all care about. You in turn will try to plunge this country into another 4/8 years of the same politics.

Obama and Biden are playing this right. They're taking Palin seriously and letting the media shine the light of truth on the whole circus.

McCain has already started to hide from doing interviews. Watch out for excuses to duck the debates.

Bush also had a number of homosexuals working for him. Rove, Rice and Harriet Miers. He had a diverse cabinet and many had a lot of self loathing issues. Hence why they punished themselves with the social conservative cross they were forced to carry for the party.
When did the republican party get highjacked? It's a sad thing to watch. So much good that is drowned out by so much rigid ideology. and now they say Palin is the new face of the party. The old noble elephant is being killed from the inside.

But doesn't Karl Rove give HIS choices mind-grabbing points? Oh - sorry - those that believe this stuff don't have a mind.

You must be kidding. Its nice to see that the family values, wacked out christian right crowd can throw their morals and convictions out the window when it comes to voting for a republican. Palin fits the bill, though, with McCain---- she is corrupt, a war monger, a typical lying republican (or is she?) who will say whatever it takes to win.. and worry about the concequenses later. These two Nazis deserve each other........................ and to the Republican convention... why are the people there falling asleep during the speeches?????
