Heart guitarists Nancy and Ann Wilson don't want the McCain campaign to play their song.

LEBANON, Ohio (CNN) – The rock band "Heart" may have asked John McCain and Sarah Palin stop playing their song "Barracuda" at their rallies, but the campaign is apparently paying no heed.

The track - played at the Republican National Convention in honor of the Vice Presidential nominee, who earned the nickname "Sarah Barracuda" playing high school basketball in Alaska - was pumped through the streets of Lebanon, Ohio on Tuesday morning at an outdoor rally before the GOP ticket showed up.

Earlier: Heart condemns McCain-Palin use of 'Barracuda'

When the song was played after Palin's convention speech last week, the band members quickly requested that McCain and Palin pull the plug.

"Sarah Palin's views and values in no way represent us as American women," Ann and Nancy Wilson told Entertainment Weekly. "We ask that our song 'Barracuda' no longer be used to promote her image."

But the McCain camp said last week that it had paid for and obtained all necessary licenses before using the song.

And the band's former guitarist, Roger Fisher, told Reuters last week that the McCain camp’s use of the song benefited both sides: Republicans get "the ingenious placement of a kick-ass song" - and Heart gets headlines and royalties. Part of that money, said Fisher, would be heading to the Arizona senator’s opponent: "With my contribution to Obama's campaign, the Republicans are now supporting Obama," he told Reuters.

Republican for Obama   September 9th, 2008 11:09 am ET

I've voted republican for most of my life, but this time the ticket is a disgrace. I might be a republican, but I can see through all the lies and hypocrisy of McCain and Palin. Plus after regretting voting for Bush I won't make the same mistake this time. I'm proud to be voting for Obama in this election and I'm not the only one. My whole family is voting for Obama and almost all of my republican friends are – not to mention my Dem friends.

Go Obama! Let's fix our broken government.

Joe   September 9th, 2008 11:09 am ET

How long is it going to take the lobbyists running Senator McCain's campaign to get Governor Palin up-to-speed so that she can sit for interviews with the press corps? What are they trying to hide?

If Palin can work with a very young baby, then why can't ALL women do it. Why do some have to take off from work yet Palin can travel all over the country with McCain working. At my job we are covering for one right now that is out with a baby leaving us with her load to carry. Palin has just set the new bar for working women. This family leave needs to be looked into.
McCain/Palin for a working woman.

Hey, the chorus from "Barracuda" says it all about the McCain/Palin hypocrisy and their slash-and-burn politics:

If the real thing don't do the trick
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooh, barracuda?

Deb, Allentown, PA   September 9th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Are we surprised that, despite requests from Heart that the McCain camp not use their music, they continue to simply flip them the bird and play it anyway? This is exactly what we've come to expect from the Republicans.

They ignore subpoenas, they don't bother with copyright laws, they ignore required warrants, etc.

And can you imagine if BO had picked a VP currently under an active ethics investigation? The Republicans would have been all OVER him. How can they justify picking someone who may be found guilty of impropriety?

I know. It's because they think they're above the law. Well, you know what? They're wrong and they're going to find out the hard way if BO/Biden win this election.

Cathy in MD   September 9th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Which Republican is running for President - John McCain or Sarah Palin? It is painfully clear that McCain alone does not generate this excitement and does not have the appeal and popularity that he is enjoying as part of this Team of so-called “Mavericks.” This does not reflect well on his ability to head the ticket, and Palin is not qualified to be President of the United States if that were to become necessary. She is nothing more than a strategically placed marketing device being used to sell an otherwise boring, more of the same-old-partisan-politics McCain to undecided, disenfranchised voters and the extreme right wing conservative base. McCain and Palin ARE NOT what they claim to be. Just notice how often the crowds of their "supporters" are forced to chant, "USA, USA" only to drown out the protests. Don't be fooled by appearances. Thanks, but NO THANKS - to more of the same!!!

faye, NV   September 9th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Palin/McCain are quiet good at taking credit for something.

gc   September 9th, 2008 11:07 am ET

"Hillary supporter now for McCain/Palin" looks like we have another RNC blogger. Any woman that truly supported Hillary would not support Palin. The only thing they have in common is that they are women. This attitude that the McCain crew is trying to promote is very condescending to women. They think we will not worry our pretty little heads about issues and vote for our own no matter what.

