Obama calls McCain-Palin 'No Maverick' in new ad

Obama's campaign released a new ad today.

Obama's campaign released a new ad today.

CNN - Barack Obama’s campaign responded to the McCain-Palin team’s new ad touting the Alaska governor’s opposition to the Bridge to Nowhere with a spot released Monday afternoon that attacks the Republican VP nominee by name for the first time.

“They call themselves mavericks. Whoa,” says the announcer in the 30-second spot. “The truth is, they’re anything but.

“John McCain is hardly a maverick when seven of his top campaign advisers are Washington lobbyists. He’s no maverick when he votes with Bush 90 percent of the time. And Sarah Palin’s no maverick either. She was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it.

“Politicians lying about their records? You don’t call that maverick. You call it more of the same.”

The ad, which will air in battleground states, echoes the language of Obama’s own campaign trail attacks against the GOP ticket Monday.

“John McCain says that he is going to tell all those lobbyists in Washington that their days of running Washington are over,” Obama said at a Michigan campaign stop. “So who is it that he’s going to tell? Is he going to tell his campaign chairman? Is he going to tell his campaign manager? I mean, these are folks who have represented every major corporate interest…”

McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds said that there are no registered lobbyists currently on the payroll, “and Barack Obama knows it.”

A new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll found those surveyed give the Democratic nominee the edge when it comes to which candidate is the “real reformer” – but McCain has narrowed Obama’s advantage on “change” from 18 to 8 percent.

McCain want to become an agent of change at age 72, after 27 years in Washington?

You cannot not teach an old Mc72 new tricks!

You want to improve and change your company. Then you will never hire the 72 old guy as your change agent but you will choose the dynamic, hard working 47 years old guy. Why your country doesn´t matter as much as your company ?

  3. Does Obama Palin Comparison?

Take the focus all of all of Obama's negativity, and put it somewhere that really matters...on kids with special needs. They deserve a strong advocate like Sarah Palin in Washington! 🙂

You go Obama! Don't let them swiftboat you! The rethuglicans have proved they will do anything to win and mccain should be ashamed of himself putting this ghetto fabulous huntress who is crushingly inexperienced at best on his ticket. She actually said that the war in Iraq was God's will. But I wished you would have called sarah exactly what she is – a LIAR! She stood in front of the nation at the RNC and lied continuously. She is a maverick, a maverick LIAR!

Palin finally meets the press - or at least one of them: As mentioned above, Palin will sit down with ABC later this week for her first big interview with the national media. ABC will give Palin softball questions and make sure she looks good.

This women is such a coward she well not answer any tough questions from the media she hides behind McCains coat tails. She is not tough enough to face the media she is a coward pure and simple.

She even shoots big game like mooses from a helecopter how sporting is that. Why does she just drop Napalm on women and children like McWar did during the Vietnam war.

I am so disapointed that the MSM has not called her out and have her go toe to toe with the MSM. She is such a chicken, coward and should not be in this election.

I respect Hillary she will stand up for herself, I respect all the other political women who answer tough questions everyday. Even Mrs, Obama will stand up to the media this women is a coward 1st and foremost.

Why is our government afraid of leaving Iraq? They have mentioned that they are afraid that the Shiites government may befriend Iran.

My thought is that we should leave Iraq but we should implement policies to ban the Shiites from ever merging with Iran for the next 100 years. If they merge, we will come back.

In addition, we should also add policies to allow us to bomb inside of Iraq, anywhere, any time in areas, polluted with Al Qaeda activities.

This should help us leave Iraq with less fear.

I've always though of a maverick as a somewhat reckless rebel.

Not white house material – not international policy material.

    No more wars.

I'm so glad to see Sen. Obama fighting back. I still don't understand how one good speech delivered, makes Palin experienced. This race is about race. I will be so ashamed of our country if Sen. Obama doesn't win, because it will be because he isn't white enough.

GREAT, keep pounding this "pitt bull" with her own words. She doesn't even begin to know whose she's dealing with. McCain is terrified to put Sarah Palin out there on her own AND I see why. She made a BIG GAFFE today while talking about the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac news story and ALL MAJOR economist quickly pointed out that she lack accuracy in her statements and was very inexperience in her knowledge of the mortgage crisis as it relates too the economy!!!

Obama should add a "McCain/Palin Lie of the Day" page to his web site and make sure to call attention to the lies every time he gives a speech or holds a town hall meeting.

You know we paid with our BLOOD and Bank Account to free Iraq. We should have the right to burn policies, banning any merge with Iran and banning any Al Qaeda activities within the country.

This will only be fair to us.

It's very apparent that people have forgotten that this is a Presidental race and not a race about who is Vice. Once the dust settles, if McCain and Palin get elected, you will never see her. McCain will have her hid away in some office. She takes too much of the spot light off him and this will not work for his ego.

Today is a sad day. I see my candidate having to respond to the other opponets VP. It took me some time to warm up and get on the Obama bandwagon, but I am about to jump off. Obama promised us change...but he continues to play in the dirt with McCain. He is accusing Sarah Palin of changing her position, but seems to not want to talk about all the issues that he has adjusted to make him the nominee. The Obama camp is coming off as hypocritical and flaming the fires. This all happened when McCain chose Palin. If Obama wants to keep my vote...he needs to be honest..lay off Palin..and tell us again what he will do to fix our problems. Obama made his first mistake by not choosing Hillary and making many he is looking desperate...against another women... The media is also a problem..

McCain has temper control and anger management problems. Giving such an unstable man control of America's nuclear arsenal and nuclear launch codes is just too risky. Giving this kind of control to Palin is even riskier.

Sure Obama has lobbyists on his team, but if you look at it, his campaign has been RESURRECTED by the zillions of Americans that want change.

Obama will serve The People. McCain, will serve, the few, the proud the Lobbyists.

Mcain has hired the same Karl Rove,Schimit,Rick Davies and all other G Bush lobbyist who brought this country to its knees! As a matter of fact,he wanted to pick Joe Lieberman for #2 but Karl Rove personally called in to lobby for Sara Palin. These lies will lead us to more wars esp with Iran and Russia. Remember Mcain/Davies connection with Georgia! Mcain can never bring change in Washington under the same party that lead this country to its knees.Hillary was very right today......they want to cover their mess! NO MORE REPUBLICAN....ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.................GO OBAMA/BIDEN 08.
