(CNN) - Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin are out with a new television ad Monday, declaring themselves the "original mavericks."
The 30-second spot, set to air in key states, says McCain and Palin will "make history" and "change Washington."
"He fights pork barrel spending," the ad's narrator states. "She stopped the Bridge to Nowhere. He took on the drug industry. She took on big oil."
Palin's statement claiming to have opposed the now-infamous "Bridge to Nowhere" has been disputed by opponents who note she supported the major earmark when she campaigned for governor of Alaska in 2006. According to the non-partisan factcheck.org, Palin didn't oppose the project until Congress had already nixed it.

Obama must be crying his eyes out at bedtime. He must really hate himself now. He made a tactical and strategic blunder by not picking Hillary Clinton as his running mate. He allowed his personal hatred, distrust and suspicious of the Clintons to cloud his judgment. He knew or should have known that Hillary was the way – the only way – for him to achieve his presidential ambition. What does Senator Biden bring to the table? Foreign policy expertise. And what does Hillary bring to the table? Domestic and policy expertise, 20 million voters, grit and brilliance, and much more. I am a Democrat, but for this election, I am voting McCain-Palin. In order word, I am a McCain-Democrat!
So it takes a year and some months to get to know Barack Obama, and people still don't trust him.
Yet it takes a week and one speech to know Sarah Palin. And they trust her.
Now, why is that? I think we all know the answer.
America's going to be duped, yet again, into another four years of misery. People are buying it like they did in 2004!

It wasn't long ago McCain's campaign was mocking Barack Obama and calling him a rock star and or/celebrty but now it's OK to parade Sarah Palin around. THEY MUST TRULY BELEIVE WE ARE STUPID.
I don't know why people are failing to see through all of this. I love how Palin is a 'new rising star,' because she can read a speech that belittles her opponents. John McCain may have been a maverick at one point in his career, but he has bent over for the Republican party and the evangelicals just to try to win this election. Come on people, this is easy to see.
McCain/Palin will fight to reduce big wasteful government. Obama/Biden will fight to expand it.
Both represent change, only one bucks the trend in maverick style..

McCain is now leading in the polls, so apparently we ARE stupid enough to believe this!
The GOP is pretty shrewd, they know America is too racist to elect Obama and will play up the lies and fear right to the end. And it's working like a charm!

Another Poll shows Obama ahead of McCain the Hotline/FD 09/02 – 09/04 916 RV 40 46 Obama +6.
My bet is that McCains jump or catch up to Obama or even a minor lead will decrease in the weeks ahead .
I checked Real Clear Politics which is one of a few polling sites McCain shows a lead in most of the Polls except this one.
I think McCain/Palin excited the Conservative base during the their convention and the Polling reflects this.
Again understand I believe this is not longterm.
Obama will take off in the Polls during the debates with McCain showing how weak McCain really is.
Biden's debates with Palin will also show how not only she has no experience on Domestic and International affairs but that she comes off like a lets start a war kinda of politican.
So thats my take on all of this.
The republicans are targeting the uneducated Americans in this country much like they did in the past two elections. I don't mean to be so critical (actually I do) but who else would buy manure because it comes in a special package all purty like. How do you get the stupid vote- put a card carrying NRA member who looks cute and tell the stupids of America she is just like them. Has anyone seen the picture of her dressed in her two-piece bathing suit that looks like the American flag while she poses with an M-I6? Duh-huh.
Palin is such an "original maverick" that she has to be kept hidden away. Has anyone ever seen such behavior in a presidential campaign? Is she that unprepared? And are we going to be stupid again?

Obama has been releasing many ads but you guys barely mention them. Instead, you show full segments of Obama's ads.

John McCain and Sarah Palin is the best thing to happen to the republicans party since Ronald Reagan. Just like Hillary Clinton on the democratic ticket would have been the best thing to happen the the democrats since Bill Clinton. The DNC should have supported Hillary. Another lost opportunity for the democrats.

Probability of winning equal? Check the electoral map and see it will take a miracle for McCain to win. All Obama has to do is win Penn. and Michigan and it's over. So you can look at your GOP polls all you want, but the real political analyst know McCain is toast. And Obama is only down 4 to McCain in......wait for it, wait for it........Arizona! Picture this – The Wasila Public Library devoid of books Sarah Palin wanted to ban and replaced with 2 books – the Bible and her biography.
Sen. Obama recently said the following, after attempting to portray both McCain and Palin as Bush lookalikes, "That's not change. Come on! I mean, words mean something, you can't just make stuff up."