Diana   September 9th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Mike - Texas   September 9th, 2008 11:07 am ET

You'd think that Heart would enjoy the publicity after all of these years.

As far as ther royalties are concerned, it is a small pittance to pay for an energizing song.

Mikey   September 9th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Apparently the Barracuda is bilingual – she can speak in tongues, as many of the parishioners of her church do. I don't particularly care, how they choose to honor the Lord is their own personal choice.

What does concern me is that the members of their church are told to look for signs of the end of days. It would be an understatement to say that it makes me nervous to think that someone who is looking for signs that it is time for the Apocalypse could have their finger on the button. Anyone else uncomfortable about that?

Remember, she is on tape saying that the invasion of Iraq was part of God's plan, as is getting the pipeline she supports built.

Ann   September 9th, 2008 11:06 am ET

When Palin has been subjected to the tough scrutiny given Hillary Clinton by reporters, pundits, commentators and rivals we'll see what she's made of – doubt she can stand up to it – right now she's being treated like a procelain doll. She can't hold a candle to Clinton.

P.S. Mrs. Palin – give us ideas and policy positions not insults and zingers. You're negativity has pretty much persuaded me, among others, to not give you a second thought.

Belle2   September 9th, 2008 11:06 am ET

They sold the rights to the campaign, then, asked them not to use the song. They want the money but do not want their customer to use the product. This is the Obama way? Heart needs to stop complaining and be more careful who they sell the rights to next time. The McCain/Palin campaign have the right to use the song without the public outcry. They should sue Heart for damages-the product lost its value because of the public outcry from Heart. Suppose you bought a GE dishwasher then GE asked you not to use it and went public with that request. Think about it!!

Shari, NY   September 9th, 2008 11:06 am ET

On the Sept. 5th, CNN posted: "Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart said Thursday night that Universal Music Publishing and Sony BMG have sent a cease and desist notice to the McCain-Palin campaign over their use of 'Barracuda.'"

So which is it CNN? Did the McCain camp secure the rights or are they lying and in violation of the DMCA? Please investigate.

Republicans can't run the country, but, they sure can run a campaign. Why does the electorate in this country get themselves taken in by this? It is a self-defeating phenomena for the electorate that is about to happen again. Republicans continue to lie and attack so much better than Democrats. When will the Democrats start using the same tactics?

The deaths of our brave men and women from our two current wars and the IRAN war will be on your heads. Of course, that will be off set when McCain or Palin appoint enough new members to the Supreme court (in name only) to totally get rid of abortion forever.

Michael "C" Lorton, Virginia   September 9th, 2008 11:04 am ET

If the Republicans believe that playing the song Barracuda is going to entice the voters to vote McCain/Palin.....then I'm going to start putting my fallen teeth under the pillow for the "toothfairy." These are the individuals who are going to run our country?.

Those of you who were for Hilary and want now to vote for Mc Cain, are you logical with yourselves? Hilary herself wants to have Obama as her candidate. Now you want to be more royalist than the King? Did you think about what you want to do? You have never been real Democrats, you just are traitors. Thanks for this election, you reveal your true face. Shame on you!!!

Pam   September 9th, 2008 11:03 am ET

McShame and Caribou Barbie should be ashamed of themselves but remember people this is the Republican party. Being the wife of a musician, I know what it's like to have one's intellectual property used against one's wishes. No worries. The Dems got the last laugh with the fact that the monies the "re-pubes" have paid goes to Obama. Perhaps we should send them Obama t-shirts and bumper stickers.
John McShame has decided to pander to the extreme right by picking this highly unqualified candidate. (hey sarah, are you still cramming for the debate?) Well you can pander all you want John, because you just showed your true self. This election is merely about your selfish ambition to be president. With John McShame, DON'T be fooled. It is NOT about "Country First", it is about "Me (John McCain) First."

It is time to boot the Republicans out of the White House! We're taking back our country!

Who cares what ugly fish she calls herself, I can't rememebr the guy's name but he has a song called " Loser", I hope McCain and Palin have that song paid for to be used in November. And for the last time, if you support someone who is totally opposite of the candadite your were supporting (Hillary Supporter), you either are a fake trying to still sway Hillary supporters or just a plain idiot. Now can you Republicans stop posing as former Democrats on here, please. Your plan didn't work, okay. Move on to Plan L (losing in Nov).

