You need to aks yourself if ever you have seen someone going to a cementary convention of the RNC, their faces are old like a monster.

Country First? This comming from the people that leaked the name of
a CIA agent? I hate seeing Carl Rove on CNN as I don't trust him at all. The only reason he and Cheney aren't in jail is because Bush
got them out of it. I think it is Country First as long as the wealthy
don't have to do without first.

I truly respect McCain as a veteran. I truly respect all military personnel. But how many times do we have to hear the story of him being a prisoner of war? Give me a BREAK !!

In the end. . . we all need to do the right thing and vote on November 4th. My belief is that if you choose not to vote then you forfeit your right to complain.

I am confident in my vote for OBAMA/BIDEN 2008.

Country (Club) First

Peter (CA)   September 3rd, 2008 9:22 pm ET

The sign needs to be changed:

Prosperity for the ones who already have it. The rest of you are on your own.

Gina   September 3rd, 2008 9:18 pm ET

Country first? I thought God should be first. Is this Idolatry?
Prosperity? Can I translate that into Greed? One of the seven deadly sins.

Dana from Las Vegas Nevada   September 3rd, 2008 9:18 pm ET

Does that sign say Prosperity I suppose life is good when you make the money that most of the Republican supports do. Have you noticed that most of the speakers at the Republican convention that are not in politics are EX CEO's. Like they have to live paycheck to paycheck.

I do believe that the Republicans honestly think they are doing a good job, that is what scares me the most. They have done great harm to the American way of life!!!

I for one think I am NOT better off than I was when Bush took office. Simply put the Republicans spent more of our tax monies that any other administration in history! Is that conservitism? I think not.

Lance   September 3rd, 2008 9:15 pm ET

I've got a scene from the floor for you, how about Sarah Palin praising the Alaska First party. Maybe she should just go ahead and burn the flag considering she's a secessionist after all.

I'm horrified at the scandal surrounding this woman.

anyonmous   September 3rd, 2008 8:59 pm ET

bush is the worst president ever ever even worse than richard nixon so if they dont believe bush how are they going to belive mccain

ted tchorzewski   September 3rd, 2008 8:57 pm ET

it is important for our candidates to make decisions; as picking issues running mates, i respect both canditaes and let us give them a chance to prove themaelves. it is important to report the news, but as in any reporting you make your point and go on; as we would like to hear the issues which will confront our country look at all the experience that has run the country the last 8 years, maybe a fresh idea and goal is what we need. i can envision one day where the presidential race will contain different parties on one ticket; mc cain and obama, how would we vet that; but i see that when you are dealing with dedicated politicians the country comes first; ands any possibilty could work if you allow it to happen.......

no way, no how, no McCain!   September 3rd, 2008 8:53 pm ET

If Romney goes after Michelle Obama tonight, the entire country will be after his behind tomorrow.

Mere from Michigan   September 3rd, 2008 8:52 pm ET

Someone was wondering where all the hatefullness is coming from should look to the Republicans. That has become their banner. John McCain knows this after what G Bush said about him in S. Carolina in 2000 campaign but instead of standing his ground he caved in and joined them so he can be on the ticket this year. If the Republicans say spit he does it. Where is all that courage and honor he is always giving himself credit for? Maybe his nickname of "Songbird" given him by some Vietnam Vets was well deserved.

chas alabama   September 3rd, 2008 8:49 pm ET

can't wait for the debates

rbloom   September 3rd, 2008 8:45 pm ET

The thing is, those seats are likely to be empty all night. Most of the camera shots are set up to avoid it, but if you watch carefully, you'll see that the convention is only half-full, at best. Where are all the Republicans? And why isn't this apparent lack of interest and enthusiasm being reported? The Democratic convention had people lined up for miles to get in. The Republicans can't fill the house with free beer and pretzels.
Also, why are we getting nothing but happy talk and insider kidding around when people are being beaten and arrested outside by the hundreds??
ARE THERE ANY REPORTERS THERE???

Mere from Michigan   September 3rd, 2008 8:44 pm ET

IF everyone wants to know what Alaskans are saying about their governor now, checkout their Channel 11 News from Anchorage and the Anchorage Daily News blogs. They mostly calling her liar, liar, liar.

Texans for Obama   September 3rd, 2008 8:43 pm ET

Where did the Republican's get that sellout black woman and that sharecropper's son that wanted Obama to be a slave in the fields again. How sad to exploit this man.

