Palin: Biden isn't an agent of change

Gov. Palin said Sen. Biden isn't capable of transforming Washington.

Gov. Palin said Sen. Biden isn't capable of transforming Washington.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (CNN) – Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin attacked her Democratic counterpart for the first time on Saturday, accusing Sen. Joe Biden of being a creature of Capitol Hill incapable of transforming Washington.

“You know, the choices that presidential nominees make for running mate they say a lot about them,” Palin told an audience of 12,000 flag-waving Republicans who had gathered in a jet hangar here.

Watch: Palin says Biden isn't an agent of change

“When our opponent made his choice, he went for a fine man,” she said. “A decent man. Sen. Biden can claim many chairmanships across many, many years in Washington, and certainly many friends in the Washington establishment. But even those admirers would not be able to call him an agent of change.”

Meanwhile, she said, “Sen. McCain has called the two of us a team of mavericks. John McCain knows that we’ve done some shaking up in Alaska.”

Palin ventured briefly into the world of economic policy during her remarks, calling for reform at mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which are now facing the prospect of a government bailout. Palin has largely avoided policy discussions on the campaign trail thus far, instead focusing on her own biography and emphasizing her reformer credentials.

“John McCain has been calling for years to reform things and cut bureaucracy, even at the lending agencies that our government supports,” Palin said. “The fact is that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, they’ve gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers. The McCain-Palin administration will make them smaller and smarter and more effective for homeowners who need help.”

Palin is an imposter. She's trying to claim that she is a reformer when she's used lobbyist and earmarks and abuse of power to advance her own agenda.

If she's as experienced as the McCain camp states then she'd be talking to the media and voters in a diologue so we could get to know her. They havn't figured out how to spin her flip flops and typical politics yet so they are keeping her off limits.

She gives women a bad name.

What has Obama ever done to suggest he represents change? He played the Chicago politics game for years and hung-out with some of the most unsavory characters this city has to offer. More importantly, he has never crossed party lines once on any issues of substances - that's how you become ranked as the most liberal senator in America. Lastly, don't you find it amusing that he is battling Sarah Palin on the experience issue and not McCain, his primary competition at the top of the ticket? The country is growing increasingly tired of Obama's speeches and empty promises, and it's starting to reflect in the poll numbers.

Palin is frightening. And those supporting her are even more scary. How can anyone in their right mind want someone like this in charge of anything? She is a moron, pure and simple.

She is on tape saying "i dont even know what a VP does" this is who McCain wants to run NASA? this country is rotting away if people think she is smart, and should be in charge of anything. can barely even manager her family (who btw, is ok to make a CHOICE about her baby, but they dont want anyone else to be allowed to make the same CHOICE...hippocrite).

"she is close to russia, that makes her experienced" hmm, there are millions of ppl in the northern states, I guess they are just as qualified since they are close to canada....give me a break, saying she is close to Russia as an excuse for creditibility is ridiculous. wake up people...

It must be opposite day for the Mcain – Palin team!

Give me a break, I can't believe a word from either of the Republican's cadidates mouths. Unfortunately, the more they speak, the deeper the hole they dig.

    Scott L,

How long have the dems controlled Congress? What, 2 years? How are they supposed to clean up 6 years of republican bs in 2 years? You voted for Bush, huh? And now you're trying to blame the people who did not want him in office. Please educate yourselves people.

Come out, come out wherever you are, Palin, and face the real press. What are you, besides a mouthpiece for Republican talking points? You're a wind-up Caribou Barbie, that's what. You make me sick. Joe Biden is something you will never be–a statesman. Go back to Alaska and wreck your state with Arctic drilling. We don't need your reactionary ideas here in the lower 48.

Palin, you wouldn't know change if it hit you in the face. Little by little the truth about you is starting to trickle out of Alaska. Soon it will be a raging river and everyone will know what a horrible and ridiculous choice McCain made. You couldn't even run a town of 5k. you had to hire an administrator to do it for you. McCain won't even let you campaign on your own or mee with the media, because they know what a joke you are. All in good time the truth will come out.

How dare Paling smudge one of our most honored Politicians?

Just kidding. Biden is one of our greatest politicians in my opinion – and I find it downright funny that Palin tries to smear her lipstick on him. Biden has a cloud that can be an agent of change. That is what is his role as I see it in this election. Obama has the vision and the means.

McCain and Palin have a lot of anger tactics. McCain is a Reformed Maverick who back until about 2006 stood for a lot great things as far as I am concerned. But now he is back in the fold (why did he not dare to go with his first choice VP's?). Nothing Maverick about McCain anymore – and I don't even see any reason to waste words on Palin – but the word: populist. Her record and need to claim one lie upon another surely speaks for itself.

PS: Tainopower, 'the flag story' is another smear.

Obama has intelligence and backs it up. Joe Biden has experience and backs it up. McCain just want to desparately be president no matter what it takes but he knows he and his ideas are too old. The lady from Alaska has nothing more than sarcasm offer and has yet to show us anything substantial. Let her meet with the press and show us otherwise – or be quiet.

Palin couldn't talk her way out of a box when it comes to economic or foreign policies. The woman is having to be schooled right now by McCain's staff with a crash course. That's frightening! Mayor of a tiny town in Alaska, and governor for less than 2 years of Alaska (the entire state of Alaska has less people than the CITY of New York or Los Angeles!).

Palin was the worst choice for VP. I am sad that she thinks she can take over where Hillary left off. Her views are stupid and extreme. Hillary you need to start saying more and supporting Obama now!!!!

Palin wants us to believe that Biden can't bring change but McCain can... Last time I checked, Biden and McCain have both been fixtures in Washington for about the same length of time.

NC isn't "supposedly" a red state, NC has proven to be a red state for a vast majority of elections past. NC is currently being reported as undecided.

For those posters who keep referring to the photo of Palin in a bikini – you should check into that story a bit more, and stop believing everything you read/see on the internet. The picture is a fake.
