Biden starting debate prep

Biden is preparing to Debate Palin.
Biden is preparing to Debate Palin.

CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) - Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm has been tapped to help Joe Biden as he prepares to take on GOP rival Sarah Palin in the upcoming vice presidential debate.

Granholm will spend four days helping Biden sharpen his skills before he faces off with Palin October 2.

At a fundraiser Tuesday night, Biden told supporters debating Palin would be tricky.

“Folks look, I know what she’s going to try to do. She’s going to try to make it as personal as she can. She’s going to take a lot of straight lefts and jabs at me, she’s going to try to get me to respond, she’s going to try to get me to respond in a personal way," Biden said. "That’s not my style. I’m not going to do it.”

Instead, Biden said he would "try very hard" to keep the focus on health care, the struggling economy and foreign policy.

  1. Hello!!!!

Mrs. Palin killed the infamous Bridge to Nowhere in her own state. Yes, she once supported the project: But after witnessing the problems created by earmarks for her state and for the nation's budget, she did what others like me have done: She changed her position and saved taxpayers millions. Even the Alaska Democratic Party credits her with killing the bridge.

When the Senate had its chance to stop the Bridge to Nowhere and transfer the money to Katrina rebuilding, Messrs. Obama and Biden voted for the $223 million earmark, siding with the old boys' club in the Senate. And to date, they still have not publicly renounced their support for the infamous earmark.

I hope he exposes her for what she is. Apolitical gimmick from the McCain camp. All Biden has to do is stick to the facts and the rest will will take care of it's self.

On a side note. McCain has a problem with the pig remark. I have a problem with the Mccain camp being pigs. The new Education ad is so low it is beyond words. McCain has no honor and hasn't for some time. He will do what ever it takes to try and win. I hope the American public isn't fooled again like they were with Bush

    No more Bush.
    No Pete and Repete.

If the focus is on the issues, Biden wins. He just can't let Palin try to get the best of him by firing off her one-line "zingers."

It is going to be highly amusing to watch JOJO disect this Poodle ! Did you see him on Meet the Press this Sunday? This dude is smart and does not command high profile. Hes like a intellectual ninja lurking, stalking.....waiting for the right moment. The more Mrs Failin hides from the media the rougher its gonna be for her to debate JOJO.

John McCain said the same "lipstick on a pig" phrase when referring with to Hillary Clinton's healthcare plan in Iowa on 10/11/07. See youtube.

I think John McCain is a pig for once again throwing up a shiny metal object to distract the voters from the real issues.

Mr. Biden should try to stick to the facts and records because this is a serious position that is being ran for. Should it now be a poodle with lipstick instead of a bulldog with lipstick, is the media and the mccain campaign making her so fragile and delicate that she can not be counteracted on points that are valid, are they trying to make this a sexist and racial contest? This is getting ridiculous, what are the foreign leaders thinking, will they have to worry about offending a woman like if she breaks her nail at a foreign conference it is the host's fault and they should be punished because it happened in their setting. All great movie leaders in movies, Gladiator, 300, Braveheart, lost because they played fair and true to their heart, I think that the obama camp needs to rethink their position, because the media is making a big deal about mediocre things that is fair game, but I guess we need to powder puff politics even if the makeup war was started by the use of the powder puff, this makes me even think that Hillary is tougher and can hang with the big dogs on her own but sarah palin is a delicate flower that is more like a first lady for mccain than a person that is running for vice president, I am really wondering what is going on with the media are they that petrified of having a man who is both white/black being the president of the united states. This is scary of the media and the mccain/bush/carl rove machine. " Poodle with lipstick" now campaign. Let a decent debate be held just as both the republican and democratic debates, I don't think hillary had to be babysat like the mccain's are trying to do with Ms. Palin.

  9. Someone please ask Palin

Another Congressman (McDermott) feels its necessary to push for impeachment of Bush/Cheney........see why .....and ask Palin what her feelings are on that subject.

You know that whole justice thing

Good for you, Joe! Stay focused on what matters; the more you do, the worse it looks for her. Let's get down to business.

