Track Palin is supposed to deploy to Iraq on Thursday .

(CNN) - A liberal veterans group called Monday for an official investigation into media discussion of Track Palin’s deployment to Iraq — prompting a Defense Department response that there had been no irregularities involved, and would be no investigation.

“Numerous outlets have reported the date and location of Palin's deployment, which compromises operational security,” said Vote Vets in a statement. “The source of the leaks would be acting in violation of the law, and putting troops at unnecessary risk, and could be prosecuted.”

But the kind of information the group is referring to is typically publicly released by the Defense Department well in advance of a unit’s deployment. And the date of Palin’s upcoming deployment has been referred to numerous times by his mother, Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, on the campaign trail.

"There is no violation of operational security,” said Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman. “DoD tells the public when we rotate a brigade into Iraq or Afghanistan."

There was no word from the Pentagon on whether there had been any requests for special consideration in Track Palin’s case. Earlier this year, John McCain asked the media not to report the precise date and time his son Jack would be returning from Iraq until he was back in the United States, a request that was honored by all major news organizations.

I was an undecided. No I am for Obama. I can believe that anybody in their right mind will vote republican just because they have a woman in the VP post. I think the issues speak for themselves. Michigan has been hit very badly with unemployment and health care issues which cannot be ignored just because of gender. There are 7 votes in my family. Five of them are unemployed. Only my husband is working for now but scheduled to lose his job in October. Losing our home and everything else.

Carmen   September 8th, 2008 5:44 pm ET

Palin son should not have been given special treatment for being in the army and going to war. Wow how much will the Republican go to bat for this beauty queen of McCain. I wouldn't be surprise if McCain don't have his finger in the Republican Party to sweep her into the White House without a problem. Look guys that is McCain new gal. Cindy you are out now honey. Get over it.

Independents4Palin   September 8th, 2008 5:42 pm ET

hmmm....seems like all those people who thought Obama was a 'slam dunk' as a presidential candidate are gettting a little nervous – looks like the ball bounced off the rim instead of going in! Seem Sen Obama should have put his personal feelings aside about not sharing the spotlight with Sen Clinton and put her on the ticket (although I would have preferred seeing Sen Clinton's name at the top of that ballot!).

What a sad display of desperate Democratic tactics. I also see we are now at the point of democrats calling republicans liars. So did Obama lie to his own democratic supporters when he told you he would vote against the Fisa bill and then he voted for it? Did Obama lie to all of us when he said JFK brought his father over to study when he didn't? Did Obama lie to you democrats when he appointed Biden VP as an agent of change who has been in the Senate longer than McCain has and garnered poor support in his own run for President? Are now all republican statements going to be labelled as lies while we have to treat lightly and Obama's are still labelled "he mispoke"?

I keep seeing post from the far left that state something like the average American. I would just like to say one thing, stop talking for me I can talk for myself. I do support McCain and will continue to as do most of the people I know. Palin was a breath of fresh air but it did not change the way I will vote. I do thank the far left for their statements and bs since this is only causing those who were on the fence to step on McCain's side as has picking Palin given him a big boost. Guys a couple of weeks ago you were for sure you were going to get the white house and now it is not so sure and the hate starts coming out. Please Please keep it up it helps us on McCains side a lot.

Also I though Obama was runing for president no VP but he is campaing against Palin which is good for us, Thank you so much keep up the good work for McCain.

Proud Army Mom   September 8th, 2008 5:15 pm ET

As the mother of a soldier that is deploying with Gov. Palin's son, I find it reckless and irresponsible that she would disclose any information about their upcoming deployment. Military families go through enough stress when our loved ones are deployed without her adding to it. This is my sons second deployment and he is always careful not to disclose any information with regards to his deployment date or where he is going. As a proud military mom I can understand how pround she is of her son, but at the same we need to be careful when and where we talk about their deployments.

Steve   September 8th, 2008 5:14 pm ET

In all honesty, who cares? Really....

Henry C.T.B.   September 8th, 2008 5:13 pm ET

To GIGI IN LA : Biden's son went to Yale law school. He is getting less than what he would be making in other locations. MBNA is the second largest employer in the state of Del. Why not take a job in your home state?

That is a non-issue.

Katrina   September 8th, 2008 5:12 pm ET

non-issue. let's hammer them with facts, please? I laughed out loud at the McCainies referring to Obama's "1 billion in earmarks." That comes to less than 80 bucks per head in Illinois. By contrast, Palin got more than 4,000 per person just for WASILLA during her tenure. 50 times as much. Spread this.

