Gov. Palin and Sen. McCain campaigned together in New Mexico Saturday.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A Democratic lawmaker in Alaska denies he's attempting to damage Republican vice-presidential nominee Sara Palin.

State Senator Hollis French is overseeing an investigation into the Alaska governor's dismissal of her public safety commissioner. Critics say Palin ousted him because he didn't fire a state trooper
involved in a messy divorce with her sister.

Republican State Senator John Coghill accuses French of "steering the direction of the investigation" to have a "partisan political impact."

French concedes he probably shouldn't have made some comments that the outcome could hurt Palin, but he says lawmakers hired an independent prosecutor to make sure the probe is non-partisan.

French says it's the prosecutor who's gathering the facts and will write a final report.

Palin and McSame don't stand a chance. We all know that they stand for more of the same and this country is ready for a breath of fresh air. Just because Sarah Palin is a young woman she still represents stale neo-con policies… and hypocritical views.

Paralegal in NC   September 7th, 2008 12:55 pm ET

The Republicans will never let this be a true investigation… Can you imagine the problems they would have if it turned out to be true. The Democrats should go after Palin. Why should she be treated with delicate hands… China, Russia, etc will never treat her with delicate hands. If the world turns backwards and McCain becomes the pres. then as my pres I am very disappointed in his first pres pick was Palin. Very disappointed.

QUESTION:………………Since she is OFF limits to the media…DOES this mean she hasn't been and don’t have to go to Iraq and Iran either, isn't that what McCain speeches preached negatively about (months before he cloned Obama changed campaign) Obama, that it was funny how he wanting to be President and had NOT been to Iraq or Iran in years? Biden been to these Countries and Palin hasn't been, so it's expectable because he choose any woman to sell to the American voters who fall for it…ops….guess that's sexist!

Biden call a TOWN HALL MEETING BEFORE YOUR DEBATE WITH PALIN………….PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Read the Comic Book Edition: After boot-stomping the poor cop who dared to marry into her family, McVain and oil drilling, moose killing, ovary-cop Sarah photo-op their way to victory over the distraught bodies of a majority landslide for the other guy by messing with 90% of the ballots, (an homage to Bush,) escalate the war and the national debt, blame it all on the Democrats, and finally get those uppity women back to having babies and cleaning those bathrooms.

Debbie   September 7th, 2008 12:51 pm ET

Barack Obama should send John McCain a "thank you" card. I, like many others, have been totally unimpressed with Obama's lack of experience and substantive details. I was very open to voting for McCain. However with his pathetic pick of the scary Palin, and his obvious selling out to the far right wing, I will now be speeding to the voting booth in November to cast my vote for Obama.

Independent Woman   September 7th, 2008 12:51 pm ET

McCain-Palin consistently tells lies and no one seem to catch them. They both keep saying that she put her plane on e-bay and made a profit, but it was sold at a loss to one of her campaign donors. Talking about corruption - she is corrupted like so many others in her party. Why did Palin keep half of hard-earned taypayers' dollars for her bridge to nowhere? What did she do with it? or did she use the bridge issue to get the money to do something else? Why did she cut funding to agencies targeted at helping young teenagers like her daughter and children with disabilities? Could unanswered questions like these be her reason for not having an exclusive interview?

Please remain fair in your reporting because we as Americans deserve more considering what we've endured the last eight years.

Errrrrr....   September 7th, 2008 12:51 pm ET

We've all had enough lies and corruption…..across the board

All this shows she has little power,

Also, Sarah was hired by the McCain camp becuase of her looks.

To be honest, I don't think she is that Pretty! Maybelle and Lens crafter maym But me, naaa !

I look at how she runs her family, job, and mouth, and she has failed at all three

Peter Zheutlin   September 7th, 2008 12:50 pm ET

The Anchorage Daily News, in a lead editorial this week, said flatly that Palin is stonewalling the investigation. This is the kind of change she will bring to Washington? This is precisely what the GOP has been doing for the past eight years. Remember when Bush promised to fire anyone in the White House involved in leaking the name of an undercover CIA agent (Plame)? Well, it came right from Cheney's office via Scooter Libby. Maverick? Please. Palin has be the Queen of the Earmark as governor, happily taking federal money for earmark projects. This is ridiculous.

