McCain and Palin are stumping on a ‘maverick’ message.
McCain and Palin are stumping on a ‘maverick’ message.

STERLING HEIGHTS, Michigan (CNN) - At a large rally in Michigan on Friday, his first day campaigning after accepting the Republican presidential nomination, John McCain promised to upend the Washington status quo, arguing that the Democratic ticket doesn't have the chops to do so.

"That's why this ticket is the ticket to shake up Washington, because Sen. Obama doesn't have the strength to do it," McCain said. "He has never bucked his party on any issue. Never. If you want real reform, if you want real change, send the one's who've actually done it. Send the team of mavericks who aren't afraid to go to Washington and break some china."

Introducing McCain, running mate Sarah Palin boasted, "There is only one man in this election who has every really fought for you, and that man is John McCain."

Palin offered another call to turn Washington upside down.

"I came to office promising major ethics reform to end the culture of self-dealing, and today that ethics reform is the law and that's what we're going to bring to Washington," she said.

Palin again told the tale of how she put her predecessor's luxury jet up for sale on eBay. Although she did initially offer the plane up for auction on the web, there were no takers, and it was ultimately sold off through a private broker.

At the beginning of her remarks, the Alaska governor played to her "hockey mom" persona by holding up a Detroit Red Wings jersey in front of the boisterous crowd. She also thanked Michiganders for hosting her son Track when he was a senior in high school - Palin said he spent part of that year playing hockey just outside of Kalamazoo.

I find it interesting that John McCain thinks that we should believe him that he can shake up washington when the republicans have been in power the last 8 years at the presidential level and 12 of the 14 at the senate/congressional level....I believe he's been in office 26 yrs...not a good track record for him. In addition to that...he has voted with Bush 90% of the time...in his own words....
There is nothing he can do....it's time to move on and get the republicans out of control for a while.

Biggest Lie of this Political year is, Obama the First Black Man to be Nominated President, hes not a Black Man hes Bi racial that said he would not play the Race card, Hum want to Buy a Beach home in Arizona?

Belle1   September 5th, 2008 11:58 pm ET

Actually, I think McCain is correct.

Obama rose to his power by NOT making any waves...working with a corrupt political machine in Chicago...he claims he stayed above the fray...then in the Senate, he voted right along party lines 97% of the time.

Did he buck the Party once in the Senate? NOPE.

I would rather take the risk on two that have bucked their own Party, than one that has appeased it, didn't make waves, and got in good with the Good Old Leaders.

Barack Obama IS Our 44th president   September 5th, 2008 11:58 pm ET

McCain has been part of the "status quo" in Washington for 26 years and it seems like Palin is coming on board easily. How can any intelligent person believe that now since he is running for president he has the right judgment to break from his record of voting for Bush's failed polices 95% of the time. He doesn't have any new ideas nor does he have a vision to solve America's challenges and make the lives of it's people better.

It's time for the American people to get it right and NOT vote for McCain, instead vote for change. It's time for this country to turn the page and seek a new and better future for ourselves and our children. It's time for REAL change in Washington, it's time to elect Barack Obama for president !

Obama-Biden team is wiser and stronger to meet and solve the many problems facing America and abroad and to get us out of the hole the McCain-Bush administration has put and kept us in for 8 years.

Chris from Oklahoma   September 5th, 2008 11:02 pm ET

Bottom Line=she's been exposed thoroughly.

As an independent, it is now striking to me how unreliable Pailin and Republicans are and how much more trustworthy Dems are.

Oh, and by the way, McCain–if you can't get it right between "Walter Reed Middle School" and "Walter Reed Hospital" right for your backrdrop what else are you going to screw up (besides your pick for VP)?

FreeNLovIt   September 5th, 2008 11:01 pm ET

Hillary is older and wiser than Palin. Palin is a fine woman, but she's too fast in her decision-making. This is not good for the country.

We rushed to war. Let's not rush to make decisions. Let's not rush to Palin. Biden has a record and Obama will be fine. Obama also has the backings of moderate Republicans, like Wesley Clark.

I have full faith that Obama will be a lot more stable than Palin. After this reading this column, Obama has my blessings.

I am actually very conservative like Palin, except I belive in abortion for certain cases.

Mc Plane   September 5th, 2008 11:00 pm ET

She was elected Alaska 's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a very very small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.

Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.she supported an Alaskan Constitutional ammendment to ban abortions.
She is not only pro-life but is involved with — and even steered tax money toward — organizations that give misleading information on abortion.

She supported right-wing extremist & Nazi sympathizer, Pat Buchanan for
president in 2000.

Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.
At one point, Palin supported mandatory education for teenagers about contraception, something that political insiders in both parties will find ironic in the wake of her 17-year-old daughter Bristol’s pregnancy and upcoming 'shotgun' marriage.

She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.

She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.
How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.

Darrell   September 5th, 2008 11:00 pm ET

Fact Check Bush writer wrote Palins speech for thr RNC (Red Neck Convention) Republican Convention.Yeah thats change !!!!! The only change McCain brings isthat he has changed his campaign strategy from experience to Change which has always been Obamas slogan then McCain changed his campaign strategy to slash ,slander, lies, fear mongering so yeah he changes but offers no change.Once again George W Bush's speech writer wrote Palins speech for their convention and McCain is talking change.Too much !!
Too much the same.Don't take a 10% chance on McCain

eric   September 5th, 2008 11:00 pm ET

The accusations about Palin are false. People are so desperate. She wasn't part of any extreme party to succeed . Sarah Palin supports sex ed just not explicit sex ed.

Keith   September 5th, 2008 10:59 pm ET

After eight years of misleading, mistreatment and mismanagement by the Republicans I CAN'T WAIT for John and Sarah to step in and give us four years of Republican misleading, mistreatment and mismanagement. It'll be a real change being led by a tough warrior and lovely sidekick (Sarah and John, and in that order...)

Mc Plane   September 5th, 2008 10:59 pm ET

Sarah Palin's husband, Todd, twice registered as a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a fierce states' rights group that wants to turn all federal lands in Alaska back to the state. Gail Fenumiai, director of the Alaska Division of Elections, said Todd Palin twice registered under the Alaskan Independence Party — in 1995 and 2000. Some members of the party have advocated secession from the United States, Lynette Clark, the chairman of the AIP, who told ABC News that Palin and her husband, Todd, belonged to the radical party in 1994.
The BIG LIE about Palin selling the Govenors Jet for a Profit on Ebay is A BIG LIE. I was sold at a $600,000.loss to a Republican Campaing contributor in a private sale not on Ebay.

Sherry   September 5th, 2008 10:59 pm ET

Hey, now wait a minute. Let's get something striaght here. Didn't anyone tell you the truth? Everyone voted with the president 90% of the time, not juct McCain. Don't you guys check anything out for yourselves? Man, how gullable can one get? This is politics people, spin, spin, spin. Stop acting like kids and verify, verify, verify!

Republican's told the truth on a hot mic that Palin was a gimmick.

Imagine, they are hiding her from the press because they are worried about making a mistake!!!

If that's true then imagine if she is just one heart beat from the president? Crazy gimmick!!!

Sarah Palin = Phyllis Schlafley   September 5th, 2008 10:59 pm ET

Where is all the discussion about the fact that the United States is now official acknowledged as being second behind China in economic matters......almost to be third behind even INDIA?

Where is talk about ending the wars that have our fiscal hands tied behind our backs?

What in heck is going on in America during this election?

It is all about moose, eBay selling (or not) airplanes, family marital battles, MAVERICKS?

Wasn't Hitler a maverick?

Why do we NEED mavericks in Washington? Running our lives?

OUR LIVES!

hicktick   September 5th, 2008 10:58 pm ET

McCain has done it, he is allready too old and bitter to be pres. If he got in it would just be a matter of time before some country feels his wrath ,for being a POW. HE will go after someone just like little Bush went after saddam, for threats against , his daddy.Fight and war is all you hear from a man that looks like a corpse to me . VP Palin , went to five colleges in six years, has a degree in jounrnalism, could take over if needed , what a joke, ITS THE ECONOMY STUPID, I will vote demo. for first time in my life.

Anna SW Missouri   September 5th, 2008 10:57 pm ET

I am much more concerned about the fact that Palin cut the budget for programs for special needs children in Alaska by 60% than worrying about the china!

The press needs to investigate this since she is pledging to be an "Advocate" for special needs children. She and McCain talk about cutting spending, but this is not the area to do it. We need answers from Sarah Palin about this.

If we are going to elect her as a Vice President we have the right to ask questions about her record. That is why we have the right to a free press as it states in the constitution.