Michael   September 9th, 2008 11:03 am ET

I see Obama has reduced his campaign to just going out and lying about McCain and Palin. The American people are not stupid, they are as interested in what McCain and Palin have to say as Obama even more. They know the truth. Obama is just making himself look like a lier and a fool.

I've noticed that my comments are always under review, or just never make it onto the page. I don't think I am overly opinionated, nor do I curse. I think this site censors depending on whomever reviews these comments, and maybe biased thought processes help with the decision making.

Either there are comments posted that are obviously tinged one way, or if they are drawn towards the opposite way, those comments are watered down, or aren't as articulate in the expression of clarity, with respect to the topic at hand...

That's okay, ... there are other sites....

I find it amusing how Americans think sometimes. Some women claim they felt left out once Obama chose Biden as his running mate and not Hilary so therefor McCain/Palin will get their vote. Well when the number of unemployed so called walmart mothers increases from almost half a million to 2million unemployed women under McBush/Fail-in term, Just make sure you don't cry to anybody.

It seems Americans in general love popularity vote. I guess if thats the way of thinking in this country, Brittany Spears would get my vote. Wake up and smell the coffee, we want no more war, no more unemployment, no more bush, no McCain/Palin. We want change and we need it now.

I am just going to repeat what Rational thoughts said above because it deserves to be said twice:

"I don't care if you're a supporter of Obama or McCain, I think that everyone would be better served by the media if real debate on the issues was reported. Instead we are presented with a daily back and forth on gaffes, gotchas, and misrepresentations. Imagine if voters were able to make decisions based on fact, not feeling. What a refreshing change that would be."

Who cares! How about reporting on Palin's lack of knowledge when it comes to the economy. In a campaign stop in Colorado Springs over the weekend, Palin addressed the issue of the government takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, “They’ve gotten too big and too expensive to taxpayers,” she said. “The McCain-Palin administration will make them smaller and smarter and more effective for homeowners who need help.”

She does not even know that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack are NOT owned by the goverment!!!

CHANGE??????? BO – null null – otherwise known as Dr. NO!

"Change" is fleeting! Positive and Negative – Good and Bad. Obama's self-serving "change" born from contempt and controversy, is like a wrecker destroying in a day or two, what it took noble builders – our founding fathers – years to construct.

The tale of the sinister scorpion, mirrors BO's blueprint of deceit.

The scorpion, a poor swimmer, asked the turtle to carry him across the river. "Are you mad?" exclaimed the turtle. "While swimming, you'll sting me and I'll drown."
Laughed the scorpion, "If I sting you, you would drown and I would go down with you. Where is the logic in that?"
"You're right. Hop on!" said the turtle.
Halfway across the river, the scorpion gave the turtle a mighty sting. As they both sank to the bottom, the turtle resignedly asked, "You said there'd be no logic in stinging me. Why did you do it?"
"It has nothing to do with logic," the drowning scorpion replied. "IT'S JUST MY CHARACTER."

I see Sarah's same old speech every morning, carried live on all networks. You know the one: "my opponent requests the most earmarks"; "I put the jet on Ebay"; "I said 'Thanks, but no thanks' to the funding for the Bridge to Nowhere". Spin, at the very least, and downright lies at most.

Obama was at a town hall this morning in OH as well – Nothing.
Biden was at a town hall yesterday – Nothing. Well at least CNN tried to cut away to it, but was having "audio problems".

I was quite surprised this morning that FOX News covered Hurricane Ike during Sarah's speech, while CNN and MSNBC covered every tired word live as usual. And she still uses her notes, strugglng outside while the pages kept blowing on the podium, for the same speech she's given at the convention and every day since. What's the matter? Are lies to difficult to memorize?

THE MEDIA NEED TO ASK QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WASHINGTON POST: Palin bills state for nights at home, kids’ travel!!!!

Thousands spent on PLAIN children's flights
In separate filings, the state was billed about $25,000 for Palin's daughters' expenses and $19,000 for her husband, Todd Palin.

Flights topped the list for the most expensive items, and the daughter whose bill was the highest was Piper, 7, whose flights cost nearly $11,000, while Willow, 14, claimed about $6,000 and Bristol, 17, accounted for about $3,400.

