McCain and Palin once again play 'Barracuda'

Heart guitarists Nancy and Ann Wilson don't want the McCain campaign to play their song.
Heart guitarists Nancy and Ann Wilson don't want the McCain campaign to play their song.

LEBANON, Ohio (CNN) – The rock band "Heart" may have asked John McCain and Sarah Palin stop playing their song "Barracuda" at their rallies, but the campaign is apparently paying no heed.

The track - played at the Republican National Convention in honor of the Vice Presidential nominee, who earned the nickname "Sarah Barracuda" playing high school basketball in Alaska - was pumped through the streets of Lebanon, Ohio on Tuesday morning at an outdoor rally before the GOP ticket showed up.

Earlier: Heart condemns McCain-Palin use of 'Barracuda'

When the song was played after Palin's convention speech last week, the band members quickly requested that McCain and Palin pull the plug.

"Sarah Palin's views and values in no way represent us as American women," Ann and Nancy Wilson told Entertainment Weekly. "We ask that our song 'Barracuda' no longer be used to promote her image."

But the McCain camp said last week that it had paid for and obtained all necessary licenses before using the song.

And the band's former guitarist, Roger Fisher, told Reuters last week that the McCain camp’s use of the song benefited both sides: Republicans get "the ingenious placement of a kick-ass song" - and Heart gets headlines and royalties. Part of that money, said Fisher, would be heading to the Arizona senator’s opponent: "With my contribution to Obama's campaign, the Republicans are now supporting Obama," he told Reuters.

Why is this article titled "Obama Mocks..."

He's more polite than that. Its the RNC that "mocked" Obama. This is just more proof that people opposed to Obama used Obama supporters to advertise themselves. LIke Hillary's 3 a.m. adds. They all support Obama. GOBAMA!

My friends, the lustre is already beginning to wear off the bespectacled one.

Once the stories start coming out about her governing style and use of public funds and her extremist beliefs, people will be asking the questions they should be asking now: what was McCain thinking? How can this man be trusted to run the country? Is his judgment so impaired that he didn't see what a liability Palin was?

Typical of the McCain campaign. My way or no way. Does McCain or his insipid manager Davis, have any original thoughts? Party of Change? Stolen from Obama. Every talking point they have has been used by bush. What a shame that this is the best that the GOP can serve up.

    Barracuda is laughable.
Who wants a barracuda in the white house? I would much rather have a vice president that really cares about the rights and well being of citizens, aka Joe Biden.
Ms. Palin's harsh words and misrepresentations are deceiving, and I'm sick and tired of being deceived by powers that be.
I am not at all impressed by Palin.

Those who continue to support lies, are they deaf, blind or something? Oh I understand, they are the same who voted for Bush. They must have some problems maybe. They like liars. Vote for Mc Cain if you want to, but do not say four years later that he has been the worst president you have ever seen. You only have the president you deserve, he is certainly at your image, I don't blame you. You just like to be duped.

THE REAL NEWS CNN IS NOT REPORTING

    Koch Endorses Obama For President

Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch announced his endorsement of Barack Obama for president this morning.

I feel I can do a better job than CNN. Truth is they will keep this comment away from you and only approve comments against Obama.

Please Sarah Palin is a honest politician.

And the universal truth is that all politicians are corrupt, it is the nature of the job itself.

The correct question to ask is will she make a good Vice President

Barracuda, pitbull and conservative right. America first – and not the US people first ! That´s not the same! Many people just follow. Not using their brains on the issues. Many countries already got into trouble when being guided by no brainers.

If McCain and Palin want to be mavericks and disrespect the wishes of the band who made that song famous, then kudos to Heart for donating that money to the Obama campaign. I hope McCain and Palin's selfish decision bites them in the butt!

Heart should be thanking the Republicans for all this free press!!

Until now, I'd not heard that song in a very long time.

Get over yourselves, Heart, the playing of that song does not say what you stand for, it's just a song, please!

Palin is doing most of the talking, because Mccain isn't saying anything that anyone wants to hear. He is boring. That's why he chose some entertainment for the VP position. He is smart. He isn't expecting Palin do do much of anyhting, as vice president. She is nothing but a way to get white female votes. That's it. And the non- thinkers are buying into it. Just like they did with Bush and his tactics. This country is doomed.

This republican party is filled with hyprocracy, and is so blatant in their expecting the majority of americans to be drenched in gullablities. Most who will vote, will not read; they won't do their homework, they will just listne to mainstream shallow rhetoric, that will eventually destroy this country.