Slavery days are over, and the Republicans are wanting people to believe this is where black people belong in the fields picking crops? Then you have a black woman who is saying minorities is going to be the majority which is true but do these old white people want to hear this?

No African American in their right mind is going to speak at a Republican convention unless your ClarenceThomas. Condelezza Rice isn't even there or Colin Powell. That must tell you something.

POST THIS CNN!

Wow n your hot stuff at the polls
The Mayors race was won with what 2500 votes?

Elaine Haumann   September 3rd, 2008 8:39 pm ET

This is in response to Dana interviewing a "Democratic, Hillary female supporter " who is now voting for Gov. Palin because she is a woman and that the "Democrats" have hung the Roe v. Wade issue over Democratic women for years. What this moron does not understand is that if a Republican is in office when the Supreme Court Justices begin to retire, a republican Judge will be appointed. Once this balance has changed in the Supreme Court, we WILL see Roe v. Wade threatened. How will she then defend her pro views on Gay rights and Women rights. "Oh, I had no idea"!

Independant party female

Reublican for Obama   September 3rd, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Lets really look at the experience comparison:

Obama:
B.A in political science from Columbia University, with a specialization in international relations
J.D. in Law from Hardvard, graduated magna cum laude; President of the Harvard Law Review
12 years (92-04) teaching constitutional law
7 years State Senator: sponsored more than 800 bills
4 years Senator for Illinos, a state with 12.8 million people

Palin:
Bachelor's in journalism from University of Idaho
4 years Wasilla City Council (8000 people)
6 years Wasilla mayor (8000 people)
1 year "Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission"
20 months governor of a state with 660,000 people

Do the Republicans really think we're so stupid that we would believe she is more experienced than Obama? Give me a break…

bob in LA   September 3rd, 2008 8:36 pm ET

Obama-Bots drank the kool-aid and th Mc-cain-ites aren't smart enough to make thier own home made signs or know which ones to hold up at which time.
We are a sad people.

MORE REPUBLICAN CORRUPTION??? HHHUUUMMMM!

KW, Vail AZ   September 3rd, 2008 8:31 pm ET

It shouldn't take Gov. Palin to learn the Republican doctrine. Their answer to everything is "Cut taxes and regime change". If she can learn when and where to use those two phrases she's got it made.

Cecil   September 3rd, 2008 8:26 pm ET

Palin to hit hard, Tonight Let Her.

Sen. Obama Been Taking The Kitchen For !8 Months and Counting!

Where Still Here, Still Strong!

Palin Been At It For Four Days.

Hank   September 3rd, 2008 8:22 pm ET

Let's not forget that the Republicans put George W. Bush, worst president ever, in the White House. Remember their enthusiasm for him? I am honestly scared to death when the GOP backs anybody. After voting in Dubyah not once but TWICE, I think the Republicans need to sit this election out....

Patricia   September 3rd, 2008 8:12 pm ET

Mccain has given no specifics on solving Economic crisis,Healthcare, rebuilding our infrastructure and wants to privatise social security and maybe re appoint some judges
Does McCain really understand us Blue Collar people????

Juanita   September 3rd, 2008 8:02 pm ET

Prosperity?? Sure!! For Exxon-Mobil maybe (and all big oil companies getting ridiculous tax breaks!), or for Halliburton (and all the other big corporations making themselves rich off no-bid contracts in Iraq), or for McGeezer, forgetting how many homes he owns. But for the everyday person, Prosperity is certainly not what the Repugs party stands for. What, do they think if they wave enough signs in the people's faces it'll hypnotize them into believing it? I think not.

Didja Notice   September 3rd, 2008 8:02 pm ET

Tonight we heard from a black lady and nobody in the crowd was paying attention. Then a sharecroppers son that very few applauded except when he wanted Obama to work the fields with his father. Now there is no applause and a lot of mumbling like "who put her on the stage" since she said minorities will be the majority in a few more years, just what a bible belt conservative wants to hear. Is this for real? I never heard such negative grumbling in my life.

Rob in North Carolina   September 3rd, 2008 8:01 pm ET

You guys must stop with the Palin bashing. She is John McCain's soulmate. She is his "lobster."

Sorry, I can't keep a straight face anymore. This Palin selection is ridiculous. It is such a great shame to see how far McCain has fallen from 2000 when I was a staunch supporter of him.

