Palin says she didn't hesitate to take VP slot

Gov. Sarah Palin arrived back in Alaska on Wednesday night.
Gov. Sarah Palin arrived back in Alaska on Wednesday night.

(CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she "didn't blink" when Sen. John McCain offered her the Republican vice presidential nomination and is confident she could handle the duties of president if necessary.

"I answered him yes, because I have the confidence in that readiness and knowing that you can't blink," Palin told ABC News in her first interview since accepting the No. 2 slot on the GOP ticket.

"You have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission, the mission that we're on - reform of this country and victory in the war. You can't blink. So I didn't blink then even when asked to run as his running mate," she said.

BEFORE GETTING HEAD OVER HEELS FOR PALIN, PLEASE LOOK AT WHAT SHE STANDS FOR. SHE DOES NOT REPRESENT ME IN ANY WAY , SHAPE, OR FORM. TO THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT MADE THEIR MINDS UP, DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT YOU HEAR. GO ON THEIR WEBSITES. DECIDE FOR YOURSELF WHICH POLICY WOULD HELP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. BOTH SITES WOULD TELL YOU WHAT IS FACT AND WHAT IS FICTION. QUIT ALL THIS FOOLISHNESS. START LOOKING AT THEIR PLAN INSTEAD HOW THEY LOOK. THAT IS WHY WE WENT THROUGH 8 YEARS OF HELL.!!!!!

Good old liberal Campbell Brown is at it again! Just heard her say that Sara Palin implied that the US might have to go to war with Russia over an possible invasion of Georgia. A COMPLETE DISTORTION OF WHAT THE WOMAN SAID !!! She simply repeated the NATO policy that an attack against any member of NATO is an attack against all members of the alliance. Georgia of course is not a member of NATO so the question posed to Palin was an attempted trap. PLEASE CAMBELL ... MAKE SOME SMALL ATTEMPT TO BE FAIR AND OBJECTIVE ..YOUR BIAS IS A DISGRACE TO JOURNALISM!!

I saw an interesting 20/20 last night about how good looking people are treated better, are considered more trust worthy, etc. Many people have proven that to be true since they've obviously fallen for Ms. Palin based on nothing that makes her a legitimate candidate in this election. Wake up folks!!! And shame on any woman who was a Hillary supporter now thinking of switching based on gender. You're a disgrace to the rest of us. Obama/Biden 2008!

I AM CONCERNED. VERY VERY CONCERNED.

SARAH PALIN IS JUST A HEARTBEAT AWAY FROM BECOMING OUR NEXT PRESIDENT IF 72 YEAR OLD MCCAIN TAKES THE OFFICE.
    DO PEOPLE GET THAT ???

GOOD JOB CARL ROVIANS WHO MANIPULATED OUR COUNTRY FOR YEARS!! ANOTHER WIN FOR YOUR POLITICS AND LOSS FOR THE ENTIRE NATION.

SHE HAS NO IDEA ABOUT FIXING ECONOMY, NO IDEA ABOUT FOREIGN AFFAIRS, NO IDEA ABOUT INNER CITY ISSUES, NO IDEA ABOUT HEALTCARE. IMAGINE THE SUPREME COURT JUSTICES THAT SHE WOULD PICK.

    GOD SAVE AMERICA!

Of course she didn't blink. If you don't have a clue about what you're getting into you don't blink. Most teenagers react the same way.

Is anyone else thanking their lucky stars that Gwen Iffel is moderating the VP debate? A REAL journalist, and I doubt she'll fall for that flirty wink that Palin tried on Charlie.

Why was she so offended by the pig in lipstick comment when she herself said that she was a dog with lipstick during the Republican convention. What about barracuda? Maybe she was offended because pigs are actually smart creatures. Who knows.

