Biden jokes about Palin's sharpshooting

Biden Joked about Palin's sharpshooting Monday.
Biden Joked about Palin's sharpshooting Monday.

KALISPELL, Montana (CNN) – Joe Biden joked Sunday that GOP nominee Sarah Palin should be held to the same standard as other candidates for the White House—except in one area where she’s clearly got the edge. “It's not whether Sarah Palin can aim an assault rifle and hit dead target - which she probably can, and I hope it's not me,” he joked at a campaign event in Montana.

Palin’s speech to the Republican National Convention was peppered with references to her rural Alaskan upbringing, including time spent fishing and snowmobiling.

But Biden said she needed to talk more about issues. At a media availability, Biden cited Palin’s noticeable absence from the Sunday morning talk shows earlier that day. Biden, Barack Obama and John McCain all gave sit-down interviews.

Biden said Palin should do the same.

“Somewhere along the line…she will start to stand before the nation and the public and you know, determine whether or not her views, her breadth of knowledge, her record, is one that people say ‘yeah I want that person as vice president, a heartbeat away from being president,’” Biden said.

He also disagreed with pundits who say he’ll have to approach with caution the upcoming vice presidential debate, saying “they’re in a time warp.” Biden and Palin will meet on October 2 at Washington University in St. Louis.

“It seems like the only people in the room that think that debating a woman is going to be fundamentally different are people who don’t hang around with smart women,” Biden said. “I mean, you know, the idea that I’ve not debated tough, smart women. Come to the Senate man. Take on Barbara Mikulski. Take on Olympia Snowe. You know, take on Dianne Feinstein. Take on Barbara Boxer. Take on you know, the list goes on.”

Biden is trying to say he will be the underdog at the debate because he doesn't debate very well. He's had 25+ years in debating with the big dogs in DC, so why is he trying to pull off this underdog act? Because he already knows he's going to lose the debate so he's trying to ease the pain.

No substance in her speech and the McCain campaign won't even let her out by herself! Reason being the teleprompters won't be there and she will have to think for herself.

The reporters better not ask her what the VP of the US does because she herself said she doesn't know.

Biden should not have to go easy on her...she is skilled make-believe politician. She is definitely not off limits...she sure know how to throw a punch and I really dislike when people call this sexism. WHO cares we are fighting for the White House and we are going to have to minimize her affect on undecided voters. I just think she is going to wash away in about a couple of weeks and we will focus on the issues and not the style...we need some substance...I don't care what she looks like and her sarcasm should be a turn off to every American.

The Republicans think 99.9% of all americans are stupid and too ignorant to get the facts, do the research required before making the biggest decisions of their lives.

That is one thing the reublicans have always had on their side.

    Apathetic america!

Love Biden....he has got this right....sexism is really NOT going
after a VP candidate because she IS a women.
Wasn't it Hillary Clintron that quoted Truman in her campaign,
"If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

She didn't say..."Don't pick on me because all the stay at home moms won't like you"....but she did saym "I am a pit bull with lipstick", and that's OK...I am a woman.

A Mom of 5, Grandmother of 4 ...and we all think Biden is our best chance out of this GOP econmic diaster

MCCAIN SAID THREE REMARKABLE THINGS ABOUT HIMSELF AND HIS JUDGEMENT AND EX.PERIENCE:
    1. HE WAS FOR THE "SURGE" TO PUT MORE TROOPS IN IRAQ AND IT WORKED. HE STAKED HIS POLITICAL CAREER ON IT.
    2. HE WAS FOR MORE OIL AND GAS DRILLING AND OTHER
ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES WHEN OBAMA WAS AGAINST IT.
    3. HE MADE THE RIGHT JUDGEMENT IN CHOOSING GOVERNOR
SARAH PALIN AS HIS VP. BOTH OF THEM ARE MAVERICKS IN ADDITION TO REFORMERS.
IT IS NO WONDER THEN THAT MCCAIN IS NOW LEADING OBAMA IN THE POLLS.

Go get her Joe, if she wants to play with the big boys, she has to take it like a big boy. Wouldn't we all love to see what Hilliary would do to her in a debate!!! This woman is a disgrace to all women who actually take the time to read and listen.

I hate to be the one to break the news to the Dems but they need to look around and start realizing the race is all but over. It truly is laughable to see the left, Obama and Biden tucking tail and just wishing they could run and hide. Go McCain-Palin!!!

I smell fear among the democrats?

Obama should have swallowed his pride and picked Hillary. If he can't get that decision right than how can we expect him to deal with real national and world problems?

If Hillary thinks by minimally campaigning and not taking on Palin that she still stands a chance in 2012.....she is dead wrong. Her only chance is to replace Biden in 2012 is as VP. Certainly she of all people has to realize that the Black vote would not come out and vote in 2012 if Obama loses due to a percieved lack of involvement by either Hillary or Bill. I still blame her for Bush's election in 2000 when she and Bill essentially failed to campaign for Gore.

Looks to me like she plays rough with the boys and can handle a real talk. If she can cut up a moose, she should be able to debate.

Joe – do what you do best – tell us what you've done, challenge her to tell us what she has done. If all she can do is wave a flag, her church, her children, her lipstick, and her lies – the public will thank you for it.

The US lives in the land of TV where everything is served on an easy to understand platter. It does not matter if it is a lie. If it is easy, the public will go for it because they don't have to think.

America is full of very stupid people. That is a fact.

In the meantime we will see many of those flashy, easy to believe, big statement, big emotion, no plan ads.

We will have many ads to endure before we get to hear her speak for herself, or at least away from a script or a screen to read from.

Think for yourselves, America. Read a newspaper, look up some facts, if you believe everything you see on TV, you'll never believe the mess you'll be in for the next four years.