Barack Libermann McCain   September 3rd, 2008 7:59 pm ET

WHY IS EVERYBODY HATING EVERYBODY? THIS IS AMERICA AND WE ALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH AND OWN OPINIONS.

Maybe tonight there will be more people in attendance. Last night I was amazed at the vast number of empty seats.

seriously??   September 3rd, 2008 7:55 pm ET

Country first? They don't even know what our National Anthem is? When did "The Star Spangled Banner" get removed as our National Anthem?

RapidRay   September 3rd, 2008 7:55 pm ET

I eek my living as a sign maker, so from a professional point of view...

1: Whoever made these did a poor job of relaying the message that John McCain is trying to convey and should have spent a little more time getting to know their clients need. A simple solution would to be adding the word "Selective" before the word prosperity.

2: The kerning is too tight. Adding negative space would be a plus at this point. But I can see that McCain has already added the negative in his VP selection, so it will have to stand for now.

3: Poor choice of colors for the prosperity signs. Maroon (burgundy) colors are prone to fading when they are brought into the light. Is this a subliminal message?

4: The upper and lower cases don't work well together. The capital letters appear to have more strength than the lower ones. You need to change your cases or you can risk people turning away.

5: Shoddy materials. These are not lasting sign, but are designed to fade and fail within the next month or so. Temporary at best. I suggest using word that will not change or become weathered with age.

6: On a personal note, I have never like a sign made into a simple shape. It doesn't make a statement that will last. With a little less adherence to the old rules, you can better relay a message. The real trick is to not go overboard and keep within the principles of the message.

Colo Sprgs, CO   September 3rd, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Prosperity? Are you better off now than 8 years ago? No? Then No McCain! ELECT – Obama/Biden '08

All those black and blue suits. Where does the common man or women fit into this RNC? It looks more like a funeral for our country.

McCain & Palin ticket should have been a Independant ticket,if they wanted to dis-own Bush & Cheney

robin in nj   September 3rd, 2008 7:50 pm ET

I still would like to know how a person can get a degree in journalism (not law) and become VP....????...where's the legal knowledge???...guess with my master's in education I can run the entire educational system for any country???..where is her (Palin) experience???...she's just not qualified...bad pick McCain..Reps are desparate...women..real women have brains..and she's no Hilary Clinton....maybe she will choke at her speech that maybe she really wrote/..hey at least she is using the journalism degree..smile

I found it really amusing when the Republicans have a sign saying Country First. This afternoon there was in interview of McCain by Charles Gibson of ABC about the choice of Palin. One of the last question was about foreign policy and Ben Laden, Mcloseit said President Clinton and his (twin) G W Bush tried to arrest Ben Laden without success but Mcwar said himself he knows exactly how to get Ben Laden. If you are putting Country first how come you didn't help to get this terrorist arrested but prefer to wait to be President (which will never happen) to do so? COUNTRY FIRST?? give me a break.

velmeezee   September 3rd, 2008 7:46 pm ET

Now i see why the McCain camp chose Palin for VP. Since July, Sen Obama has included the development of the Alaska natural gas pipeline in his energy plan. McCain has not supported funding for the project. But now he has been informed of the importance of the pipeline of course he had to do whatever he could to gain cotrol of the situation, and Obama messed up and gave the credit for the pipeline idea to Begich instead of Palin....so presto bango we have Sarah Palin for vice president of the US. That explains why everything was so rushed. Palin herself told the public that she was delighted that Obama had taken on the pipeline project. However the McCain people have gotten to her and convinced her that she has been snubbed and that McCain is the one who is going to give her the "credit she deserves". However, she's ultra stupid if she thinks this whole thing isn't just a power play by McCain. He has just used Palin AND the honor of being nominated for VP of the US as a monopoly move to try to thwart Obama.

VOTERS OF AMERICA: PLEASE CHECK FACTS!!!!!

a very diverse crowd was present at the democratic convention. i'm not implying anything about the republican convention, but, i'm proud of democrats and i'm an independent. barack obama is a uniter of everyone. these republicans got dogs that don't hunt, this year. anyone who can bring together as many different people as obama has,has this arkansas white-boy's vote.