Barrett A. Metzler, Bearden, AR 71720   September 7th, 2008 12:50 pm ET

Gee, Don't you love all of these attack dogs (oops, dog is too good of a word for these people) giubg after Sarah Palin? I am sure that the fact that the trooper in question, among other activities, tasered his 10 year old son. Got to love people like that.

Sven   September 7th, 2008 12:50 pm ET

The investigation is a state matter… GOP and McCain need not mess with it… is that not what they preach less government? It's a local item to deal with and let the people know the truth without GOP interference

Strange that once willing witnesses in last 72 hrs not willing to give depositions since the GOP legal team arrived in town. (Alaska newspapers report)

GOP why the team of lawyers to mess with this?

There is more to Palin than the "hockey mom' image

If Palin is such a great choice… the GOP covering and shelter her
from media

wow   September 7th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

Rheem…the MEDIA DEMAND?????? Excuse me, but I think PALIN will decide when and with whome she speaks. Did you drink your kool-aid today?

brian k   September 7th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

OOPS, i meant to say 20 of the 24 comments are vehemently opposed to Sarah Palin and her over-rated, over-hyped, obviously corrupt so-called "leadership". (I just woke up, what can I say?) I'm going to watch some football and eat breakfast. But I would still like to know if there are other people out there who are tired of allowing the Conservative Base to determine who becomes president.

wow   September 7th, 2008 12:48 pm ET

The trooper should be in JAIL.

DJ   September 7th, 2008 12:48 pm ET

I was an uncommitted voter until recent developments. Governor Palin is not running for the office of President, but listening to the media you would think she was, not Senator McCain. The McCain supporters are constantly portraying her as a victim; this is a sign of weakness and a very poor vetting process. It has nothing about her as a woman but as a candidate if she can not with stand moderate scrutiny how can she with stand the rigors of the office of VP? It is as if her advisors and supporters are trying to place a seed in the minds of voters that any legitimate question or challenge is an attack or she is being treated unfairly because she is a woman especially since many of the comments she makes are I am that type of gal or can relate to women can't have it both ways or can she?

From reading of Governor Palin's positions she is to the right policy wise of both President Bush and Senator McCain. From comments this make Rush Limbaugh happy which sells well at the convention but not to Middle America which does not poll very will I have never been called.

The McCain & Palin platform has gone from experience to change is a copy of what the Obama platform has been all along. Are they now following Obama; it sure sounds and feels like it?

Alaska and Arizona POW for Obama/Biden   September 7th, 2008 12:48 pm ET

Geraldine Ferraro was the first woman VP and was a democrat. you people get inform before who say such thing that this is the greatest history for women since suffrage. No it isn't; I wonder if geraldine ferraro nomination as first woman VP in the history of US was not matter. people are very inform and saying such things makes people want to laugh at your one sided republican guts. Geraldine ferraro first woman nominate VP, Hillary Clinton first woman to ran for the presidency as a front runner for quite a long time and these folks are Democrats. No way, no how, No mcCain son of George Bush.

Eric   September 7th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

What's more interesting is that Palin's lawyers are trying their best to cancel the investigation and turn it into an internal inquiry where the three persons in charge were selected by the governor. She is not even close to the Oval office but already trying her best to obstruct the law. Not only do they play Rove's politics, not only does she read the lines written by Bush's speech writer, but she presents the same indiffrence to the law. Simply amazing. And you find people supporting this woman and McCain. It is beyond belief.

Kevin   September 7th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

And here we go with the Repulican smear machine focusing its efforts on clearing her name and destroying all those in her path. I will say this, I saw the interview of the trooper on CNN and he does seem sketchy and I don't believe him. His answers were evasive. Still, the investigation of abuse of power by Palin is valid.

Terrie Nichols   September 7th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

It's Sunday morning, and Wolf Blitzer is interviewing Senators Barbara Boxer and Kay Bailey Hutchison. While I am a democrat and a staunch supporter of Senator Obama and often disagree with Senator Hutchison, I am once again impressed by her depth of knowledge and ability to calmly yet authoritatively make her point on any topic from our economy to international issues - sans a teleprompter and/or Cliff notes. Juxtaposing Senator Hutchison with Governor Palin, I find myself scratching my head once again and wondering, "How in the hell did the republicans end up with Palin, and is America going to sell out the American dream once again by voting for someone they would most like to have a beer with?"