Enlightened Voter   September 8th, 2008 5:10 pm ET

She is supposed to know not to talk about this type of thing, isn't she? Oh yeah I forgot she hasn't been tutored yet. See that is too scary, she didn't even know something that I, as an average citizen knew and yet some people want her as VP? Very frightening!

Henry C.T.B.   September 8th, 2008 5:10 pm ET

What aggregates the heck out of me is that Palin says "My son signed up on September 11th of last year and this September 11th he will be deployed." What a mockery of a sad patriotic day. She had no idea what day he would be deployed, but doesn’t it sound romantic to tie her son going off to war with the terrible events of 2001.

Has she no shame? Pimping out her son.

What I find ironic is how Palin referred to Hillary as a whiner during the primaries. Who is doing the whining now? If Palin won't outline her views on the issues that are important to the nation, then the press will find a story where they can. That's politics. As a female, I don't think that we can have a double standard. Male politicians lives are examined with a fine tooth comb (including what they do in their most personal moments). When you decide to jump onto the big stage you have to be willing to play ball with the big boys and girls.

You people need to get real and be thankful for all american women and men joining and serving in all branches of the military. Stop making snared remarks about someone's family. I am sure her soon did not have to join the military and I personally resent people making remarks about the military. What would do if we did not have a military? So wise up wise guys and keep your resentful remarks to yourself. These people know the chances they take when going into the military and I pray for them nd their safety and respect all. If you people don't care for the military and strong leaders of our country why don't you just take a one way slow boat some place and park it and stay there. I happen to be proud of all the leaders and military of this country, THE USA.

All our enemies know when and where we are going, the DoD announces deployments, the president has to declare war remember!People! we are already in Iraq! Its no secret. We constantly redeploy there, that is no secret. Find something new to complain about. It's not like Gov. Palin said her son and his unit would be targeting the Oil Refineries in Dirka Dirka, attacking from the north, below enemy radar, at 5 a.m. on 13 Sep 08 (that was a paraphrase from the movie Airplane! so don't get excited).

60 years ago this war would have been over in two years. Grow some Cojones people! Back the troops! At list you aren't on gas rations, metal rations, meat rations, sugar rations, dairy rations, rubber rations, and whatever other ration's there were back when we really knew how to unite as country against a common enemy.

A Fearful Future   September 8th, 2008 4:56 pm ET

I am extremely fearful of the future of my country. Comments from a previous article have people stating that Palin's views are the views of average Americans. I do not agree. I am 25 yrs old and worried about my employment, school loans, buying a home, and having a family. I cannot do most of the latter because I am living like most Americans- paycheck to paycheck. This woman does not understand me, my concerns, and I am even more scared of what she would do if (God Forbid) she became President, let alone VP. Nazism was started by extreme Nationalism, and a hatred for everything that was different. Republicans have been chanting USA in all of their campaigns, which I think says a lot about how they view AMERICANS voting for Obama. A McCain-Palin administration will create extreme divisions in this country. God help us if they get elected. And, if they are- I'll stay overseas.

But McCain has been in Congress for more than 25 years. His party, the Republicans, have controlled the White House or Congress or both since 1980. Another example of how Obama would be a better president. His whole campaign was based around the idea of change. Mccain has been losing in polls for months, now he wants to talk about change. Republicans have absolutely no right to criticize any of these tactics after they ran an entire 2004 campaign on the grounds that John Kerry was somehow unpatriotic for earning a silver star, a bronze star and a purple heart in Vietnam. What a double standard.

This is not saying that these tactics should be condoned by anyone either. But in the realm of the current political atmosphere, they are certainly permissible on precedent. Oh yeah and this isn't the Obama campaign's doing. So stop trying to spin it like this is a reflection on him.

I'm not sure how the Pentagon spokesman can say that this isn't an issue. I'm on a military installation daily and the reader board at both gates specifically mentions OPSEC and watching information revealed in emails or public conversations. LORs and Article 15s are being handed out almost DAILY for speaking openly about deployment dates and locations. Why is it that he gets to operate under a different set of rules? Must be nice to not have to suffer consequences when your mom's a "famous/celebrity" politician!!

Aren't any of you military members and family members concerned that we may have a VP who thinks nothing of announcing troop unit deployment information on national television? This woman proves through her actions that she doesn't even care about the safety of her own son. She sure doesn't care about your family members! The biggest joke of the day is Obama saying he wanted to join the military after high school but the Vietnam War was over so they didn't need him. LMAO....hey Obama you still could have joined you idiot.