Geezer&MooseOnTheLoose   September 3rd, 2008 7:38 pm ET

When the D.Convention was on CNN cut away all the time never heard man y of the speeches and Wolf would continue to talk while they were speaking but yesterday noticed they had every speech on even though they were not on anything except slamming Obama and Biden not a thing of any interest t.
The Republican had many empty seats and what we viewed was how many times Cindy McBush changes places to set real interesting?NOT

"thought this was America the melting pot of the world "of age and race sure not in the Republican Party from that photo op as the people were mostly middle agedt o older ,white people the race mix was missing.
I am sure they never hid in the Bushes

BV   September 3rd, 2008 7:37 pm ET

If Palin becomes Vice President can they claim executive privledge and then she won't have to testify in her Alaska troubles? Then the public will never really know. It has been said that the results of the investigation won't be coming out until around election time.
I don't know how things work, just curious.

Ian MacIsaac   September 3rd, 2008 7:37 pm ET

Notice how there's nothing saying "Republicans" at the convention, anywhere?

HD   September 3rd, 2008 7:37 pm ET

Here in common sense Nebraska we have an old saying – McCain's team is being a bunch of 'bawl calves'. This isn't about Palin, it is about McOld and Crazy!

Suck it up McCain – I appreciate the fact the media is doing what he didn't do.

John Ostrowski   September 3rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

I watched your coverage of the Democrats all last week and now I'm following the Republicans. Last week you continually showed the representation of various groups at the convention in your FACT line. This week those data are conspicuously missing. Is that because this looks like a much more male, much more senior, much whiter group of delegates? That's the way it looks to me. Is there a message there?

What!?!   September 3rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

So far I have only seen a bunch of old rich white guys telling me that they are going to make themselves richer at this convention

Susan, CA   September 3rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

"County First"...that's a laugh...look at his choice for VP. I would say that is not putting this Country first.

Rob   September 3rd, 2008 7:32 pm ET

There is just sooo much going on with Palin it is just impossible to believe that she was vetted. McBush’s poor judgement in this mess will go down in history. Lets review.
1. Trooper Gate, fired Trooper for divorcing her Sister.
2. Husband used Palins office to fire employee in personal dispute.
3. Palin pushes family values but has a pregnant child.
4. As Mayor of tiny Alaskan town she tried to ban books in the Library that she did not like.
5.Has no real experience but was chosen over many experienced candidates including women just to pander to the evangelical vote.
6. Released today, allegations of Marital Infidelity.
* How long will the GOP drag this fiasco through the Mud before Palin withdraws and goes home.I

pattik   September 3rd, 2008 7:31 pm ET

What I want from ALL politicians is to do what is best for the USA...not a BRIDGE TO NOWHERE...stop the Let's Make A Deal Attitude...You all are getting paid more than enough to be able to think MACRO... IT would be best to recind the tax break for the wealthy...they pay less tax than the lower brackets...they paid 70% in Nixon's time, now they pay 35%? (the lower brackets were not reduced!!) YOU ARE CAUSING THE REVOLUTION THAT WILL BITE YOU ALL...DO YOUR JOBS OR QUIT THEM & LET OTHERS WORK...NO ONE SHOULD BE SLEEPING ON THE SENATE FLOOR, ETC...RETIRE...

I went to a stadium, which I don't do, and sat around hotdogs and beer, which I don't do, and had the best time of my life. I'm so glad I was there. I love Barack's campaign, and I love America.

Ex-Republican for Obama   September 3rd, 2008 7:30 pm ET

There are many questions about this VP pick, but the biggest question I have is:

The Anti-American beliefs that her husband has, actively supporting a group whose sole purpose is to have Alaska secede from the nation.

Has she had a sit down with her hubby? Or is she also an anti-american that will legislate and lobby for the secession of our states from the union?

McCain decided to put RELIGION first when he selected Gov. Palin. Now it appears that Paline believes that the war in Iraq is a "task" from God?

Will McCain be forced to rashly go to war if the Evangelsits feel there is another "Godly" task....McCain's judgement is being exposed as a rash, vindictive man who wants to control the press!

If he really felt Leiberman was the right choice, and if he was the maverick he wants us to believe he is, he would have put his "Country First" rather than cave into the extreme right, religious fanatics.

It amazes me how much the males are threatened by any females in the race...Queen Elizabeth was not even 21 years old (I think) when she was forced into her position...and now 50 years later, Queen Elizabeth still has her job...EVEN with all the things in which her kids have been involved....WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT??? AND how about Indira Ghandi & Golda Meier & that poor woman who was recently killed in Iraq or Afghanistan? Plus there are many more females that I can't remember their names....Phillipines' leader, etc.
Women need to hear the call...they are still underpaid & if you have not been noticing: more horrible crimes against women than men. Now is the time for all young women to think about yourselves and not listen to what the men tell you to do. WAKE UP & SMELL THE COFFEE....

