Funny.

He's also been called worse by people who say they will vote for Obama but will pull a different lever in the booth on November 4.

Trust me on that.

Hey, I'm not even an American and I'm busting a gut wishing I could vote for Obama! He is exactly what America (and in fact the world) needs. A fresh direction, a great attitude and a whole raft of positive forward-thinking policies. Come on, Americans...do the right thing.

Excuse me, but maybe I missed the city or state McCain was Mayor or Govenor in since these have become the bar for becoming President or VP. Palin was Mayor of a city with maybe 50 employees. I was a manager of the Post Office with 150 employees maybe I should run for President.
I agree McCain picked the right person as his running mate, because they both know how to cheat on their spouses.

Each time Obama comments I have more respect for him. His answer is such a clear difference from the sarcasm I saw last night. We are facing too many difficulties in our nation and world for low jokes and one-liners.

Proud supporter of Obama/Biden 08!

I have been to Alaska twice in my life, very beautiful state, during the time I spent there, I learned that less than 700,000 people live there seven months out of the year, and about half of those leave every year for five months, starting on September 15th, I also learned that there is a saying there. "ALASKA" where men are animals and women are men, with that being said, I say to Senators Obama and Biden, take the gloves off, cause Palin is no more than a wolf in sheeps clothing.

"But Obama isn’t treating Palin the same way he is McCain — he’s not going after her with nearly the same ferocity. "

This is the stupidest example I have ever seen...

HE'S RUNNING AGAINST MCCAIN! NOT PALIN!!

The GOP has no faith in their candidate, so it's trying to center this election around Palin, and you twits are going for it. This is not about Palin, this is about the issues and the presidential candidates. What we are seeing here are the same 'divide and conquer,' culture based identity politics we saw back in '04. For God sakes, America, don't fall for it.

I am puzzled and disappointed that everyone, including the media) seems to think Palin gave a great speech. What I saw was a sarcastic and arragant person. She is a self -proclaimed "pitbull with lipstick". There will be no bi-partisanship on crutial issues with this attitude if they are in office.

Well said, Senator Obama. In the same statement he also said that he was running against Senator McCan't and not Governor Palin and so did not have to respond to her obvious attempts to bait him. It's refreshing to see a Christian act like a Christian and not just pimping their religion like the Republican's have done. I guess "community organizing" isn't a big deal to Palin because it involves "those people", you know, the one's that are conspicuously missing from the Republican Convention.

Last night Palin and Rudy demonstrated that people (just like sharks) can go into a feeding frenzy. I saw nothing but the same thing I have seen from the Bush administration. Lies, deceit, and hate mongering. Last night was about nothing but hate. I kept expecting to see saliva start slinging from the mouths of both speakers as they acted more like pit bulls than humans.

Time for Palin to face the media without a team of advisors and speech witers there to protect her, and I don't mean a scripted interview in George W's living room.

So much for supporting a so-called "moderate Republican" (one year ago was considering voting for McCain).

In the last week I have realized that the McCain/Palin ticket are very far right, and do not represent the majority of voters.

Americans are tired of the nasty PR tactics of Bush/Cheney administration. Unfortunatly for John McCain he is no longer able to run on his character because he sold out to the advisors who are turning things ugly.

While I do think Obama is overly populist, at least his campaign is transparent–he is running based on issues that are important to the majority of Americans and he isn't caught up in dirty tricks, and media manipulation.

I'm quite sure Obama's been called worse on the basketball court and for good reason. Did he try to buy those games as he's trying to buy the presidency? (Although Oprah is helping a lot with his attempted political purchase.) Every time we hear something good about/from the Republicans, Obama's people talk about how much money they're raising. Is money all Democrats consider important? Apparently so. Well, if that's true, they picked the right "community organizer." He appears to have his hands in all kinds of pockets all the time.

Community organizers unite!

Last night, Sarah Palin promised families of special needs children that she would be their advocate.

During her first 20 months as Alaska's governor, Palin has CUT the budget for special needs children by 62%!!!

With advocates like that, who needs enemies?

you get the best take on Palin from Comedy Central. CNN should follow John Stewarts lead. He showed the video of Karl Rove before the Joe Biden was named, belittling a possible democratic VP candidate who had only been mayor of a small city (200,000 people), governor of a small state (only 3,000,000 people) and few years of political experience.
Then showed Rove explaining how "wonderful" Palin was for being mayor of a small city (9,000 people) and a large state (600,000 people) and 2 years as governor.
Our country was fooled 8 years ago with little bush, now we are being caned by more little republicans. Lets not be stupid again.
Save the country. Put Obama/Biden in charge.

Not only did the Democrats unite under Barack Obama, but as a former Hillary supporter I heard specifics from Obama on how he will address the key issues facing the next President.

What are the Republicans doing? Certainly not addressing how they plan to fix the mess they have created over the past eight years. With his first 'Presidential' decision, that is, choosing his vice presidential candidate, he has shown how reckless a maverick can be as the leader of the free world. This person cannot even manage her own family much less deal with the realities of the position. Who is going to care for her Down Syndrome baby, in itself a full time job for life. I don't want another Presidential team that thumbs their nose at anyone who does not agree with their agenda.

Choosing to be a community organizer rather than to be yet another greedy money grubber right out of college is an ADMIRABLE and HONORABLE quality worthy of praise and respect. Barack put the people of southside Chicago before his own interests. The people that spoke at the convention last night can't comprehend this because they themselves have never done it, so they poke fun.

Well, guess what Rudy, Mittens and Alaska Barbie?

Commuity organizing is what will elect Barack Obama the next president of ther United States!!!!!!!!!

$10 MILLION BEFORE MCSAME SPEAKS TONIGHT!!!!! YES WE CAN!!!!!!