There is nothing illegal about saying your son/daughter is being deployed to Iraq/Afghanistan. In fact, the military has ceremonies for family members to say goodbye to their loved ones which are often covered by the media. You don't know exactly where you are being deployed until you get overseas and get your orders. At that point, you are not allowed to divulge any information. Thus, the DOD said nothign wrong occured here. C'mon libs, try to get your facts right for a change.

If Palin wants the media to leave her kids alone, she should not be politicizing their deployments. Track will now be a VIP target. His entire unit will be targets. At least McCain has been wise enough to not use his sons for political posturing.

Palin saw the speech written for her ahead of time. She should have had the wisdom to protect her son and his unit and cut that section of her speech out.

These have been repeated frequently by both McClain & Palin –

I would be more interested in finding out if there's any truth to what I have read about the military choice being made available as a choice for not doing jail time for breaking the law. In my opinion, that needs to be investigated

It is time to bring out all the fact about Palin – Hitler in a dress.

Also, watched CNN this morning and McSane tax package will benefit the rich the most. CNN went over every thing and compared them with Obama tax package. Everybody on both tax packages will see a decrease on their taxes the different is Obama give middle and the poor more decrease on their taxes and McCain give the middle and poor the a very same decrease and give the rich a very high decrease. See it for you self becasue you know CNN will be talking about it tonight. McBush taxes packages benefit the rich the most and this is what we call change. No this is what we call more of the SAME

God bless him for serving our country, but seriously, who has the name "Track"? Never heard of that one before. Good for him that he's a son of the "Annointed One – St. Sarah Palin".

Tired of the Nonsense   September 8th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

Who is Sara Palin –

Before you swing/undecided cast your vote, here is something you better consider –

She was elected Alaska's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has ABSOLUTELY no foreign policy experience.

Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.

She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.

Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.

She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.

She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.

How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.

......and she's still under investigation for abusing her position as governor to get her ex-brother in law fired from his job b/c of a nasty divorce he was involved in with her sister.

With the economic and national security stakes this high....you would think a decision this important would have warranted a little more thought.

Do we really need a candidate who allows her personal views to interfere with her job?????

Gov. Palin's 2002 tax return stated "home maker" as her occupation. Is that true? Nothing wrong with home maker, but her rant about Sen. Obama being a community organizer is not comparable. PS: Obama was a community organizer when he was 23 years old. What was Palin doing when she was 23?

It amazes me how people only read the truths they want to read. Gov. Palin said she put the jet up on Ebay. She did. It didn't sell on Ebay though. It sold through a private sale. And it did create a profit even though it was sold at a loss because the state of Alaska no longer has a jet on their books. They don't have to hire a pilot or have maintenance that could cost a lot of money. Over the long haul, it was a fiscally responsible choice.

White Support for Obama!   September 8th, 2008 4:21 pm ET

My family and I totally support Obama! Why would McCain NOT have checked out Palin more than once or twice before wanting her for his VP?? I hope she and her family and family values are checked out with a fine tooth comb before its TOO late!! She has protrayed herself as being so GOOD? She cannot run her own household and family let alone OUR Country!! Please everyone wake up and lets get Obama in our WHITE HOUSE!! If not it will be the SAME~~ NOT CHANGE!!

I have a niece and nephew in the Marines. Unfortunately I couldn't secure any special treatment for them, as most families with loved ones in the military can't.

However, Palin and McCain won't have that problem.

Dj   September 8th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Truth can be described like this: like oil in water it will soon rise to the surface... for all to see.

When this FARCE is exposed, the republican party will face great humiliation. I hope it lingers until days before the election to eliminate the spin, lies, and damage control that they are so adept at.

"Pride goes before destruction." To my evangelical friends, please tell who wrote these words. I would be SHOCKED if any of you know.

Didine - Maryland   September 8th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Sarah Palin is so stupid that she keeps talking about her son deploiment on the campaign, she does not know that she is exposing her son. Kids should be off limit because of their security. Sarah need to learn to shut her running mouth.

It's funny how things always seem to stay in 'Your comment is awaiting moderation' limbo around here unless it specifically challenges the moderation, the spelling is atrocious, it's replete with hateful left-wing bias, or all of the above.

Marie in Ohio   September 8th, 2008 4:15 pm ET

It saddens me to think that the Republicans think that they own the Copyright on patriotism, but exploit it every chance they get.