Wendy in NC   September 7th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

If Gov. Palin is "not available" for press questions or interviews, then the entire press corps should refuse to cover their campaign. No more FREE coverage until they let her talk to the American people. The news media gives them tons of free exposure - save your money and dump them until they start talking to US.

Brenda of Saginaw ,Michigan   September 7th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

Rheem took the words right out of my mouth. I totally agree. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Bonnie   September 7th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

Is Sarah Palin so incompetent that she can't campaign alone or handle talking to the press? McCain said she was ready to be VP or President if need be. He's not showing the trust he says he has- another lie? Perhaps its because the Bush team are calling the shots! By choosing her he puts our country in jeopardy, she has too much baggage. This is how he shows us his professed love of country?

brian k   September 7th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

4 of the previous 24 comments are vehemently opposed to Sarah Palin and her over-rated, over-hyped, obviously corrupt so-called "leaadership". And I agree with every one one of the 20 comments. And, no, I am not a Democrat or Republican. I am a political observer. I am particularly offended by the way the Republican Party blatantly manipulates Palin's public image, and what she says. And I am deeply put off by her refusal to appear before the free press and be held accountable for her statements and actions (however controlled they are by the GOP, she is still the one who must be held responsible.) Most of the CNN blog comments are anti-Palin, and yet she is portrayed as some kind of rock superstar. I don't get it. Most of the recent polls show that Obama improved his overall rating with the American people. But for some reason Palin is still being portrayed as this blammo whammo savior. And when are we going to hear from a GOP commentator on TV who doesn't constantly smirk and interrupt and yap, yap, yap? Back to business. Palin attacked Obama during the convention very directly, and yet she continues to run and hide from the press. About all she has going for her is the Conservative Base, the very same people who were responsible for electing the sad, pathetic George W. Bush for 8 corrupt, misguided and misdirected years. Aren't Americans tired of allowing the Conservative Base to determine who becomes president? I know I am. Anybody else?

MK   September 7th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

Every one is concerned with issues below the belt.

How about debating on $9.3 trillion US national debt that grows at a rate of $2 billion a day?

Has McCain and his band hit snooze on this issue or what?

Mike O   September 7th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

Sarah is making herself available to the American people first and the press second. She had three media interviews scheduled yesterday alone. But, no; she won't come hat in hand to the self-appointed journalistic king-makers; and for that, she should be admired.

J Howell   September 7th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

Why are they keeping Palin under wraps?? Are the republicans afraid of what she might say under questioning? I am so tired of hearing her repeat the words of her advisors and not be accountable to the public…. She will never get my vote….

Travis   September 7th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

I believe everyone here wants to know ALL the truth..not just bits

So here are a few questions Ms Palin before the election:

1. Since you were pregnant and you started to leak fluid, during a
speech in Texas, you chose to finish your speech and then fly for
11 hours back to Alaska. And then drive for 45 minutes to a hospital
in a small town to have a baby with health problems.

How so?…you would thnk that you would want the best care possible
for yourself and the baby at a large city to handle your needs.

2. I read in your newspaper that you gave birth to a 6lb 2oz baby boy.
Which you have told us that he was born 4 weeks premature.

Does a premature baby not weigh less if premature?..just asking.
Did you transport yourself and baby to a neo-natal unit because he was premature?..No because you were back to work 3 days after giving birth. THAT'S ODD

3.Why are all the family pictures taken off the govt and other websites?

Are there things there you don't want us to see?…Too late we've already seen them.

4. It's odd that the only baby's parents name that was born in the hospital on that day was definitely NOT Palin. Newspapers are printed

Looks like the MSM hasn't the gazoo's to check on these questions because the Repub will call it "sexist"

HERE'S MY TAKE ON IT….

You got a phone call when in Texas that Bristol was going into labor, so you booted it for home to make a good coverup.

