Biden starting debate prep

Biden is preparing to Debate Palin.

Biden is preparing to Debate Palin.

CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) - Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm has been tapped to help Joe Biden as he prepares to take on GOP rival Sarah Palin in the upcoming vice presidential debate.

Granholm will spend four days helping Biden sharpen his skills before he faces off with Palin October 2.

At a fundraiser Tuesday night, Biden told supporters debating Palin would be tricky.

“Folks look, I know what she’s going to try to do. She’s going to try to make it as personal as she can. She’s going to take a lot of straight lefts and jabs at me, she’s going to try to get me to respond, she’s going to try to get me to respond in a personal way," Biden said. "That’s not my style. I’m not going to do it.”

Instead, Biden said he would "try very hard" to keep the focus on health care, the struggling economy and foreign policy.

he needs someone to help him sharpen his skills??? WHAT? Shouldn't he speak from his heart, and already know how to debate? Didn't he go to debates as a presidential candidate?

You mean he has to prep??? Why is this okay for Sen. Biden but NOT okay for Mrs. Palin?

Stop the nasty smear, Democratic Party!

Joe, you've just got to point out that Sarah Palin is even more like George W. Bush than even John McCain. McCain voted with Bush 90-95% of the time, but Palin would probably have been 100% plus she would try to gain extra credit brownie points somehow.

Make sure you say she's "Just another George W. Bush" because if you abbreviate it saying "she's just another Bush," that could be taken wrong.

It is amazing to me that people are lining up behind McCain and Palin when all they do is lie! IS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE THIS STUPID! These idiots are deciding my future! I like Obamas education plan, then we can at least close the gap on intelligence.

He should debate her as he would debate any candidate for the VP of the USA. No special treatment, no reluctance, and stick to the facts and policy issues. I'm sick of every word said being construed as an attack on Sarah Palin. She knows exactly how to play the gender card and I am tired of it. She is either qualified on her own merits (none that I can see so far) or the biggest most disgraceful distraction ever put in front of the American voters. She holds no values that speak to me.

The shiny metal object throwers are good. They will talk about anything, and I mean anything if it will distract us. So the subject as to whether or not Sarah was vetted properly has gone. The subject as to her lies about the airplane, the bridge to no where has gone. The subject as to charging the govt for per diem in her own home is not being talked about. And hello, George Bush and his policies, and the fact that he's calling for some troops to leave Iraq, in February, one month AFTER he leaves office is not on the table.

I don't want to talk about lipstick or any other shiny metal object. We're smarter than this Americans, really, we are. Stay focus.

Actually, check for Palin to get some facts. Repeating misinformation does not turn make believe into reality.

Palin backed off on the Bridge to Nowhere because it wasn't getting approved anyway. Then, she had Alaska spend $25M on the road there anyway because they woul dotherwise have had to give back the federal money. Alaska has never returned the $454M it received for the Bridge to Nowhere.

Can't wait to watch Biden destroy her by treating her equally, as he would treat any other candidate...and then listen to the self-contradictory whining from people claiming he was a bully and a sexist.

  11. Oh Boy!!!???

Please let the so-called Pit Bull with lipstick stand up for herself, away from the script, away from the aides, and McCain.
She will be held accountable for her words and actions if elected, why not let the dog out and see how she behaves without the leash and muzzle.
She painted herself a Pit Bull, let's see how she bites. She may just want to roll over and play dead.

I can't wait to see Joe Biden get into a debate with the so called pit-bull with lipstick. She can't speak without being prepped, that gives me a lot of confidence in he. She could potenially be running the 2nd highest office and she has to be prepped extensively before giving and interview. The announcement of her being VP was delayed, guess they had to feed her her lines over and over again.

Wow! That top comment really is indicative of the delusion pervasive on the right. I'll take Obama's judgment against McCain's old and feeble grasp of reality. Consider the VP as an insurance policy and reference library at the same time. Who would you rather have: the young, energetic, worldly, intelligent individual with proven judgment; or the old, dottering, forgetful, "reformed maverick" as the Daily Show put it with a crazy nutcase of a right wing loonie backing him up? Putting lipstick on a dog, pig or fish, it all looks ridiculous and smells just as bad.

If Ms Palin was so fiscally responsible with the "Bridge To No Where" project why didn't she return the funds back to the federal govt? Why did she leave the city of wasilla with 20 million dollars of debt? Why is she allowed to hide behind the republican cloak of deception? She is just a distraction so the American people won't discuss the real issues because we all know McCain doesn't have a plan for anything. This election will be decided by the american voters. Enough is Enough !!

Obama/Biden needs to be careful about these debates and avoid litany.

Remember the interviews with Rick Warren at Saddleback? Rick asked both Obama and McCain what US policy they would formulate to help the millions of orphaned children the world over.

Obama gave a comprehensive plan of what his administration would do if elected and it sounded very good.

McCain didn’t offer a single plan; all he did was tell a story of how Cindy brought home an adopted child.

Guess what people remember that story about Bridget and forget that McCain didn’t offer anything on that issue except saying Americans should be able to adopt whenever they want. He played with peoples emotions and he got a few votes in the bag.

Let's not be ridiculous here... Palin should be debated on the issues in a conventional forum. She's unprepared, unqualified, and undignified as a potential Vice-President. Her choice reflects lack of preparation, qualification, and dignity. Her choice is also a lack of respect for the electorate, although many are lapping it up. Sad.

Ask her why she billed the state of Alaska per diems for food and lodging for 313 days when she was at home and how that constitutes fiscal responsibility...

I hope Biden elucidates during the debate exactly what he has done for health care and the economy. He's been in office for decades and the only certain thing is he approved all the pension increases for himself and the other politicians, at the commoner's expense, you know, the folks he relates to that will depend on social security, but Joe will have a nice pension. Let's get the candidates to agree to do everything they can to eliminate the pensions and get all the politicians on social security. They need to have a little 'skin" in the game. Talk is cheap.

Of course Palin will try to make the debates personal, because she can't possibly run on her record or that of the Republican party and still come out looking like a "maverick." All Joe has to do is attack her on all the speeches she's been given that are chock full of lies-like how she sold the plane on ebay (didn't sell, hired a broker, sold at a loss), how she said "no thanks" to the bridge (running as governor she was for it) and how she still took the money. Or how she hired a Washington lobbyist for her small town of Wasilla so she could get earmarks. This is one debate I will not miss-it should be better than Monday night football!
    Go Joe!

Woman who cry gender bias- should not insert themselves in politics with men!

As a woman- we want to be treated as equals and be taken seriously.

Palin touts her ability as tough. We don't see that- she throws bombs and then hides behind her campaign.

Her and Johnny Boy are nothing without their flashcards prepared by their handlers. They don't even respond to media questions or questions in town halls anymore. Only read prepared statements.

Contrast that to Obama who writes his own speeches and talking unscripted in his town halls and fields questions daily from the press and supporters.

McCain and his gimmick are trying to steal the election by hiding their true intentions from the public by their media blackout.