Laughing   September 5th, 2008 10:56 pm ET

When I read that Sarah never did sell the jet on ebay...it disappointed me very much that she would stand on the podium and tell us she had. What a LIAR!!!!!

If she were in court, the Judge would say any story she spoke would not be trusted!

Yes, Sarah is an excellent speeker and I really enjoyed listening to her
speach. She does have charism with style but I no longer believer what she says.

May you Repugs right, Obama could be full of it. But what I find funny is that, he was the one that initially spoke to the people about working across the, changing the way politics work from the beginning of this election. When other candidates realized what a powerful message he was speaking, all of a sudden, the others start singing his tune. Now McBush and Palin are talking about change, excuse me, they using reform now. Everytime Obama says something like we need to set a time table, we need to set diplomacy first with our enemies, the Repugs mimick. I don't know about you guys, but sounds like the one who is experienced, is the one the others keep following. I'll take my chances and stick to Obama!

Don't let gun toting soccer Mom pit-bull in lipstick fool you lower 48... you cross her and she'll squish you like a bug. Want more debt than Bush handed you? You got it with her. Want your civil rights thrown out the window? You got with her and her heavies. You'll be the wolf – out getting food for your family and she'll be up there in her helicopter with her shotgun... Think carefully. Do your research. You vote her and the old man in and you'll cry yourself to sleep a night wishing for the good ole' days of Bush and Cheney.

welches, oregon   September 5th, 2008 10:52 pm ET

well, I don't know about all this back and forth. But one thing I do know for certain and you do too. Obama voted against the Iraq war, McCain voted for it and Palin wasn't qualified to vote on it. The Iraq war is directly related to the downturn of our economy – the rising food prices – my god Milk was over $5 in my local grocery store, and no one has to talk about gas prices. Now ask yourself – who had the better judgment on this issue? One hundred million dollars a day goes to Iraq.

Imagine what we can accomplish when that money is in our own country? I

I just listened to Michael Moore on Larry King. If you listened to him answer King's questions, you would never vote for McCain/Palin, regardless of your opinion of Moore. "The Fleecing of America". Regular folks are suffering. These people really don't care about us. Sen Obama is a fresh change. Just like Mr. Moore says, if he is elected President and you don't like what he does, then vote him out in 4 years. Someone else should be the chance. We cannot be happy with the last 8 years unless you are rich.

dee   September 5th, 2008 10:26 pm ET

McCain did not know about the skeletons in Palin's closte, in order to safe face he stands by her side, as long as the the public is gungho with that extremist woman, Republicans will support her. Once some more bad news come up, they will drop her like a hot potatoe and they will come up with a story why she had to give up her spot as VP. The mostlikely reason will be something related to family, since she is projecting to be so family oriented.

Sarah's a celebrity, But is she ready to lead?   September 5th, 2008 10:24 pm ET

Now the republicans have someone that gave one good speech that was written for her and she is READY TO LEAD? Yet Barack writes most of his own speeches and is better than anybody at speeches and he is ridiculed and called an empty celebrity. Gotta love GOP hypocrisy!

OBSERVATIONS FROM CANADA

I think people are confused!!!

In his speech he made 56 statements against the current Republican government hence we are not sure what party McCain stands for??? His reference to “change” and “fight” and “maverick” translate into a question mark for many Republicans who see their party disintegrating. In short he is talking about changing the people in power which are Republicans. This is very schizophrenic.

I think his speech actually helped the Democrats make the point that the current Republican government has failed. Bizarre!!!!

RyanT   September 5th, 2008 10:12 pm ET

I hope that Sarah Palin has some knowledge of how this government works, we do have three equal parts and even if she ever becomes president (heaven forbid ) there is still a congress and a supreme court to contend with, she should be careful what she says. As vice president her only duty will be the tie vote in the senate, hardly likely as they will be controlled by the democrats. Of course there are always those funerals to attend.

I find it disturbing that CNN doesn't even attempt to moderate these comments pages with any veracity. There is so much misinformation being propagated, coming from both sides, and it would be refreshing, nay, responsible for an outfit like CNN to actually attempt to clarify on occasion.

Example from a comment on a Ticker post earlier this evening: In response to criticism about Palin not writing her own speeches, someone named Sara said that Obama doesn't either, so the argument is finished. The fact is, Obama DOES write his own speeches. And in the interest of keeping it balanced, so does Chuck Hagel. There are also numerous examples of mistruths right here in this very section from those who support Obama.