Either there are going to be a lot of people perjure themselves, either way you and McWar are in a whole pile of hurt.

WAIT FOR IT…..NATIONAL ENQUIRE IS DOING MSM'S HOMEWORK

Belle   September 7th, 2008 12:41 pm ET

Actually, Sarah Palin FOUGHT against corrupt politicians in her own state.

Do you think some of the Republicans like her? NOPE. They are pissed over the cancellation of the gas contract to big oil because it lined their campaign coffers.

As a Chairman of oversight on the investigation that Palin welcomed, it is HIGHLY improper for Hollis French to make the comments he did to the media which included she could be impeached and he has an October surprise for Palin. He should step down and far away.

Even Monegan stated that at NO TIME did Palin EVER ask him to fire Woofen, but I agree, what on earth is a man that admits to drinking on duty, tasering his step-son, doing representing Troopers in Alaska?

IS HE THE BEST ALASKA HAS TO OFFER? Oh the power of corruption in the unions…that is another thing McCain-Palin should add to their ticket.

Andrew Musila   September 7th, 2008 12:41 pm ET

Republicans need to understand that we need to know all that there is to know about this Palin person before she takes office. They cannot be allowed to stall the investigation so the bad news comes out after elections. That was what they did with someone's drunk record; they hid the files untill after elections only the truth to reveal that Bush had been arrested for drank driving!!
If she used her position to get someone fired, we need to know that now for that will tell us what kind of a leader she will be at the national and international level. By the way, those who keep telling us that "she has an executive experience" need to know that they sid the same thing about Bush. Executive experience as a governor does not give one the needed foreign experience to deal with other countries; it gives one the small corp feeling that they can and should get their way at the national and international stage as they did at the state level. It can be very bad for international and national reputation.
Andrew.

john berkhoudt   September 7th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

LET HER SPEAK……

Why are they hiding her behind McCain's skirt ????

What would the right be saying if Obama's VP choice was barred from the public so he/she could first "cram" for her coming out party and public examination?

How some people are buying the spin from McCain is startling and scary, yet not surprising.

Has Fox and crew, or anyone else for that matter, asked Mr. so-called "Straight Talk", why he and his campaign said Palin was vetted by the FBI when they KNEW she wasn't? Or "Straight Talk" still saying she sold that plane on E-Bay and made a profit??

We can't ask him tough questions because he was a POW and we can't ask her any because she's a woman, and the press would be accused of "piling on"?!

Putting her on the ticket is so blatently gender-use/abuse, and gambling with the country's potential future, that we should learn, again, about marericks who shoot from the hip and have "gut" feelings…..

Silky Terrier K   September 7th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

She used her position and power for a personal matter. The FBI for a Republican in power party converged on Alaska in an effort to defuse the situation. It is a power play and an ugly one. Remembber the GOP campaign manager said on Morning Joe "they will do anything necessaty to win the campaign" and they will. The GOP is corrupt and powerful.

Political games again, and we know how these games are played. Look at the furor between Hillary and Obama and now they are hugging and touting how united they are. Amazing all the conspiracy flaps going on about Gov Palin. Apparently, not enough people have checked out JibJab and all the promises that goes on every four years. It's hard to take politics seriously anymore.

Is anyone surprised? I mean really, come on people the Rethuglicans are pros at this and the conservative press lets them get away with it all of the time. The Rethugs have mastered the style of soap opera politics. You know, a story line that everybody knows is BS but you watch it anyway because you want to beleieve it could really be true and are amused by it. They do it every election and are going to continue to use it until they buffalo everyone just like 04.

Rethuglicans=endless war/endless debt/low paying jobs/no health care/no decent education

Democrats=end of Iraq war/better fiscal policies/good paying jobs/health care for all/education for all/

You do the math, lets all vote straight Democratic ticket and get rid of all of the Rethuglicans possible. That is the change America needs.