Romney taking a swipe at Michelle Obama when he should be taking a swipe at Palin. Mormons don't have the same family values as Palin, McCain, Giuiliani and most other non-Mormon Americans. Romney knows the reason why he wasn't selected for VP or Pres. so he takes the attention off of himself by going after Michelle, how low can you go. If Romney had been selected his family would have taken the worst negative publicity you have ever seen.

Repugnants   September 3rd, 2008 7:09 pm ET

Okay, these posts have closed but I'll write my comments anyway.

-Why should Joe be removed from the committees? I'm an Obama supporter, but we still have freedom of speech.

-If Mitt Romney attacks Michelle, it will be war. What kind of a pansy man attacks a woman? Bring it on Robothead.

-Don't know what's going on with the Enquirer, but it is none of our affair. I think the Dems should stay out of it. When the Repugs couldn't pin the baby's daddy story on Barack, they blamed the media. They have to blame somebody in order to get sympathy for a losing campaign.

Republicans run an exclusive cult like club   September 3rd, 2008 7:02 pm ET

Country first. Are the Republicans excluding everyone that doesn't wave the flag or support the war efforts? Are Republicans snubbing all the independents and undecided Democrats and Republicans with this cult like slogan and slamming of everyone that doesn't agree with them?

I can't wait for the Democrats to use Karl Rove in an ad where he slams Tim Kaine for only having 3 years as Governor and being Mayor of Richmond, a city he said was only 105th in size in the USA. Where does that put Wasilla?

Carl from MI   September 3rd, 2008 7:01 pm ET

Because they put our COUNTRY FIRST... THEY GAVE TAX BREAKS TO THE RICH... GAVE TAX BREAKS TO BIG OIL... INVADED A COUNTRY THAT WAS A SOVEREIGN NATION... CAUSED THE DOLLAR TO CRASH ALONG WITH OUT ECONOMY... AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON SUB-PRIME LOANS AND THE HOUSING MARKET!!

Re Romney's sniping at Michelle Obama:
I am an American who has NOT been proud of this country for the past eight years.
I am not proud of a system which allows a nerd to toy with the electorate to see how far his schemes can go toward getting a
cake-for-brains into the WH;
I am not proud of a Supreme Court which rolls over and hands over the WH to an individual who didn't show up for military service; and
I am not proud of an administration who lies its way into invading a sovereign country.
"PUMA" should be changed HADMA ("Honor and Dignity," you finish the rest.)

I am an independent and I was undecided not anymore, after seeing all this Palin stuff and how they continue defending and justifying their bad choice I already know where my vote will go to next November.

gene   September 3rd, 2008 6:21 pm ET

Well Voter.. the Repubs are probably spending the same amount of money if not more than Obama... Obama just happens to be spending more out his campaign budget, as opposed to McCain who has more outside groups spending money on his behalf. And if you're voting based on issues... I have yet to hear any specific proposals from McCain other than Drill and Surge. Everything else he lightly glosses over.

But let me ask you... what exactly makes Obama arrogant, racist, sexist? I keep hearing it.. but i have yet to see any example of him being any of those things. Care to actually supply something showing examples of this?

As far as the article here... the signs are insane! Country First? If it was country first, he wouldn't have selected a VP solely for the purpose of getting women's votes. Romney, Lieberman, Pawlenty were all WAY more qualified. The Prosperity sign is even funnier! The repubs have sent us into the worst economic state we've had in decades.. and McCain wants to keep all the same policies that got us there! I'd like to hear his ideas as to what he'll actually CHANGE to produce this prosperity. Common sense says that you can't keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results.

Luke   September 3rd, 2008 6:18 pm ET

What a bunch of hypcrites. If the Republicans were truly thinking "country first" they would have never let McCain choose Palin as his running mate.

7/10 WA   September 3rd, 2008 6:18 pm ET

Once again I will hold my nose and watch the repugs convene. It's all in walking the talk and being as informed as possible. Those of you who refuse to even listen to the other side would do well to follow suit.
We'll hear the familiar battle cry of , "the evil horde is upon us and we are your protectors".
Country First or Corporations First? We're probably seeing a typo but it was to late for a reprint...
Prosperity? Sorry fellas, but not since the '90's...