One such invitation came in October 2007, when Willow flew to Juneau to join the Palin family on a tour of the Hub Juneau Christian Teen Center, where Palin and her family worship when they are in Juneau. The state gave the center $25,000, according to a May 2008 memo.

To Hillary Supporter Now For McCain/Palin:

Yes, I'm angry too about the DNC's treatment of Hillary, I still think she is the most qualified person for the job. However, you cannot vote for McCain instead of Hillary because they have completely opposite views and desires for our future! If you vote for McCain, you are voting out of anger instead of for what you want for this country. I wish we were voting for Hillary too, but please reconsider. Thanks.

Rational Thoughts, believe me I understand where you are coming from, but some of the gaffes (lies), do tell important story about the candidates and what you can expect if they are elected. And besides this is the Internet era for goodness sakes, the world of information is at your finger tips. Why solely rely on CNN. Reals news isn't found on these major stations anyway.

Deborah - Louisville, KY   September 9th, 2008 10:59 am ET

I think it's funny that McCain's money is going straight to Obama's campaign. I also think it's funny that "poor, wittle Sarah", – a.k.a. Barracuda – can't stand on her own two legs to make speeches by herself like ALL other VP candidates in the history of political campaigns. She's supposed to lure Hillary's supporters?! Give me a break! She couldn't compare to the strength of Geraldine Ferraro or Condi Rice! These women know how to stand in front of a microphone and speak.

Can't people see that McCain couldn't make it on his own he's uses her...She's not the one that's running for president,WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike in Calgary   September 9th, 2008 10:59 am ET

Looked at Fact Check. Palin describes herself as a "Pit Bull with lipstick" but it turns out that the attack dog is in fact a "LYING BITC ....er (female dog). She's her words and her history do not compute. Where did she go to school ... certainly not at a Canadian or Ivy League University. As for the pipeline she HAD built, the Canadian Pipeline she's hoping for will not be built by Trans Canada Pipelines until 2018 ... if at all! SHE'S JUST MAKING STUFF UP!

Obama mistake was saying American's aren't stupid! You just have to listen to McCain, Palin and their following to know how stupid Americans really are!

If this soccer mom/first term governor, couldn't teach her 17 year old daughter good value's or moral's, then she shoud have at least told her about birth control pill's or condom's. (Just what this country need's another pregnant teenager.) This is another example of why John McCain's choice of V.P. wasn't the right one. If she can't run her family, how is she going to help run this country??? (If her daughter didn't have a governor for a mommy, she would end up being another teenage mother on welfare.)

Hayward   September 9th, 2008 10:58 am ET

Yeah I think the McCain/Palin ticket has stolen some of Barack's thunder. Ever since the announcement of Palin the McCain campaign has been on a media skyrocket.

Moe   September 9th, 2008 10:58 am ET

I find it ironic that the McCain claims Palin is ready to step in a be President but they don't seem to think she is ready to campaign on her own or take questions. WHAT ARE THE TRYING TO HIDE.

WAKE UP AMERICA!

Henry Hayes   September 9th, 2008 10:58 am ET

All we have known about Sarah Palin is her ability to deliver a speech written by George Bush's speech writer. And knowing that Bush can lie about anything, one should not be surprise that Palin too is a lair. Watching her on the campaign trail today really exposed how unready she is for this job. All she could do is read. She has no message of her own. She is a robot and McCain is a snitch. In McCain's acceptance speech, he admitted he was broken by the Vietnamies. The question is: is anyone who gave American secret away at the time of war a hero or a snitch? Is such a person fit to be president of this great nation.

Barracuda Definition - If the Name Fits...   September 9th, 2008 10:58 am ET

From Webster's dictionary – Barracuda defined as "one that uses aggressive, selfish, and sometimes unethical methods to obtain a goal especially in business". At last, honesty from McCain/Palin.

S.A.M. from Virginia   September 9th, 2008 10:58 am ET

McCain/Palin have no moral right. Heart asked them to stop using the song and they should take heed to what they are asking. Palin does not represent Heart. Stop using the song!!!

Gary   September 9th, 2008 10:58 am ET

Great strategy Ann and Nancy Wilson; alienate half of your audience. One would think you would applaud repeated use of your music at historic events. It would probably drive up your sales. Everyone knows it is just a song and in no way implies your support of anyone. The same goes for the Hollywood crowd. The Charlie Sheens of the world have no problem showing their ignorance by suggesting Bush orchestrated 9/11 and other nonsense. Maybe they are what is referred to as the "angry left."

