barack's idea of economic reform is welfare checks for everyone. welcome to marxism!!

barack better HOPE it's not about the issues because he has no ideas for ANY OF THEM.
he's only the frontrunner because reid thought minorities and white guilt libertards who compromise the democrapic party would accept it when he coronated someone in their name rather than letting the stronger candidate hillary clinton win through popular measures.

To PUMA PALIN: " Well Senator…. you were there for the last two… you know… when it started going bad!"

That's why he is running for President or are you too ignorant to see that! BTW John Bush was there for 26... maybe you have a case of dementia!

Over 1.2 million homes in foreclosure. High unemployment rate, the ever increasing cost of fuel (think you are crying now, wait until the home heating season kicks off). Increased crime activities, horrible public education system, families struggle to put kids through college, steady increase of teen pregnancy, sons and daughters lost as the result of an unjustifiable war, billions of our tax dollars sent to Iraq to help with building infrastructure while ours are crumbling all around us. This is "Putting America First" John McCain and Republican STYLE.

The Republican convention was terrible, first where is all the young people and people who are not white? Then how many times do we have to hear about POW McCain is that all you got ? Then Palin, talk about smug, I first felt sorry for her, being used as a political play by " Country First " McCain, not anymore, now I feel sorry for the American voter who have to listen to this women's half truth's and her appalling attitude towards community workers what happened to serving your country Palin?? Then to top it off, we get to see the smiling proud as can be 18 year old boyfriend holding hands with the knocked up 17 year old daughter of the Republican VP what a bunch of hypocrite's, if that was the Democrats VP daughter they would be screaming "where is the outrage?". Finally McCain speech was awful same old list of issue ideas that Bush had back in 2000 .

I think that John Mccain is a good person, I really do, But he has too many issues with his own party to think on his own. his positions change too quickly for my liking.

Barack is clearly the only candidate who wants to stop the death in Iraq, which is now-Thanks to our current government- a bigger terrorist training ground than Bin Laden could have dreamed of!

PS where is he anyway? buying new furniture for his cave-condo?

The more I watch the campaigning the more I feel America is bias like the men and women in the middle east, (women being seen but not heard). I only hope here in America the women can a lest have name band sheets, slipper and boots to wear . In a family the women is the back bone, make all the decisions the husband is the head he calls the shots, he agree or disagree with her decision and his word is final. This is the way I see McCain and Palin, it is like a marriage committee to each other to do a job for the American people, we put our life into their hands to help us grow.
She can speak, for the woman of American we have a voice. But women can never take the place of the man. Women are not trying to take away from the men but to help build him up and make them stronger . Women are not weak, we are here to help the men to make the world a better place. Stop putting women in the back. We can walk side by side with the men. God,“said treat a woman as the weaker vessel- 1st Pe 3:7 not that she is weak. Palin was stronger in her speak than McCain, because she is just being a women. If men knew women better than just making babies they would under stand she is only being a woman like any other woman, that’s alright her speech should be stronger , But she can’t over power McCain, what he decides will go no matter which way she put it. Can it be men are afraid of woman? That’s why they push women out of everything. If Obama wants “CHANGE” start first with changing the way you think about women. That goes not only for Obama but all men in the United State of American for which it stands One Nation Under God individual with liberty and justice for all.

Sorry...but either it being about the issues or personality...OBAMA is the next President of the United States of America.

Obama is truly what the country needs because of how he will handle the issues in America and his genuine and well-tempered personality. McCain is just a cannon waiting to go off . Anyone that has been a POW can tell you that they have serious mental issues. And now Palin is just as angry and over conservative as McCain.

With McCain and Palin in the White House...America will be doomed!!!

We can elect officials, but it is up to us, The People, to educate ourselves and understand other cultures and people, so we can help out with the 'National Security' process.

It's amazing how in 2000, people just jumped on the 'Iraqi Freedom' bandwagon. Later, we all found out, it was really about jumping in on the 'Oil bandwagon'.

