OMG - What a great speech last night by Sarah! I loved it and hope she can do what she says. We'll see when she is our next Vice President. So much better to have a conservative in the white house than a liberal that wants to dis on the U.S.

Go Get Em Sarah!

The contrast in the tone between these two conventions is profound. Last week was inspiring and unifying with a lot of discussion on how to move this country forward. What I have heard tonight from the GOP was a lot of anger and blame, not to mention stretching the truth. Americans are growing tired of the devisiveness, and want real solutions and progress.

I just cannot wrap my brain around the fact that this person is such a big hit with the Republicans. She made no statement of really what she stood for. What her accomplishments were or what goals she has for VP. Heck in July she was not even sure what a VP did!!
How can this person possibly lead our country, if God forbid John McCain won the Presidency and died. She won't give interviews to the press because they are "mean" to her....oh come on, she will not give interviews to the press beacuse someone may ask what her qualifications to run the country is.....
She mention the Opponent lack of experience but Obama/Biden have so much more than she does.
I will listen to John McCain tonight but I think my mind is going to be made up to vote for Obama....I do not want Sarah Palin anywhere near the Oval Office. I always try to hear everyone our but geez...this women is horrible.

Even if you do not own a firearm always be scared of a government that wants to take guns away from law abiding citizens. This is a tactic used by Hitler, Stalin, and Castro. A governemt that tries to disarm its citizens obviously is afraid of them rising up against the government. barack hussein obama has worked very hard to take guns away from law abiding citizens. What do you call a citizen without a firearm? Victim.

I think democrats are much more divisive today than gops - just read this entire forum!
I really liked Palin, and as a mother of three kids will vote for her.

Got those 3 kids ready to sign up for the draft?

The Republicans have themselves a pit bull … with lipstick. But, there is NOTHING outstanding about someone who appears comfortable in front of a teleprompter and can mouth the words of a speech that has been written for her. She performed no better than most of America’s hard-working PTA Presidents and working mothers do every day. The “very attractive” Sarah Palin is being used by the Republican Party as a marketing device and attack dog … and, frankly, McCain needs the help. She was chosen by the GOP because she is that token working woman – a pro-life mother of five children including a 4-month-old son with special needs and a pregnant 17-year-old daughter. AND, if that’s not enough, she’s a member of the NRA. Who better than Sarah Palin to serve as the poster girl for the right wing conservative base and help McCain get elected? It was a desperate and risky eleventh-hour move by his campaign, and for now, McCain is basking in her light. I doubt it will last. The condescending, sarcastic tone of her speech was ungracious and unbecoming of a newcomer to the scene – man or woman – and, more importantly, she offered up nothing of substance. I’m anxious to see how well she does in a debate about the real issues when there is no script to follow. I am a 50-year-old mother of three and, aside from the fact that we share the same anatomy, Sarah Palin and I have nothing in common. I do not relate to her. In fact, I’m as offended by the McCain campaign’s attempt to pander to women as I am by Palin’s willingness to oblige.

I have heard the term "right-wing hate machine" before but now that I have been reading the responses to the GOP convention, its more like the "left-wing hate machine".

I am an independent minded person and I wish we all could look down the middle of the road, we all know that is where you get the best view of what going on...

When I looked at all those white haired old coots on the convention floor, realized that the reason Obama has not run away with this thing is simply because we are a country of closet (and not so closet) racists, who would do anything to make sure a black man is not President...at least have the courage to admit your bias instead of hiding behind other lame excuses.

Some of you women should be ashamed only voting for her because she wears a skirt. She is and you all know it unqualified for this position and just to get a female in the White house you would scrafice you family and other Americans to try and prove she can do the job.

There is no OJT for this position when thousands of our children are dying in an unjust war and people here in America are losing their homes and can barely afford to eat.

Think for yourself and stop being lead.

You complain about your boss not doing his job. You notice he's only working to fatten his pockets with big oil payoffs. He fights all the time with the smaller companies instead of the bigger company that has hurt him the most . Your have not received a raise and you may lose your job because the boss is now outsourcing the jobs. You are about to lose your house and boss has so many houses he can't count them. The company you work for has not turned a profit and has low approval ratings. The boss distributes a company wide memo that reads " I really don't know much about the economy." You have put up with his bullying ways for eight long years. Finally your work contract is ending with your boss. Should I continue working for this creep or should I CHANGE employers?

It's that simple America. It's time for a change and YOU know it.

Please don't kill the moose.

We havent even begun to hear either party's message so how can we be certain that the choice is right?

Lets be objective here; not racist, not biased, and let the debates show where these 2 great men stand on the issues that matter to US as individuals and as a nation before we blindly cast our votes.

I can see the RNC convention was on a budget. Majority of everyone had handmade signs for when speakers came up and spoke. During the Democratic convention, each speaker had their own made sign done professionally. What's up with that? Sounds like they are falling on hard times.

Glabal Warming is a myth: Not in Alaska

Weird thing about all of this, is I have friends in Alaska and they are seeing the impact of global warming which this idiot Governor of the three cities of Alaska says is a myth. What have we come to when are so called leaders are choosing dumb redneck republicans from the middle of Alaska to represent us on a world stage. Silly for you people to choose the same and expect different. Shows your judgment is skewed.

I'm a elitist who is voting for Obama. If by elitist you mean a 22 year old, working, college student who has no dental insurance and can not yet afford to attend a 4 year university till next fall because she is putting herself through school and needs to save more money... then yep, I'm one of those "cosmopolitan" types. The democratic party is the PEOPLES PARTY! I dont make a half a million dollars a year and I have yet to get anything from the "trickle down" effect that the republicans love so much!

Power to the people!
Viva OBAMA!

