Palin says she didn't hesitate to take VP slot

Gov. Sarah Palin arrived back in Alaska on Wednesday night.
Gov. Sarah Palin arrived back in Alaska on Wednesday night.

(CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she "didn't blink" when Sen. John McCain offered her the Republican vice presidential nomination and is confident she could handle the duties of president if necessary.

"I answered him yes, because I have the confidence in that readiness and knowing that you can't blink," Palin told ABC News in her first interview since accepting the No. 2 slot on the GOP ticket.

"You have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission, the mission that we're on - reform of this country and victory in the war. You can't blink. So I didn't blink then even when asked to run as his running mate," she said.

Cocky, happy triggered, inexperienced leader may lead our nation into another regrettable experience beyond 2008. If we want another experimental, untested trial or hormonal enhancement to booster in virtual world then be warned of potential ramifications.

"I too saw the interview and she is even worse than I thought."

Did she do bad?? I practically don't care because quite frankly, she couldv'e open her mouth a little earlier. And she seems like she likes to talk, I don't know what's the problem. But I'll have to say that I don't think she's a bad communicator, I'm sure she knows what she wants to say. But ohh well, she believes that God sent out a mission to our troops and unfortunately, God didn't send no mission to Palin...

The only saving grace that the McCain camp has is the fact that Ike is dominating alot of the news.

After seeing in her ABC interview, that Plain didn't even know what the "Bush Doctrine" was, I am convinced that Saturday Night Live should get her to play herself in Saturday's opening show. The name of this comedy troupe, if I remember correctly, is "The Not Ready For Prime Time Players"!

Shouldn't one pause a moment to consider one's family and personal readiness for any major new endeavor? Not blinking comes AFTER we think. Having had a leader who acts from the gut for eight years, we could use leaders who pause, even momentarily, before acting. Her total reversal of the meaning of her 2006 speech about Iraq and then attributing her words to Lincoln was truly astounding.

That interview was great (for the Democrats), I can only hope there are more like it. Can we honestly believe that she doesn't know the Bush Doctorine, yet meant to quote Lincoln when referring to God's will at her church? Riiiight.
And she's equipped to deal with a possible Russian threat because you can see part of Russia from part of Alaska? Is she planning to put up a big telescope over there or something?
Biden may consider himself a lesser choice due to the fact that he wasn't the politically expediate one. Obama would be having an easier go if he went with Hillary just to lock up votes rather than Biden who was a choice meant to help bolster qualifications and bring experience. Palin was a choice meant to bring in the religious right and all their frevor and to secure their backing and money. The new shine will wear off soon enough. No wonder they've kept her away from questions.
Anyone who compares this interview to any that Obama has done can't tell the difference between considering your answers and reguritating them.

This is the way I look at this situation. Hilary was my choice, Obama I dont think is ready. McCain is without a doubt vetted. Now I am an ex Dem. I dont beleive in alot of what the republicans stand for. But If Sara Palin in the future has to fill McCains shoes, I look at it this way, shes more qualified than Bush ever was, or Cheny or Obama. She at least has a level head, and thinks before she acts. I think she will be just fine.

political person: "I predict that when this election is over you people will find yourself in a minority. Obama is proving just how unready he is for the white house by his sexist remarks and his hysteria about Palen. He needs to get down to issues and cut the attacks by his people against Palen. The way he is going he is giving the election to the republicans."

You're argument might be more effective if you could get the name of the person you're supporting correct. Palin. Not Palen.

She struggled in what I thought was a powderpuff interview with some easy questions. Not impressed.

Not asking you to blink Palin.

The word is 'think'. This isn't the quarterback asking you to the prom, there are serious ramifications for the country and your family. I don't believe she considered what her acceptance of the nomination would do to her pregnant daughter in particular.

Not saying she should have said no, I'm just saying she should have considered it before saying yes.

She did fine. As many of you may recall, was kept from the press as well during the primary campaign . . . .and he is running for President.

Hillary did all the fighting and biting for her to help Sarah Palin get this far.

We're so used to seeing a woman campaign that by the time we see Sarah, it's natural to the scene.

    She should thank Hillary.

Sorry but sharing a border with Canada and living across the Bering Strait from Russian does not equate foreign policy experience. I can't believe that you those who call yourselves democrats could even for a minute believe that more Republican nonsense that McCain represents, more of the same failure in Washington that McCain voted for 95% of the time with GWB...how you can believe that that would be better because Barak is not Hillary...shame on you. The Republicans are the morally bankrupt...not the moral majority.

Are you Mc-idiots for real? Those of you who are so gung ho for McCain and that unbeliveable sorry excuse for a running mate Caribou Barbie, have probably never served day one in a military uniform or heard a shot fired in anger. Stop being so quick to volunteer others to go do your chest beating war crying bidding.
You should be ashamed of yourselves for backing a ticket based on what party you think you belong to. Be an American first and put your racisit fears behind you......this time fellow Americans, this election, DO THE RIGHT THING. Vote Obama!!

  20. seriously?

if you don't blink twice at being asked to be someone's VP, you either don't deserve to be VP or you're too stupid to understand what the job is.

Obama was referring to lipstick on a pig as related to the past eight years. None of his supporters should downgrade themselves to apply this to a person. McCain has used the same reference to persons during this campaign, e.g. Chelsea.....way out of bounds, tasteless, and untrue.

She should have hesitated, this power hungry liar very scary. When is she going to give a real interview? What about all those emails regarding her bro in law? what about her husband doing some of her gov duties? why were emails sent to her and cc to todd palin? when are we going to find out the truth.

Why are people seriously thinking of voting for bush/cheney part 2?

If you were a Hilary supporter and for you are voting McCain you were never really for Hillary. Just does not make sense. I was happy to have Hilary or Barack as long as it is not Bush. I used to think McCain had some values but choosing this woman makes me think he does not she is very scary.