"Barracuda" is supposedly about crooks and thieves.

It's as dumb as when political events play "Born in the USA." That song is about people getting screwed by their own country. It's not an patriotic anthem, it's a bitter indictment.

I thought Ann and Nancy Wilson were Canadian.

Country first McCain – LOL
Your first tern as a senator had a lot left to be desired. You had to pay 250,000.00 monies back to another big wig from 1987, Savings and Loan Scandal. Although you were cleared by the standard back then, you were rebuked by the US Senate for bad judgement.

We want more than a name changer

Say or do anything to get elected. now we know who breaks under pressure.

Call that a maverick, Reckless yes

What did mcCain accomplish that earned him that name between 1986-1992.

Change by the people!

CNN, I don't understand why you don't allow comments on your stories. You used to. Are you getting feedback that your news organization appears to be pro-McLiar? You tone down the the negatives stories on Senator Obama, but are also not reporting the ones on Palin, for example how she billed her state for 312 nights that she was at home with her family. Wolf, Candy and Campbell you are slipping, you do not want to write anything negative on PalinBush and McLiar.

For the so called Hilary supporters voting for McCain /Palin, please stop calling yourself a Hilary supporter. the truth is you support McCain, plain and simple so either you are for the person Hilary is supporting ( Obama) or you not, but please don't say you are a Hilary suporter. You are placing you vote with the GOP and everything that comes with it..

DeGee   September 9th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Hillary Supporter-Just where in Webster's did you find that definition anyway?

MAVERICK AND THE MARE   September 9th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Did the Mare cut spending? You decide from Factcheck.

"Those who claim that Palin cut special needs funding by 62 percent are looking in the wrong place and misinterpreting what they find there. They point to an apparent drop in the Department of Education and Early Development budget for special schools. But the special schools budget, despite the similar name, isn't the special needs budget. "I don’t even consider the special schools component [part of] our special needs funding," Jeans told FactCheck.org. "The special needs funding is provided through our public school funding formula. The special schools is simply a budget component where we have funding set aside for special projects," such as the Alaska School for the Deaf and the Alaska Military Youth Academy. A different budget component, the Foundation Program, governs special needs programs in the public school system."

Common Sense   September 9th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Ok, ok, ok...I can understand that someone have the right to pick which ever they feel like for POTUS. But please compare both candidates on the issues, not on their appeal or values. Try to understand their vision for this country and see what they will do for your family in terms of education, health care and all other subjects that matters to you. That's why we elect them in office. When the election season is over, you will have to understand the consequences of your choice for 4 years may impact the future of your family.

No one can really predict how each candidate will lead/govern until they are in office. I don't think either candidate is perfect. But I am begging everyone one in here to reflect on their choice before making a mistake, regardless who you beleive can lead us out of this mess. Please use common sense.

The more I hear her her claims of accomplishments the more deceptons I am hearing. from some one who spent 2 summers in Alaska in the 90'

Vince   September 9th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Palin is doing most of the talking, because Mccain isn't saying anything that anyone wants to hear. He is boring. That's why he chose some entertainment for the VP position. He is smart. He isn't expecting Palin do do much of anyhting, as vice president. She is nothing but a way to get white female votes. That's it. And the non- thinkers are buying into it. Just like they did with Bush and his tactics. This country is doomed.

This republican party is filled with hyprocracy, and is so blatant in their expecting the majority of americans to be drenched in gullablities. Most who will vote, will not read; they won't do their homework, they will just listne to mainstream shallow rhetoric, that will eventually destroy this country.

Alicia, TX   September 9th, 2008 10:55 am ET

Iraq is so complex. It's a boiling pot, temporarily with a lid on. It takes a leader with JUDGEMENT, VISION and PATIENCE.

THis is Palin's profile:
As Governor, she gave the Legislature no direction and budget guidelines, then made a big grandstand display of line-item vetoing

projects, calling them pork. Public outcry and further legislative action restored most of these projects–which had been vetoed simply

because she was not aware of their importance–but with the unobservant she had gained a reputation as “anti-pork"

She's not READY.

