Palin to highlight reform

Palin will speak Wednesday night.

Palin will speak Wednesday night.

(CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republicans' vice presidential candidate, will highlight her record as a governor and mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, when she speaks to the Republican National Convention Wednesday night. She will also call for reform in Washington, a top aide to Palin told CNN.

Watch: Palin tours RNC stage

"She will speak as a governor, a former mayor and someone with both hands on the steering wheel of America's energy economy," Palin aide Tucker Eskew said. "She will detail her record of shaking up the status quo in Alaska and standing up to entrenched interests to put the government back on the side of the people. She will make the case for senator McCain as the only candidate who has fought for America and the best man to protect us in dangerous times."

Palin is slated to speak in the prime-time 10 p.m. ET hour.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but Sahra Palin is on the Vogue 2/08/2008 magazine. She probably took the picture in 12/2007 when she was supposed to be 4/5 months pregnant. I hate to keep harping on this subject but it really bothers me if she covered up her daughters pregnancy to promote her political career, I am not toatally convinced with the story the RNC is trying to shove down our throats.

Let's ask her this question.....she decided to keep her child after finding out he had Down's Syndrome. So, if one day they find a gene that tells us if a person will be homosexual or heterosexual before they are born, what would she do? One the one hand her "social conservative values" would not allow her to have an abortion because she is pro-life, but on the other she does not support gay issues. What would she do?

Does John McCain actually think that he can actually capture Hillary supporters????? He has got to be kidding. No pro choice educated woman will ever accept this ticket.
Just remember , everyone, if McSane gets elected, he is going to be in a position to name two or three judges to the Supreme Court.
Please think very very carefully before you cast your ballot this year.
Do we really want to go back to illegal abortions???
Think people, there are too many important issues at stake!

I am excited and thrilled that a NON LAWYER, NON SENATOR, from anywhere is on the ticket. All of the blogs that I read here are ignoring the fact that there are simply too many LAWYERS in office in Washington. There are too many people making PROMISES on BOTH SIDES that they know they can not keep. For once, we have a breath of fresh air, a real live human being, running for office!!! How many of you bloggers (or news folks) had the priviledge of attending Harvard or Yale Law Schools? Why can you not get behind someone who obviously has beaten the odds to get where she is and is clearly a force to be reckoned with?

Give me a break! Give Sarah Palin a shot! Can she do worse than the do nothing congress that tells all of us that the USA is a failure and a disgrace? Or, the news media that backs this bogus line?

  9. Old white lady for Obama

A scary scenario, Palin potentially a heartbeat away from the Presidency.
Here's a woman who denies the science of global warming, believes creationism should be taught in schools and appears to have more in common with the Taliban than any realistic outlook on life in this century.
Some day I hope to see a woman as President, preferably one with a brain.

ROCK ON PALIN!!!! Those of you who can't get past the fact that she has a NORMAL family with issues just like yours and obama's – need to take a breath – seriously, get a life!

She can talk about her time as governor of AK, but I wouldn't advise her to mention that she's only been there for 2 years. Do they really want to hold up her service as mayor of a town with less than 10K people, though? Isn't that a joke in and of itself? And if, by 'shaking up the status quo', they mean her habit of firing public servants who disagree with her, go ahead.
She's a very pretty lady (I know, sexist, but don't think that was not part of McCain's plan) and I'm sure she's fairly intelligent. I'm also sure she is driven or she would not be where she is today. But she is NOT qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. No way.

To hear the Reps talk about her qualifications. She is more qualified than MCCain. He has never run a state either. the fact that Alaska has the lowest population in the nation I guess doen't mean anything. The Reps would have been excited if McCain would hav e picked any woman to capture those women who would vote for a women because of her gender and not her policies. She is everything that I am against and it would be a big step backwards for women if she gets elected.

  14. old white lady for Obama

She's on a mission to legislate her religion onto our children! It will all sound great to the endless sea of old white people at the RNC, but the real America is not represented there! Wait and see.

America was founded on the ideals of freedom of religion and the separation of church and state!!

And just how many times last night did someone mention war and hating the "Russians"?! How about, we can't feed our children, We don't have jobs, We can't afford educations?!

Theses people are still living the Cold War.

I found this (2nd listing) in a very simple Google search by typing in "Democratic Party I.Q.": –Given the strong connection of low-IQ groups with the Democratic party...-. From what I've read within these comments, the proof is clearly there (*not to mention all the spelling & grammatical errors...proofread, for God's sake).

You (Democrats) have the audacity to be so concerned about Palin and her moral character as you continue to hold on to the most morally and legally corrupt couple that has ever defamed the character of our White House and country...the Clintons. Continue to focus on the war, Bush's lack-of-popularity ratings, the economy, whatever! Stay away from the moral character and intelligence issues regarding McCain & Palin...you're basically bringing a knife to a gun fight!

GOV. PALIN HAS HER HANDS FULL WITH HER OWN PERSONAL PROBLEMS AND FAMILY. SHE HAS THREE MINOR CHILDREN WHO WILL DEMAND HER ATTENTION AT THIS VITAL STAGE OF THEIR LIFE. AND THEN SHE HAS HER PRECIOUS INFANT SON TRIG WHO WILL NEED A MOTHER MORE THAN SHE WILL EVER KNOW.

COUNTRY FIRST HELL. THE ORDER IS GOD, FAMILY AND THEN COUNTRY. GET IT TOGETHER REPUBLICANS.

BUT IF THIS IS YOUR "BEST" THEN LET THE VOTING BEING...BUT YOU WON'T WIN.

I think you should start the REFORM word in your FAMILY. Poor boyfriend of your daughter. I am sure he does not want to be there. But well what can you do. If you were able to fire the chief, what more a 18 yr old bfriend can do. This is what you call a REFORM? A shotgun behind the boyfriends head? I wonder if he was threatened just to be there. Of course, because of FAMILY VALUES???? Get real.

MAYBE SHE DECIDE TO REFORM HER LIFE WHEN SHE GOT PREG. WITH TRACK AND HAD TO GET MARRIED, MARRIED ON 08/29/1988
TRACK BIRTH 04/29/1989 SHE NEED TO REFORM HER OWN LIFE FOR THE BENEFIT OF HER CHILDREN. SHE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE MAKING VERY GOOD CHOICES.

  24. Republican making a run for it!!!

I went to the emergency room to get the cotton swab part of a q-tip unstuck from my ear and the bill was more than two hundred dollars for ten seconds of work. I don't have insurance because I am a serial small business owner and the republican's are not addressing health care for all or at least some kind of friendly revision and they are not saying anything about this economy or housing market that went down on their watch. I am voting for the guy talking about solutions for the entire country, I am voting for Obama in 08 and in 2012 if they don't get it right by then!

I've noticed that about 95% of the bloggers on CNN sites are really into bashing McCain and, especially, Palin. Nuthin' to do? Not workin'? Hopin' Obama wins so you can continue to receive your paycheck from the Nanny State that you don't want to see go away?

I've never seen the MSM and Dumbocrats so apocalyptic about a candidate. They are doing their best to trash her whole life before she can present herself cuz they are scared to death of what she brings to the table!