How difficult would it be for CNN to either 1) delete posts with blatant lies, or 2) clarify a comment that has blatant lies? CNN is part of the problem, and its failure to even attempt to remedy only sullies what little credibility it still has.

Oh, I forgot... appealing to the lowest common denominator is the best way to keep those page hits coming.

“The republican party is the only party that can fix the damage that its party done” “The republican party is the only party that can fix the damage that its party caused”… that’s the best quote I’ve heard. every ones real opinion will not be talked about pertaining to Palin I can blog all day long and try to have a voice like yesterday...90% of the blogs on CNN said they did not like anything that was said at GOP including Palins speech but I guess the media owes her one?

How come this isn’t news? How come the news didn’t report what people really thought of all the speeches? No Hillary = No Obama   September 5th, 2008 9:31 pm ET

I can't believe it myself. I have never voted Republican my whole life – true Blue Dem. But I have decided to vote for McCain-Palin – yep, I'm one of those "disaffected" Hillary supporters. Obama had the chance and he turned his back on Hillary and now I'm turning my back on him. Obama "sells" change – McCain DID change. I still can't understand why Obama was so selfish in his choice. I think McCain actually is a mavrick and people will be surprised – how can you say he's not progressive – look what he just did for all women – and Palin probably will find herself moving from the far right to more centered. Sorry, Hillary – but Obama betrayed 18 million of us.

for obama nj   September 5th, 2008 9:31 pm ET

palin is doing a lot of lying, scared to go in front of media, keeps reading same old speech over and over again, she is getting stale, too much drama with her, (there is something funky in denmark here), everything that glitter is not gold....just wait

caleb   September 5th, 2008 9:31 pm ET

where are the negative stories about Hussein Obama Bin Biden?

all i can find on here are links to his website...

eric   September 5th, 2008 9:30 pm ET

i feel sick every time i hear them use the term maverick. dudes not a mav. dude committed treason

Kay   September 5th, 2008 9:30 pm ET

Cambell Brown, Super Dummies, DNC, Democratic Party...eat their dust! I'm voting against Nobama, no matter what Hillary says. Next election I will support her. In the mean time...John McCain made a genius choice...a gorgeous, extremely intelligent, successful Governor, Mother, and Patriot. Someone who hasn't spent the last 20 yrs trying to embed herself in one ethnic communtiy. She worked for all the people. For the first time in my adult life I'm ashamed to be a Democrat...Hope The Left wing media, and all those mentioned above are happy with their appointed nominee! The GOP got their miracle! Halliluyah the Lord is good! Go McCain/Palin '08!!!! CNN...There is no reason not to post this...except you don't agree.

steve dumford, Scotts valley ca.   September 5th, 2008 9:29 pm ET

I see all the Obama piranhabloggers are calling her a liar about this jet. She DID put the jet on Ebay, it didn't meet the reserve so it was sold to a private company. But the nasty, evil vile Obamabloggers just can't contain themselves even when they're blowing hot air about nothing. THE POINT IS THAT SHE GOT RID OF THE JET AS AN UNECESSARY WASTE OF TAXPAYER MONEY!!!!!!What about that don't the Obama lemmings understand. These are the same goofy bloggers who labeled Hillary a liar over and over during the primarys.

Now lets point out a REAL lie.
Obama was "Not in the pews" when The good Rev Wright spewed his hate for America. Trying to say he wasn't aware of Wrights opinions. OUT and OUT LIE
Obama could "No longer disown Rev Wright anymore than he could disown his own white Grandmother" OUT and OUT LIE
Obama then throws Rev Wright under the bus when he rears his ugly head once again.

Grandmothers everywhere....BE AFRAID!

Note to CNN, Your attempts at crucifying Sarah Palin aren't working. Just heard the new polls out. She's got a higher approval rating than your chosen idol Obama. Back to the drawing board.

ohio   September 5th, 2008 9:29 pm ET

President George H.W. Bush said during his 1989 inaugural address: "I have spoken of a thousand points of light, of all the community organizations that are spread like stars throughout the Nation, doing good,,,,,,,,Now its a bad thing!!!
And why the heck do they keep bragging that they fight all that corruption in their own party.... Is your party that corrupt
Away Captian lipsticked bulldog

lula-luli   September 5th, 2008 9:29 pm ET

Why nobody is mentioning abt the illicit relationship of sarah palin with her husbands friend? British tabloid mentioned that story.