I think it's time McCain & Palin had some new material. Each & every time I see them live on TV, they just keep reading from the exact same script, saying the same exact things over & over again. Where would they be without their script. Maybe they can take another lesson from Senator Obama, such as speaking "to the people" and not "at the people", as it appears they have several times already in this race.

Kelby from Houston, TX   September 9th, 2008 10:48 am ET

Take hint repugs, The rock band "Heart" doesn't want you to play their song. Kudos to The rock band "Heart" for seeing through the lies that make up the image that they present to the public. Palin is an antifeminist and honestly her view and values disgust me. (Although, she is pretty) I think they should pump out an anti Palin jam...if they could. It would totally put them back on the map

E.C.Coleman   September 9th, 2008 10:48 am ET

Those Heart women should be Thrilled that some individual EVEN REMEMBERED THE SONG AND HAS REVIVED IT! Touche to the GOP who obtained the Licenses and Paid the Royalties BEFORE they used the song! LOL Why don't those Heart women keep up with their business? Since the two women have gone public and complained......they are now the 'laughing stock' of the music industry! Funneeee!

LS   September 9th, 2008 10:48 am ET

The Republicans should be playing the song "The Road to Nowhere".

Because that's exactly the direction America is headed to if these two idiots are elected.

Heart Fan   September 9th, 2008 10:48 am ET

Way to go, Roger!! You're the man!!

Let's see how long it takes them to stop playing it now, now they know their money is going to further Obama's campaign!!

Really Ingenious!! Way to go, man!!

Jerry   September 9th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Why the media focus on Palin not McCain ,,,,,,,If Palin become VP I am moving to Europe.........Palin is out for herself not for American people she a lier and cheaters.....Palin is disgusting to American people and McCain dont know where he stand

FreeNLovIt   September 9th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Sarah's a good woman and she shares my conservative values, except for a few minor variations.

She qualifies to be a VP, but definitely not a President. I just watched Larry King/with Woodward on the war in Iraq, and PALIN does not measure up to be the Commander-in-Chief.

Wow! Just hearing Woodward talk about it, PALIN is not ready and will not be ready should McCain be in the afterlife, chasing Osama.

John   September 9th, 2008 10:47 am ET

This is funny! McCain is so sympathetic to Obama after seeing the polls. McCain praises Obama, funds Obama campaign, but Obama just attacks and attacks and loses.

Enlightened Voter   September 9th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Typical repuglican way, ignore the people and what they want for their own gain. Anyway I find it funny how the royalties paid from the song were donated to Barack's campaign. That is what I call sweet justice!!!

Republicans Hate America   September 9th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Like everything Christian people do they steal other peoples ideas to suit themselves and call it their own.

Christmas – stolen from the pagans
Christian Rock - Stolen from musicians despised by the religious

They do this because their message is flawed and they can only invade the ideology of other cultures in order to indoctrinate.

John in Ohio   September 9th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Rules? Copyrights? The Republicans don't care. They believe themselves to be above the law.

Heart should sue.

Andy   September 9th, 2008 10:47 am ET

HA genious! Keep talking the same scripted speeches and raking in the money for Obama. 10 Million the night of your speech, 100 of which was mine. Keep it up!

"Heart" Who?   September 9th, 2008 10:47 am ET

WEREN'T they that band from the '70's and '80's? Haven't heard their name mentioned in ages. You'd think they'd appreciate the publicity for their has-been careers.

I wonder how fat the, uh, fat singer is now. Since they were pretty old in the '80's, I'm sure they've just gotten more unappealing with age.

Why are we talking about washed up "talent", again?

PAUL   September 9th, 2008 10:47 am ET

BHO crybabies!! BOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! The recent polls must be getting a little uncomfortable!!!

George Washington   September 9th, 2008 10:46 am ET

Please run your campaigns on policies and issues.

R.I.F.   September 9th, 2008 10:46 am ET

Clean up Washington? One of the biggest negatives of the Bush Administration is that they have no respect for the law. The fact that you guys keep violating the law in playing music when the artists say dont' play my music is a just more of the same.

Unempressed   September 9th, 2008 10:46 am ET

SHAMELESS

This is the second song they've used in the campaign without permission. They've also used several images/photographs without permission.