I am an Independent who has happily anticipated this interview. I was horrified to see that I know more about the Bush Doctrine and foreign policy than Sarah Palin does. She is utterly frightening. I will certainly watch Nightline tonight and the rest of the interview tomorrow. I have now lost all the confidence I had in John McCain, choosing Sarah Palin was unbelievably bad judgement. It makes me sick that John McCain has hammered Barack Obama for being inexperienced – Obama is a Harvard educated Constitutional scholar and an attorney with 12 years experience in State and National government. Sarah Palin has been Governor of Alaska for 19 months and has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. I truly fear for America if McCain/Palin were to be elected.

"I didn't hesitate, no," – So knowing she had a pregnant 17 year old who would be exposed to scrutiny by the national media and a newborn with Down's Syndrome, she never hesitated to put her political ambitions above the welfare of her own family, which means it's a pretty safe bet that she'll put her political ambitions above the welfare of yours and mine.

IF and I say IF the country if Georgia joins NATO then it is the DUTY of other countries in NATO to come to that countries defense.

That small countries can band together and with the help of the USA and stand up to was was the USSR was one of the main reasons NATO was created

To argue it is a bad thing that Gov Sara Palin is somehow a warmonger for saying NATO will defend its member countries only will show the ignorance of what the purpose of what NATO is.

Even with the fall of the soviet union NATO remains a force not to be taken for granted

SO PLEASE attack Sen Palin for her statements regarding NATO and Georgia it doesn't not show her ignorance but your own.

One other thing. To ANYONE who thinks it is "enough" that all Governor Palin has to do is "Love Our Country".
    You HAVE LOST YOUR MIND!!
A person could love our country with all their heart, make BAD decisions, and run us right in the ground!!!
Sounds like our current President if you ask me!!

Her answers were rehearsed as if she had memorized them using flashcards like a high school student. Gibson hardly pushed her, but when he nudged her, she just repeated the same memorized lines or gave the old "non-answer answer." I can't beleive people are buying into this farce.

She is strong rather you like it or not, and think about this. Do you love your country? She love her country and she want the best for us, and she is not perfect and I beleive she and John McCain can get the job done and it will take times.

Think about this! Democrat destroyed Sept 11, 2001, not the Republican!!!

Donkey wake up and be honest of what happened from 1992 to 2000 before Sept 11, 2001. What made this happen on Spet 11, 2001.

I had no idea that Charles Gibson had a hearing problem. Gov. Palin had to repeat her statement 3 times in regards to Israel protecting its borders. Your partisanship was showing Charlie. Sorry, but I won't be watching you again. I don't remember you asking Obama if he thought he was qualified for the job, or how much he had travelled overseas regarding foreign policy. He has about as much experience as she does.

There is no experience which allows you to be ready for President without on the job training. Get that through your heads deluded rightists. Also get through your heads that McCain's representing a continuation of the Bush Administration.

Those who are undecided, or who are PUMAS, or who are for Hillary 2012, (as they state on all these comment blogs) need to pay more attention to the issues.

If you vote for McCain, then Palin gets 4 years in the White House that gives her the experience card and that will go against Hillary!!! I cannot believe that Obama doesn't have a place for her, perhaps Sec of State or the Supreme Court, or overseeing Health Care etc etc etc. This can only add to her already over the top credentials. But if you vote for McCain, you give Gov. Palin the advantage.....why would you do that????

There is no doubt that Gov. Palin has energized McCain's campaign, but it is because of Rove tactics that are dishonorable and deceitful. Why don't you realize that McCain is not getting that energy on his own merits, as per the recent trip he took alone yesterday?

If you want Hillary next time.....any true supporter of hers would either not vote this time or vote for Obama because, for now....like him or not.....he is the only one that will ultimately help Hillary in 2012.

To spite the Dems because you didn't like the fact that Hillary didn't win this time, is so juvenile.....you are not true supporters or you would never consider voting for someone based on gender alone, someone who stands for everything that Hillary doesn't.

For example: How sad that Gov. Palin's beliefs could possibly reverse Roe v Wade, I detest the thought of abortion but I defend any woman's right to choose, especially in the case of rape or incest.....it is God's Will to decide if a life is meant to be....it certainly is not up to the Republicans.
