McCain rally in Virginia moved to larger venue

(CNN) – John McCain's campaign is moving a Wednesday rally from a northern Virginia high school to new venue following complaints from some local officials, who complained that holding a partisan event on school grounds violates local School Board policy.

However, McCain's campaign told CNN on Wednesday the main reason for moving the event was to accommodate outsized demand for tickets.

The McCain camp was scheduled to hold a rally Fairfax High School’s field house tomorrow morning from the school system and the city for $10,200.

The event, originally scheduled to be held at Fairfax County High School in northern Virginia, is being re-located after some county School Board members and parents complained that the rally posed a violation of board policy because it would disrupt normal school hours, and objected to the exception granted the McCain campaign. Over the summer, when school was not in regular session, Democrat Barack Obama held a rally at the county’s Robinson High School.

A McCain aide said the principal reason for moving the rally to a new, larger venue - a nearby park - is the mounting demand for tickets. McCain's rallies over the last week with running mate Sarah Palin have drawn large crowds for the Republican nominee.

Wednesday's event will be McCain's first in Virginia since securing the nomination earlier this year.

Yesterday I heard Palin claim that she put Alaskas checkbook on-line "for all the world to see". I looked at the "checkbook".

    1. Although Palin made it sound as if this were her brilliant idea it is fact a national trend for government websites and she just happened to jump on the bandwagon.

    2. The only information the "checkbook" gives is the GL account, deptartment, vendor and amount. No date and no check numbers making it impossible to prove that all checks written are actually listed on the website.

    3. I did not see any credits to the account making it impossible to balance this "checkbook"

So yes America, she did post the "Checkbook" on-line but gave only the information that they wanted you to see. When I called the phone number listed to see if I could get any further information on certain checks I was unable to reach anyone.

This on-line "checkbook" is a joke, Palin is a joke and if we put her in office our entire nation will be joke to the rest of the world.

For a self described pitbull Sarah sure doesn't have any teeth. Her supporters are whining loudly about attacks. That's called politics, if you can't handle it don't run. What are you going to do when (God forbid) she's staring down Putin? Call the whambulance?

No one's really slandering Sarah, her record does that all by itself.

If McCain were not worth it 2 weeks ago, then he still isn't worth it today.

We vote the the top of the ticket, not the bottom.

The desparate democrats think trashing an American woman is great fun! They did it to Hillary, and they think Governor Palin is just another woman to get rid of! :(

But, this time they are contributing to their own demise! Trash this American woman and the McCain/Palin ticket rises while the other guys fall!

McCain/Palin 08 for authentic reform with integrity. They will deliver! :)

McCain and Palin stand for morality not rehtoric. Obama humilated himself when answering the question about when life begins when he stated "that question is above my pay grade to answer". He should at least come out and just say hei s against pro-life and that life does not begin until you are born. He can't say that because he knows better, medical technology and science have proven the unborn have life, and any moral – based person respects the basic human rights of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"

I've got to give it to Miss Alaska, she's doing a great job at deflecting the real issues. I think when the GOP resorts to pinup dolls, the country really is in trouble.

You can always tell when the truth noose begins to tighten from all the squeals and squawks from the perpetrators. As a Hillary fan, denied the opportunity to vote for her , we will support the other lady and her running mate.

Someone should tell Miss Alaska that there are 49 other states that she will have to consider. What a wake up call she will have when she realizes that a lot of those states have community organizers who vote. Oh, what a nightmare!

Oh you poor disillusioned lefties. Face it, your Obamessiah is faltering. If you had told even the most ardent McCain supporters that he and Obama would be tied (and ultimately McCain ahead) at the end of the conventions they would have not have believed you. Clearly people are listening to what McCain/Palin have to say and they are finding more relevance in the change they are advocating rather than the socialist creed of "tax the rich and keep the poor in their place by giving them crumbs" spewage of Nobama.

Wasn't it just a few days ago that Obama was complaining that all McCain did was attack? Well now that they're behind in the polls it seems like Obama and Biden are doing just that. Hey DemMan, if Palin isn't qualified to be VP then Obama is certainly not qualified to be Prez. Yes Palin isn't Hillary. Plain got where she is by her own efforts, not because of who she married. If Hillary weren't Hillary 'Clinton', she'd have never gotten elected to the Senate.

I am a former democrat and Hillary supporter. But, I must say that Governor Palen is twice the woman Hillary is!

Hillary lost credibility when she put party over country and supported the arrogant, obfuscating, equivocating, inexperienced and extremely left-wing Obama! :(

McCain/Palin 08! They will deliver authentic reform with integrity! :)

We American people we have to think about this. For example, the Republican Conservatives Party came out full force and had elected Bush twice and the results are failed policies which left our country in a Economy mess and the Republicans deep down in thier hearts knows this. My question is to all Americans why should we reward the Republicans's failure by putting another Bush=Mccain and Cheney=Palin their policies are the same as Bush. We have to come out full force against the Republicans we must elect a Democratic we must elect Obama/ Biden Listen People the reason the country is in a mess is because of the Republicians failed Poliices.

For months McCain ridiculed Obama and called him an elitist, The One and a celebrity. He was obviously just jealous at the time because now he is absolutely thrilled to have his own celebrity. Too bad she outshines him. For a year and a half Obama campaigned on "Change" and McCain campaigned on "experience". That wasn't working so guess what now McCain is campaigning on CHANGE. Can't he think on his own.

wake up people!! She is a married woman with 5 kids. Keep your guns in your pants and vote on issues. America has been violated and cheated on first time by republicans, we gave them four more years to fix their mistakes, what they do, they cheated again. Now we are not sure whether or not to give them another 4 years to cheat again. Even if i am a republicain, i will call on my senses. America don't let republicans get away with their mistakes. they are good actors at denying theirs mistakes. If Mccain is only concerned about energizing his base , that is all he will do if elected which is do the same as bush, Work for republicans not america