Colo Sprgs, CO   September 5th, 2008 9:29 pm ET

Break some china, or Break China? Hidden clue there. We are deep up to our eyeballs in debt with China, and continue to rely on imports and manufacturing from China. What is McCain going to do about it?...NOTHING. He doesn't care. Sounds pretty bad for America if we're going to continue to be China's deadbeat lease.

Cecil   September 5th, 2008 9:28 pm ET

So What You Tried To Sell A Plane On Ebay, Big Deal!

aliou FL   September 5th, 2008 9:28 pm ET

McCain's going to break only himself. He is the problem, and I don't owe him anything because he downed american planes and sang like a bird in hanoi to get free communist health care service.

Jen   September 5th, 2008 9:28 pm ET

Pledging more violence and distruction and calling the American people to "fight with them".

Seems only the extremist republicans aren't tired of the hate and wars.

They're appealing to the lowest in our society....and counting on our dumbed down public school system to hand over a bunch of true believers.

CFL   September 5th, 2008 9:27 pm ET

Gov Palin won me over, she is real and small town like 51% of the country.

No to Obama

Cecil   September 5th, 2008 9:26 pm ET

"Sound Bite Palin" offered another call to turn Washington upside down.

That's All She Got!

Afraid To Talk About The Issues, Because She Doesn't Know Any!

Palin is no Hillary   September 5th, 2008 9:26 pm ET

You aren't going to "change" anything. You are part of the problem, McCain, voting with Bush 90% of the time. YOU are to blame also for the state this country is in. You can't hide your face befind the new "celebrity" Palin. It's funny how you continue to criticize Barack Obama and Biden, then follow their lead. Palin has no experience and is now a "celebrity" who gives great speeches. Funny how it's OK for your party, huh? News flash: Palin is NOT Hillary and will NOT get her supporters because she is against everything Hillary is fighting for including universal health care. If McCain wins, Hillary will never be able to realize her dream of reforming health care. With Obama/Biden, she will be front and center and will be able to have a huge impact. This Hillary supporter will NOT vote for you just because there is a pale imitation of Hillary on the ticket!
Obama/Biden '08

Stephen   September 5th, 2008 9:26 pm ET

Tell me how McCain - who has voted with Bush 90% of the time can say that he has "bucked" his party! Give me a break McCain - we're not falling for this!

A NATION OF WINERS   September 5th, 2008 9:26 pm ET

OH SURE, HE WANTS TO BREAK THE CHINA

BECAUSE WE PAY FORE THEM. WE PAY FOR

HIS SALARY, HIS MEDICAL INSURANCE & MILLIONS

OF DOLLARS A YEAR IN EXPENSES. AND THE CHINA

BREAKING, IS HE PLANING A WEDDING ?????

Mrs. Texas Teacher   September 5th, 2008 9:26 pm ET

Am I going crazy or didn't Obama buck both his party and the Republicans when he voted against the Iraq War?

Does McCain think we all have short memories? Or maybe he's asking We, the People, who are you going to believe? Me? Or your crazy old eyes and ears?

Well, I plan to believe my crazy old eyes and ears! I hope their are enough of us out there who will believe our own eyes and ears rather than the McCain Camp to make the difference.

Otherwise, the Republicans will be stealing another election somewhere in this country what with pollsters being Big Business and voter machines being built by Big Business with no changes since the last election. Am I being too much of a cynic? Which party supports Big Business? You do the math.

Be scared, We, the People, be very scared! If there are not enough of us out there to make the difference, they just might get away with it again. Then, I'm going to have to start thinking of moving to Canada.

Fred   September 5th, 2008 9:25 pm ET

If they only had a brain......

Coach K   September 5th, 2008 9:18 pm ET

There's two types of change in this election .. Barack Obama is trying to change the country; John McCain is trying to change the way his party views and does things.

So McCain's first year of office would be spent trying to get his own party to change their ways and Obama would spend his first year in office putting the platform into action.

No-brainer ... vote Obama/Biden

Mary   September 5th, 2008 9:14 pm ET

What was wrong with the china for the past 8 years John? You seemed to love eating off of it.

The talk of the office today was mCCain's speech. Everyone I spoke to at work today could not believe he had the gall to talk about change when he has been such a big part of the problem.

Anthony Caudill   September 5th, 2008 9:14 pm ET

What is he talking about? Is he trying to run the rest of the conservatives out of office, or something? The Dems have vetted their people and the corruption factor over there is next to zilch.

