Bill Clinton predicts big Obama win

NEW YORK (CNN) - Former President Bill Clinton predicted Barack Obama will "win" this fall's election and "will win pretty handily.”

The two men chatted with reporters in a photo-op at Clinton's Harlem office before sitting down for a private lunch.

Clinton is scheduled to campaign for Obama in Florida later this month. According to aides, the former president will appear at a mix of fundraisers and campaign events on behalf of the Democratic ticket throughout the fall.

"We're putting him to work," said Obama.

Clinton said he’d "agreed to do a substantial number of things, whatever I'm asked to do.”

Obama smiled at Clinton's prediction that he would take the White House: "There you go, you can take it from the President of the United States. He knows a little something about politics."

The image of the two men meeting comes as a relief to many Democrats who have been hoping to put to rest the "Clinton-Obama rift" storyline. Both Clintons praised Obama in their convention speeches, but agreed a face-to-face meeting with the president was a necessary step in putting the contentious primary season behind both camps.

The two men were said to be dining on a mix of sandwiches, salads and pizza from the lunch chain Cosi.

I think those are the most pathetic faces I have ever seen. The smile on Barack is on automatic and the Bill's face is a person who looks tired and worn. Why must Barack always be dependent on someone else to prop him up? Isn't there such thing as honor and an ability to stand alone? No, because he was just a fake in the first place.

This meeting was too long in coming. Should have happened prior to the convention, but following the primaries Bill was on vacation for a month and then Obama took off for a week.

McCain is the only one with the guts enough to take on (out) our enemies in North Korea, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq.

With his pro life stance, and a return to the draft, we will have enough solders to fight on until in God's war.

Some bloggers just do not get it:

The Presidential Race is about the Electoral College, NOT a popularity contest– a PIG-LIPSTICK race. On that score, McCain will never catch up to Obama. Obama is way ahead of the Electoral College counts. Just Remember Gore and Kerry with their dumb popularity votes– Bush won because like Obama, the focus is on the Electoral College, not these DumB CNN popular votes that are tauted by Republican Pig-lipsticks. I guess McCain knows better, that is why he panicked again to use a woman for his own needs, even after he had said: Country First. But McCain is losing and now wants to use a woman to get him back in the race!!!

I look forward to CNN's article tonight on what the chosen one had for lunch.

Wow, CNN is deperate to make itself "All Obama, all the time", huh? Such journalistic integrity.....such professional detachment.....

Just do us all a favor, CNN, and go off the air, and get jobs at MSNBC, as you've essentially been their twin of late.

Does Bill Clinton even listen to the news or is he so busy jetting around the country and the world making shady deals for millions with the likes of Saudi Sheiks and dirty businessmen that he just doesn't have time to pay attention?

Hooray! Our favorite democrats are TOGETHER scheming the demise of the Republicans! Its like heaven!

Since the comments are closed on the Rove Story...I think we should do the opposite of whatEVER he says...Sarah Palin's not going to get anymore popular than she is now as more information comes out about her the more people are going to see her as the out of touch, extremist she is....They played all their cards and now they are just going to play in the dirt like the pigs they TRULY are...

BTW How can a campaign who thinks that a woman should have her rapists baby call Barack Obama sexist?

Bill, I voted for Hillary and will vote for Obama because I have no other choice. However, Mr. President, you know Obama will not win.

Hillary was right; she was the Dems best candidate. Obama will fail.

So what that forty-years ago MCcain was a POW, i am tired of hearing that,he didnt get to the vwhite house in 2000 and he wont get there in 2008, by the way it was carl rove who cost MCcain the election in 2000
with dirty tactics, it is good to see that MCcain has learned,so much-
    for "HONOR,RESPECT,and PRIDE".

"BIG WAR HEROE" what a joke.

Yes Bill... Obama will win big, when lipsticked pigs fly =]

Unfortunately for Obama, Palin has taken all the steam out of his campaign.

The race tightens, the battlegrounds swing redder every day.

Obama can only fail now, and attacking Palin is ensuring that failure.

I'm really hoping that Obama will find a place of importance for Hill on his cabinet. However I'm also hoping for Hill to become the "first" lady Pres. of the USA. That being said, I hope all of you who have pledged to vote for McSame will give some thought to that fact. If McSame and his "pitbull" are able to capture the white house this year, It will give the "pitbull" a good chance to run next time. At that time she will be considered as being the incumbent So we must stop them in their tracks now!!!! Thanks for listening
