LOL, of course the poor support Dems, that's what the party is about. Stealing from the hard working to give hand outs to the poor. That way, they can appease a lazy base and build support toward the Socialist movement.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."
- Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

chas alabama   September 3rd, 2008 8:54 pm ET

never heard of them

Puffy   September 3rd, 2008 8:42 pm ET

Where's latinos,Asians and Blacks in RNC? This party is for only old whites people! This not what America stand for.

shocked   September 3rd, 2008 8:42 pm ET

They came to cheer Palin and her 114,650 votes to win the Gov. seat. John will be so happy
That should be plenty to put you over the top for dog catcher

Jeff Brown   September 3rd, 2008 8:41 pm ET

WOW! Sorry I'm going miss star studded entertainment like this!!!!! (Tongue planted firmly in cheek)!

no joke, boston   September 3rd, 2008 8:02 pm ET

you go look at the cover of any country music CD or records you get your hands on.

there on every one of them, you see the self-absorbed all=self=important cowgirls and cowboys staring at you.

quite mesmerizing, eh?

talk about uninspired and uninspiring.

Colo Sprgs, CO   September 3rd, 2008 7:55 pm ET

When John McCain says Country First, he's talking about MUSIC.

wreme   September 3rd, 2008 7:52 pm ET

Abel Maldonado, a california state Senator, didn't make sense at all during the Convention this afternoon. Is he a comedian or a senator? Why would they let someone who doesn't know what to say take stand in an important event, such as this one. My God, this election this year becomes a joke this year! May God help America>>>>>>!

Jeff, Burlington VT   September 3rd, 2008 7:51 pm ET

Who the heck are these guys? Cowboy Troy?! Uhhh, Rock on guys. Rock on.

Beth   September 3rd, 2008 7:41 pm ET

For those who are still asking "who ARE these guys?", John Rich is part of the country duo Big and Rich, known for hits like "Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy," and "Coming To Your City" (also the opening theme for ESPN College Gameday). He was also a judge on "Nashville Star." "Cowboy Troy" is also a Nashville artist, specializing in something called "Hick-Hop," or country rap. Kind of a failed experiment.

I hadn't heard about Big Kenny supporting Obama, but I wouldn't be too surprised. Nashville Democrats are about as rare as Hollywood Republicans, but both are starting to be more vocal.

erik   September 3rd, 2008 7:37 pm ET

why would anyone agree to appear on CNN? there's no upside in talking to the mainstream press. it's all downside.

Cuban American Woman   September 3rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

Are these the REAL Brokeback Mountain guys?

mjnagler   September 3rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

I have been following the politics of both sides & hear nothing on how the consitution is going to be saved .starting with the first ammendment. & decrease of powerof theAdministration. I hope to leave my grandchidren & great grandchildren a Great America

KC   September 3rd, 2008 7:31 pm ET

Has /anyone noticed that the RNC is not diversified? America is more diverse than what is represented by this party. I wonder why????

KC   September 3rd, 2008 7:29 pm ET

They look good!!!!! Are they a couple?

TRK   September 3rd, 2008 7:27 pm ET

Palin is going to blow it for McCain and the Convention has got to be the deadest thing I have ever seen.

Keith   September 3rd, 2008 7:27 pm ET

You CNN people are so LEFT WING you are at the ready to go wipe the snot and boogers off OBAMA's nose! You suck!

The democrat hate-fest continues here at CNN, on the Ticker and on screen too. You guys really need to get a life!

Anne E.   September 3rd, 2008 7:05 pm ET

So.......it's okay for the GOP to bring out its celebrities, but Dems get slammed? I watch a lot of the Democratic Convention, but saw very little coverage of any celebrities other than those who were performing. But this is okay?
Who ARE these guys, anyway???

connie   September 3rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

what would Palin do (if she becomes president) if her special needs child has a life threatening situation and there is a major crisis (major earth quake in calif, or a terrorist attach on a major city in the us) who would become her first concern. Her child or millions of Americans?

JB   September 3rd, 2008 6:59 pm ET

They predict a million jobs will close by the end of the year. "Google It" Wake up America. There isn't enough welfare for all of us!

Republicans Hate America   September 3rd, 2008 6:53 pm ET

Oh look they have a token black man at the convention.....No more redneck leadership!

William, from Cali!   September 3rd, 2008 6:51 pm ET

Where is Kanye South, when you need him!

BOOTSTOMPER   September 3rd, 2008 6:50 pm ET

Why it's the leaders of the log cabin republicans. Butch and Buff.

Zuq   September 3rd, 2008 6:50 pm ET

Wait? Are those guys celebrities?

What woman in their right mind would support Palin? She doesn't believe in Pro-Choice. What about the gays and lesbians? Palin/McCain – Nope. What about the people that actually understand what's going on with the economy and healthcare? Palin/McCain – Forget about it. Who's left? The crazy war mongers and people making money off of the oil dependency. That's a very small population McSame! We are educated and know how to tell the truth from the fear games by the GOP.

CNN, PLEASE POST THIS!

J. Dean, Juno Beach, FLORIDA   September 3rd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

THOSE TWO WHO ?????????????????????????????????????
IT SEEMS BOTH HAVE THE SAME SICKNESS AS OLD MAN JOHN McCAIN. SEE BOTH ARE DOING THE SAME SIGN AS OLD MAN JOHN McCAIN DOES.

