Convention to air Palin biography video

CNN

The RNC will air a video Thursday night highlighting Palin's biography.

(CNN) – A video highlighting Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin's biography and record as Alaska's governor is set to air at the party's convention Thursday night, senior McCain aides tell CNN.

The three-minute video was originally slated to air Wednesday night before Palin's speech at the convention but was postponed due to time constraints. McCain aides said the video makes a "compelling" case for why John McCain chose Palin as his running mate.

"Mother, moose hunter, maverick," the video's narrator states. “Mayor, governor, maverick. The original maverick made an astute choice when he asked Governor Palin to join him in his effort to remake Washington.

"Alaska, a far corner of America that accounts for 20 percent of our domestic oil, has produced a remarkable woman who's never been afraid to put her city, state, or country first - regardless of consequences," the narrator continues.

I was actually trying to get this general comment to Jack Cafferty, so please excuse my use of this venue to be heard:

Per media reports, and Republican surrogates, Gov. Palin has an approval rating of 80% from her constituents in Alaska. This means 536.042 of the 670,053 reported to live there by the U.S .Census Bureau, say she's doing a good job. The U.S. Census Bureau states that Illinois' population is 12,831,970. Sen. Obama's term in Illinois' 13th District (not State, District) according to the washington post.com has a population of 653,647. Question: How does Gov. Palin justify lauding her STATEWIDE approval rating over Sen. Obama's supporters when that population is only 16,406 more than Obama's former DISTRICT population?

    The definition of a maverick:

An unorthodox or independent-minded person; a person who refuses to conform to the views of a particular group or party; an individualist.

Do the Republicans know that they are nominating someone who will dump them and their ideals?

No video is going to make a compelling case for why John McCain picked this woman, after 15 minutes to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. He may be a fool, but the rest of us are not.

How scary is this person? It was God's will to go to Iraq? What else is God going to tell this peron to do when she gets in the whitehouse?

  9. Oh boy....

    America,
We can continue to let Rove & Company dirty politics persuade us. Enough is enough. Time for a different party in the White House. We've already experienced the Republicans for eight years and they have been brutal.

What kind of mother chooses a career over raising her child with down syndrome and a teenage pregnancy? What kind of father would? I'm not sure if 'Hockey Mom' is the right title for Sarah. How about: 'Abscent Parent'.

If the media would take a look at all her scandals and start reporting them then this would be over already.

I don't have to post them cause plenty of other people have already.

All media news outlets need to run with them.

Don't be afraid of them trying to bite back. There bark is worse than their bite.

    GO FOR IT.

    Also. Cindy's dress. 300, 000 dollars. Who's elitist now?

  19. Finally Happy

I am appalled by Palin. How dare she act that community organizers do nothing. When Washington turned their backs on situations such as Katrina, it was the community organizers that were there for the people.

But okay, lets be real...what do you expect from a Barbie that was born in Idaho (not much diversity there) and then moved to Alaska (even less). It is amazing to me how people in this country still choose to be blind. Comments were made about how the Repubs were always happy to be Americans, well most of you never saw the America that made our grandparents sit in the back of the bus, or not be able to drink out of "white" water fountains, or go into restaurants. There really isn't anything for you to be unhappy about. Well for me, I'm ashamed that my mother could only go to the "black" pool when she was younger, and had to be taught in separate schools.

Let's get real people. No, that's not how American is today (in most parts) but that doesn't mean that the sting has been taken away.

Do I think Obama is a saviour...NO...there is only one Saviour in my book. But do I think Obama will do what he can to help this country...OF COURSE. Yes he wants to raise taxes, but only for those who can afford it, and for those who should have had their taxes raised in the first place. Will he end the war, YES! This is a war that we never should have been in... and for a mother to be happy and proud that her son is going to war is a disgrace. Both of my brothers have been sent to war zones, and I prayed everday for their swift, and safe return...I certainly wasn't happy that they went!

But oh well...Palin showed her true self when she likened herself to a "pit bull". Not only with lipstick, but a pit will eat their young, and she's shown that she could give a crap about her kids. If she did, would she be happy her son enlisted and is going to Iraq, or would she have chosen to place her daughter in the spotlight when she's going through a difficult enough time, or would she be using her baby to gain sympathy because of his disability?
Her actions show that she will stop at nothing. So I have one piece of advise for McCain...if you win the election WATCH YOUR BACK! She will stop at nothing to benefit her personal agenda, and I'm moving to Canada!

  20. the real Abby

That’s because Obama’s speech was uplifting, positive and HITORIC . exceeding great expectations. Hers was just another negative GOP poison. We here 3 of those a night…the only reason it was notable is because she didn’t vomit in the middle as all were expecting her to. Exceeding very low expectations.

If this were not so frightening it would be funny! It must be a bad dream...Please someone pinch me and wake me up! A vice presidential candidate listing "moose hunter" and "hockey mom" as credentials! Oh...I forgot "mayor" of a town population 7,000. Not to mention parading her 17 year old pregnant daughter and 18 year old future son in law around like trophies.

  25. Skyview

Other than the fact that she can snawl with a self-rightous, fake grin, Sarah Palin has failed to elucidate on the things or accomplishments that qualify her to be VP....Compared to Obama, a law professor, state legislator and senator, her experience on big issues is absent....So is John McCain's experience on any big issues, so far as his leadership....McCain has a record of 'complaining' when it fits his purpose or ambition, but he has not lead and accomplished positive ends on any such issue....Unless there are some such accomplishments of which we have not been made aware of, and such an omission by the McCain peopl is highly unlikely. Beyound his ancedotes, there is not a whole lot of 'there' to McCain by way of accomplishment..