I believe this case will unleash some of the skeletons in
Sarah Palin's closet. She is a candidate for the 2nd highest
position in this Country, how dare she be off limits in any way.
I also find it highly unlikely that modern women find her
appealing. She sets Women's rights backwards with
her extreme views. The Polls says the race is close,
I highly doubt that. Who are they Polling. Sarah Palin
may appeal to some women who are past child bearing
age, but I know that Hillary Supporters like myself
will not vote for her. Hillary's a modern women she
believes in Women's rights and a women's right to
choose what is best for her body. No way , no how
to McCain-Palin.

ok now it looks like they will not be able to make a decision on Sarah Palin until near the election. Which would be bad for the Republicans if they find out Sarah did use her power to bully.

My opinion on Sarah judement ,

Should have stayed out of her sister's affairs from the beginning when you are in government and just forward advice and hired her sister a better attorney. Now she is being attacked. Just goes to show you

Judgement is important

Oh by the way before Sarah Palin came on the scene in Alaska they had a zero deficit and now they are are 21 million in debt.

Max   September 7th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

I have a feeling that McCain may have been blackmailed into choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate. Either to cover some scandal that could permanently damage his political career, or to pay for some service done or yet to be done by her. When you see how He chooses her, a VIP, (Very Inexperience Politician) among many other candidates far more qualified for the job, more popular, more respected, and with less skeletons in their closets, you are left to question McCain's credibility, jugment, and competence to be president. We don't really mind Palin as his VP as long as he promises to outlive his presidential term. But McCain "oldness" and unstable health condition do not garantee it. So, people before you elect a candidate just because you don't like his opponent because he is poor or black, think about the risk and damages you may cause to your country. This is only an advise, because you will reap what you intend to sow.

Don't do or say anything bad about Palin…..Republicans will cry sexist. If she wants to run, she has to put herself out there just like anyone else.

Have you noticed how the Maverick McCain is now silent while Palin is the GOPs attack dog. They are using her for to point fingers and daring anyone to attack her back so they can claim sexism…..more Carl Rove politics and more of the same divisive politics that we have dealt with over the past 8 years.

**Please post CNN!!***

I can hardly blame anyone for steering the direction of this campaign toward the truth. Palin won't come out and defend herself without a script. She's answered nobody's questions, done no interviews. For instance, wouldn't people be surprised to hear that she allegedly said, in response to Obama winning the democratic primary, "So, Sambo beat the b****." Do we really want someone for our first woman in high office (which is incredibly important because it means knocking down one of those last major barriers for women), who is herself apparently sexist and racist.

Cynt   September 7th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

Now that we’re in the eye of hurricane Sarah…and the winds have died down a bit, let me see if I get this straight:

The red herring (in lipstick) comes out dishing blows and amphibolies against someone whom she’s not had the privilege of meeting (the “real” change agent); committing crimes of omission (to outright lies), then presents a straw man/woman (who shall remain nameless), and hides behind a “cone of silence” (BLAME THE MEDIA), whilst cramming for a False Cause. The VP Mominee is on a very slippery slope!

BTM-MA! This fallacy rests solely on the shoulders of the P.O. Dubya and his cunning GOPhers. And I’ll betcha McCane has stocked the Straight Talk Express with enough Old Spice to kill a moose…to splash on before every campaign hop!

Wake up America; remove the blinders from your eyes and smell the moose stew, as the Straight Talk Express just blew out a tire on the right-rear…

The “winds of change” ~ there-a- comin’…

We supposedly still have a democracy in this country and as citizens we have the right to be informed about poitical candidates and where they stand on issues facing this country.
Ms. Palin and her handlers evade the press, so that we remain ignorant of her views to our peril. Please, CNN and other media force the GOP to let reporters talk to her and interview her so that we may learn where she stands before it is too late.

Ron L   September 7th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

This is more stirring of the pot and basically trying to prejudice people against the decision just in case she loses…America Wake up..Lets Just let the process continue…

Ian MacIsaac   September 7th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

Why is it that every time someone questions Sarah Palin they're liberal elitists playing politics? Christ!

cmitch FW, TX for Clinton, Obama-Biden08   September 7th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

MCCain-Palin, the original movie the dead zone; remember the guy running for president in that movie and his future was reveal by a hand shake. These two are time bombs waiting to exploded

Andrew   September 7th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Isn't this the guy who tasered his ten year old?

I can't even imagine what kind of employee he was…..

Cupper   September 7th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Why won't she answer any quetions?