I am not eligible to vote yet. But I have been reading a lot about what is going on in politics and our economy. Yesterday, the republicans said that they want less government in our business. But with the current economy as it stands today, the lack of regulations in some areas have caused a lot of problem in our economy. Now government is spending a lot of money to bail out the private sector that the republicans do not want to regulate. I feel McCain, Palin and some of the other republicans are not been sincere with us. They are telling a lot of lies in between the lines. My fear is that people are not paying attention. We failed to pay attention when we elected Bush.

Nonsense, Axe2Grind. Your question about Condi Rice just makes no sense at all. To say that McCain is too much like Bush means he voted to support him 90% of the time. And pretty much everyone admits that Bush has been a disaster. So it follows that McCain will be a similar disaster.

Thankfully, he is going to lose.

I think Gov.Palin will be attractive to the Christian Evangelicals and Fundamentalists that love to hear Bible teaching which is perfectly ok.

However, the curent family issues (pregnant daughter and new baby) with Sarah Pailn is sure to have a psychological impact on her and the family.

It will depend in great on how America wants the country to go from the Bush / Cheney / Rove years.

Hopefully, McCain, 72, will retire now.

I honestly didn't hear one plausible solution to this country's many problems during the entire four days of the republican convention.

McCain said:
1. He's going to solve the energy crisis by drilling more. Even T Boone Pickens says that won't work.
2. He's going to continue the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Isn't that what got us in the economic mess we're in now?
3. He wants to tax the portion of health-care premiums that are paid by employers. For me that means my income would be tax at an additional $1200 annually. Thanks McCain!!
4. I have no idea what his plan is for global warming and the environmental problems we face. Maybe John would like a do over? I think he forgot to mention that.

The one thing I do agree with was his call for change, however, I don't think anyone told him Obama has been calling for that for almost 2 years now.

Let's go with the real deal - Barack Obama. Not someone like John McCain that has changed his campaighn strategy no less than three times to attract votes.

Hey Franky,

It was Cindy's father who created the wealth that she and McCain are living off of. He provided them the means to acquire 7 houses, Private Jets, and unlimited amount of $500 Italian shoes.

This is the reason who they are out of touch with America. They don't know how the average american lives.

She has such a jaded view of America that only goes overseas to help struggling people. Like her husband, she has no clue that people are struggling here also.

"Obama is back to the whinning card. How many times have we heard, " they are going to try and scare you about me." What a joke he is. How will he pay for cutting the majority of our taxes? When 95% of us pay 90% of the taxes? Big oil and big business won't make up for 100% of the taxes. He will do this and pay for college, medical insurance, and give us all $500.00 apiece? Does he think we all have STUPID tattooed on our foreheads?"

To the person who wrote this comment:

You obviously do not know how much the oil industry profits. Read up before you make a comment.

"There is no replacement or nothing better than experience. All you youngsters relying on your degree to "set you free" better learn that quick."

- You see, right here, there's an argument that in fact and history has no relevance whatsoever.

Factually, Obama has been involved in Goverment, in some position or another, for more than 12 years. From Illinois' Senate to the US Senate. He is a sitting member on the International Relations Committee. He has been very active in legislation, including some pieces reaching across the isle (for instance with McCain on immigration - the Maverick can't say he didn't know...).

Historically, some of the best Presidents of the United States have had the same amount of State "experience" as Obama currently has... or less. Among them, Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy, George Washington... and of course the most comparable of all, arguably one of best (if not the best) Presidents in US History, Abraham Lincoln himself!

So I get kind of tired to see the pseudo-experience card played over and over again. Being President isn't so much about experience as it is about Vision and Integrity. You can ask whether Obama and McCain fulfill these criteria, but the whole experience thing is WAY overrated these days.

McCain was a POW, but when you compare his experience to Kerry, Kerry was out on the swift boat, making decisions that will save or kill his men. Kerry executed bravery. He put his life on the line to save others. Kerry is a true HERO.

