McCain and Palin once again play 'Barracuda'

Heart guitarists Nancy and Ann Wilson don't want the McCain campaign to play their song.

LEBANON, Ohio (CNN) – The rock band "Heart" may have asked John McCain and Sarah Palin stop playing their song "Barracuda" at their rallies, but the campaign is apparently paying no heed.

The track - played at the Republican National Convention in honor of the Vice Presidential nominee, who earned the nickname "Sarah Barracuda" playing high school basketball in Alaska - was pumped through the streets of Lebanon, Ohio on Tuesday morning at an outdoor rally before the GOP ticket showed up.

Earlier: Heart condemns McCain-Palin use of 'Barracuda'

When the song was played after Palin's convention speech last week, the band members quickly requested that McCain and Palin pull the plug.

"Sarah Palin's views and values in no way represent us as American women," Ann and Nancy Wilson told Entertainment Weekly. "We ask that our song 'Barracuda' no longer be used to promote her image."

But the McCain camp said last week that it had paid for and obtained all necessary licenses before using the song.

And the band's former guitarist, Roger Fisher, told Reuters last week that the McCain camp’s use of the song benefited both sides: Republicans get "the ingenious placement of a kick-ass song" - and Heart gets headlines and royalties. Part of that money, said Fisher, would be heading to the Arizona senator’s opponent: "With my contribution to Obama's campaign, the Republicans are now supporting Obama," he told Reuters.

SHE SHOULD BE CALLED SARAH "PIRAHANA".

SHE HAS NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER IN USING HER OWN FAMILY TO FURTHER HER POLITICAL AMBITIONS, FROM THE OLDEST TO YOUNGEST.

GOOD OLD REPUBLICAN FAMILY VALUES....ALIVE AND WELL!

    Dear McCain / Palin,

Please stop playing Barracuda. It was, and is, a terrible song.

With something as simple as a song, if they cannot respect Heart's wishes what would make the American people think that they would respect their wishes. But, there is some justice in that the royalities received by some from the McCain camp will go to the Obama campaign. Go Obama!

Palin the "Barracuda" does not represent the American women,
in fact she is a disgrace. Hillary voters are not going to cross over
to McCain because of his VP pick. She is no Hillary Clinton.

Apparently they still haven't listened to the words yet either...it is not a song about a nice person.

And I can't believe the best promotion for this woman is her HIGH SCHOOL nickname....wow...that's the best thing about her???

Palin is a very dangerous lunatic who thinks that God instructed us to invade Iraq, who belongs to a church which welcomes anti-semitic pastors. She is also a liar (bridge to nowhere ? earmarks ? Wake up people !

The same way that the McCain campaign is ignoring the wishesof the band is the same way that they will ignore the will of the people if they are elected!

CNN....why is the story on Palin and her religious beliefs open for comments. You were ALL over Rev. Jeremiah Wright. If Palin wants to run with the big dogs then she should expect to get treated like one!

It's pretty typical of Republicans to keep doing things they have been asked not to do. Is anyone surprised? Please, America, vote for Barack Obama and let's get this GOP scum out of Washington!

What a shame that Heart had no say in their song being licensed for use by folks they don't support – way to go Fisher for using their money to support a candidate you believe in and to the band for publicly saying who they prefer – How American for Rockers to rock the vote!

    SHAMELESS

This is the second song they've used in the campaign without permission. They've also used several images/photographs without permission.

McCain consistently takes ideas and lines from Obama in his speaches as his own

All FALSE: Claims the gas pipeline is built (not fully funded or fully approved), the plane was sold on ebay – and for a profit (nope, nope), stopped the "bridge to no-where" (only said no after Congress said nope)

LIES LIES LIES = BUSH / ROVE

Clean up Washington? One of the biggest negatives of the Bush Administration is that they have no respect for the law. The fact that you guys keep violating the law in playing music when the artists say dont' play my music is a just more of the same.
