Comments on: Concerns about terrorist attack at lowest level since 9/11

In the past 8 years, my concerns have been with the Bush administration and not a fear of terrorist attacks. My concerns today are for the state of our economy, affordable healthcare for everyone, my children's education and their future, ending the war in Iraq that is only increasing the national debt. Those are the things I think about and what I believe really matters to the American people. Can we focus on what's really important?

I'm sure the republicans are thanking God for 9/11 so taht they have one more day wehre Palin does not have to answer any questions.

According to a press statement put out today, after the interview with Charlie Gibson of ABC News this evening, Palin will NOT be giving any more interviews and will NOT campaign on her own, but only with mcCain so that they can keep a close eye on her.

That comes directly from the McCain camp. Any itnelligent person would realize that this woman is not qualified and if she can't hold her own in interviews how in the hell is she supposed to deal wtih dangerous world leaders as V.P., or possibly president?

Why would McCain be able to handle the miltiary/foreign policy better than Obama?

Are you all mad? You refuse to ignore the facts.

Facts:

John McCain went to the military academy. There, they teach you about . . . . .maybe. . . . the military. You study battles, miltary theory and yes . . .FOREIGN POLICY.

H then went into the military and put his book training to work. He excelled in the miltary. He fought in a war, and LED TROOPS!!!!

Now, what in Obama's past would give him this experience? I know he "thought" about joining the military!!!

A law degree from Harvard does not give somebody that experience or knowledge.

The military academy's were designed to CREATE leaders!!! Of course the pinko Obama-idiots will claim that the academy's are evil and should be destroyed.

There is no argument. McCain is better prepared (with his military background AND decades of poltical experience) to run our country!!!

Obama's 8 years in ILL politics does not make a President!!!

Personally, I give Bush credit for mismanaging two wars, but having the sense to finally bring in qualified people during his second term that have done a great job, and pulled his bacon out of the fire. I also give him credit for turning his back on the wounded soldiers, until finally being exposed and diverting some more tax money toward getting those honorable troops the care that they need for their selfless service.
All that being said, eight is enough, the Bush adminstration has done a rocky job with subjective results, and we don't need a sabre rattling psychologically unstable set of tyrants like McCan't and the Wicked Witch Palin following up the job with their restive ideals.

It's disturbing to me when it is reported that people feel John McCain would be better on national security than Obama. There is no guide of measurement to determine that and I pray there won't be one. But the fact remains our borders aren't secure and we don't know whose in this country legally or illegally. I don't buy into propaganda with no facts, remember 9/11 occurred under the Bush administration. God Bless the 9/11 victims and their families.

I think the reason people are not feeling as anxious about an attack is because they are too worried about keeping roofs over their heads, food on the table, and clothes on their back. I don't know who was responsible, terrorists or the government, so I'm not going to speculate. I will say that if it was terrorists, the attacks on 9/11 did exactly what they were supposed to do, cripple our economy and divide the country. If it was the government's doing, I would like to know what they meant to accomplish. Either way, I'm more concerned with the economy and whether my husband and I will be able to afford a family because at this point we are holding off. We're not sure what tomorrow will bring.

The attack on Amreica was a wake-up call to all in our great country that america must be more aware of wha tis going on in the world. Bush and his cowboy politics did much to anger and inflame hate. When the talking stops the war begins.

There is a big difference betwen giving up and letting the other side have eveything, and true nogotiations to bring ideas into focus so the real issues can be addressed. America has much to offer and if we approch situations openly and with a true hope to achieve change we can show other countries how they can enjoy the same joys we do. BTW, what does it say about the Republicans that they decided to nominate for VP someone who is in the midst of a very serious ethics investigation and could very well be found guilty? It proves one of two things: Either that they really don't care about legalities, or that they believe that they can manipulate the results to their satisfaction.

It's difficult to be concerned about terrorism that seems to be going on halfway around the world when gas is creeping back toward $4/gal in some states and it still over $4/gal in others.

7 Years later and we still feel the affects of 9/11/2001. I'll bet the guys who did this are laughing their tails off on how successful they were. We now can't go to a terminal to say goodbye to a loved one when the board the plane, we wire tap liberaly, got into a war for the wrong reasons and had no plan to fix the country after we took out the dictator! I'll again bet the bad guys can't how well it worked. Look at the US, we have ZERO international credibility, military streched to the beaking point, boarders that can't keep out a flock of sheep, and a debt so bad my great grand kids will be paying off. They don't need to attack us again. Sure they woke the sleeping giant, but we managed to hurt ourselves worse than they did! How sad is that? I weep for the future.

The odds of any American being killed in a terrorist attack are a billion to one.

The odds of losing your job, your house, or your health insurance, however, are about 1 in 5.

Even the dumbest Americans get this.

The Republicans will once again use the 9/11 attacks as a cudgel to beat into our brains that we are "at war" with the rest of the world and need to have a strong hand at the helm to "win" this war.

However, after eight years of this war, nothing has been accomplished, other than to shuffle the government in Iraq, strengthen the exremists in Iran, and lose all support for our cause in Pakistan, where we are now banned.

But wait, McCain says "victory" is in sight! Since he can see it, perhaps he should tell the rest of us what it looks like!