According to Nicole Wallace of the McCain campaign, the American people don't care whether Sarah Palin can answer specific questions about foreign and domestic policy. According to Wallace — in an appearance Joe Scarborough's show — the American people will learn all they need to know (and all they deserve to know) from Palin's scripted speeches and choreographed appearances on the campaign trail and in campaign ads.

I thought she was applying for the job as VP?

Why can't we ask her any questions?

VERY strange. Very unsettling

Rheem   September 7th, 2008 11:18 am ET

My question is why CNN and all the other news stations aren’t demanding that Sarah Palin make herself available to the press. It is shameful that the Republican Party touts that she is ready to lead this Nation but locks her away so that she may cram. The issues that face this Nation isn't something you can learn overnight. If Sarah Palin wants to be Vice President she will belongs and answers to the people. Sarah Palin and the Republican parties willingness to hide tells me that she is not able to run on her own ideals and is in desperate need of being spoon fed by speech writers and teleprompters.

Chris   September 7th, 2008 11:17 am ET

It's not the lawmaker that's damaging Sarah Palin. It's Sarah Palin,
who's damaging Sarah Palin.

Sheila   September 7th, 2008 11:16 am ET

Mccain talks about how republicans abused their power in Washington by some of them going corrupt. What about Governor Palin? To fire the public official for doing his job is an abuse of power! The evidence is that the Governor's husband called the public official as well as her other relatives! What is a governor's husband doing pressuring a public official! Is this how you clean up Washington?

mary   September 7th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Palin need to shut up and go home and stay there .She,s running around running her mouth about she wants to say and no one is suppose to question her nor respond to what she say,s. she should talk to the media as they has requested and answer to questions they like to ask .this way .she can set the record straight . OPRA,S show is not the place to let people know who she is. Opra do not her any more than the rest of us do. So come on people if sara is ready to talk tell her to talk to the media so we can get to know her.

whiteboy for obama   September 7th, 2008 11:07 am ET

care to do a town hall soon, john mccain? sarah palin? reckon there'd be any questions on 'issues'?

Anonymous   September 7th, 2008 11:06 am ET

I've voted dem and republican in the past but I will never forgive the GOP if they start tampering with this investigation by trying to overthrow it with one of their own.

I have serious reservations about Sarah Palin and it seems to me shes being treated with serious kid gloves.

Sincerely,

A concerned Independent voter and a woman who can think for herself.

ashley   September 7th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Wow. Isnt this amazing coming from people who refuse to believe anything wrong that Obama has done! Amazing how this hypocracy extends. Well, as a Clinton suppoter we all know what happened to him once he fell from grace and enventually the media wont be able to shelter Barack much longer.

Scott Tucson   September 7th, 2008 11:05 am ET

Just your typical democratic dirty politics at work, guess the Dems are really scared of Palin and of losing the election.

Hypocrisy is the name of the game   September 7th, 2008 10:52 am ET

How about that a Republican is protesting an investigation against one of it's own member? This is one more reason why Democrats should keep the pressure on Palin to be deposed. She was the first to say she had nothing to hide…………….now , McCain does not want Palin to give testimony or give interviews…WAKE UP PEOPLE….In every McCain rally Democrats should show up and ask when will Palin aswer questions about TROOPERGATE, FOREIGN POLICY, ECONOMY, LOBBYIST, EARMARKS, BRIDGE TO NOWHERE….etc.

Debby   September 7th, 2008 10:52 am ET

What a joke this investigation this trooper should be in the slammer not giving interviews with CNN. The chief should have been fired for not dumping this loser who took an oath of office to protect and who cares who made the call doing it.

D.Bradshaw   September 7th, 2008 10:51 am ET

LOL ! ROFLOL ! OK, so now we know why MCCain sent those 12 laywers to Alaska, to SHUT UP anyone against Palin ! NOT, I repeat, NOT going to work this time McCain ! so whats your next trick ? you have already stolen Obama's change platform, stolen his flags, got your own "rock star" to STEAL Obamas thunder, hmmm, whats next..? give you credit though, your strategy of distracting people from the REAL issues seems to be working with "some" people..NOT this white independant voter, voting for the half white - half black man OBAMA..Hang tough Obama, your going to make it..now, off to make a contributation to the OBAMA campaign..LOL
white independant voter

swanspirit   September 7th, 2008 10:44 am ET

Tthe Palins do NOT want to have this "trooper" to have custody of the child He has had four wives… tasered his own stepson "by accident " among other things . He threatened to shoot Sarahs father in front of witnesses ( which he now conveniently denies ); he was caught drinking alcohol on the job; killed a moose outside of hunting season and then claimed he "did not know the law" … There are more … many many reasons why the Palins do not want this man to have custody of her sisters child ….