Stacy,

The USS Cole was attacked by Al-Qaeda under Clinton's watch. Clinton also had an opportunity to take out Bin Laden and didn't do it. Yes, 9/11 happened while Bush was in office, but in hindsight both parties had opportunities to prevent it. The Repubs point was that an attack has not occurred on US soil since 9/11.

Once again, Obama lies. Republicans (plural) didn't say it. One Republican said it. The issues are being discussed daily and McCain has much better, more realistic plans. Obama spouts off utopian BS that cannot be funded or realized. Obama will do, say anything to keep the focus off his true self - a weak, inexperienced candidate whose only saving grace is he's being propped up by the liberal press. On every issue that has come up since he's started running for President, he's been wrong on, then had to change his mind, then had to change his mind again. He's an ameteur, and we don't need an ameteur in the White House.

I would like to hear comments about how many former presidents were Governors vs. Senators, and then how long were they in each post prior to CAMPAIGNING. I have heard Obama use his campaigning as experience and that scared me away from him. I believe that McCain can differentiate between campaigning and governing.

Republicans lie ..i can not vote for McCain. I will be voting for Obama. I watched both conventions...talk about day and night. all week at the RNC all you heard were stories about how great Mccain is..no issues...NOTHING! unlike the DNC where i heard plans voiced over and over through out the convention. Obama's speech has 29 talking points on the issues. ALL of them. Not a ONE except for the war..with the GOP

THEY HAVE NO PLAN FOR AMERICA!

and Palin? Does the GOP think Americans are completely STUPID?

So if you look at the real truth, Obama is equal to McCain. They both made laws. One made more laws because he's older. This is the only difference.

And about experience, I'm not too crazy about it. I need judgement and vision. Obama first opposed the war. McCain voted for the war. Where's the experience?

McCain failed us. He did not protect us from lies. There are a few senators that voted against the war. They knew there was something wrong with rushing to war.

Why no one is asking about William Ayers?
Why no one is asking about lack of Love Obama has shown for this country?

Obama has gotten a free ride and our journalist should be ashamed for this tragedy.

McCain has proven his leadership abiltites? I was watching Channel 11 and the anchormen asked this one McCain advisor or whatever a question " If Obama has no experience making an executive decision, what decision has McCain made?"

She couldnt answer the question because for 26 years, McCain was a Senator making laws. There's no leadership in making laws. Laws are just laws.

McCain score 0 Obama 0

I think General Wesley Clark is the closes to making an executive decision. He was Supremet Nato Commander and made decisions.

If some of you Rethugs would just do some fact checking, even a little, you'd find out how accomplished Obama is. However, you won't, because you want to believe the worst about him. Obama has been held to the highest standard of any nominee in history. Even his pastor and colleague are connected to him! Isn't this the country that has turned our politics over to right wing "Christian" fundamentalists for the last 8 years?

McCain and Palin DO NOT FOCUS ON ISSUES... all they care about is moose dressing and hockey moms... OBAMA actually has a plan for america and your republicans just want to shoot it down with your semi automatics and your failed bush politics

I just want to say this: This is not about if is a woman, a man, a African- American, or an old ex POW. This is about our country and the best set of PEOPLE that will put this country back on top. Experienced and new blood, young energy that will make us exited to do our part on the process. The republican party has only one objective: The rich be as rich as they can be in this life time, doesn't matter who or what it hurts, and it is hurting for the past eight years. It's hurting the economy, sending jobs over seas; it's hurting the environment, companies are not held responsible ( remember EXON, oil spilling on the S. Francisco bay?); war against anyone because it's a industry they still have a lot invested on... People, wake up! Go Obama, I am with you!

