Convention to air Palin biography video

The RNC will air a video Thursday night highlighting Palin's biography.

(CNN) - A video highlighting Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin's biography and record as Alaska's governor is set to air at the party's convention Thursday night, senior McCain aides tell CNN.

The three-minute video was originally slated to air Wednesday night before Palin's speech at the convention but was postponed due to time constraints. McCain aides said the video makes a "compelling" case for why John McCain chose Palin as his running mate.

"Mother, moose hunter, maverick," the video's narrator states. “Mayor, governor, maverick. The original maverick made an astute choice when he asked Governor Palin to join him in his effort to remake Washington.

"Alaska, a far corner of America that accounts for 20 percent of our domestic oil, has produced a remarkable woman who's never been afraid to put her city, state, or country first - regardless of consequences," the narrator continues.

Sorry, but I think that Political candidates should not have someone write their speeches for them. They should write their ow. Too bad they don't always believe in or do what the speech says they will.

He was a maverick longer...he is a right wing puppet.
I think most will think this has been over used about him , me thinks they try to hard to prove this .
And Palin definely puts city , state and country first.. Looks as if family is way down the list ... so much for family values.

Palin should take care of her own home, like most other "liberated" woman, who are diligently screwing up Amereica.

The ship is sinking, who cares if it's a Dem. or Rep. at the helm. I didn't think we could get any lower then Bill Clinton and G. Bush.

Well – the ex-Mayor of Detroit of is looking for a job.....

Isn't a couple Mavericks what we've had for the past eight years?? How about electing a President and Vice President who can get along with others and are open to advice.

"CNN failed to acknowledge the historic nature of Plain’s nomination.
To all the women at CNN, you should be ashamed working for an organization that doesn’t even acknowledge this Historic event."

Gerraldine Ferraro beat Palin to being historic by about 24 years. Palin is the first female VP put up by the Republicans, but that's something to make the Republicans feel ashamed. Especially since Palin wasn't put up for the sake of the country or for her readiness or qualifications, she was put up to pander to the base.

First everyone is complaining that no one knows who she is or anything about her, and when they are shown who she is and what she is all about, they don't like that either.

Cannot have it both ways folks. I sure wish I knew just who the hell Obama was – I get the uneasy feeling that he is hiding his true person. Show me movies of Sarah anyday – the more the better – bring out in the open who she is.

I don't know why but looking at this picture I expected to hear HI -Hitler at any moment and I am not that kind of person. Something about the picture is as erie as the thought of Palin being a heartbeat away from the presidency!!

I would just like to say that as an evangelical female christian I would hope I never stoop to the nastiness, hatred and mockery we observed last night. Coming from Palin was especially hard to swallow since she had nothing to do with the campaign until now and didn't even know what a vp did a few weeks ago. Now she is going to belittle Obama who successfully won the nomination and everyone else involved. I can't make any sense out of that and don't think a lot of christians are going to accept such a sharp two-forked tongue as spewing out the truth about much of anything.

Are the standards for female politicians so low that people would praise this speech? If this had been a man giving the same speech he would have been characterized as mediocre at best.

True sexism is setting lower expectations for women and then being wowed when they meet or slightly exceed these lowered expectations.

This is the way we relate to small children to build up their self-esteem but hardly seems appropriate for a VP candidate.

    I'm insulted by this.

  11. Don't get fooled!

The McCain Camp needs to stop whining. Of course the media is going to vet Palin's background. Obama wasn't whining when he was getting smeared by the right and in some respects, the left in the primaries. He set up a web site explaining all the smears and....are you listening McCain Camp, he did interviews to answer any questions about his background and upbringing. How long can they hide Sarah Palin behind fake speaches and McCain spokesmen?

Congrats to Palin -the new Poster Child for the Right. She certainly mimics the rest of the talking heads in the party. "Dis" everyone who isn't a Registered Republican. No one else is a patriot or stands up for the USA.

Sad that she is already a Rove/Luntz puppet. Frame the 'talk' and control the buzz. Republicans can't seem to discuss anything. They can only 'spin' and 'frame' in an attempt to attract and appease the vitriolic Right. I thought she might actually be an independent woman. She toed the line last night and was in no way an independent thinker.

I'm always amazed that the rhetoric is so hypocritical. "Pro Life and For Capital punishment"; the environment is only good for destroying and providing money (Clean coal? Clear skies? Anwar – a refuge for oil rigs? Drill first – investigate later) She certainly didn't confuse us with the 'facts'.

Where was the 'policy meat' ? all we heard was vitriolic paraphrasing and oxymoron's.

i watched her speak, she is down to earth and has a very good sense of humor. but she spent her entire speech tearing down her opponent with misleading facts. she has told us everything that is wrong with the policies of obama and nothing about her own policies. at times, i thought her tone was condensing and mean.

Hope the info coming out of Wasilla gets good circulation: she left the town significantly in the red; rife with cronyism in her style of governance. Stay tuned.

How can you love America, and hate Americans. That was a cheap shot about Barack's set, but hey they're used to cheap shots.

Barack took the high road, by not dealing with her children and her daughter's pregnancy. She took the low road by attacking his service to his campaign set. Some leader–NOT.

The liberals are running from the fire. They know the best thing they have is the fact that Palin's daughter is pregnant. Woop tee doo. Obama is pathetic and his sham of a campaign will be outed in November. Look at his voting recors, or lack ther of. He is a joke as a canidate and McCain will be the winner. Obama and Biden have no plan other then to tell you to be afraid and the are the savior, although the only plan they have is to raise taxes. NO OBAMA 08

I found the entire speech by Palin as unchristian, unprofessional, lacking any solutions as to what she plans on doing as the next Vice President, which God forbid happens. She calls herself a Christian, but yet she obviously didn't teach these values to her Daughter, and yes what does that have to do with her ability as a Vice President, nothing, but yet they attacked Obama on his values as a Christian. She was distasful in her attacks and, quite frankly, she is a hypocrite in her double standards. I am looking forward to seeing the debate with Joe Biden and Palin, the gloves are off now. The democrates did not exhibit such crude behavior at their convention; what a difference in watching the Republican convention, all they did was attack attack attack, but no substance!

I want CNN and all the news agancies to do their job and interview the Governor about her views on domestic and world affairs starting with her expressed view that the war in Iraq is part of Gods plan.

If she is so privy to god's plans, what does he wants us (her and john) to do next?

Since most of us in the lower 48 states can't feed our families hunting moose, what is her plan for getting America out of the depression caused by her party?

How much of her churches teachings will be part of her platform if she were to become president?

I don't care about her children or husband but, I want to know how she will act if she becomes President of the USA!

I am a huge animal lover, not only am I pissed about her stance on global warming, hunting, and bounty of wolves she also is referring herself and other "hockey” moms as pit bulls with lipstick? I OWN a pit bull and I have had enough with negative media stereotypes and demonetization of this breed.

  22. John Mccain/Bush ticket

Bah humbug! None of what we see oin this so called video will distance Mccain from the fact that he is still heavily in favor of continuing Bush's agenda which is exemplified by his voting with Bush 95% of the time in 2007. Quite frankly I think Mccain doesnt have the intelligence to come upp with his own agenda.

This is a joke right? McCain and the rest of the Republicans are pulling our leg. They can't be serious about this woman. ALl that came out of her was lies and half truths to decieve the American public. I am a Cnadian and have been following this election very closely as the United States economy affects ours as well. I have to say this. If the American people elect McCain and Palin, then your country is finished, for a very very long time. The whole world is watching this and a lot of people are laughing at John McCain and the Republican Party. This has to be the biggest political blunder in the history of American Politics.