RyanT   September 5th, 2008 9:13 pm ET

I am a woman and Sarah Palin scares me. She appears as unstable as her running mate. Every speech of hers that I have seen, she has been nothing but sarcastic. I am fairly sarcastic myself and a few zingers here and there are alright by me but that is all she has to say.
Sarcastic and condescending is not attractive despite how attractive she may be. Would it really kill her to just for once show the other side the same respect they show her. I am not religious but if she and McCain win, I will pray that NOTHING happens to McCain.

S. Boatman   September 5th, 2008 9:13 pm ET

Im Not Falling For It Mccain! He You Get Into The White House The Only Thing You Will Break Are Your Promises To The American People!

OIF VET   September 5th, 2008 9:13 pm ET

McSame if your were a Mavrick then you would have walked in with your Senate buddies back in 2002 and told Bush and his thugs that we need to win the war on terror. Instead you supporter his rush to the wrong war like a school boy on his first date. As for his running mate, I have no idea what her stance was due in large part because she will not take questions. This is about picking the President of the United States over the next 60 days. Maybe we could ask a few questions instead hearing one linerers from McBush speech writers.

Aaron   September 5th, 2008 9:13 pm ET

Any fool can break things.

Darrel from Denver   September 5th, 2008 9:13 pm ET

It's a lie. They are pandering to the public, again.

Palin is an extremist and out of touch with the majority of America.

McCain is an egomaniac and will say whatever he needs to get elected as he is quickly running out of time – literally.

spiderweb   September 5th, 2008 9:13 pm ET

Obama/Biden 2008

The team for the ALL People!

Anna   September 5th, 2008 9:11 pm ET

I have waited my whole life as a liberal waiting for Democrats to challenge and take down GOP corruption.

it took a rookie GOP'er????

Al   September 5th, 2008 9:06 pm ET

The problem here is that McCain is part of that very status quo. Folks, please do not believe the smear, propiganda, and lies that this campaign, Karl Rove, Rush Limbaugh and the likes are going to tell you over the next 60 days. They are lying. They have effectively used this propiganda before. Folks, don't buy it. Remember, what the saying was back in 1992, "It's the economy stupid". If you buy the Republican Propiganda, the situation in this country is going to get worse. You will not get the healthcare you deserve. You will not get the tax breaks you deserve. McCain lied about Obama raising taxes. He won't raise taxes on you and I, but will give us tax breaks that McCain and Bush have given to the very rich for the past 8 years that we have been denied.

mcInsane   September 5th, 2008 9:05 pm ET

McCain also thinks that he is the only one who fought for USA , that's why he voted against the GI bill. He doesn't think they also fought for the country.

Why Sarah Palin is reapeating the lines from her speech at the convention. Seems speech writers have to catch up with the rate she is villifying the opposition.

She is rally behaving like a puppet child. Saying whatever she is told to say. She is not at all gracefull. I don't know how she made to the governer.

Dennis in CT   September 5th, 2008 9:05 pm ET

Funny how the the Republicans are jumping on the "Change" theme now. How would electing a President who has voted with G.W. Bush 95% of the time, who selected a Vice President who is further to the right than Chaney, give us change? What a bunch of BS

sylvia   September 5th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

What has John McCain accomplished over the 26 years in Washington? He is certainly using Palin to distract his record. This is pathetic..

voter   September 5th, 2008 8:58 pm ET

you got nothing done. No to gi bill. No to every vet bill for healthcare. No for katrina aid. No to funding education. No to equal pay for work. No to raising minimum wage. How is this change?

anyonmous   September 5th, 2008 8:58 pm ET

mccains finish get over it guys

Cecil   September 5th, 2008 8:56 pm ET

It's Experience, That's Telling The People Right Now Of The U.S.A. That This Presidential Race Isn't About The Issues!

But It's About How Good You Look On TV, Who Has The Best Catch Phrases,

Who Looks More American, Who Acts More American, Who Lies The
Best,

Who Has The Best Family Imagery, The Best Smears Toward
Your Opponent.

Experience People Love To Talk About The Issues, They Dont Hide Behind False Hoods! That's Real Experience!

Brown   September 5th, 2008 8:56 pm ET

Sarah, you are not doing anything. They won't even let you talk to the press. This whole thing is a joke.

Jack   September 5th, 2008 8:55 pm ET