The American Presidency is one recognized worldwide, the American President is also termed sometimes as the "leader of the free world", it is a respected position. The President, with the exception of the current one, is often intelligent, well groomed and well spoken. It is a position that demands and commands attention and admiration - I'm sorry the role of "hockey mom", no disrespect intended, really isn't the right demeanor for that office be it the first or second spot.

"Prosperity" is not a word Republicans should use. My taxes went down slightly under Bush, but my money is worth around 35% less because of their out-of-control spending and lack of fiscal discipline. Anyone who believes that saving $2,000 on taxes while your income is reduced drastically through dollar devaluation is crazy.

The cynics have obviously spoken. Good thing you guys are making no sense at all. It seems that most of the responders have not studied their history and are so completley partisan they are willing to believe shallow facts without understanding why the money was cut in the alaskan programs. Sometimes programs do not work. Throwing money at problems does not always work.

Get a clue folks, WAKE UP, most of you can't even follow the leader you have nominated! And calling a woman hot is a complement and is in no way sexist.. When did calling a woman hot ever opress her?

Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."

"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."

This way they don't have to take responsibility and can blame God.

Got to love it! This is your pick?

This is how republicans give speaches: rarely do the facts support their positions or even the off the wall remarks. Her votes, Senior Huchabuck, were 909; Biden recieved 79,754

But there was nothing in her speech and she never told anything truthful about herself just a bunch of info that was totally false - even as the news about her is coming out in buckets. Her response to that was attacking the press..what a joke.

Explain why Levi Johnston shouldn't be arrested as a pedophile.

How can she protect the country if she can't protect her own kids from pedophiles?

This is his second child; the first was with a 13 year old girl. Even by Alaskan standards (which are very loose) that is a bit young.

Sick.... really sick... yea, we want her in the White House. Her and her husband are good evangelicals, and typical of the breed. But lets move on to other issues.

Her husband and daughter: is child #5 really Sarah's? I don' believe so after looking at family photos on the internet. The eldest daughter is the mother for sure, but is the father of that child Sarah's husband? Let's do a little DNA test.

Will she support states that wish to secede from the United States, since her and her husband were both in a party pushing to have Alaska secede from the Union?

Will she legalize pot since she smokes it herself?

Will she change her position and start supporting unwed mothers, particularly teens so they can finish an education through college?

Last night, this woman was pathetic. Nothing to say that was grounded in reality and less to say about solving our problems except continue the same old republican bull that has existed since Reagan and have proven a failure to all but the rich.

What a joke on McCain by his own party.

Did anyone else see the homemade AMEIRCA for Palin sign that was showed for a split second on CBS? That's got to tell us something. BTW is she all claws and teeth? She's trying to drag Biden down into a cat fight where the woman always wins. A man NEVER wins a cat fight with a woman. Biden and Obama should just step back and let her howl. If she can't drag them into a cat fight she will become very frustrated and cry--boo hoo. You watch-that will come. But did you see those claws and teeth last night? Wow!

And I LOVE men who love them!

Wonder how long it will take O-blah-blah to call her "Annie Oakley," as he did Hillary Clinton!

It was very obvious last night that Palin knew what role was expected of her and she delivered the attack, bull-dog style however, it only goes to show what her campaign is about - no substance just attacks - and I'm sure McCain will come out tonight pulling his POW sympathy card like he always does - People, he is not the only POW survivor - this campaign has used issues they feel the American people as well as the media is too fearful to touch - McCain's POW experience, Palin's pregnant daughter, disabled child and the fact that Palin is a woman - well, what about the issues? we can surely address those and the Republicans do not have any substance on the issues.

If conditions weren't so bad for the American people, the pretense of these maneuvers would be humorous. It says a lot when you try to trick people into voting for you by pretending you are something you're not. It shows a lack of conviction for their platform and a lack of respect for the intelligence of voters.

Why is everyone comparing Palin's experience to Obama's? I thought Palin is running for VP, where Obama is running for President. By the way everyone is talking they are making it seem that Plain is at the top of the ticket. Which one do you think needs to have more experience?

I was filled with hope and expectations of a better world in last week's convention which I Ilstened to the last day but switched off the tv with disgust with yesterday's hate-filled attacks! Boy! Can decision making be ever easier? Are these people arranging for another 9/11? How could Mccain make another wrong decision here (in this lady) again like he did and lost some planes before another wrong decision got him shot down and made him a hero? I am not seeing a land slide victory for the democrats but an avalanche!

Palin should be ashamed of herself. She talks about Obama talking about hunters to people in San Fransico. And she degrades community organizers right there on national television. If it wasn't for the media setting the bar so low. They wouldn't have been in all of her speech last night. Instead they would have dissected every word like they did Obama.

She calls herself a pit bull. Pit bulls are actually nice animals when they are not trained to be attack dogs. Over the last decade or so, many Americans have been bitten and even killed by vicous pit bulls. So, I wouldn't want to compare myself to them. Not all are bad, but it depends on the owner, right?

And...let's not forget that pit bulls can turn on their owner. Hmmm ...watch out John McCain. If Palin claims to be such a reformer that goes against the ole boy network. Shouldn't she have gone after her own party. No quams with your own party Palin?!?!

I feel sorry for Palin because she is really a pair of empty panty hose. They wrote her a speech and told her to go out and deliver it. Which she did ok. She is an educated women. Why would we expect anything less. Besides she is a governor. She should be able to speak.

I really wonder if she really feels that way about all the things she was saying about Obama, democrats and community organizers??? If I'm not mistaken, she praised Obama's energy plan. Now she is saying that he doesn't have one.

Wow!! The good ole boy network in effect. She doesn't even have a bark anymore. Ah...I mean voice. See what greed will get you.
