New ad declares McCain-Palin 'original mavericks'

The McCain campaign is out with a new ad Monday.

(CNN) - Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin are out with a new television ad Monday, declaring themselves the "original mavericks."

The 30-second spot, set to air in key states, says McCain and Palin will "make history" and "change Washington."

"He fights pork barrel spending," the ad's narrator states. "She stopped the Bridge to Nowhere. He took on the drug industry. She took on big oil."

Palin's statement claiming to have opposed the now-infamous "Bridge to Nowhere" has been disputed by opponents who note she supported the major earmark when she campaigned for governor of Alaska in 2006. According to the non-partisan factcheck.org, Palin didn't oppose the project until Congress had already nixed it.

lol... how can this be the change ticket when palin is more george bush than mccain...

she's trying to challenge the authoritty of those investigating her... i mean.... does the us really want another four years of this system manipulation.

gas went up $1.50 in texas and now, on an election year it's constantly dropping and the sheeples are actually too dumb to recognize they were paying 2.90 last year and 3.50 this year . yet the economy is doing better to most because they're "saving" on gas....

    what a world with amnesia!!

McCain brings the same tired speech and his bio, we gave him props for being a hero now that is old and worn out.

This is her trial run the Republican want to stir you all up so no matter who wins this time she will be in place to knock off Hilliary...Hilliary supporters are sticking a knife in Hilliaries back!!!

    Talk about flip-flop..

Yeah, right and I've got some land for you. Since when does a "maverick" attempt to get a state trooper fired, fibs about selling a government jet on Ebay, gets huge earmarks for her town after hiring a lobbyist. That's just Palin.

Yup, yup, McCain's a great Maverick too. He's been in Washington so long that his campaign is even run by lobbyists. What about the "Keating Five", 7, 8 or 9 houses, Cindy's $300,000 outfit for the RNC, private plane and more. If the McCain family knows about the average American and the trials they face they must have read about it in a book.

Give us break, Schmidt! How dumb do you think we are?

Obama stay firm, and hit them with a dosh of economics, Iraq war and the cost of that war, and McCain says he is a fiscal conservative, I don't think so.
FANNIE and FREDDIE. Drip the point until the voters, appeal to their instinct of living, remind them that McCain is a hard nose conservative, who will do nothing for our economy, but weaken it more then it is now.. This is the man that voted against the MLK King bill???? Remember! He's no maverick, he is an illusionist and a joke with his travelling sideshow. Who's the celebrity??

This election is not about the economy. If it was, it would be Obama in a landslide. McCain has voted against laws that would have helped hardworking low income families for decades and now he's asking us to forgive and forget. I haven't forget how I had to work for minimum wage $4.75 back in the 80's & 90's and had to watch people like McCain vote against a minimum wage hike time and time again.

This election is about having a woman in the whitehouse. And this woman is the worst one of them all. Instead of having her underage pregnant daughter focus on getting back to school and getting her education she has her focusing on getting married to her underage boyfriend. Palin also has questionable religious beliefs yet people like her because she's attractive and speaks well which is a shallow minded reason to vote for her.

It wasn't too long ago I heard people say they were voting for change over experience on the democratic side. Now those same people are saying that Palin isn't experienced enough. And the sexist comments are coming at her just like they did with Hillary Clinton. BTW, Obama repeatedly stated he was a "professor" which was technically not true. All these politicians parse their words to put on the best face possible to get the most most. And many of us are not supporting Obama because he has never explained why he was a member for 20 years where hated and racism was preached - not because Obama is black!

obama has repackaged the same old democrat platform – that's not change. If we wanted to sing kum-bay-yah as the world grows around us, we would have elected Teddy, Dukakis, Gore, or Kerry.

he took millions from big oil.
she took a power trip in trooper-gate.

I have also heard reports that she took the money for the Bridge to Nowhere and spent it on other projects in Alaska. And, she was known for requesting earmarks. I am really amazed that they are able to get away with such blatant falsities. All politicians "spin" to their advantage, but these are out-and-out lies. I sure hope the voters don't fall for it.

As I feared, many American voters do not have discernment and vote CHEAP and GAUDY – all show and no character candidates. An old warmonger and a NASTY woman for the White House??? God help us all!!! If these TWO PATHETIC CREATURES are elected, then America will get exactly what it deserves!

  16. Palin=Bush/Cheney in Drag

I'm glad they're dumb enough to run this ad. It gives the Obama campaign an opening to run a counter ad to show the Dumbed Down Americans that gave us 8 years of Bush just how much of a phoney Sarah Palin is. Are there still that many racists in this country who would rather watch the further decline of America rather than elect a man who isn't white to office? The Republican Party makes me ashamed to call myself an American.

  17. Cheer

Gov. Palin was pregnant with her first child BEFORE she married her husband. Same situation as her daughter. How can this woman be a staunch abstinence supporter when she DID NOT practice it!! America, please don't be duped AGAIN by the smoke and mirrors ... research for the truth; then, base your position on facts not emotions and/or traditions.

Where is the media coverage on this????

It is amazing that America falls for the same Bait and Switch every time. The Repugs know just the right switch to pull and America falls for it everytime. What does that say about our country. We do the same stupid thing everytime and then complain idiots for the next four years.

Anyone who thinks a McCain Palin win will be a change of any kind is so, so, sorely mistaken.
We've got a former military man who likes to sing about bombing things and a major mouthpiece for the oil companies in Palin.
So more war and more oil profits.
    Sounds great huh?