Danny from Phoenix   September 3rd, 2008 6:48 pm ET

Wow.. of COURSE country stars from the Red Belt would support and make 'fight songs' for John McCain's campaign. He is the one who will keep their tax breaks, as they thrive high above the average Joe their music appeals to. You celebrities disgust me.

Charlotte   September 3rd, 2008 6:48 pm ET

Why all the comments about the number of blacks missing from the RNC convention? It's a know fact all blacks who voted for Obama did so because he is black, no other reason.

rhoward   September 3rd, 2008 6:45 pm ET

Is it really big news if a rich black person shows up at the Republican convention? I think not.

Tyrone Brown   September 3rd, 2008 6:39 pm ET

One of the few diverse images from the Republican convention.

Obama/Biden '08

No Hillary = No Obama   September 3rd, 2008 6:39 pm ET

CNN has a watering hole? All I want to know is how much Ted Turner contributed to the Obama campaign?

YaYa   September 3rd, 2008 6:31 pm ET

The Black dude is OK . . . He's been properly vetted. He's with Big & Rich . . . We'll actually he's just with Rich 'cause Big Kenny is supporting Obama. OK, he's half-vetted.

Daddy Yankee   September 3rd, 2008 6:24 pm ET

Don't forget to report on Daddy Yankee and his concert.

denny   September 3rd, 2008 6:21 pm ET

AND? SO WHAT...RED-NECKS STICK TOGETHER

Tori   September 3rd, 2008 6:15 pm ET

Great Cowboy hats to again let us know America is ok!.....Um another plant is closing in my state. Again we wonder how to pay for education and they are giving a thumbs up! Like the Right tells hollywood STAY OUT OF THIS!!!!!!!!

VB   September 3rd, 2008 6:15 pm ET

Who is the celebrity now?

Ellie   September 3rd, 2008 6:08 pm ET

OH Nooooooooo, not country music.

If you think voters were falling asleep the last couple of nights, this will be like giving sleeping pills to one of Sarah Palin's Alaska mooses. Lights out.....

Who are these cowboys?

EDW   September 3rd, 2008 6:07 pm ET

Hmmm, yeah I think he is the only black person you'll see at the RNC. Heck, i didn't even see any Hispanics.

Steve A. , New Braunfels , Texas   September 3rd, 2008 6:06 pm ET

headem up,move'em out, get along little republicans, your out of here!

jackson   September 3rd, 2008 6:00 pm ET

Why is CNN give more positive attention to the Democractic party than the Republicans?

Brendose, Oceaside CA   September 3rd, 2008 5:56 pm ET

Security! Security! A black man slipped into the RNC! Is that Colin Powell? Oh.....ok. A RICH country singer..........

Well........let him in (but check his bag for drugs and guns)

EDW   September 3rd, 2008 5:55 pm ET

GO TO HUFFINGTON POST NOW!!!!!!! CHECK IT OUT.

Barbara   September 3rd, 2008 5:55 pm ET

Question? are they republicans or Democrates. I know they will put on a show. Question? why is it that they can rake Obama over the hot coals, but palin you can't. Is she that weak of a canidate that she has to be protected and Defended by others in her own party? Answer YES

Monica for Obama in Indiana   September 3rd, 2008 5:52 pm ET

At least it helped to add a little more colour to the convention.
Bet they were paid to attend.

R.I.F.   September 3rd, 2008 5:44 pm ET

The RNC Convention is almost like watching a movie so bad you can't stop watching it because you want to see just how bad it will get. Tonight we will hear attack after attack after attack after attack on Obama. I suspect tha Palin's speech will be good in presentation. She was a beauty contestant ( Carly, this is not being sexist, I'm just stating a fact) and a tv journalist so she knows how to perform in front of a camera. I'm more concerned with her taking questions about the economy , the war and healthcare at a press conference.

ba   September 3rd, 2008 5:43 pm ET

.... better than last night's music sampling. but what's with the country music people anyway? it seems a somewhat reactionary form of music ... so i guess it makes more sense in a reactionary setting as well. let's all wind back time and pretend we are home on the range again in a more simplistic society. i don't even dislike country music personally. i just find it somewhat odd that it's probably the only form of creative industry that is primarily right-leaning.

Douglas, Los Angeles California   September 3rd, 2008 5:43 pm ET

...your point is ?

-K&H-   September 3rd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

Yeah did you see the sea of no offense but White people this party is screwed up. They have no real diversity

Michael in Houston   September 3rd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

Who are these 2???? So what! Great one African American shows up and this is news? News Flash CNN: 97% of African Americans are supporting Obama, some for the wrong reasons (just because he is black) but for us that are for the right reasons, the more the merrier.

Moses   September 3rd, 2008 5:41 pm ET

Wow so exciting, gotta love the CNN folks getting all honkey tonk. Can you stop slinging your propoganda?

BTW is it CNN's mission to undue Sarah Palin? Isnt that uh oh Partisan???

An American unit patrolling the Tigris River near the city of Tarmiya exchanges fire with Iraqis. Both sides apparently thought they were under fire by enemies."