I thought it was hilarious that the Republicans mocked Obama's community service years, all the while, the crowd was waiving "Service" signs. I guess in the minds of Republicans, the only form of Service is the military.

Palin makes Democrats Cry   September 8th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

JusLaugh   September 8th, 2008 4:13 pm ET

By the way, you right wingers need to stop acting like "left wing" and "liberal" are bad words if you want to gain the support of independents and democrats. It is very divisive and counterproductive to pretend that one political view is superior to the other.

Leah DiMarco, Texas   September 8th, 2008 4:10 pm ET

Obama has done nothing wrong.

Sarah Palin is the one that was telling everyone in her speeches that Track was leaving for Iraq on September 11th.

At least he didn't decided to try drugs instead like someone else

Patty   September 8th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

How does this violate national security? I've seen deployment ceremonies 100 times on my local news (Phila). They show the soldiers and their families saying goodbye. I also heard that Biden's son would be deployed in the fall. It's pretty difficult to keep that a secret since he's the Attorney General of Delaware. Gee, I wonder how he got that job.

JusLaugh   September 8th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

First of all, it does not surprise me a bit that she would put her son in harm's way for political gain after blatantly exploiting her pregnant teen daughter and then blaming the media.

Second, anyone who really wants to know where Palin stands, go to youtube and check out the latest video of her giving a pretty radical speech. You thought reverend Wright was bad, he has nothing on this chick.

Third, Rove is still running things in the GOP...you know, the guy who outted the CIA agent. He doesn't care who dies because of leaks. He just wants to win.

Todd   September 8th, 2008 4:06 pm ET

Wow! Liberals can't attack with any positions of their own – from their candidates or themselves – so they have to go after kids of the candidates, spouses, etc. I find it refreshing that the independent voters get a chance to see how an Obama/Bieden office would handle those that oppose their views.

Are you kidding   September 8th, 2008 4:05 pm ET

Wow, just about every post I read was either not about the story of the deployment or was dead wrong. An uninformed voice is simply noise. This article should never have been run in the first place because it isn't news. Vote Vet should make sure they have their game on before going public with this type of information. Every major line unit that deploys knows several months in advance their official planned date of deployment. Both Liberal and Conservative groups need to start thinking before wasting our time with garbage that has no meaning.

One of the reasons why Track Palin is being deployed in Iraq is that he vandalized a school bus in 2005 and was given the choice : military or jail. He was then sent to Michigan to train.
Great family !

Good lord. A liberal VETERANS' group actually took the time to look into this? To look into whether or not a fellow soldier is really being deployed? How about wishing him the best and giving him a pat on the back or a handshake as he leaves?

You know, years ago I was a liberal, but I'm independent now, because I can't stomach the hate spewing that many liberal Democrats are capable of. You people make me sick.

McCain is not Bush, you idiots. He's his own man. And Palin may be inexperienced, but certainly not as experienced as Obama, and he's at the top of the ticket.

Once again,

The Obamabots are out in force with their mean, nasty dispositions. You would have thought they would have learned a thing or two from the backlash by the way they treated Senator Hillary Clinton.

Leave this woman alone. Leave her family alone. You people are unbelievable. How ironic. You couldn't stand the fact that Hillary was the better candidate than Obama, and now you can't stand the fact that McCain trumped you by his VP choice. Oh woe is me! Cry me a river. LOL.

Another Ex-Republican for Obama   September 8th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

Him being deployed to Iraq is as close as this joke of a VP candidate has gotten to "foreign policy" experience, or "commander in chief" experience.

Vote Obama '08 then give us moderate Republicans a chance in 2012.

You Did Not!!   September 8th, 2008 3:57 pm ET

Well, gee, what I heard is that Track MAY have been involved in some school bus tampering in Alaska, and military service MAY have been offered in lieu of jail time. Too bad it's a juvie sealed record (if true). Too bad we cant ask Ms. Palin if it's true.

Bruce   September 8th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

It is true that Palin was put on the ticket to distract attention away from real ISSUES tht no one in the McCain Camp wants to have to address. They are just hiding behind the silly lies and never puting out any real information about what their pan i sto maek the BIG CHANGE they prommised. Thye do not have a plan so thye lie about things even when it is so easy to see the lie the fact that the medea gets caught up in telling the lie the people forget what the election is about.

The ELECTION IS ABOUT THE FUTURE AND IT IS ABOUT YOU.

