ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) - Alaska lawmakers Friday moved up their deadline for finishing an investigation into Gov. Sarah Palin's firing of the state's public safety commissioner and warned they will begin issuing subpoenas for witnesses next week.

The report into Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan's dismissal had been scheduled for October 31. But now that Palin is the Republican nominee for vice president, lawmakers want to avoid an "October surprise" that could sway the November presidential election, the investigation's managers said.

If you ask me, her desire to get the investigation transferred to the state Personnel Board is very suspicious. If she really has nothing to hide, then why is she trying to get her investigation taken on by people who would be sympathetic to her, rather than just let the investigation run its course?
It is absolutely hilarious to see the fear in the Obamabots. How can you tell they are scared? Read over all of these posts. All they can do is say John Mccaine is old. All they can say is skin cancer. All they can say is Mcbush. All they can say is he is boring. All they can say is I fell alseep.
Well here is something for you to ponder. Instead of sleeping through the speech…next time listen to it. Listen to his ideas. Listen to his past accomplishments. Listen to him give you examples of his bipartisanship. Inform yourselves for crying out loud.
Some people inspire through words like Obama….other people inspire through actions like Mccaine.
It is so sad that you all need fireworks, flashing lights, and Roman columns to be able to stay awake through a speech. There was alot to be learned last night about the man John Mccaine. About his decision making processes, about his leadership skills, about his character. There was also alot of information on what direction he wants to take the country. Not a laundry list of false promises, false dreams, and outright lies. He gave a practical vision of what it will take to turn this country around…..a plan that with hardwork and good discipline is achievable. He didn't promise you free this, free that, checks in the mail, lower gas prices because I said so, higher paychecks because I said so, world peace because I said so.
It is great to see the Obama supporters so involved, now take some of that energy and inform yourselves.

McCain sends 25 lawyers. The number one witness NOW refuses to testify. They are moving up the probe now. The investigators will not call her as a witness in her own investigation.

Why would they not subpoena Palin? She's the one who has to answer what she directed her staff to do. The 20 calls from her office are not in issue. The content of at least one is taped. The issue becomes what knowledge did she have of the content of the calls and what direction did she give. The aides didn't make the calls on their own initiative; you can bet that.
I would think that the Governor would be the first one they'd interview to get her side of the story. They then would have a baseline to judge all the evidence on, whether or not she's telling the truth.
Of course if your friend is George, then why worry? Typical GOP good ole boy network taking care of their own.
BTW: I watched the McCain speech last night.....I counted 3, maybe four "minority" faces in the crowd,,,,whose in touch with most of America? I ask you!
She can always follow the Bush example of claiming "executive privilege". This would be right in keeping with Bush term 3.