  11. Morals and Values for sale!

Mortal Kombat the Lying Pit Bull. FINISH HER! FLAWLESS VICTORY

The one thing about Pit Bulls that I find Ironic is that they aren't normally viscious dogs, they are TRAINED to be that way. I think Sarah Palin was telling everyone that she was trained to be the way she is..

Probably by Ted Stevens, the corrupt Republican senator that she worked for and on behalf of, untill she threw him under the bus for her own benefit.

  12. GEEZER & GIDGET'S TAX PLAN

Tax Facts as determined by the independent organization TPC:

    1. Families earning between $38,000 – $66,000 will receive the following tax breaks under each candidate.

    Obama McCain

    $1.012 $312

    2. Donald Trump backs John McCain who does not know how many houses he owns(his staff is not sure either , but somewhere between 7 & 9) and can afford $500 shoes.

You decide which candidate and party is on the side of the “little guy” in America.

Stay on the issues and make moose stew. She knows how to attack personalities and be catty and funny. But Biden knows the issues and the facts. I don't think the Governor, as she should remain Alaska, has an original thought- unless it in the script.

Joe Biden has every right to bring this to the public's attention. I am so sick of folks providing AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PROTECTION FOR PALIN. The candidates have every right to criticize her on her political stands.

She wanted to play the big boy's game and stop protecting her and labeling everything as if she is above criticism.

Level the playing field.............................hip hip hooray to Obama and Biden for standing up to the white woman who lies and lies............

Help us when the under $50,000 white women support her, after all they are rural white women with little education. If they were smart they could see through the Republican bullsh–.

What has Obama accomplished? What makes him qualified for the office of the President? You compare Palin to Obama, but, Palin isn't running for President. McCain is.

You can't compare Obama to McCain because Obama would look like the inexperienced, young, naive, LAZY person he truly is.

He did nothing in office for 8 years in ILL State politics. Nothing. Oh, I am sorry he voted present 180 times. He accepted a house at a deep discount from a felon. And he attended an anti-white/anti-USA church for 20 years.

While in the US Senate he worked as a Senator for ONE year before he decided to run for Pres. Since then he has not acted as a Senator.

So, in a nutshell, you want to elect a guy who has done NOTHING. Now compare that to McCain. A man who has stood up to Bush many times. A man who created the FIRST campaign finance, called, drumroll, the MCCAIN FEINGOLD BILL. Yes, that is right a bill sponsored by a Republican and a Democrat.

He stood up to Bush and defined torture. He organized across party lines to stop Bush over and over. He is not Bush, just as Obama isn't Kucinich.

To say all Republicans are the same is another example of how stupid people are. Saying McCain is Bush just reiterates that what you say is nothing but lies.

Obama=no experience, and no success as a politician. Never accomplished anything. Those are the facts!!!

AND she's going to try to get him to say something, anything, that her handlers can use to label Biden a sexist.

As we now know, all references to lipstick are now out of bounds. As are references to put bulls. Or stem cells. Or bridges. Or disabled kids. Or . . .

  22. ENOUGH ALREADY

He'll debate her the same way Michael Jordan would play my son in driveway basketball. He'll do what he needs to do to win and showcase his obvious skills advantage without appearing to bully the poor thing.

Now that the GOP is the alleged party of women's rights and all things politically correct, he has to be careful not to make her cry, though. LOL

  23. Will the real John McCain please stand up

How do you prepare for a debate with a VP candidate that isn't opposed to lying? How do you prepare for any debate against the GOP WHO ARE NOT AFRAID TO TELL LIES ON AN ONGOING BASIS?

Why would anyone be threatened by Palin? She is only a media-made center of attention VP nominee who would be a disaster in the white house if McCain were not be able to fulfill his duties. Wake up people.

i think that is a good strategy that joe biden is trying to do. because sarah palin dont want to debate on the issues because she dont know them. so her only chance to win this debate is to make as personnal as possible so joe has to stay on the issues that REAL AMERICANS CARE ABOUT.