McCain consistently takes ideas and lines from Obama in his speaches as his own

All FALSE: Claims the gas pipeline is built (not fully funded or fully approved), the plane was sold on ebay – and for a profit (nope, nope), stopped the "bridge to no-where" (only said no after Congress said nope)

LIES LIES LIES = BUSH / ROVE

Lisa in Shelton CT   September 9th, 2008 10:46 am ET

What a shame that Heart had no say in their song being licensed for use by folks they don't support – way to go Fisher for using their money to support a candidate you believe in and to the band for publicly saying who they prefer – How American for Rockers to rock the vote!

Greg in Annapolis   September 9th, 2008 10:45 am ET

It's pretty typical of Republicans to keep doing things they have been asked not to do. Is anyone surprised? Please, America, vote for Barack Obama and let's get this GOP scum out of Washington!

VA Resident   September 9th, 2008 10:45 am ET

The same way that the McCain campaign is ignoring the wishesof the band is the same way that they will ignore the will of the people if they are elected!

CNN....why is the story on Palin and her religious beliefs open for comments. You were ALL over Rev. Jeremiah Wright. If Palin wants to run with the big dogs then she should expect to get treated like one!

jjames   September 9th, 2008 10:45 am ET

she is a pig in lipstick, and a paper tiger blowing in the wind...

MAVERICK AND THE MARE   September 9th, 2008 10:45 am ET

And all of America is still waiting to hear something other than lies from the Penecostal mare and her sidekick!

Susan from Scotts Valley, CA   September 9th, 2008 10:45 am ET

They have no respect for artists. What else is new?

Pepou   September 9th, 2008 10:45 am ET

Palin is a very dangerous lunatic who thinks that God instructed us to invade Iraq, who belongs to a church which welcomes anti-semitic pastors. She is also a liar (bridge to nowhere ? earmarks ? Wake up people !

Veterans 4 Obama   September 9th, 2008 10:44 am ET

haha! I love it. The more they play it, the more money gets donated to the Obama campaign! Play it...Play it...Play it!

Anonymous   September 9th, 2008 10:44 am ET

Part of that money, said Fisher, would be heading to the Arizona senator’s opponent: "With my contribution to Obama's campaign, the Republicans are now supporting Obama,"
-------------

Love it. Keep playing it, McCain.

chelle   September 9th, 2008 10:44 am ET

Apparently they still haven't listened to the words yet either...it is not a song about a nice person.

And I can't believe the best promotion for this woman is her HIGH SCHOOL nickname....wow...that's the best thing about her???

Shannon   September 9th, 2008 10:44 am ET

Wow, if I were the McCain camp I would rethink the song.

Obama/Biden
08/12

gbrown2   September 9th, 2008 10:44 am ET

JUST DOWN RIGHT PATHETIC!!!!!!

James From Chicago   September 9th, 2008 10:43 am ET

Palin the "Barracuda" does not represent the American women,
in fact she is a disgrace. Hillary voters are not going to cross over
to McCain because of his VP pick. She is no Hillary Clinton.

Cynthia   September 9th, 2008 10:43 am ET

With something as simple as a song, if they cannot respect Heart's wishes what would make the American people think that they would respect their wishes. But, there is some justice in that the royalities received by some from the McCain camp will go to the Obama campaign. Go Obama!

GO Obama!   September 9th, 2008 10:42 am ET

Ching ching! Keep supporting Obama!

Thanks!

Mike, TX   September 9th, 2008 10:42 am ET

Dear McCain / Palin,

Please stop playing Barracuda. It was, and is, a terrible song.

Obama Campaign   September 9th, 2008 10:42 am ET

It appears that all the excitement has gone form Barack to Barracuda.

:-(

Tony   September 9th, 2008 10:42 am ET

Nobody cares about this stupid band anyway. Keep blowin' the doors off the place, Sarah Barracuda!

AW   September 9th, 2008 10:41 am ET

WAY TO GO. TAKE THE MONEY AND SEND TO OBAMA. INGENIOUS.

Greg, NY   September 9th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Oh, the irony.

Tony   September 9th, 2008 10:40 am ET

SHE SHOULD BE CALLED SARAH "PIRAHANA".

SHE HAS NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER IN USING HER OWN FAMILY TO FURTHER HER POLITICAL AMBITIONS, FROM THE OLDEST TO YOUNGEST.

GOOD OLD REPUBLICAN FAMILY VALUES....ALIVE AND WELL!
