The Clintons and Sen. Obama sat next to one another last week at the funeral of an Ohio Congresswoman.

(CNN) – Sen. Barack Obama and former president Bill Clinton will share a private lunch together on Thursday, September 11, CNN has confirmed.

Clinton issued the invite to Obama after learning he would be in Manhattan for a joint appearance with Sen. John McCain on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, according to Clinton Foundation spokesman Matt McKenna.

The luncheon is another sign that the Clinton and Obama camps are moving forward in the spirit of unity. Major steps toward healing the party came during the Democratic National Convention where Bill Clinton and Sen. Hillary Clinton, individually addressed convention-goers, appealing to them to support Obama come November. Sen. Clinton made the motion for Obama to be formally nominated as the Democratic presidential nominee.

Hillary Clinton is set to campaign for Obama in Florida Monday, and the former president has said he will campaign on Obama’s behalf but does not have any campaign events scheduled yet.

Insead of Bill he should meet with Hillary and ask her to take on Palin. Hill would eat Palin alive. Mccain thinks he can persuede voters with putting Palin on the ticket. Giev me a break. McCain is old school politcis and clearly that doesnt work and Palin is just eye candy in my opinion. No substance there at all . I want to hear the issues not just words of change and let me ask for whom is change for ? people who make over 250,000?

Pretty hard for people to have heard how much these two camps hate each other then suddenly everything is roses between them...just goes to show that all politicians are just plain parasites and will do and say anything to get what they want.

WOW ablog that is still open. CNN your credibility is waning quickly. Are you reading the blogs that your organization is facilitating? These blogs are disproportionately in favour of Obama. Your polls are either a terrible representation of societal views or you lie for ratings.

The Dems have got to get the big guns out, get in the trenches, get muddy, and get this thing done! We sure know the Repukes can play dirty, that is the only way you can win when you are wrong on every issue!

I am more than happy to see the Clintons support the Democratic ticket. I have always liked Senator Clinton and the former President Clinton and was unhappy to Senator Clinton not be successful in her run for the presidency. However, it is not the end of the world. It must not have been the right time for it to happen. Sometimes, these things happen for a good reason. I am sure she will have many successes in future endeavors. I am 100% behind Senators Obama and Biden in their run for office as I am sure they are the right team to be the leaders of our country at this time. In the meantime, let's all get together and vote the nominated Democratic ticket into office. We need them if this country is to survive.

  10. NO WAY NO HOW NO MCCAIN

IT IS EASY TO MATCH OBAMA 38 MILLION VIEWERS WHEN YOU LIE
AND YOU GIVE US NO CHOICE BECAUSE ON NBC, ABC, CBS AND FOX, IN ADDITION TO MSNBC, CSPAN, YOU TELEVISE THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION LIVE, HOWEVER, DURING THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION ABC, CBS, FOX AND NBC DID NOT TELEVISE THE CONVENTION LIVE, BUT HAD REGULAR PROGRAMMING. I LOOKED FOR THE DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION ON EACH CHANNEL. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO WATCH IT ON MSNBC AND CSPAN. MANIPULATION OF PEOPLE IS HOW
THE BUSH/MCCAIN AND NOW PALIN ERA HAD THRIVED AND DROVE AMERICA AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DOWN AND IN FEAR. WE HAVE TO FIGHT AND FIGHT HARD. WE ARE NOT STEPFORD AMERICANS.

YOU REPUBLICANS ARE FORCING PALIN DOWN OUR THROATS, A PERSON WHO IS UNDER AN ETHICS INVESTIGATION FOR ABUSE OF POWER AS SOME SUPERSTAR??? A DAY AFTER REPUBLICANS VISIT TO ALASKA 7 WITNESSES CHANGED THEIR MINDS AND BRISTOL’S BABY’S DADDY IS NOW HER NEW FIANCE WITHOUT A RING AND THEY ARE NOW THE BEAVER CLEAVER FAMILY AND NEW STARS WHEN NO ONE HEARD OF HER 2 WEEKS AGO, AND NOW THEY ARE GOING TO PUT HER IN HIDING WHILE THEY PROGRAM HER??? YEAH, SHE IS SOMETHING ALRIGHT, BUT NOT SOMETHING WE WANT.