What is really surprising is that the whole "We Republicans are the only patriotic people in this nation", the "this world is a dangerous place. You need to think about the next nuclear holocaust!" and -let's not forget- the "Liberal! Liberal! Evil! They'll take your children and immolate them in front of you for the pleasure of their marxist masters!" cards have been played over, and over again by the Republicans to avoid talking about the issues.

Get the government out of the way but by your side, they say. HOW?
Defend the country? HOW? By bullying other nations until their insane and desperate children blow up more buildings in the United States?
Oil independence? By giving more tax cuts to Oil Companies and drilling for yet more Oil?
Achieve a victory in Irak? HOW? Define "Victory", please?

The surge worked? Really? Is it by sending more troops there, or by getting the militia to be on the payroll of the United States army? Doesn't that spell out di-plo-ma-cy to you?

I mean. Talking about lipstick, funny names and war stories is all fine and dandy, but outside of soundbites, I don't see much matter coming out of the Republican Convention.

Democrats need to start airing prime time attack ads or they will LOSE THIS ELECTION. How about a shot of Palin's wee little Wasilla town hall with a caption stating "Here's where the Republican VP nominee gained most of her leadership experience. Sarah Palin: Not ready to stand ready." Or a montage of a few of McCain's most absurd blunders under an "Entirely lacking in judgement" banner. Or "a How many houses can YOU afford?" ad. Democrats must stop playing softball. American politics are and always have been negative, attack-oriented and cynical. This is what wins, because we like our leaders to be tough.

Mc Cain said he is a Maverick and he doesn't agree with Republican politics in Washington. He's been in Washington for 26 years why hasn't he fixed any of our many problems. How can he say he is for change when he has voted for Bush's policies 90 % of the time. When I see Mc Cain I see four more years of the same. Do you think our country can afford four more years. I don't think so. Obama is our man for change.

Didn't McCain hate celebrities? Suddently, being a celebrity like Palin or draw a large audience is in vogue again, in fact, a point for Republicans to boast about! Listen to all the Repub swooned about Palin and you would think McCain and all others, senators', big state governors', community organizers' works are all worthless! Only Palin's records are worth the prize. Only women with 5 children, with a Down syndrome son and a pregnant teen daughter are "one of us" who are better to be VP and president. From now on, every four years, we only need celebrity contest to elect our presidents. Republicans' lies are breaktaking. They stand for lofty people but when they need votes, they use women as strophy as usual.
Vote for issues: EQUAL PAY, WOMEN'S CHOICE, UNIVERSAL HEALTH INSURANCE, VETS BENEFITS.

For all of you that are enthralled with Sarah Palin, I would tell you to read the article about her in the Wall Street Journal today. Now, the WSJ is by no means a liberal newspaper so you all that yell about liberal bias can't do that with this newspaper. Just a couple of highlights......after she became mayor, she approached the town librarian and asked how she felt about taking some books off the shelves that Palin thought should be removed and the libararian basically said no way and Palin basically said just asking. This is what McCain wants for a running mate. Oh my!!!I I am an Arizonian and a long standing Democrat and 20 something years ago h
e was a different kind of cat, now he has the standard Repubg stripes and even though I am a loyal Hillary supporter, NO MCCAIN/PALIN NO WAY 8 IS ENOUGH BTW, field dressing a moose is not my idea of experience needed to run this country when you are a heartbeat away from the Presidency and as Paris said he is a wrinkly old guy.

Fellow Amercians,

Day by day, I am getting dissatisfied with Obama. Looks like another Dukakis/Gore/Kerry. Obama is getting money from ordinary citizen like me but he is too slow to respond in Republicans attack like in 1988/2000/2004. Sorry fellow democrats, Obama is getting all the money from ordinary people but why he is waiting for counter-attack???? Or will be another Howard dean like no go where Internet campaign.

Probably he will and realize like 1988/2000/2004 when it was too late to turn the Table around... I am not sending any dime to Obama campaign until he shows he can counter punch. If not I need to accept 6.1% unemployment rate, 1.2 million foreclosure just in Auigust.