Filipina   September 7th, 2008 10:44 am ET

Pitbull with lipstick is guilty as hell, over used of her power shame on you. I don't want you as my VP,,,,,nothing come out from your mouth that is true.

Obama/Biden

pan   September 7th, 2008 10:43 am ET

since when does a governors spouse and staff try to tell a state official how to handle an internal police dept matter?
like todd palin and sarahs staffers did and why did she step out of the bounds in what was obviously a personal getcha on behalf of her sister.
like something out of a bad highschool drama.
all 25 or so e-mail contacts saying she didn't understand why wooten was still representing the dept and the taped phone call it is plain to me she was exerting pressure to have wooten fired, as it would be to any sober individual.
I could never imagine maria shriver trying to interfer in state dept affairs the way todd palin did.

OT   September 7th, 2008 10:42 am ET

Corruption. Ethics charges. Investigations. Sound familiar??? Of course it does. Sarah Palin is George W Bush in a skirt. Republicans hand picked her because she is NO DIFFERENT THAN GEORGE W BUSH. Hello??? America is sick of Bush and we're not falling for this gimmick.

facts are facts   September 7th, 2008 10:41 am ET

The probe was in place before Dobson and Perkins selected Palin to carry their extemist views to the world. What are the accusing the National Enquirer of doing that they didn't do with John Edwards and the GOP loved this at the time. Now the tables are turned and the Enquirer will soon expose little miss goody two screws to the world they'll be sure to say she is forgiven because she is a woman of God.

ANY BETS ON THIS ONE.

Yinka Lawal   September 7th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Why are they affraid of the revelation, we need to know the truth.

beevee   September 7th, 2008 10:40 am ET

The more I read about Palin's political life the less I like her.

Xango 08 & 12   September 7th, 2008 10:40 am ET

that is right, Mr. French, we will support you , the people of the US will be grateful if you can be independent in this mess but becareful, they will do whatever it takes to keep the secrets from the public
and the truth from the american people

I am sure something will "happened," that the investigation will be moved to 3 years later, like bill and hillary's …………..politicians
dirty dirty dirty

lies lies lies
bribes bribes

al phillips   September 7th, 2008 10:39 am ET

DRIP DRIP DRIP

Rodger   September 7th, 2008 10:39 am ET

She made her bed, now she has to sleep in it!

Tom   September 7th, 2008 10:37 am ET

Oh please. The committee that voted to investigate her has 8 Republicans and 4 Democrats. The political garbage going on up there is from McCain's campaign, sending out-of-town lawyers to try to gum up the works so the truth doesn't come out. But it's already apparent that Palin abused her office and is now lying about it. To paraphrase McCain himself, "That's not reform you can believe in!"

inuk from the northbluedog67@hotmail.com   September 7th, 2008 10:37 am ET

State trooper Wooten:

tasered his ten-year-old

threatened his father-in-law

was married and divorced four times by age 35

was caught drinking in his patrol vehicle

illegally shot a moose

The real investigation should be why Sarah Palin COULDN'T get him fired!

David   September 7th, 2008 10:37 am ET

Yeah, that's right McCain. You and Sar ahPalin attack the investigators. Just like your boss Karl Rove did in attacking the prosecutor in the Valerie Plame case. Just like you've tried to do in attacking the media for having the temerity to question the selection of Sar ahPalin.

We will not be silenced. You can't "maverick" your way out of this one. Not this time.

True American   September 7th, 2008 10:33 am ET

Typical Republicans to twist and invent the truth. This investigation was on going before anyone outside of Alaska knew who she was…now it's politically motivated. Whiners and evaders!