Stop being used by spin doctors and pay attention to how we are going to get out of this mess that BUSH got us into with the help of McCain there will be no change unless we all demand it and vote for Obama

Today   September 8th, 2008 3:56 pm ET

Wow, seriously every time a troop is deployed or is due to come home it is on the local news, so no one is in harms way over this. I second the notion of what happened to Obama's "lay off the family". I find it disheartening that the media has chosen to rip apart everything about this woman to even go back 22 years in her husband's history.
We need to decide on the issues, not this type of hype. The media needs to ask both these candidates some hard questions about their positions on the economy and how to fix it, the war and how to resolve it, health care and how to provide it, the energy problem and how to solve it. As Americans frankly we need answers not hype, not generalities, not rhetoric! We need a balanced budget and a strong economy! We don't need all the Hollywood Hype we need a leader!

dems are silly   September 8th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

Max Mitchell....the reason it sold for 2.1 mill is because that's what the plane was worth. The bozo gov. she replaced BOUGHT it for too much money. It wouldn't sell for the asking price because it was too high. Seeing that Palin didn't buy the plane, but sold it, I think that makes it a PROFIT for her administration and for the people of Alaska. Rather than have it sit there wasting money for maintenance & crew....SHE SOLD IT.

I heard Obama say he wanted to join the military. Isn't that a joke. Obama wouldn't last a day in the military. Can you see him with his gloves on in boot camp?

He is risky and has a funny or strange name. Not for me.

I don't want to risk my country and my values with this inexperienced candidate.

I can't believe that the republicans are up to their old tricks and some of these Americans are falling for it. Even some of these so religious pastors are running around with their tongues hanging out for Sarah Palin. Come on people--we don't want anymore of George Bush!!! There's laws about church and state. Sarah Palin is being used. If she is smart she will get out now. There is something strange about that family that raises the hairs on the back of my neck. Kate from Becker.

Oh Good Grief. Both candidates ask the media to leave the family out and here you go at it again.

I guess the media have nothing else to talk about and to give Palin/McCain a free ride on TV. Nobody have a clue when Palin is going to be interviewed.

Sometime this week is all everyone knows.

All Palin/McCain are doing is shift here shift there and hope the media flocks to Palin/McCain.

I am confused who is running for President.

I wonder what it would look like to see Palin in the White House. How would it look with her family values and morals in the White House?

We would the laughing stock to the world.

He has said nothing of substance yet. obamas followers need to get a grip on themselves. As we learn more about Governor Palin, the more she makes my skin crawl. Besides her extreme religious views, she also appears to like to strong arm people. If someone is not on her side, she'll make sure they are removed from their position.

Ask her what she did with the money that she received when supporting the Bridge to Nowhere. She sure didn't return it.

Also, she would like to censor books if she had it her way.

How freely do you think Mr. Johnston is entering into marriage with Bristol?

By constantly bringing up her son's deployment, I would bet that she is trying to get him removed from his tour ala Prince Harry.

She also recklessly put her unborn son's life in danger by traveling late in her pregnancy, and gave a speech while leaking amniotic fluid instead of getting medical care. This possibly could have resulted in his birth being a month early.

If you want your kids out of the media – then stop parading them around.

McCain and Palin in '09 – A 10% Chance for Change! Woohoo!

Instead of dumpster diving for every perceived angles of attacks on Palin, perhaps Obama should spend his time and money on comparing and contrasting the changes and reforms he has implemented and led vs Palin and Mccain. Just a thought.....because all this attack on this woman vp candidate reminds me of what Obama said in his convention speech "..when you don't have a record to run on then your message is to get voters to go against the other guy." Isn't this exactly what Obama is doing? Is Mr Obama reverting back to hyprocrisy as a campaign platform?

As for knowing when someone deploys, I have 2 nephews in Iraq..and they are brothers..one is there for the 4th time by choice and we knew when they were going but could not know when they were coming home until they got here. Did not compromise anything. I also have a nephew in the Air Force who has been over and we knew when he was leaving too but could not know when he was coming back into the country.
People need to know what they are talking about before responding to an open blog or comment like this.

Palin is makeing CHEAP politics of the fact that she has ason in the Army. she is not the only canidate that has family members in the militray. This goes along with the cheap shot about her daughter being pregnant. First she pul the young girl into the spot light then complains when people ask the natural questions. Sheis trying too hard to have the sexest card played both ways. She holds it like a shield to protect her from all questions. then she azcts like she in to receive special consideration because she is a woman and then declars she is a pitbull.

