Ona Sunday political talk show, Sen. Biden discussed his upcoming debate against Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Joe Biden says he's debated "an awful lot of tough, smart women" throughout his career and next month's vice presidential debate with Republican Sarah Palin will be no exception.

Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press," the Democratic vice presidential nominee called Palin "a smart, tough politician" who'll be a "very formidable" opponent.

The Delaware senator and the Alaska governor are scheduled to debate October 2nd at Washington University in St. Louis.

Asked about debating Palin versus one of the male politicians considered possible running mates for John McCain, such as Mitt Romney or Tom Ridge, Biden said the only difference is that he knows their positions on issues. Biden says he assumes Palin's policies are the same as McCain's, but adds "I just don't know."

In many countries around the world pitbulls must be neutered and muzzled……

Sarah is a woman ON the platform. Her only platform is to destroy all the hard work other women have done which tallows her to be on the ticket. Her philosophy sounds like "if we go back to being the women of 1930 to 1950 everything will be just fine.' Unfortunately, she won't have to abide by the rules she espouses because she would be a 'woman in charge'.
Wake up America—this woman does NOT represent a free, democratic society.

Great job on Meet the Press Joe. I liked how you said you never heard any policies coming out of the GOP's mouths.

Go Biden!!!

You Are Not Alone Joe! No One Knows What This Square Jaw Lip Stick Wearing Pit Bull Stands On Many Issues Because She Is Afraid To Tell Anyone! She Is Quick To Spit Her Venom And Scurry Back Into The Crooked Talk Express!

Janice Il   September 7th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Don't worry about it Joe, Six weeks ago you didn't no all about Obamas views either. Well come to think about it we still don't know about all of our candidates views and politics . We can't seem to get beyond all the bull to hear what they are going to do about all our troubles.

No Hillary = No Obama   September 7th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Always stating the obvious. The stupidist thing Obama did was not picking Hillary. He should have swallowed his ego and respected the wishes of 18 million voters. Talk about poor judgment & getting caught up in your own hoopla. Obama thinks he's a slam dunk - but wait and see - in November, he'll realized he fouled. McCain upstaged him without having to use a football stadium. Obama is not presidential material.

Nobody knows about her position about anything. At this time Palin has no idea about what the vice-presidency is all about, reason why the republicans do not want her to talk to the media.

wow   September 7th, 2008 1:09 pm ET

He should be shaking in his shoes, from what people are saying, she's great in debates.

American Engr   September 7th, 2008 1:09 pm ET

If Palin is not ready for the press, how can she be ready to be President? She has slanted everything she did in Alaska as Gov also. Who would trust anything she says!

Barbara   September 7th, 2008 1:09 pm ET

No matter what happens - one way or the other - he's going to be labeled sexist because this woman has not one modicum of decorum when it comes to politics. The other, more experienced women, know that world diplomacy sometimes has to come into play. The whole world is watching.

KATHLEEN   September 7th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

I hope before the V.P. debates in St. Louis, Biden gets his hair
cut in the back. BY A PROFESSIONAL. According to McCain's obvious
pick,Palin, LOOKS WILL WORK!!!

Obama-Biden.

George Washington   September 7th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

Act like responsible adults in this campaign. Stick with the issues, and how you plan to guide America, be specific of when and how you plan to implement your policies. Be specific concerning your plans of actions. Skip the childish mudslinging. Got it ?

Jane   September 7th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

Palin isn't giving interviews for a couple weeks–needs time for tutoring sessions on all the polices she knows nothing about.

The thing is, it doesn't reflect poorly on her that she doesn't know about these policies. She's the governor of Alaska, it's not her responsibility.

But to choose her as VP: absurd. And definitely putting ambition before country.