SHE IS NO STAR. SHE IS NOT PREPARED TO LEAD. SHE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION AND THAT’S THE BEST PERSON YOU GOT. CORRUPTION IS ALL IN THIS NOMINATION AND COVER UP AND AMERICA IS NOT STUPID. SHE IS NOT THE WOMAN FOR THE JOB. COVER UP AND LIES GOT THIS COUNTRY IS THE TROUBLE IT IS IN NOW AND ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!! REPUBLICAN RULE IS OVER. AMERICA WILL LIVE AND SURVIVE AND THRIVE BECAUSE OF OBAMA AND BIDEN. PLAY YOUR TRICKS ON SOMEONE WHO HAS NOT SEEN YOUR GAME!!!!

If you want affordable health care that has quality with it do not go to Universal/Socialized Healthcare. In 1985 when I lived in Sartoga NY the local news made the mistake of reporting that 1/3 of your medical bill was to protect the doctors, nurses, paramedics, and hospitals form the ambulance chasing lawyers. I would rather see rich doctors and lawyers/malpractice insurance sales persons unemployed. We need "Tort Reform" to cut medical cost down.

  13. PALIN IS A CORRUPT POLITICIAN UNDER INVESTIGATION

McCain’s VP Choice Is Under Ethics Investigation For Abuse Of Power In Alaska»
Palin’s reformer image took a hit last month when she was accused of attempting to get a state trooper fired. That state trooper was her former brother-in-law who had gone through “a messy divorce” with her sister. After the trooper’s boss wouldn’t act on the governor’s request, she fired him. Though Palin says she doesn’t “have anything to hide” and she “didn’t do anything wrong there,” an investigation has found that one of her aides pushed the firing:
Gov. Sarah Palin on Wednesday revealed an audio recording that shows an aide pressuring the Public Safety Department to fire a state trooper embroiled in a custody battle with her sister.
Palin, who has previously said her administration didn’t exert pressure to get rid of trooper Mike Wooten, also disclosed that members of her staff had made about two dozen contacts with public safety officials about the trooper.
Palin’s scandal envelops her in the constellation of scandal-plagued lawmakers currently serving in Alaska. Here’s a brief overview:
Sen. Ted Stevens: Last month, long-serving Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens was indicted by a federal grand jury “with seven counts of making false statements for failing to disclose” gifts of over $250,000 from the oil services company VECO Corp.
    Senate President Lyda Green.

I think that more of Obama supporters should reach out to Hillary support; it should not just be an olive branch from Hillary supporters to Obama.

This is good. This is good. Clinton is capable of being the best advisor Obama could have if they are able to forge an alliance. It would be great for the party and the country if these two lions could work together for the common good.

  17. PALIN IS A CORRUPT POLITICIAN UNDER INVESTIGATION

BEFORE PALIN CRITICIZES ANYONE ELSE, GET HER OWN STORIES STRAIGHT.

    MCCAIN AND PALIN

PICK OF PALIN IS AN INSULT !!! AND PALIN LIED
AND YOU ARE NOT HILLARY !!!

Palin learns from the best. In her first speech she said she
fought against the good old boys and adamantly opposed
the Bridge to Nowhere, so why in 2006 did she sit next
to the good old boy and support the Bridge to Nowhere.
Now she is running with the Good Old Boy who voted
over 90% with Bush. I am a woman and Barack Obama
represents change for America and change for Americans.
Ms. Palin, please check what you did and said before you
say it on TV. Was that someone who looked liked you in
2006 who was sitting next to the Good Old Boy supporting
the Bridge to Nowhere ??? McCain’s pick is like
McCain. The Same thing. Lie to People. Hope we don’t
notice. Hope we are not smart enough to check !!!

Obama will cozy up with any snake just to feed his ego. Hanging out with the Clintons will cost him in November.

Obama has done nothing with his time in government. He can write two books about himself but not create one single law. Talk about the Audacity of Ego. Paper thin experience no thanks,

President and Senator Clinton will not be able to turn the tide that Senator Obama with his DNC buddies have put into motion. His choice for VP is a DC insider – thru and thru. What change is that?

The Democrats and all their sleezy manipulation of the nomination process, deceitfulness, race baiting, falsely accusing President Clinton of being a racist, Donna Brazile and her cheating DNC Rules Commitee and on and on and on. Oh the drama of it all.........18 million voted for the 'other' candidate – the one who would have won slam dunk. Now the great wise – ya know – the guy with such good judgment can't close the deal. This is the same fella who voted that a baby born alive from a botched abortion should be left to die. Senator Obama cannot carry the Democratic Party and he cannot close the deal. This was always known but for the Dean, Reid, Pelosi, Kerry, Brazile and of course, Obama himself.

Oh well, their stupidity will be the Republicans in the White House for four more years!!!!