We do not need this type of person. She does not reflect my values. If her values are really the true values of the AMerican People I must be in the wrong country. I always thought America was the home of freedom no the village of stupidity

One kid named after a hunting skill. One named after the city where ESPN (Palin's true aspiration) is based. One whose second middle name is Van (Trig Paxson Van Palin) so it sounds like Van Halen.

I mean, these are really the people we want in charge?

People need to do some research on this woman. She has made speeches where she calls the Iraq War God's War. That statement alone says a lot about her. Isn't that statement similar to ones we have heard from the so-called 'enemy'?

Terry   September 8th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

It discredits all of the very real issuess and policy views? I have not yet heard any thing come out of McPalin about issues or policy views.

All I am trying to say what planet are we on. Did I miss anything? The only thing that came out her mouth since the convention (Pre Bush speech that seems to have some type of voo doo over people) is the same negative things about Obama that where already said 37 millions watch we know how you feel about Obama. Talk about your policy.
Which by the way is not a speech because she paues every 10seconds so GOP can clap.
I have not heard hers views on any policy or what she plan to do for USA!
GOP told Obama to give substance and he did, I have yet heard anyone ask that of MCSAME and his side kick.......All of them!!!!!

"What happened to lay off the family?"

Nothing, have you heard Obama, Biden, or anyone affiliated with the campaign take shots at her family?

What I want to know is, if Palin really cares about the privacy of her kids, why is SHE exploiting them to try and get votes, whether it's her son in the military, or announcing her daughter's "news"? Let's not forget, despite all the accusations of "smears" and such, SHE was the one who made that announcement and put her daughter under public scrutiny.

Joe Biden's son is also serving in Iraq- on top of being the Attorney General of Delaware. Now that's impressive.

By the way, Barack Obama- who was born in 1961- never had the opportunity to fight in a war because there were no wars going on during this late teens and twenties. I don't think we should hold that against him, you think?

Billy J -Austin, TX-   September 8th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

Track Palin is going to Iraq as infantry, and doesn't have a lot of say in the matter. Beau Biden is going as a Captain. He doesn't have to go, as he's also the Delaware state Attorney General, but he's going anyway.

This is a war that effects all of us.

Tony   September 8th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Dems are great at trying to find a scandal where there is none. It's as if they have nothing better to throw at Republicans than "Look at what she's doing mommy!" They figure that if their liberal media pals just pick up on the story of an investigation, it influences Americans.

Unfortuantely for Obama, who has tried to be above such things, he chose a running mate and is easily influenced by folks who pull out these crazy tactics.

Seems to me that Dems think Americans are stupid...

All she cares about is the photo shoots and snide remarks she can make. This is not an issue. Let's not get sidetracked.

CNN why won't you post anything negative about Palin?!   September 8th, 2008 3:15 pm ET

Average Americans don't believe that the Earth was created 7000 years ago;
We don't ignore overwhelming scientific proof about global warming;
We don't support Jews For Jesus;
We don't support states seceding from the country;
We don't support eminent domain;
We don't support banning books;
We don't support using political power for personal gain (Troopergate);
We do support abortion in the case of rape or incest;
We do support sexual education that deals with pre-marital sex, STDs and contraceptives

Palin should not be allowed anywhere near the White House!
She is an extreme religious fundalmentalist.
She lied about a major corruption foe (she accepted campaign contributions in the same fundraising scheme at the center of a public corruption scandal that led to the indictment of Sen. Ted Stevens).
She lied about being against earmarking (she requested $27 Million for tiny Wasilla – even McCain criticized her).
She lied about her initial support for the Bridge to Nowhere (only reversing her opinion when it became politicially beneficial to do so).
She does not support alternate energy sources.
She is anti-environmental.
She even lied about winning Miss Congeniality!

Extreme is an understatement.

So you really want a "Warrior For God" one heartbeat away from our nuclear arsenal? I thought unstable, belligerent religious extremists were our enemies...not our representatives.

Sarah's heart is so full because her first-born is going off to battle, just the same as millions of mothers before and after. What would those hard-nosed men know of what a mother feels when her son is going into dangerous waters? She is proud of him and will pray earnestly for his safety; but, still, mothers will still yearn for their children's safety at all times.

Foreign observer   September 8th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

Candidate Palin is simply unexperienced and naive on most issues (f.e. abstinence, Irak illegal invasion=gods will ) . She should have received an advice from McCain how to handle the deployment of her son.