Disgusting hate-mongering speeches by the RNC all the way around. No solutions, no mention of the issues that matter to the American people.

I have donated to Obama/Biden's campaign and will keep donating. We are taking our country back from these lunatics. God forbid McCain/Palin ever get less than a million miles from 1600 Pennsyvania Avenue. And you thought GW/DC were the worst in the history of this Nation.

I liked Sarah Palin's speech, because it shows the true nature of raw partisanship in all its awful glory. All she needs now is someone of William Safire's caliber to be her speechwriter. Remember Spiro Agnew? He had that great phrase, "nattering nabobs of negativism". Boy, those were the days! Then again, maybe Palin doesn't need any speech writer. She can give it direct from the spleen.

The state of the economy will determine the outcome of this election, not the craft of the speeches. Right now, things that should be going down are going up, and things that should be going up, are going down. It's all catty-wompus. And with a whiff of the ol' C___ W__ out there courtesy of Putin's excellent adventure in Georgia, it's only a matter of time before a change of the helm is made. And I say the sooner the better.

So far, Obama and Biden are keeping their cool. And that's the way to do it, because name calling, while it may stroke some people's egos, is not going to do it.

If you let the good folks of the McCain/Palin ticket tell it, the only qualified community organizers in this country are ones with an annual income of at least $5 million and with a minimum of three homes. Obama's response was wonderful, and shows genuine coolness in the midst of a RNC smear campaign.

The American presidency has become a sideshow. the part that curious to me is that John McCain and Cindy McCain are not the same type of folks. Oh that is why he got her, so that he does not go out there and humiliate himself.

As for Rudy Juliani, a man who tells his wife that he is divorcing her while on tv, enough said.

I wonder why CNN isn't posting the new poll numbers? Could it be because Obama has lost 8 points in the last 8 days and McCain and Obama are now eve?

To respond to to the posters that responded to me directly:
1) voter - my comment was very specific - voters have more than a right to look at Palin's experience they have a DUTY! Immediately after the announcement the Obama camp, ignoring that Palin is a governor, ridiculed her as being an ex-mayor of 5,00 people and the media has jumped all over the talking point, now when Palin points out that she was a mayor when Obama was still a community activist (yes she has been in elected office longer than Obama, look it up) CNN uses the word "belittle" Call it sexist, call it liberal bias, call it whatever you want it sure isn't neutral reporting
2) Cindy McCain is not a candidate - Obama has said families are off limits and I respect that and will not comment. I don't believe Obama's drug use precludes him from being president - but he was not a confused child - he was in his early 20s and getting that wonder Columbia degree we now hear so much about. Furthermore - I was using it as an example of how ridiculous the MEDIA has been. If CNN or FoxNews started an article with former drug-user we would all be screaming foul. But saying former beauty queen is okay?

Harry Reid calling Sarah Palin's comments shrill? What left wing loons he and Nancy Pelosi both are. Obviously he didn't listen to Joe Biden's attacks on John McCain or George Bush during his speech last week in Denver - guess he fell asleep.

And the morons who mention Palin's comments about community organizers as attacks? What idiots - do they actually understand the basis for those comments - Palin being characterized by the left as inexperienced and not ready for office vs. the clown Obama who has NO executive or business experience of any type except as a community organizer?

Obama is by no means ready to answer the 3 AM call - unless it's the pizza delivery man at the front door of the White House...

Sarah Palin just proved yesterday that she is quite comfortable lying to the American people about her record. Sarah Palin lied with a straight face, even knowing that most people are well aware of the truth that she actually supported the building of the "Bridge to Nowhere", and about her record of hiring lobbyists to lobby Washington for money. Isn;t she supposed to be against earmarks I guess that's just a bunch of talk.
Sarah Palin claims she is against earmarks, BUT THE TRUTH IS, in the short tme she was governor (20 months), she requested earmarks totalling $750 million dollars from the federal government (the largest amount per-capita request in the nation).

Sadly of all is that Sarah Palin claims that families with children with disabilities will have her as a champion in the White House, BUT the fact is in Alaska those same parents had NO champion in Sarah, who actually CUT by 60% funding to programs which helped children with disabilities in her state.
Sarah Palin also CUT funding to programs which help HOMELESS pregnant teens, have a place to sleep while pregnant.
Hypocrically, of all is that Sarah Palin boldly sites an ethics bill in Alaska, it seems she has forgotten that she herself is RIGHT NOW under investigation for ethics violation. Sarah Palin is ALREADY participating in the same type of behaviour that we have seen in the White House over the past 8 years, the coverups, and lies to try keep that behaviour, of ethics violation, from the public. We really would be getting another Bush, and Cheney in the White House!!

I'm a McCain supporter but I thought trying to poke fun of Obama has a community organizer was over the top. Sure his record doesn't stack up to McCain's but that's undermining McCain's call for service if you make fun of someone for helping out in their own way.

I admit that I have voted Republican for the last 4 elections. But, how can a campaign that promises to reach across party lines be so hostile to the party they are promising to reach across to? The fact that American's are supporting this negativity is upsetting. I cannot - Obama - Biden '08!

It was unbelievable to me that men were wearing "Hottie VP" buttons last night at the RNC. How sexist is that? Typical hypocritism from the Republican party.

The only think I observed was Palin dismissing all the hard work community organizers do and critisizing Obama and the democrates. I did not hear anything about what the Republicans hope to change or do differently. She is still using her children to promote herself which I think is shameful. If my daughter were 17 years old and pregnant I sure would not be promoting her as a trophy with her boyfriend. She appearently forgot to tell her daughter not to have sex before marriage and isn't she a little young to get married?