I have a question: They keep talking about Palin's executive experience, then bring up Obama. What about McCain's executive experience? Does he have any? I'd honestly like to know. They never talk about that. They're comparing apples and oranges.

Hakim   September 3rd, 2008 6:18 pm ET

I hope to hear something tonight from the RNC, besides be scared of Obama and he is a liberal and we put country first. None of those things is a policy position, wait I forgot this election is not about issues. This convention looks like a bore and does not reflect how diverse our country is. There is a reason Republicans only get 5-10% of African American voters and that is because there is no embracing of A.A. Also why is is people are able to say someone is sexist at a drop of a hat and it's no big deal but if someone is being racist then that's off limits and why is race being injected into the campaign. Remember Obama epitomizes Amerian values, family values and traditional values. God, family and country are all things Obama honors, what else does one need when it comes to the American values.

Obama a true American 2008 and 2012, Hillary 2016 and 2020.

Let's not forget the Governor Sarah Palin supports Senator Obama's Energy Plan:

August 4, 2008, Fairbanks, Alaska – Governor Sarah Palin today responded to the energy plan put forward by the presumptive Democratic nominee for President, Illinois Senator Barack Obama.

“I am pleased to see Senator Obama acknowledge the huge potential Alaska’s natural gas reserves represent in terms of clean energy and sound jobs,” Governor Palin said. “The steps taken by the Alaska State Legislature this past week demonstrate that we are ready, willing and able to supply the energy our nation needs.”

In a speech given in Lansing, Michigan, Senator Obama called for the completion of the Alaska natural gas pipeline, stating, “Over the next five years, we should also lease more of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska for oil and gas production. And we should also tap more of our substantial natural gas reserves and work with the Canadian government to finally build the Alaska natural gas pipeline, delivering clean natural gas and creating good jobs in the process.”

Governor Palin also acknowledged the Senator’s proposal to offer $1,000 rebates to those struggling with the high cost of energy.

“We in Alaska feel that crunch and are taking steps to address it right here at home,” Governor Palin said. “This is a tool that must be on the table to buy us time until our long-term energy plans can be put into place. We have already enjoyed the support of Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, and it is gratifying to see Senator Obama get on board.”

The Governor did question the means to pay for Obama’s proposed rebate — a windfall profits tax on oil companies. In Alaska, the state’s resource valuation system, ACES, provides strong incentives for companies to re-invest their profits in new production.

“Windfall profits taxes alone prevent additional investment in domestic production. Without new supplies from American reserves, our dependency and addiction to foreign sources of oil will continue,” Governor Palin said.

prachergal   September 3rd, 2008 6:14 pm ET

You can't have it both ways. The choice of Palin didn't put country first--it put McCain first and the GOP election.

Switching positions by McCain doesn't put country first either--it puts McCain first.

We are smarter than this. We won't be hoodwinked by placards and slogans.

Charlotte   September 3rd, 2008 6:14 pm ET

I can hardly wait. I think it is the most important speech of this election. The person who stole Obamas' thunder will be expected to light up the sky. The sparks she has created will live in history. I may vote for this ticket, even though I do not agree with all the positions of McCain/Palin and the GOP. They want to appeal to the Hillary supporters, which is more then the Obama campaign and the DNC have chosen to do. I am glad Hillary is not on the ticket with Obama as that would have forced me to vote for Obama. I think Hillary should remain a US Senator and refuse any and all offers to be a Secretary of any kind if Obama should win. She stands a good chance of being the next Governor of New York. Half of the Democrats wanted her for POTUS and that is a lot of people. This election will be history making no matter the outcome. Maybe it is time for the Government to have a "Hockey Mom" perspective. To finally to have a person who has lived in the real world. McCain describes the VP position as, a tie vote breaker and to check on the health of the President. If something should happen to McCain, Sarah would need a VP. Then she could pick a senior Senator as her VP, as Obama has done.

Sherry Johnston said she was worried about her son dealing with all the attention. She said it was difficult enough for teenagers to deal with any pregnancy, having the entire nation watching made it worse.

Levi Johnston, a high school hockey player for Wasilla High School, is not listed on the team roster for 2008-2009, and his mother wouldn't say if he graduated. She said simply he's no longer a student and any further information would have to come from him.

The intense media scrutiny has stunned this suburban community about 40 miles north of Anchorage, with reporters camping out near the Johnston home.

"This is out of my league," Sherry Johnston said. "I'm just a country gal and I want to keep it that way."
